So an artist set up a steampunk looking device he dubbed a Telectroscope at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. There's an identical one set up in London, and both sides see the people looking into the lens.

Yes its actually a webcam of sorts, but its still really cool, and people were asking each other questions using dry-erase signs. Here are some of the pics I got of it:

The thing itself

People trying to get a look at a similar crowd in London

I see London... (Yes thats me in the shot taking the picture O_o; )

More photos of it, and of the rest of my walk are at http://www.igorbass.com/photos/v/events/052308/
(I crossed the Brooklyn Bridge, walked over to Battery Park city, and then into West Village)

I approve of steampunk-looking contraptions. I wish you'd have gotten some snaps of the various bits up close, as they look nifty, too.

Amazing. I never knew such a thing existed here too. That giant telescope thing looks awesome, and the photo's themselves are taken really well. That is a decent collection. ^_^

Oh, you look tremendously handsome in that shot by the way.

I had no idea of this. It's actually pretty interesting. I'd like to go see this some time. It's neat that the people can see each from both places with those and using dry-erase signs for communications was a good idea. The sky looked pretty clear in both places too so, I suppose that was a convenience. On a side note, I liked the view of the bridge and the city in the distance shown in that first pic. It was taken at a good angle. The pixel quality in all the pics was great also. ^^;

That's pretty awesome. Something Carmen Sandiego would definitely take for herself.
