I posted a wall here a few months ago and It had alot of problems. Mostly with extracting. I had the same problem on this one, especially with Rukia but I didn't think It looked too bad. Let me know what you guys think. Made with Gimp. When It goes to the photobucket link just click on full size to see it the real size. Oh yeah and I know I need to go back and add the Animewallpapers.com to it. Thanks in advance!

I don't know much about wallpapers, but my one comment would be that the characters really don't seem to be part of the image. They just look pasted there. You could try messing around with the background colors, or something I think.

Relatively new to this too, but i would recommend using a tool that makes the outer pixels of the characters partially transparent, and removes the white border that got left behind after extraction.
In photoshop u have a tool called the background eraser. This recognizes borders and makes the pixels partially transparent and also removes, in this case the white, thus making the character blend better into the background.

If any more experienced members wanna correct me, feel free to do so ^^
