Yes, this is a COUNTRY BAND, and here's a pre-warning, no flaming country OR this band due to their recent political envolvement.

The Dixie Chicks:
Lead Singer: Natalie Maines
Background and Instruments: Matrie McGuire and Emily Robison
Some Cd's of theirs: Fly, Home, Wide Open Spaces, Taking the Long Way

Hits (ones I particuarily like in bold):
Not Ready to Make Nice
Goodbye Earl
Ready to Run
Wide Open Spaces
Landslide (a remake of the Stevie Nicks song)
Long Time Gone
Cowboy Take Me Away

Genre: Country, bluegrass, country/rock

Due to their recent political issues concerning their comments to President George Bush, the Dixie Chicks have faces a sudden downfall in fans. Their music is played less and less on the radio and they seem to be dissapearing. But, like all great Country outlaws (Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson) they continue to produce and their recent album "Taking the Long Way" with its track "Not Ready to Make Nice", which explains their passion for free speech, has sold extremely well. I love the album, myself. They are a shining star in the dwindling genre of Country Music. They remain unpolished and unchanged, unlike the many new stars. If you agree with me, go ahead.

"Made my bed and I'll sleep like a baby with no regrets and I don't mind saying it's a sad sad story when a mother will teach a daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger and how in the world can the words that I said send somebody so over the edge that they'd write me a letter saying that I'd better SHUT-UP and SING or my LIFE will be OVER"

This can only be a good thing.

No, it is not a good thing that people who dont give a darn about what other people think are being shut out. They are talented. I have very high views on them. Freedom of speech.

Country music isn't my favorite type of music, but I enjoy The Dixie Chicks' music every once in a while. And I like their comments about George Bush.:D

I don't give two craps about their political affiliations, I just can't stand their music... and I like country, for the record.

You seem to be the only one flaming. He didn't say he didn't care about people being shut out, only that he didn't care for the Dixie Chicks. Calm down.

As do I.

I personally never paid much attention to artists, but I do know the name so I probably think they're good. I dunno, I'd have to listen to their music and find out again. lol

Well damn it if you didn't shoot yourself in the foot, no one will post in this topic now!

I'm a liberal democrat, but obnoxiously overt people of any political affiliation annoy me, not to mention their disgustingly boring and un-inventive music. Oh well. These things happen.

Sorry, Ryth, these girls are my heroes. I get a leetle defensive. I just want to know if you like their music, sorry! o.o

Un-inventive? Goodbye Earl is about the murder of an abusive husband and they make it FUNNY. I personally enjoy their music! ^^

Can't really say I'm a fan of their music.

Though I'd love to see them all fight Toby Keith in a cage match. And win.
