"Cool" is merely based on perception. What you consider cool would be considered gay to another.

Kazuma's hair matches that of Elvis' pompadour hairstyle only it's orange instead of black. I happen to be a fan of Elvis. Plus I don't like short people.

Sometimes the underdog will come out on top. I thought that during the Giants v. Patriots superbowl, the Patriots were actually going to win even though I'm a Giants fan but the Giants pulled through.

Now let's take the next part about Kazuma being a deeper character. Using Samurai Champloo as an example, most, if not all fangirls seem to like Mugen the reckless ape. Jin is much more composed and has a steady hold on things. When you keep your cool in a fight like Jin does, that's how you know who's the better character.

The goofy, clumsy characters are always the greatest. They are what make anime good. The midget could get kicked off the show and it would still be kind of humorous.

It's almost as if Hiei's trying to be cool. It makes me think he has some insecurities. Kuwabara isn't afraid to express himself, hence his clumsiness.

I mean, look at clumsy characters and how they made their series great.

-Kintaro from Golden Boy has his toilet hugging, perverted thoughts and awkward situations.

-Ikkou from Amaenaideyo doesn't learn a damn thing throughout the series and becomes a lecherous fiend after he "awakens".

-Keiichi Maebara was the butt of all jokes in both seasons of Higurashi.

-Most of the characters from Azumanga Daioh were goofy from the start. *coughkimuracough*

-Tenjin, Bacchi-Gu and Ichibanboshi Hikaru from Green Green were truly goofy in their failed attempts at getting a piece.

-Shiraishi from Lucky Star was the victim of verbal abuse and an ashtray.

-Jii-jii from Pani Poni Dash had a lot of goof going on for him.

-Hanai and Harima from School Rumble share clumsiness. Most likely, they are on an equal level.

-Pretty much all of the Bobobo cast speaks for themselves.

Finally, another person sees the reality behind anime characters. Angsty jerks are a major turn-off in the real world so why should anime be any different when it comes to personality and gender?

I have to agree with you. Without Kuwabara, the series would be no fun because there would be much less comedy. Hell, half of the other character's best quotes come from making fun of Kuwabara. Of course, that's not the only thing he's good for. He's also, as said before, the underdog of the story. As far as liking Kuwabara, he's not one of my top character's, not because he's ugly (which is kinda true. even the artist admitted it), but because he's an idiot. I have this thing where I hate people without common sense. It just bugs the crap out of me. As for liking Hiei, I think he's a well developed character with an awesome background story. Plus, I've always had a thing for the dark and mysterious guys. (I would like to mention that I'm not one of those creepy people who wishes an anime character were real so that I could screw him...just thought I'd throw that out there.) If Hiei were real, then no, I would not want to date him because he is short and a real jerk. I like him on the show, however, because of his strong sense of loyalty and the ever-awesome "death before dishonor" personality. It just kinda rocks. I like Kuwabara. He is a humorous goofball. He is also a good hearted guy who is fiercely loyal to his friends and always willing to help those in need of assistance. Furthermore, he holds a strong code of honor. He would never resort to cheating, no matter what the circumstances were.

I am not a Hiei fan. Interesting back-story and insecurities aside, he is still a cold, callous jerk. I have never been fond of characters who have that type of personality. They bore me.

Kuwabara is not connected to Demon World, so it was not necessary for him to be included in The Three Kings saga. Nevertheless, his absence from the saga was a let down.

Kuwabara is actually one of my favorites. He do have flaws/imperfections, but that is what makes him well himself. Haha I love his goofiness, but he has a good soul too.
