Pirates of the Caribbean
Atlantis
1704
...
The normally vast sea of azure sky was a veil of ashen hues, lachrymose gray clouds filling every nook and crevice of the heavens as a heavy rain was cast hellward down upon the Caribbean sea. The former Captain of the Ceridwen's Pride lay comatosely on the deck floor, he was aged and had seen too many days of consecutive illness. It was certainly his time now, the haggard old man called upon his two most beloved crewmen, although love was something that couldn't really be a term used out in the harsh and feral world of piracy. Still the two crewmem, Josephine Lamort and James Amren approached their benefactor reluctantly as they were apprehensive of the malady that would soon terminate his life. Looking over to Josephine he gave her a cordial smile before turning to James and said to him with his final breath that he would become his successor. This infuriated Josephine and a little after their Captain's death she and the newly appointed Captain James disputed vehemently until finally Josephine left the Ceridwen's Pride and former dearly beloved friend saying only one thing:
" One day James, we'll meet again but I'll never be the same as before. Heed my wrath."
...
Tortuga
1705
The Urchin's Tavern
Bloody hell, Mon Dieu... Captain Lamort cursed herself as she was ambling toward the entrance of The Urchin's Tower, she would be damned if anyone would recognize her in this rather...scantily clad maid's frock. The crew had suggested this little accoutrement to better her chances of finding the map. Surely, she didn't oppose though frankly she abhorred the getup. As she entered the tavern, the heavy musky scent of decaying wood and carrion permeated the air around her, countless ragged seamen were gambling and laughing amongst themselves in a shallow drunken stupor that was seemingly common in the land of pirates; espcially here in Tortuga.
Icy eyes surveying the lot, her cold and penetrating gaze fell upon the lanky figure of an adolescent pirate, He was the one she was searching for. Flinging herself gracefully onto the adjacent vacant chair beside him her cold demeanor deliquescing into that charmingly innocent look that could flux a man's heart. Blinking rapidly, Josephine fiddled with her tenuous scarlet locks as rosebud lips curled mischiveously at the young pirate. Her smile sinful by default.
"Hey there darling, what's your name?"
" Jeffrey Hawkes, Captain Hawkes if you will lassy."
Captain Hawkes a mere 19 year old, barely experienced sailor had been appointed a pirate for his uncanny ability to steer a ship and for his possesion of the map that led to the undiscovered world of Atlantis. But he was young and could be easily manipulated. He stared gawkingly at the pulchritudinous woman that had settled juxtapose him. Rather cockily he extended her arm toward her, wrapping it around her lithe waist, his golden head tilting to focus his eyes on her, the wretched stench of alcohol palpable as he spoke.
" Would you like to see my map?"
"Your map?"
"Yes, a map to Atlantis!"
Clear blue eyes widened at this as Josephine faked a blush as he pulled her toward him. The arrogant teenaged corsair rambling on about how he had abtained such an exquisite object from the a ship that he used to work on. As he chattered unrelentingly, Josephine moved in closer, the map loosely hanging from the sash around his torso... she'd have to close the distance even more- which meant...
Snaking a hand behind his head, Captain Josephine Lamort kissed the unsuspecting lad, as he was lost in assumingly wild and amorously prepubescent thoughts, she'd snag the map before pulling away as she rose. Without even looking back, she turned on her heel to exit until another juvenile pirate slid his form between her and the doorway. Oh, for the love of Davy Jones what was with these lecherous teenagers these days? Couldn't they go find some bloody girl their age?
" Hey there sweetheart. How's about you come along with me and see my ship?"
Raising an imperial brow, she allowed her eyes to roll in utter disgust as she made a fist and sent it forth to connect with the soft cartilage of his nose. The young lad yelped in pain and then a bloody hell of a chaotic brash insued. Balled fists went flying in all directions, glass bottles shattered, cutlasses withdrawn, rum sadly spilled and with Josephine the tough assertive captain that she was, she'd have to join them in order to defeat them.
An intricate handled cutlass was drawn with one hand whilst the other a violent fist of fury. Look out boys...

"One day James, we'll meet again but I'll never be the same as before. Heat my bath."
Ah, such words of rapture, a departing gift to the dearest of friends pulled away by the forces of the world. Ah yes, the stunning beauty asking her betrothed companion to Heat Her Bath upon her return. Such a enthralling request and yet a poetic one at that. "One day James..."
Such was the nature of the reoccuring scene in the rum-laden mind of one Captain James Amren. Though his sober mind knew of the true words passed and promises made, by all accounts he was seemingly waiting for that skewed reality to take shape. And seeing as he was usually the former and not the latter, such a reality was more than "possible".
James would never have thought his childhood compatriot turned closest friend turned something...more, and he would have parted in such a way. Now feeling he had taken her company for granted, at times a flickering flame reminded him of her fire hued hair, the sky remnants of her crystal blue eyes and the untamed sea a constant vision of her unmatched temper. However none of that mattered as it was more than common to feel the anger and annoyance connected with the incident.
And for it to rain on such a reflection made it even worse.
-----------------
"Wait a tick...how the bloody hell did I get outside? I should be in that rat's den they call a tavern"
Said James to himself as the Captain had finally awakened from his...nap.
Lifting the gray bandana that currently covered his eyes to its postion on his forehead James wiped the "rain" from his face giving it a taste, there in realizing it was not rain but rum, a rather positive substitution of liquids, and finally made an attempt to look around. Rather at a loss for words, he found himself sitting in the middle of an all out brawl.
What had happened was anyones' guess and but nonetheless it was time for that old gentleman’s rule of etiquette...Take a Swig and Swing away.
Letting out a quite dejected yawn James took a swing of some liquid, which he hoped was just an off bottle of rum and then joined in the fray...sort of.
"Come on lads, surely we can resolve what ever has transpired"
Said James as he tried to bypass two bloodied pirates by offering them a bottle of rum, their newly obtained wound oddly familiar. He was hoping to use his "social skills" to avoid coming to blows, but that seemed like a no go as the two men charged towards him, their outstretched arms probably not offering a friendly embrace. Thus, with another dejected action, this time a long sigh, James ducked under their arms and swung the rum bottle across both their faces, causing him to lose a later refreshment and them the majority of their remaining teeth. Which then allowed James to make his exit out of the tavern, somewhat refreshed and nearly unscathed.
"Well thats a new way to wake up, reminds me of being in here with..."
"OWWWW Bloody Hell!"
Said James before he could continue as he was struck across the side of his face with a small, but powerful fist. Barely dodging the arced cutlass slash that followed, James quickly grabbed the stray fist and swung its' owner around so he could greet them so graciously as well.
However to his suprise...no wonder...no absolute discontent, it was her...Josephine.

