Doesn't anyone seem to notice that all the anime being made recently are the typical high school romance stuff?

That's pretty much all it is. But it appeals to teenage girls.

I honestly can't stand the lack of originality in some of the stories.

*Though, I will admit, that's more of the mainstream stuff like Fruits Basket(s?) and Vampire Knight and Hot Gimmick.

(P.S. It's mostly shoujo that's like that.)

Teenage love is the best thats why, at least in my opinion. ♥
All that mega-drama in teenage relationships are fun to watch too. xD

I don't think it's a competition...

And there's plenty of anime being produced that aren't high school romance, you just need to look for it rather than *****ing about what you don't like.

You're talking about the last three years line up of anime. The Anime Industry is pretty jaded so they're just making visual novels into anime or light novels. Note that all of them look the same.

I haven't seen a good GAR in years.

If that's what you think, your scope is very limited.

Remember young Akiko if you dig deep enough you'll eventually find Josei anime. If you dig deeper you find Honey & Clover, Midnight Secretary, Here Come Greenwood.

not all animer we're highschool romance :)... but mostly some of us watch high school focused anime... if you just browse and dig deeper... u'll see a bunch of anime... way back in the year 1990's xDD

Are you flaming yourself? He's the ANIME AND MANGA SECTION mod. If he was the Misc. Mod you wouldn't really expect the person to know beans about anime and manga.

Umm, I think I stated, "Recent" on not the ones in 1990's. But, yeah, I guess you are right. Even if we dig deeper into the recent anime, we could find those "extra-terrestrial" ones.

He's actually one of my acquaintances on the forum. Plus, I know from speaking to him frequently on Chat that he knows more than you. He's also an Anime and Manga Mod, so even if I didn't know him, I'd still believe he knows more.
