I'm not sure if "The vision of Escaflowne" belongs here...
Sorry if it doesn't.

But, has anyone seen the anime or read the manga perhaps?
What did you think? Did you like it? or not?

I own the whole series.

It's pretty good but..some of the things in that show are rather corny.

Also i was not impressed with the mech battles.

But still, good show with good music.

I'm more for story, so I'm a fan of Escaflowne. I liked the manga more since it seems that they try to add to the story to make a 10 chapter story into an anime season. But, I'm still a fan of both.

Yea, I agree.
The relationship situation was all kinda jumble a little.

I like the anime and found the characters and plot development to be ok. They should have followed the ususal shoujo theme by making it more epic and having a 'bad guy' would have made it much easier to like the lead characters.

If you go into this series expecting epic mecha battles, you will probably die from the romance elements.

I believe they wanted to make the Anime gender neutral, with the mecha and shoujo romance.

I didn't mind the romance, and also I didn't mind all the mecha battles...

These things are guymelefs, slow moving things. So I wouldn't expect anything too great, but they were still enjoyable to watch. Then there's the technology with the Astredies, like the liquid metal (sword, shield, claw, sniper), invisibility cloaks, flight mode and flamethrower..

Escaflowne is quite different in character design and mecha design from the Manga series from what I've seen, not sure how it turned out though.

I have to admit I've seen the series and read all the manga..I own both.

I'm not a fan of the ending in either series, but its hard to compare the two as they both have competely different storylines..

It was a good show and whilst the romance of it was all over the place, it still promised to have a really good ending, and it was a little bit of a disappointment.

A very solid anime, that had three elements I like. Good animation, great soundtrack, and engaging storyline. The Mecha designs were unique too.