The infamous Demon Eyes Reed sat upon the ledge of the ship L'Etoile De Morte, his legs dangling over the side above the tumultous sea below. The lot of the ship's crew had gathered on the dock, anxiously awaiting their faithful captain's return, but Reed hadn't bothered to leave the ship. He was hardly eager to be social with these people, he normally opted to drink alone and never joined in the sea chantys or participated any more then was absolutely necessary on the ship. He knew he was better then the lot of these bilge rats, and was sure to constantly remind everyone else of these facts.
The crew had suggested to the captain that she use her feminine wiles to retrieve the legendary map to Atlantis, although Reed had found the idea silly, he himself could have just as easily wandered in there and cut out the throat of the man with the map in his possession. Surely that would have been far more entertaining for him then sitting out here, awaiting his master's return like some obedient dog.
A deep sigh escaped the young mans lips as he ran a gloved hand through his long messy black locks. He rose from his seated position now, restless he walked along the ledge of the ship with unnatural like ease. His eyes, each of a different colour, scanned the horizon. It appeared that even the captain, despite her beauty, was still forced to resort to violence in order to attain the map. The tavern was suddenly roaring with activity. Reed smirked to himself ever so slightly, pulling out one of his cutlasses and swinging it full circle before sitting it's blade casually on his shoulder. He debated whether or not he should join the action. He decided not to make a move unless the rest of the crew moved first, and they were staying put for now.
The last thing Reed wanted to do was go out of his way for someone else's benefit, especially the captain's. But he didn't want to be on her bad side either. He had a reputation to preserve and build upon, and that single fact alone was worth everything. He would not end up a sorry fool like his father had been.. Pride was everything in this world of egos and ranks. Those who were too late to realize this were lost. And Reed would carve his name upon the world using his two blades.
"Let us hope our esteemed captain makes haste with our map.. lest my time was wasted here.." Reed muttered to himself. He still posessed somewhat more of a gentlemanly accent then a standard pirate's because of his origin, although the past few years he had been speaking with a bit of both tongues. The fact that his matter of speaking was so unordinary was another reason why he didn't bother talking when it was unnecessary.
Reed continued to pace across the ship's ledge, calm despite all the commotion occuring not too far away.

Christopher sat upon the deal of the ship close to the mast watching and waiting for his beloved captain to return. He held a smile across his face the whole time. Not worrying about her safety but knowing that he pushed many men would die.
He ran a clean hand across his hairless chin, rubbing it and then spiking his hair signaling that he was ready for action. "Reed......tell of what you think of this place and the fact that pirates such as these boneless fools, think they have the right to call themselves pirates?"
His words fell from his mouth with graced and never missed a beat. his speech was high class and almost majestic. It was something he learned being of a rich family. Having everything he wanted and more. Was to be married at the age of twenty one and then die at the age of fifty. His life had been planned for him from birth. He had escaped his fate more then once. Not even the time when the Port Royal Search squadron stopped the ship and had a royal decree stating that if anyone knew anything about him they could collect three hundred thousand Dollors from his family. The captain only laughed and threw them off the ship, toke their rum and set sail. That was two years ago. It had been three years now that he had been on this ship serving as her First Mate. He truely loved being a true pirate.

Scrawny sighed as she sat on the barrel and took another swig from the flask she had in her hand. Closing her eyes as the liquid burned his way down her throat "the captain is late and probely drunk". she wasent very excited about cleaing the captains cabin from vommit again but this was the life of a pirate "we fight, we steel, get drunk and vommit al over ourselfs" she muttered a slight blush covering her cheeks. The cargo was taken care off and they were waiting for the captain's return. She watched some of the pirates pass some were glancing at her other plainly ignored her. Scrawny was pretty aware she wasent a beauty and she could care less once they dressed her in a dress that showed alot of cleavage if she would had any anyways. as soon as she came on deck the whole crew was bursting with laugher and when they gave her a mirror she laughed along. She wasent a dolly girl like the royal girls, dressees and trickles werent her thing "i rather have a nice gun in my hand"she took another swig as she mused keeping a eye out for the captain.

Harth Marlance stood below where Reed was sitting, he was playing a small tune on his flute, the soud was gental and calm, he smiled a little bit at what Chris had said and in response said "Agreed, these mindless barbarians shouldn't put Me and pirates in the same sentence." He said giving a small chuckle. Harth was thinking about how she was going to get the map, or if she was even going to get it at all. "You know, I wouldn't really be surprised if a brawl started..." He sai d with another chuckle, and then taking a small drink from his cantine. Harth gave out a small sigh as the thought of what he had been through with those dogs that call themselves pirates. Harth was happy to know that there was some pirates who still had some class.

"Yes there are not true pirates. They may steal and break the laws but they will never know what it is to kill or to fight for a real pirate Captain."
He laughed and looked down at the water under the ship. It pushed and pulled the ship trying to sail free into the endless wonders of what we pirates called the deep blue sea.
Chris watched as a member of another ship was stealing rum from another ship. Chris got an idea and climbed the mast. He then grabbed some spare rope.
"Reed i'll be right back watch the ship."
Chris slicked his wrist and a small throwing knife appeared in his hand. It was something of a pleasure to see Chris at his best. He tied the rope to its handle and aimed at the ship closest to him. The same man was stealing more rum. Chris threw the dagger toward the man but was off. The dagger got caught in the ships sails and wrapped around the wooden mass. Chris pulled the rope making sure it would hold. He grinned and swung down the ship toward the unsuspecting pirate. The quickly snatched the rum from his hands and swung back to the ship where he landed next to Reed. He couldn't help but grin. He toke out a large bottle of the best rum and drank some. He didn't drink alot but today he did. He partyed while waiting for the captain.
He had pulled the rope and his dagger back. It was back hidden under his clothes. No one but the members of his crew and the pirate he stole it from saw him. This was the normal Tartoga. It brought out the killer in you and the thief. Chris had to much class to enter a simple brawl. But he wasn't half sober now was he?

