The new movies, 4 of them, are just a re-telling of the original series, with a few new scenes.

The first movie was...okay. It contains the first 6 episodes, condensed into an hour and forty minutes. The content of the first episode was rushed, and crammed into only 10 minutes, and sort of felt segmented. The farther the movie got, the less rushed it felt.

But, without having seen the original series, there'll be a good about you won't get. They leave some scenes out, and still leave in the future references to them, such as Shinji being beaten up at school, without giving prior description as to why.

Animation was fantastic, as was the use of color. No complaints on that end.

It was okay overall. I'm hoping the next will be better.
