These were a bit rushed, and I had to redo the sig a couple times because GIMP crashed. Very annoying. >_<

The American one was rather annoying to do, I couldn't think of anything for it...

Sorry to make this my first post, if that is a problem. :unsure:

Well dude, nice stuff. I like the effects on a lot of your sigs up there. The first one is definitely your best one. You do some nice stuff for someone who uses GIMP.

Try to make less crowded, blur some stuff, sharpen other stuff, use gradient maps and other stuff to really bring out your sigs.

Thanks. I don't spend a lot of time on my works, so they are almost never complete. For most of the stuff I wish to do, I will need to re-install CS2 and get familiar with its environment. If you could direct to some helpful tutorials and such, it would be greatly appreciated.

Ummm....this forum has plenty of tutorials you could use to learn some stuff. I doubt there is GIMP ones here, but you might actually find one as I have not looked at all of them. I know I had 2 posted for CS3/CS2.....somewhere o_o; But regardless, just spend your time looking at other people's tutorials and watch videos on youtube. Don't forget to actually learn what certain art techniques are used for and take advantage of them....heavily xP

Lol thank you very much. I've been at it for about 2 to 3 years, roughly. If you check my PB account, you'll literally see how I progressed from beginner, to what I am today. I can't really say I'm very good anymore since I've lost a lot of my art sense.

My view of good artwork is a good balance of color, depth, composition, lighting, fore/mid/background, and a strong focal point. If you can understand these concepts than my work would look like nothing lol. I think that really anyone can pick up those ideas if they are persistent enough, so never get discouraged.
Oh, yes. I can see you've come quite a ways. Unlike you, however, I am very, very slow to progress. It might have something to do with me only working when I get a large amount of inspiration, but I'm not sure... Sometimes I question if I'm getting better at all. I find it very hard to believe that those concepts will come to me at any time without divine intervention. One in particular I struggle with is depth, could you please clarify on that? I've heard most of this before, so I guess it must be true, and I'll take what you say into consideration... I was looked down upon the every other time I was told how I should go about moving forward, so I am glad to see you are gracious to us nubs. :eek: I'll look around for some nice tuts. I've become rather adept at converting PS tools and tuts for use with GIMP so I should have no problems until I can get PS installed again. If you could PM me or post some your suggested brush sets (specific urls), I would be most grateful. Thanks for your time and courtesy.

Hmmm.... Interesting stuff you have here. I think your colors and placing stocks in correctly are your fastest ways to improvement. I stock would give you some nice base colors to work with, so you would be able to go about improving faster. Check my Extraction thread if you need any stocks.

Ah yes, they are very random, aren't they? ("Interesting")

Hmmm. I don't really see how that will help, but okay... :eek:

I like the first one and the deathnote one. They're lovely!

I'm no good at pen tooling as of yet, it doesn't work well with GIMP. So just brushes for now. -_-;

I love your sigs! Especially the L sig.

But...Isn't this from Phoenix Wright? I have no idea what it is...I just saw a video called "Phoenix Wright - Boot to the Head". It was quite stupid. xD

OBJECTION!

Yes, it is from Phoenix Wright. But it does not suck. DS Game + Anime + Court = Awesome.

Thanks for the comments.