Roger sat, facing the blue/black ocean, shining both from lights on boats and the phosphorescence beneath it. He sat with a pipe in hand, he had been interested in trying pipe smoking, but still hadn't found good enough pipe tobacco. He heard the others talking behind him, and didn't immediately get up and join. He did not fight, and speaking of fight, he thought, "That lass had be'er not get herself torn up," he cranked in his head. Pirates were not the easiest patients he'd ever dealt with.
Ah, well, shipmates were shipmates. He set his two feet down on deck and walked across to the others. He slipped his pipe into a pocket, only to have his hand blocked by a rolled up parchment. He tried another pocket, unsuccessfully, then finally found an empty one.
His bright, owlish eyes twinkled with reflected light and his light brown hair tussled a bit in a sea breeze, but he still smiled in his usual, warm way and said, "Nice evenin'," he gaze drifting up to the heavens before falling back down to the ship.

Pacing, back and forth about the dock where his Captain's crew e lain in wait, his hand over his cloak and clothed pocket at his side with studded red crosses about the leather-metal ringed harness over his life armor, his scales of human covering shading his natural body from the plight of sin and light. His long hair, shaded dark enough to be of purple hue, swaying some as the parts at the front came into the wind with his his so full and 'seemingly' yellow looking about.
The light from above beat upon him as he walked back and forth, to and fro like a metronome of thoughts and emotion. His iron will held on against the tides of wait as his patience, everlasting, was un-subsiding. He pulled out the leather bound tome from his pocket so queerly placed at his side, he had fashioned it himself when he realized he couldn't keep the good book out and about in the world he called home. Though he started flipping through the pages, reading as if it was to mean something outright at the situation. His voice so calm and quiet, in contrast to the loud activity within the tavern a little ways off.
He knew his Captain was enjoying himself, with his own pleasures in gluttony and sloth, but he didn't look down upon him for that. He looked up to him by swho he was and how he had been. Jai'in had always prayed for James, and always was there for counsel if his trusted Captain so needed it. Though his words were so few out and about, they struck at the point at hand usually, and that's the way he kept it.
Though these weren't chivalrous times indeed, he knew that his presence had made, if in the least, a small impact upon his fellow crew members. He'd always be there to listen, and always seemed to bring guidance through his calm perspective. How couldn't he? This pirate was saved!
"Oh Lord in heaven, deliver us from our sins, and bring us upon our lives to the fullest. Show us the way to our fate, for we are all under you the Holy Father." His voice was low as he spoke, his eyes yellow and bright then staring towards the tavern, knowing his Captain surely was alright. There would be many times ahead that he knew he'd be depended on, and with the sanctity of the Divine Hand he knew he'd guide his fellows to the graces of the natural world, God's world and his abundance.
"Yo ho yo ho, we're really bad eggs.." He whispered before smiling, holding 'The Good Book 'to his chest slightly, his steel forged Cutlass forged with three hearts growing smaller about the guard's radious. It was to stand for the heart of the Creator, the Creator's Will and those that were Created.

Kitten sat at the edge of the dock where the rest of the crew awaited Captain Joshephine to return from her short quest to retrieve the map. She gripped a bottle of rum in her hand which was almost empty. She chugged the remain amount of the strong liquor and tossed the bottle into the water, listening for the sound of the bottle hitting the nearly black water. Instead, she heard yelling and glass shattering coming from the tavern. She smirked and stood, a bellowing belch escaping her lips. She wanted to run over and join the scruffle, blow off any head that dared to think of her captain and amputate any hands that dared to touch the woman. She saw that Roger, that ship's navigator had joined them. "Evenin' Roger. You not thin' o' goin t' fight are ya now?" She asked with a wide grin and her hands on her hips.

Lady whistled a tuneless song to herself as she studied the water waiting for the Captain to return. She straightened her straw hat as if some of her wild tangles had escaped the confines of it. The rest of the crew was laughing and seemed to be having a merry time of it. Lady smiled as one of the men passed her.
"Lady, Scrawny's aboard" He mentioned.
Lady gave him her signature lop-sided grin and returned. "I'd care more about the captain" The man laughed and continued on. Lady's smile disappeared her dark blue eyes lost the merriment she'd put on. He was her least favorite and Lady found herself continually wanting to slash his throat.

Jacob looked out at the sea, thinking about his hometown, it's been quite sometime since he was last there. He let a breath out, turning his attention to the crew that was having fun. 'Probably drunk already' he thought, smiling. He would join them, if he could stand the taste and smell of rum. Truth be told, he found the drink disgusting, the smell burned his nose and he could tell the drink would burn his throat, just thinking of the idea of taking a swig of rum, made his throat burn
"I wonder if the captain is fighting down there." He muttered, looking up at the sky. 'Why do pirates enjoy fighting so much? It just causes more pain, they should talk their problems out like civilized men and women, not try to slit each other's throats. People would be happier without any violence...then again the world would be a boring place if there was no violence.' Jacob thought, yawning a bit.

Consider it a gift that's been long overdue
"Oy, you blundering buffoons. "
This was a bloody hell of a mess, the crew must've been highly impatient by now. She'd have to wrap things up, battling her way through what seemed like truly countless and neverending flying fists and clashes of swords, Josephine prepared to deliver a final blow before stumbling upon a loose wooden floor panel. Her balled fist connecting with an unexpecting pirate's cheekbone as she careened forward, her wrist soon caught by the victim's hand as she was rather harshly thrust in front of him.
"Watch it now, you son of a- ...James?"
A discombobulated expresion suddenly appeared on her pale facade, a slight smile formed at the sight of her long time companion and now adversary- and then it faded. The same cold-hearted mask was up once more as she flung the other fist that clenched her cutlass toward the side of his head as she jerked the caught arm away. The impact of the punch enough to send the other captain to fall back onto the sandy terra firma, a rather haughty glare and smirk procured by simple satisfaction.
"I do believe that was overdue, love."
Upon further surveying her once lover, a crestfallen feeling crept in the deep confines of her mind, shaking her head slightly to prevent any sudden and unwanted memories of their past; fiery hair glimmering in the moon's light. With a humph, she abruptly turned from him as she yanked the hem of her confining gown that was slightly caught on the door hinge of the tavern. Quickly glancing at him with those icy azure eyes, she couldn't help but scoff slightly at how he appeared. He was palpably drunk either that or he was still seeing the little yellow birds circumnavigating his cranium. And that same lazy buttheaded and somewhat smug expression still pasted on his regretfully handsome face.
"The Ceridwen's Pride is not fit for these waters, idiot."
Once she freed herself, she left James to himself as she sauntered toward the docks, where a handful of the crew awaited and looking rather restless. Observing her beloved and magnificent ship, the L'Etoile de Mer, she noticed the familiar sails of the Ceridwen's Pride. A disappointed sigh escaped before she pulled out the map and approached her shipmates. Flinging the map toward Roger the navigator, she also tossed a bag of gold coins onto the deck that she had snagged from some pirate in the insuing battle in the tavern.
"All right you scurvy dogs, set the flags and make good to clear the port! Christopher take the helm and steer the ship starboard. Sorry for the long wait men, there was a bit of a ruckus at the tavern but help yourself to the loot. Y'know the drill."
Josephine then strolled over to the stern, not yet wanting to change into her normal attire, she leaned agaisnt the taffrail as she wistfully gazed out at the dock. The Captain really was quite pleased with her crew, they all had great character and regardless what could happen, she would see to their heart's content. Although... she would require some rum later after that unpleasant reunion and she would need lots of it...

