I enjoyed the World Martial Arts Tournaments that they had every, 5 years was it?? Sorry, it's been a while since I saw it. I saw the dub on Toonami back in 2002 when it was first released on television. I also liked how kid Goku single hadedly beat down the whole RR army and that Ninja dude and General Tao were so cool. Pilaf and those other two(the girl, and that, fox??) were kind of idiot villains, I only looked upon them as comic relief, rather than antagonists. I wish I had Goku's Flying Nimbus Cloud! And that pole thingy too!

Hey Gero50!!
I liked Dragonball!! Especially the opening theme song!! I have that on my Dragonball alarm clock, anyways!!! Uh, I kinda liked how Chi-chi like fell in love with Goku off the bat you know. And how when she hopped on the Nimbus Goku was shocked that she could actually sit on the cloud with him, that was so cute-his reaction anyway!! I liked it! It's basically a backround check of most of the characters for the DBZ show!!
Funny, I caught myself trying to run with my hands out straight like Goku and Krillin!! Weird!!

I've always found Dragonball to be more entertaining than either Z or GT. The weirdness actually becomes endearing after about three episodes, and it doesn't seem to take itself seriously to any extent (much opposed to the sequel series).

From what I can remember, DB was released after DBZ(atleast, on Toonami). Still, DB and DBZ use that darn, "3-frames" method! I really wanted to see Goku as SSJ1 at that time in DB. Master Roshi, what a perv! But such a great martial arts master!

Ya i guess it was cute how goku and his future wife got to ride the cloud together but that was because they both had pear hearts so of course they could
however I'm willing to bet goku didn't like it much when she pushed him off it though
and Ya I saw it on cartoon network when it first came out in TV
in fact i think it was the first day or week it aired in the us cuz it was the first or second episode
and I read that it would be comping to the us sooner then expected so I guess i wasn't to far off but of course it was like 6 years ago but still i think i am at least 60-70% right so ya

I don't think Dragonball was a prequel, seeing as how I'm fairly certain it came first.

Yep. Thanks, Ollie.
All the manga is called Dragonball in Japan; the Z gets added to volume 17 on elsewhere. Dragonball (the anime) was made first and was actually dubbed first in North America, but that first dub was awful, with everything clumsily censored to be safe for kindergartners. It was shown on Toonami second because the re-dub wasn't done right away even though Dragonball Z was.
I'm not sure that Dragonball would have made it to the States had DBZ never became as popular as it did. The series was too strange and perverted to be entertaining to the average westerner.

to me The entire Dragonball legacey really opend some doors for anime. It got every one's attention when it first came out....I rarely ever hear of someone flat out not liking it....It was one of the shows most people found their love of anime with... It was and is and will always be awesome
