which ending of SK is better?
in my opinion, the anime is more "complete", cos we know that yoh has defeated hao. the only question is to what had happened to hao in fact, as in whether he is destroyed forever or died for the time being, or just vanished? the manga's ending is about yoh and his friends preparing for the next day's battle (with hao). it does not show what will happen after the fight. i hope that hiroyuki-san will end the series with a complete and interesting ending :)

How do you mean which ending...?
Are you reffering to differences between anime and manga ending,or...?
Dunno,to be honest...as in many anime,Shaman King left us a very open ending, but manga did that too...
I've heard that there is more manga allready released, but since I'm lazy to search,I can't say that for sure...
I was dissapointed in both endings, and because of that I've lost interest in reading the rest (if it's out)...
The Japanese publisher Shueisha has officially announced that Shaman King would return in March 2008 as Shaman King Kanzen-Ban, or Perfect Edition. This release will reprint the entire series in 27 volumes complete with new clear image overlays on the covers while concluding with the never-before-published "true ending." The first six volumes of the manga have been released in Japan and is now being released every two months with the final volume expected to be released in Spring of 2009.

i would say that the thread is about which ending (manga or anime) do you like better. the differences in the anime and manga is quite big, like different conclusions of shaman king. most fans of this series would be disappointed with the "old" endings, but i hope that the "new" ending (manga) would be rather good. i believe hiroyuki-san has reasons for giving an open ending. maybe he has no time to finish the story, run out of ideas, or maybe want the fans of SK to continue waiting for an ending (like pokemon, which does not have an ending), thus keeping them watch or read SK.
the only negative thing about open endings is that, when they are left "opened" for more than a year or so, fans would slowly lose interest in it and by the time the true ending has come out, less people would read it. same thing happened to me, i too had lost interest in it for a year or so, but i decided to be patient and wait.
