I'm not really sure this is attempt what but for the sake of conversation this isn't the first RP I've started on this website. If you have ever made a character for one of my RPs you know I am usually very picky for quality over quantity. However, I have found that very few people get interested due to that reason so for this RP I will be very leniant. If you want to join the RP just post and you will probably be accepted as long asyou follow the premises of the story. Like most of my RP this RP has a little bit of science but everything is explained and it really isn't very complicated. I really like this story and I'm sure it can make a very interesting RP so I really hope many people join.
Project Geneside
History of RP
The year is 2013. The United States of America are still fervently waging war in the middle orient without any results. Casualties are piling high and moral is fading as progress seems to have come to a grinding halt. The United State’s reputation world wide also took a serious nose dive as their economy hit an all-time low since the grand depression. Retreat at this point was out of the question and a miracle solution was needed and it was needed fast.
A brilliant Canadian scientist by the name of Arthur Greiger developed what he called Greiger drones. The concept was pretty simple: Basically he programmed nanobots to detect and attach themselves to the X chromosomes in the human body. Then they were to release a small dose of radiation directly to the chromosomes to promote mutation. The intent was to promote increased activity in key parts of the DNA and increase certain trained functions such as speed, endurance, strength, etc.
Greiger’s research quickly attracted American interest and he was quickly attracted by incredible amounts of funding. He moved his research to Washington DC in a private government lab where he continued his researches. On June 4th 2014 Greiger completed what he called a working prototype of his product. The American government too anxious to finally come out of this depression and return to their seat as number one power of the world acted too hastily.
Ignoring Greiger’s complaints the government decided it needed to field test it and directly on human subjects. Their madness was such that they wanted to already test it at a grand scale. The question was location. They needed enough people to test the efficiency of its propagation and have good enough statistics to see the tendencies when used on human subjects. The target was chosen based off a few criteria: location, isolation, population, demographic breakdown and many other reasons. The target became a small island off the coast of Hawaii. Niihau Island was perfect. Since 2011 Niihau Island became publicly owned again after the Robinson family finally sold it.
A lone city is situated on Niihau Island and the only ways on or off the island is through ferries and other boats. Little private planes and helicopters also can be used but aren’t very frequently seen. About 2000 people live on Niihau Island 52% of which are female and 48% of which are male. Generally the population is slightly older averaging at around 20-25 years of age. It was just perfect.
Genesis: By definition means an origin, creation, or beginning
Genocide: By definition means the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group.
Project Geneside as it was called by military officials was to be a complete infection of the whole population of Niihau Island in a closed and controlled environment. Studies would be performed concerning how the population would react and appropriate measures would be taken afterwards depending on the success of the operation. In a way the operation was a complete success. The nanobots were released on July 27th 2014 a mere month and 23 days after their creation. The project was kept secret and all means of escape and entry to the island were condemned. Cameras and satellite feeds proved to be the best good ways of observing their behavior however transmitters placed in the nanobots gave constant feed of more precise data such as heart rate, hormone levels, etc.
The results:
One week after the infection here were the preliminary observations:
-76% of the male population died being unable to sustain life during the transition period. Their lack of a second X chromosome proved fatal while the first X chromosome was going through significant changes.
-The 24% surviving males proved to show impressive resistance to the change.
-Only 1% of female subjects are reported to have died due to the treatment. It appears the balance in having 2 X chromosomes facilitates the assimilation.
-Patients suffering from Klinefelter (XXY), Turner syndrome (X0) and Trisomy X (XXX) seem to have all reacted differently to the infection but seem all healthy. Even the Turner syndrome patient seems to have shown impressive resilience to the virus which makes us question the reason for extensive male deaths. More research concerning the effect of Greiger Drones on Turner syndrome patients will be needed due to lack of data.
-Every subject seems to react differently to the infection probably based off the uniqueness of the DNA. Significant increase in abilities has been detected in patients but all in different part of the body. Some have grown much faster or stronger. Some have even developed what appear to be basic telekinetic skills due to increased brain functions. These observations are staggering, some subjects even develop extensive bodily changes.
-It was noted that female subjects suffer much more drastic changes and are a lot more impressive then their male counterparts probably due to their two X chromosomes.
-It is interesting to note that Trisomy X patients are the most impressive of them all. They developed even more incredible symptoms due to their 3 X chromosomes. Luckily the very few actual candidates found on that small island prevented them to become too numerous and strong. There are only two individuals with trisomy X on the island.
-On a similar note, males suffering from Klinefelter’s survived quite well and developped similar changes to female. However, it is interesting to note that the Y chromosome seems to be very hostile to the whole process, results due to this are unpredictable. However, only 2 cases of Klinefelter’s are found on the island.
-The 1 turner syndrome patient observed seems to be faring better then male subjects however, she shows by far the weakest symptoms.
-The behavioural and emotional deterioration has resulted in the formation of a very primitive inner society based on a power driven hierarchal society. 2 clans have formed each with their leader being the strongest of the clan. Both Trisomy patients took place at the lead of a clan and are now waging war against each other. Every member of a clan seems to have been given a rank. 1 being the strongest and the higher the number, the weaker they are.