Chris threw his half empty bottle into a crowd and watched as his captain returned. He had his orders and ran to the helm where he steered the ship where she said. He yelled at the pirates sending them into a scramble.
"You heard the captain. This ship is leavin now get that mast open and turned toward the wind. Prepare the cannons for combat if needed. And will one of you god forsaken pirates get are captain some rum."
Chris's voice was like thuder but at the same time it had a scent of peace in it. The ship pulled off and set sail. Chris watched the sea and looked back hoping no one was following them. Once free Chris went to his captains side and stood beside her. A olderly man had taken the helm. He couldn't stay long or he would forget what he was doing.
"You look like you have meet Davy Jones and rode aboard the Dutchmen. Tell me what did you see?"

Reed was listening to two of his crewmates entering into a discussion of what a true pirate was. He had heard that man-- Chris was his name if he recalled correctly, addressing him but he payed him no mind and continued to face the tavern in the distance, his thoughts seemingly elsewhere as he listened to the music being played from Harth's flute.
Their conversation uninvitingly tossed about in his mind. He bore no grudge with the island of Tortuga. It was here he had begun his life anew. But this debate of what made a true pirate, that was a questionable subject. Certainly the definition of a pirate was a sailor who pillaged at sea, but the true essence of being a pirate was questionable. Any man could kill or steal, that characteristic didn't make them a pirate. Reed supposed that a true pirate's merit should be weighed with the extent of his freedom. A pirate was free from rules, free from ethics, free from morality and honor. That was a pirate, a free man, was it not? Reed wondered if even he fit into that category.. although he made no motion to voice any of this thoughts aloud.
"Reed i'll be right back watch the ship." Reed tilted his head sideways, meeting Chris with his sharp gaze as he muttered a "Hn" in affirmation. He was content right where he was anyhow, standing on the ship's ledge like a hawk perched upon a branch.
Reed's eyes remained upon Chris while the man about his own age swung down upon a nearby ship in order to acquire some rum. He shook his head slightly as Chris landed directly adjacent to him, opening the bottle and taking a swig. Reed didn't drink rum often himself, usually when he did he ended up blacking out and awakening to find that he had caused some sort of disaster.. often times a massacre..
Well, it wasn't as though he had earned his name of Demon Eyes Reed by being a gentle soul. Pirates native to Tortuga knew his name, beings it was they who had bestowed it upon him through hushed whispers and a multitude of rumours. It was true that his steely, two different coloured eyes had been the basis for the name. They were a completely uncommon trait, and men who did not know better believed him to be some supernatural being, which he entertained by striking them glowering stares whenever they gathered the courage to look him in the eye. Reed's earned name though had been further emphasized by his growing reputation as one of the most cutthroat pirates in Tortuga, never showing a hint of mercy and always taking full pleasure in overpowering his victims.
-------------------
Reed hopped from the rail as he sighted their captain heading towards the ship. It was about time, he thought to himself. While the captain ratted off her quick announcements he sheathed his cutlass that he had forgotten was seated upon his shoulder still.
Reed didn't hold a position of stature on this ship (not yet anyways, he thought to himself) so he simply lended his strength to help make ready the sail. Like hell would he be the one to fetch the captain's rum, he was no errand boy.

Kitten spotted the captain coming back she abandoned her thought of starting a conversation with Roger and immediatly made her way back to the ship's deck. She heard Captain Josephine begin to bark orders and Kitten was standing by the sails by the time the woman was on board. She turned and unwrapped the rope from it's pole and tossed it back to the men. With that, they began to set the sails, as ordered.
Once the ship had set sail, Kitten grabbed a handful of coins. She never took more or less. She placed the coins into a sack hanging from her belt which was already filled with a healthy amount of gold and looked up at the captain who had not changed out of the treacherous maid's outfit she was clad in. She thought that the lay would need something to drink. She knew that the captain liked her rum. Kitten ran, grabbed a bottle and popped the cork off, then made her way to the captain. "Don' mean to disturb you both. Jus' thought that captain would like 'er rum," she said, her English accent obvious in her speech. "I could come back la'er o' course, if I am botherin'."

"Aye, I should have suspected as much"
Said James as he found himself upon a bed of sand, watching nearly five Josephines pass by him. For most in his position it would seem quite the unlucky string of events, getting punched twice by his former companion who's reaction to seeing him was nothing short of a maelstrom of rage. But, for James it was a rather extreme way of getting himself back into the swing of things.
"Well, at least both sides of my face hurt equally now"
Said James as he slowly pulled himself up and tried to regain his center of balance. Taking a quick look around him, James noticed the assortment of the groaning and incapacitated pirates who were strewn across the entrance to the tavern. The poor lads, they had obviously been unaware of who they were dealing with. Nonetheless, it added to the stock of Captain Amren as he still remembered who he was after not one but two strikes from that brutish vixen Captain Josephine Lamort.
But wait, why the bloody hell did she have to show up here…and at that moment, thought James as he picked up and pocketed the various coin pouches of the “Lamorted” pirates. He then tried to recall what had happened in the tavern prior to the brawl. He remembered there was some young lad with a large mouth, announcing his prized possession to all with working ears. Something about having a map to Atlantis, a wild claim, but not wild enough to put a damper on James’ interest.
And having such an interest He called upon the “weight” he held within the tavern, using a parade of various tavern girls to create a makeshift “copy” of the map…each of them asking to see it for a kiss or another drink. After catching a glimpse of the said map, each girl would draw her portion of the map from memory onto the copy. A rather elaborate scheme and investment (the tavern girls were rather pricey to pay off), for a skeleton copy of the odd map, but it was all James needed as he had confidence in his Navigator’s ability and his own for that matter to account for the lack of detail.
However, after putting things together and brilliant as the scheme was, it meant that Josephine had the original map and the advantage…James was slightly amused and impressed by his former friend's tactics, for it was much like something he would have thought of.
“Blast you Lamort, since when do you actually Plan things out?!”
Vented James as he unsteadily sprinted towards his ship and waiting crew. Next to his ship and just departing was the recently famed L’Etoile de Mort. It was truly a masterful ship but still it couldn’t match the ashy gray almost ghostly appearance of the Ceridwen’s Curse…well at least to his eyes.
“All hands at the ready…hoist the sails and unfurl Her colors…for there is treasure to be had!”
Shouted James as he hopped aboard the ship and took on a forceful but not overly dominant tone. He quickly strode toward the opposite end of the ship, still mindful of giving orders.
“Jai'in mind the poor appearance of the map, set us a course…Lady get the crew to sailing shape…Atlantis my mates, to Atlantis we sail!”
James quickly tossed the makeshift map, which was tucked in the sheath of his boot knife, to Jai’in and then proceeded to nearly hang off the edge of the ship, but not before getting the ship moving.
"Oy, hear my words Josephine...This may be no place for the Pride...But Oh the Ceridwen's Curse, she be right at home!"
Shouted James, his voice booming and echoing across the sea.

Roger almost fumbled the map, but he managed to keep hold of the parchment and unfurling it. A look of puzzlement was drawn accross his face, and he turned to get to his worktable. He looked up occaisonally to not stumble, run into another crewperson, and get down the stairs.
His work area was a warmly lit table with a large, detailed map of the Caribbean, mainland, and Atlantic. Several lamps brought light, easy on the eyes, illuminating Roger and his charts, in more ways than one. He laid the Atlantis map flat against the larger map and stared. Stared some more, and frowned slightly. These maps were not lining up. These islands were not familiar and not listed. Assuming they weren't islands that weren't 'new' like Atlantis, they had no place in this ocean.
More frowning, more staring, more working.

at the sight of her captain scrawny hopped off the barrel and half walked and half swaggert to the walking plank. Then she did what happened atlist 50 % of the time she was drunk and walking on the boarding plank. She miss stepped and coulden't regain her balance. Her she moved her arms like a bird for minute and then fell into the water with a large splash.
she spitted out water as she came up and heard someone yell "scrawny fell of the boarding plank again!"and then the roar of laughter.
she hmpfed and climbed back on the dock after a few minutes she was on the boarding plank again and moved into the schip looking like soaked cat and glared at the laughing crew.

John Arwen sighed walking upon the area upon the top of the vessel he was meant to be on. John was an impatient man who loved war, loved the smell of gunpowder, a war built man. He was wishing that Ceridwens vessel would leave port and find a battle. His captain knew that John always itched for battle all the time. John sat down against the wooden floor of the vessel leaning against the cabin’s wall drawing his pistol cleaning it with a rag.
“Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirates Life For Me…” John Began to sing to himself out loud.
John sat, still impatient wondering where his captain was.

Harth jumped up onto the ship and walked around the ship waiting to head out. He walked swiftly, playing his flute for entertainment to the others, he still heard the brawl from the tavern, surprisingly he began to play with the random yelling and punching, making it sound dramatic. He then stopped playing and looked to his captain "Captain, where are we headed?" He asked tilting his head a little. He drew his cutlass and took out a small rag, he wipped it down a little and then smiled "Another time...my friend." He said withdrawing his cutlass.

The captain was returning, and he seemed serious to boot. Well up and on, into the fray and great to go. More or less. He'd always wait like that while his captain was away, and as soon as his captain had made his way near him then past him he was following right behind him.
He climbed onto the ship behind James, following him where he went about the ship. He noticed the moonlight was particularly clear and shining brightly. He saw it as a sign of God, and he had awaited Jame's order. Lo' and behold his captain procured a map, a makeshift map to boot, but still a map. Soon he saw it flying towards him and with a swift hand he brought it to his view, placing his Bible in his oddly fashioned pocket before opening the scroll of parchment.
'My my, God has sent me a door part gray. Wonder's me, maybe I should inquire about the maps condition..' His thoughts were interrupted when he was ordered to mind the quality.. Gracious be! But he wouldn't complain. Jai'in simply let the scroll to his chest and bowed lightly before heading off into the inner areas of the ship with the map.
The moon may had been clear enough, but he needed the light of candles to make sure the low quality details made sense. He sensed that this map was drawn out by a female's hand. 'Captain, have you enlisted the help of those mephistresses again? Well, they got the job done me thinks...' His thoughts went on as he attempted to align the map, over and over he didn't seem to understand what the issue was.
"James.. You gave me a leper of a map." He said softly as he let his aggitation swim away.

Lady was happy to jump into action. Animatedly she called orders to the crew. It was her favorite part of it. Yelling at men while obeying the Captain's orders. Everyone seemed to know her partiality to this part. She came most alive during these moments. It was the only time when she was truly happy. Oh sure she feigned merriness for the crew laughing along with them but she hated most of them. Lady was efficent with her job she got everyone together remarkably fast for a woman not to mention a tiny one. But Lady enjoyed when others underestimated her it made all the more fun to beat them. She didn't smile very much when she did this but it was easy to see she liked it by the spark in her eyes.

Ceridwen's Purse?
Josephine raised her brow in a perplexed manner before realizing that James had actually said "curse." Ceridwen's Curse? Alliteration? That was a laugh. The captain chuckled slightly before it developped into a full low mellifluous and infectious laugh. Once she had regained composure she merely smiled toward Kitten and told Christopher that it was nothing. Captain Lamort didn't want to risk looking like such a sentimentalist, thus she sent them off to work at her own behest. After delivering a set of orders she disappeared into the one of the lower decks of the ship, only to return once again sporting her normal attire; tricorne hat and all, before sauntering about the ship. Fastiduously surveying each crew member carrying out their given occupations, she nodded to each of them, satisfied.
Ambling over to Reed she took over the helm and permitted him to take a break. A lovely zephyr passing in the warm night's air as a cooling sea mist whorled up and agaisnt the sides of the Etoile de Mort. It was an extraordinary ship, with it's intricately carved masts and atramentous sails, but was Captain Lamort liked best was its effeciency and speed.
"We're heading to Atlantis, mates!"
Glancing over to Roger she noticed his discombobulated expression as he speculated the maps.
" Roger! How are you doing with the maps? There be coordinates yet?"