-Both clans seem to be going around recruiting infected people. Refusal to join has resulted in death.
-Of the remaining subjects it is estimated that 80% have joined one of the 2 clans. A mere 20% are undecided or in hiding.
-Since the formation of the clans. 50% of the remaining men were killed. Men seem to be more mentally stable and seem to see the clan as barbaric and out of the question however, due to their weaker nature and isolation they usually end up dieing. Most female subjects have accepted the clans readily.
After viewing these results military personel quickly realized things weren’t going well. They could not control the subjects and were way too weak for a direct approach. However, they couldn’t afford to just wipe them out, they needed them to bring America out of the shadows. They needed more data to find a way to control them more easily and needed to keep them alive for as long as possible. Experiments of this type could not be kept secret for long nor could they be repeated easily. The decision became to send soldiers to gather a group of sane infected to help the military from the inside. Some soldiers sent were infected while others were not. The reason for uninfected soldiers was to see if the nanobots were still contagious.
Most uninfected soldiers ended up dieing but it was clear that the nanobots were no longer contagious for they developped no mutation and died by the hands of one of the clans. A few soldiers from the group sent now remained alive and acted much like the rogue subjects. The obvious failure of that plan put the military in a tough spot. It was obvious they couldn’t get their men nor could they ask for outside help. The Americans had no choice to sit back and wait. Hopefully things would arrange themselves eventually or some hope would appear. But until then they had no choice but to watch these two clans wage war as bistanders were killed mercylessly.

add very apparent scars across the eyes.
Personality:
Causter was a good soldier. He worked very hard to achieve the top and did very well during his snper training. He always pushed himself hard and never gave up. Zack was a good man. He didn’t like killing people but the military was his whole life and he did what he was told. As a result Causter quickly developped sever sleep deprevation and borderline psychosis. Causter was forced to take a lot of meds during his life to keep those in check.
Caulder can literally see the face of every person he’s ever killed and it drives him practically nuts especially in his sleep. Caulder is one of those soldiers that never gives up on anybody and won’t let anybody behind. As long as he’s alive he’ll try to help others get out of situations alive aswell. Usually liked by the people he commands he really cares a lot for the people that trust him enough to obey his orders.
He believes a lot in the honor of war and that inately humans are capable of the best if given the chance. He believes that everyone has that heroic part of them that manifests itself when the time is needed and that people ar enot as dark and barbaric as war might make them out to be. Both sides are following orders and there is no personal vandetta between soldiers. It’s something Zack believes and it helps him stay sane at times.
History:
Causter was an ex-soldier. More precisely he was an ex-sniper for a tactical branch of the American military. Until the age of 35 he served the military and was often positioned in the middle orient. His skills were known throughout the army. He quickly became captain of his division due to his amazing ability to survive and other skills. Causter was always a good soldier. He obeyed order sand valued the lives of his men very highly. A fact that very few if any people knew about Causter is that throughout his entire life he only found sleep due to extensive medication. The medication were so powerful that doctors feared he would shoot his liver and kidney if he maintained his doses and kept telling him that he should retire for fear of death. Kind of ironic to tell that to a soldier whose constantly under gunfire isn’t it?
His life before th emilitary was quite uneventful. His father was a soldier who retired old and lived a happy life. His mother was a nurse that his father met on the battlefield. Zack had a good youth and it quickly became apparent that he was a gifted athlete and student. He followed in his dads footsteps but specialized in sniper training very early.
At the age of 35 when he was positioned a surprise attack on their camp changed his life forever. Zack survived the attack but a shrapnel that blew up close to his tent took away his sight forever. There was no way to repair his eyesight and Zack was honorably discharged and forced into an early retirement. Try being a blind sniper…Due to the money he had made until that point he was going to live a very comfortable life for the rest of his life so he decided to move to a secluded island to live finally a peacefull life.
For the first time in years Zack was at peace. It took a few years but Zack was finally able to find sleep naturally even though his nightmares continued ot haunt his sleep. Then at the age of 40 Zack stored away all his military equipment and sleeping pills in a vault in his basement and hasn’t opened it since. Zack lived his peaceful life alone. He quickly got used to the blindness and decided to work on another passion of his, music. Zack had always had a passion for music but due to him never staying at one place for very long he was never really able to practice his passion as much as he would have liked.
Now in his home you could find a piano, a drum set, a guitar, a bass and a flute. He played each of those instruments marvelously and usually altered between them. He had a preference for the piano and the guitar but he loved the drums a lot as well. Until the infection hit Zack was living a peaceful life or as peaceful as his nightmares let him be.
Alliance: rogue
Powers:
During the mutation sight was restored to him. Not only could he see again but his sight was tremendously increased. This let him see at incredible distances but also adapt to tremendous differences in lights very quickly. Not only that but When Causter gets stressed and adrenaline is pumped into his body his powers tend to act up even more. His eyesight becomes such that his eyes and optical nerves process light 1000X faster then normal. This results in everythign appearing to move really slow around Causter. His brain became capable of reacting and ordering the muscles around at that incredible reaction rate and it gives off the impression that he’s moving incredibly quickly. However, if this is kept for too long the brain becomes way too stressed and severe migrains followed by blindness and death can be experienced.