When Rums Not Enough?
After letting his voice echo through the calm night's air, Captain Amren eased both feet back onto the floor of his ship. Undoubtedly, Josephine had heard his words and as he let a brief smirk cross his face, James assumed she would have probably answered them with some snide remark. Nevertheless, it was the best he could come up with in his rushed, half-witted attempt at a comeback. There was no denying Josephine had got the better of him this day, both physically and more regretfully mentally...James took great pride in his ability to outwit or outword his opponent.
"Oh Lamort you blasted fishwife...just as cruel and underhanded as ever, not to mention that darned left hook"
Said James as he gingerly rubbed the sides of his face and slowly made his way over to the ship's wheel to ensure it's direction as it was now up to speed. Then after a few moments of simply standing in place, James' eyes seemed to light up as he found something that would help him recover.
"That left hook...Ah yes!, any man could see that I was physically unable to offer the full extent of my linguistic arsenal...Yes thats simply it, she couldn't deal with me on an even level so she had to enact measures of desperation!"
Cooed James as he seemingly patched his ego by creating a logical explanation that worked in his favor.
"Ah well, this calls for a drink...or perhaps two depending on how far this cheek of mine is going to swell"
"Lady my lass, I leave the deck in your ever capable hands"
Said James as he strode up next to his firstmate. Not having the passion nor aptitude for voicing himself loudly to the crew, James often left the well voiced Lady to handle things of the nature. She was able to carry out his orders swiftly and with vigor, abilities that made her his prized firstmate. In fact James was content with all of his crew as they all took orders with little or no question and worked hard when needed.
"Oh, and unless something along the lines of oh, the ship splitting in half...which I will surely be aware of...I'd ask not to be bothered for the rest of the night"
With that James gave Lady a nod and made his into the lower part of the ship where he stopped by small area where his Navigator Jai'in had his assortment of items.
"Jai'in my good man...I'd like you to join me for a drink in my quarters and bring that map as well"
Said James as he gave a small knock on a nearby wall to get his mate's attention. Seeing as his navigator was a man of the book, James did his best to be less of his usual carefree self. Few on the ship has ever seen James' more serious or thoughtful side, however Jai'in was one of the few James trusted enough or respected enough to make an effort towards being as such.
"Oh and not to worry about the drink...I'll put a kettle on for you"
With that James made his way to his captain's quarters, where among other things he'd be left to feel the full effects of his "Lamorted" face, which was now throbbing wild with pain...a pain perhaps even rum couldn't help...though that was something even James couldn't bring himself to seem as logical.

Chris toke his leave and stood below deck in his room. It was small but served it's purpose. He could sleep, practice and eat in this place so it would be fine. Chris returned to the deck of the ship and stood few feet from the captain. He looked at the ocean and toke a deep breath before shouting out some commanding instructing the men to maintain the ship course according to the captains orders. He yelled at some of the men for trying to steal rum. They were typical pirats but they were members of this ship. That was the only reason Chris went through the trouble.

" Well James, I'm impressed to see you are sober enough to remember my preference. " He had spoke with a small smile, bringing his two maps: That of which was the original of the world charted so far and those of that area along with the makeshift schematic of a map he was ordered to lay out the course for. " Though the kettle sounds nice, me thinks' God made tea for those who's rather be dis-sober with the feeling of warmth. "
He knew that his captain, though respectful of his ways, wasn't the most religious man. As such he tried to keep his metaphors and other short sayings involving the 'good Lord' to a minimum. Perhaps it would be the best course of action in the long run, lest he make his captain irritable from his own short lived and seemingly rare words.
" I have to tell you of the map, so haste I ask. "
But beyond all that he followed along James to where his Captain called 'his quarters', it was indeed his 'home' inside his 'home' that was sailing about his 'home' that was the sea and the sun as well as the stars. It was at best his home too, being that he was a member of the ship and out at sea as pirates should be. But what kind of pirate was Jai'in really?
"We are rascals, scoundrels, villans and knaves,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho!
We're devils and black sheep, we're really bad eggs,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho!"
He couldn't help but think of that part of the song, the song about him and his 'kind'. He couldn't help this as he walked with his captain, how so un-pirate like he seemed. Yet at the same time did he not take part in fights? Or take some of the treasure with a smile? He did, and he supposed that even God has a sense of humor. He must have, even if he is a serious god.

Harth continued to play on his flute a gental melody, he had a small smile on his face, and he walked around briskly and spun around slowly, his cape blowing in the gental wind. He closed his eyes and let his music go through one ear, and then out the other. A few seagulls land to listen to his melody, the sound was so graceful that it was said to tame any animal. In his sense anyway, he looked up in the sky and continued to play, his blue eyes sparkling in the sun.

"Sober? Not quite my friend...but I'm well enough aware to realize a possibly lucrative discovery when I see one"
Said James as he entered his captain's quarters and slowly eased into his rather shoddy, yet welcomingly comfortable chair. Taking a look around one would notice that James' quarters were suprisingly neat and organized, a somewhat direct contrast of his outward behavior. Candles softly glowing, various books and trinkets resting upon the warn shelves of the space, gave off an aura of what some might describe as a comforting hominess.
"I once again apologise for the..."condition" of that map, however it was the best I could come up with seeing as I had to act rather hastily"
Clearing a space on his desk/table for the map, James gave a motion for Jai'in to have a seat. Then after taking a "quick look" under his desk, his lips somehow finding themselves taking a shot of rum, he returned to an upright position and gave the navigator a small smile.
"That map is the supposed way to the lost city of Atlantis my good man...however as you may notice it is lacking detail"
Said James as he poured both of them a small cup of tea and leaned foward as if what was being said was some matter of secrecy.
"There in, I'd like to get your initial opinion of this map and how it matches up to our charts...for unfortunately we are not graced with time on our side this time."
With that James leaned back on his chair and gave a deep sigh, lightly pinching the bridge of his nose.
"In fact Jai'in, the closest thing on these seas to Davy Jones himself has the original map, making our job one bloody hell of one"

Reed revealed a hint of a smirk as he looked alongside himself towards their leader, the ever so charming Captain Josephine Lamort, taking a full swig of rum that had been handed to her by one of the deck peons.
"Heh, so ye didn't fancy the dress I take it?" Reed said teasingly in his usual cool and collected tone that oozed with overconfidence, a very apparent quality and flaw he bore.
It was obvious that Reed thought rather highly of himself, especially to be making cracks about the captain of the vessel.

With what tendency he had he slapped the original map, the one they'd use as a trace reference to know where to go. Jai'in pulled the seat up to the table to the right of James' table side, where he'd sit when business would be conducted. With a flourish of his dark hair, purple like in the slightly dim candle lit room he spoke with a voice as serious as content would make happy and sad infused. Or at least in a sense.
" Look James, the maps don't line up. You see Tortuga? " He pointed out their location in general on the original, and then flipped over the new map over it. It didn't match at all. This made Jai'in a slight bit aggravated on the inside, seeing they'd have to have a course soon and by the looks of it would be going on a giant sea serpent chase. Though he had seen one himself, that's a different story and doesn't influence any difference in their situation.
" It just isn't there. " He pointed at the Atlantian map, then had his finger scan the lines up and about the guides. " Anything that even looks like it is far off and seemed different. I'm sorry James but they don't line up like this. " After he said that he eased back in his seat crossing his arms, he'd be silent then. He made his point and awaited the next move. Knowing he'd have to sit down and study it after this meeting, he thought it was a mystery he had to unlock one way or another, and he didn't appreciate how God sent him his door.
'In all the ways, by bird or by blasted siren, why must you send me a bloody door with a crooked knob?' He asked the Lord above in his head, wondering what this 'leper of a map' had in store for him to decipher and decode. But until Jame's gave the word he had to wait, and as a good pirate would do ( Heaven forbid a good pirate ) he sat with patience.

Roger cast a glance at his captian, and said, "Captain, I'm afraid ye got ripped off on this. I mean, look at this." He said, stepping aside to that Josephine could see the sheet. "I think you left some poor bloke in Tortuga laughing his head off. I-mean, look. The islands don't match up. None of it matches up. You can't go to an island when you can't see where it is next to another island."
He sighed, and wished he had a chair that he could sit in here. But, no chairs meant that he had reason to work quickly. He leaned on the table, to make up for it. He turned his head to see Reed swagger up and talk about the captain's serving-girl-turned-prostitute(he guessed) attire. Ah, drunk blowhards who think with their muscles. Josephine could hurt him if she wanted too.

James had listened closely to the analysis provided by his navigator. And while the news wasn't all that positive, it had been what he had expected to come from an initial stage. He was however somewhat pleased as he knew his former mate would be in a similar quandary.
"Ah well, I figured as much...I did not expect such a map to provide a clear path, let alone one even close to being possible"
Said James as he moved in a little closer and ran his hand over the recreated map.
"However, as much skill as I may have in navigation, I know you are my better and therefore will not simply let a puzzle such as this go unsolved. And in accordance that is the reason why you are here and the others as well...I have assembled a crew that is in its own regard a puzzle, for each member can add something, especially in the areas that I may lack"
James then paused a moment and looked out the small window of his quarters, the ship seeming to hang on every wave and pulse of wind.
"Cohesion my good man...that is the closest thing you'll find out here to the writings of civility in that book of yours...no man is fully better than another, only in small pieces do we seemingly excel over another"
With that James let out a rather loud yawn and rubbed his eyes, still being mindful of his now bruised face.
"And with that I leave you to your own accord, I shall see you sometime during this next day as we will continue to plot this hellish course of ours"
Said James as he gave Jai'in a nod and a slight smirk.
"I would ask that the latter annals of our conversation be left unsaid...For I am in no current condition to fend off any would be suitors to my captaincy, that may catch wind of my "outlook" on things."
"And while I stand by my view my good man, I find to be in my position it's best to have more of those pieces than everyone else"
Said James as he laughed and placed his arms atop his head, slowy easing back into his chair for a much needed rest.

So here's where it begins?
Order in the Court
CRACK. A frighteningly sharp blade lambasted through the air, chipping the side of the wooden steering wheel, the cutlass' tip sweeping mere inches from the bridge of Reed's nose before Captain Lamort returned the weapon at her side. A look of utter malevolent fury graced her beautiful countenance, icy eyes a hail of dagger's that could penetrate the heart with a single glance but the storm quickly subsided as she smiled half-heartedly.
"Just a fly..."
Smirking inwardly, Josephine regained her composure fully before turning to Reed, an all-too-knowing expression of his resentment for her. Perhaps it was just as well, being overly attached to one's crew led to weakness. Besides, how else could she run this ship with an iron fist if she ended up as overly sensitive? Adding weak links to a chain was pointless, so why bother putting up any links at all? With that, Josephine lifted a shoulder in a negligent shrug in response to Reed's earlier remark on her rather scandalous costume.
"Take the wheel."
Descending from the upper deck, the monotonous clicking of heels could be heard as the full moon cast an eerie shadow over Captain Lamort's silhouette. Well, well, well if it isn't Miss Bossy. What a...witch. Not even glancing at Roger, she held the map to the light and carefully surveyed it. He was right, the islands and other objects on the map weren't aligned or adding up at all. BAM. A fist to the top of the table connected in a furious descent in disappointment.
Josephine could see her reflection in the small pint of rum on the musky wooden table, a clear image of the map just beneath her face in the metallic drinking glass; she smiled. The map wasn't a fake at all, it was just...mirror-imaged.
"Roger, try looking at it with a mirro- What the bloody hell is this?"
Captain Lamort was once more disappointed, a portion of the map had been ripped off. The small tear of the bottom right corner of their precious map had been snagged. Sacre bleu, merde...hell and damnation. Curse Lady Luck for being on the opposing end. Now what? They could follow the course but eventually they'd end up stuck. Perhaps the missing piece was on the ship?
"All right lads! Search the entire ship for the missing part of the map! Or so help you God the wrath of Lamort shall fall upon Tortuga with a vengeance."
Can you say cadavera er innumera? Truly countless bodies.
****OOC: This may sound weird, but to my crew: please do not find the missing piece of the map.

"You heard the captain search the ship you worthless good for nothing pieces of filth."
Chris ran down to the deck of the ship and pulled out both his guns. It was amusing that one someone had stole part of the map and was planning to leave them. Two someone tricked the captain and they would return the favor by killing everyone. Anyway it went someone would pay.
"While your at it men how about you allow me or the captain to check your belongings."
Chris turned back toward the captain to see if she approved. In all the years he had been on this ship this was the first time something like this had happened.

Reed's eyes watched her as she lowered her cutlass. Testing the captain was the most Reed could do for now, and he certainly was impressed.. very impressed. He released the grip on his own cutlass, which, he noted, would have been drawn too late to save himself from quite a deep scratch. He couldn't help the sly grin on his face as he obediently took the wheel, still watching her as she walked past, speaking to Roger. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed the stout navigator of the ship was shooting him a look. Reed shrugged it off, now was not the time to pick fights, even he was not that foolish.
Reed remained at the helm, amused as he watched the men and women of the crew scurry about the ship in desperate search for the map. If this voyage is a lost cause.. Well then it appears I'll be needing to get on a different ship.. He thought to himself.

" Unsaid it be said, so unsaid it will be. Evenin' in your pleasure captain. " A tip of his head and a kiss to his two fingers; index and middle as well as a tap to his forehead and then a flick outwards, this all signaled a salute of his, and so it was done. His hand came about his tea cup so eagerly, and with a slight breach in etiquette he gulped it down realizing he didn't have time to finish it.
After such..
He stood up from his seat, drawing into his grasp all the necessary maps and tools he had brought along, rolling up his writings with the utmost care and dignity. At that he set the tea cup back down on James' desk. It really was his job to be his captain's better, but to think oneself over others wasn't the best idea. Envy could lower your tolerance and overconfidence could lower your guard. Two things you needed well on the open sea and ruthless waves of change, as well as water.
From the Captain's room to his own, the navigator's 'sanctum', he let himself to the large table in the flat open room where the light of the moon so full drew through and accentuated the candle light. The windows harboring such luminescence seemed the lighted doors he was looking for all along. Yet he drank the remains of a juice in an odd shining tin like mug. He slapped it, empty against the map's edge and sighed gently.
' You wont give me any lean-way, will ye'? ' He bumped the table, the cup rolling to the floor and falling into the moonlight. For a second he didn't realize the light that came down from the ceiling, and his eyes so yellow widened at the pin pointed light about the edge of the map. He looked up and noticed that there was a large golden framed mirror against the ceiling.
" Odd, how'd that get there? " He said aloud as the reflection of the Altantian map entered his eyes, and what a spectacle it was. " Cunning sure, this map is in the reverse.. I have a long night ahead of me, I believe so. " With those words he closed his eyes and prayed in thanks, hastening the words before getting down to business. He had much more figuring to do before he could report it.
Coincidentally, a few of the nameless characters about the boat were searching for a mirror they had found on their last raid. Little did they know that their third friend hid it somewhere they'd never think to look.

Even before Jai'in had left, James had drifted off to a light shallow sleep. His mind wandered and replayed the days events as well as events long since passed. One of which being a simple routine day on the Ceridwen's Pride. The Pride seemed to hang and curve around everyway, she lacked the impressive speed of most newer ships but oh was she elusive, seemingly taking the quickest route all on her own. From that uneventful occurance, James' mind shifted to the conversation he had just had with his navigator.
He inwardly laughed and chided himself for sounding so idealistic or naive...though even with the title of a pirate he still could not, not believe his words. One word that seemed to replay more than the others though who "cohesion".
Blast it as he only recalled saying it once, but it continued to be inserted after every "replayed" word. Cohesion?...Cohesion...yes now it seemed to sound right and make sense.
Just then James awoke from his light nap, his feet creating a large boom as they returned to the floor from their previous spot on top of his desk.
"Ha ha, that's it...it's so easy yet so brilliant at the same time!"
Exclaimed James as he hopped up from up his chair and grabbed the saluting sailor in his cabin by his shoulders and shook him lightly.
"Why search for the treasure on our own, when can work together...without actually working together!...Oh John my lad, there are surely tasks to be done!"
James then grabbed John by the arm and pulled him along until they exited the captains quarters and reached the top deck, where most of the crew were beginning to try their hands at drifting off.
"Hoist the sails into the night sky lads, but dare not unfurl Her colors...for we sail under the shroud of night!"
Called James as he quickly took the wheel and spun it back and forth until the ship was on a course to his liking, more specifically one to the ship to their north. He then motioned for John to keep hold of the wheel, as he then jumped up and balanced himself on a side of the ship.
"Aye cohesion my lads, through cohesion lies our way to Atlantis...and that way be ever so graciously guided by the l'Etoile de Mort!"

Strolling up the stairs to head toward the helm, Josephine noticed the slight silhouette of a ship in the distance. It seemed strangely familiar and yet not... there was eerieness to it as it approached. And then it hit her, it was the Ceridwen's Curse. What the bloody hell did he want? Quickly advancing to the mast, Captain Lamort grabbed one of the hanging ropes, hopped onto a low boom and swung over to the top of the ship's riggings to get a better look at the adversary ship.
"Drop the anchor! NOW."
Whatever the hell you are thinking of James Amren, it better be a bloody good idea. She smirked slightly in amusement, normally it was Captain James who did any planning. He was the brains, she was the brawns and beauty. In any case, she'd have her ship stop and see what her dear old companion had in mind.
"FIRE a warning cannon towards the proximity of the enemy ship, but do NOT hit it."
So what will you do now, James?

Chris sheathed both guns and ordered them to follow the captains orders. Chris toke the helm and watched the ship closely. Once they were in range Chris have the order. The cannon was set off with a bang and a large splash erupted under water cause a backlash of water to reach for the skies getting some of the opposing ships pirates wet.
"What now. Will they try and board the ship or start a cannon fight?"Chris thought hard as they prepared for battle. So James what would you do to Lamort's attack? Time to find out?

"Hmm, thats rather odd...either that ship isn't as fast as they say it is or something isn't quite right"
Thought James to himself as he moved back over to take the wheel, upon seeing that his was ship gaining exponentially on the l'Etoile. James knew the more logical choice was the latter reasoning to the closing of the gap between the two ships, though how grand of an occurance would it be to be able to out sail that woman. This minor detail was something he had overlooked as he never expected a ship under the command of Josephine Lamort would let any other catch up if treasure was at stake.
Therefore, with an eyebrow raised, James quickly cycled through the possible inhibitors that his old mate had come across. A sick crew member? No Josephine would have them tough it out and more than likely they'd do so willingly, A problem with the ship? Perhaps, though highly unlikely due to the amount of treasure Josephine had taken with her when they parted and the amount was more than enough to obtain a flawless vessel. If these possiblilties could be ruled out than what was the problem?
"Well this more than complicates things now"
Sighed James as he heard a loud boom echo through the air, which was quickly followed by a moderatley large spray of sea water across the ship.
"A warning shot?...Oh Josephine you have changed, just as promised"
James quickly checked the ship to make sure it was an unheard of warning shot by the fiery captain and then proceeded to make his counter measure.
"Remember this day lads, for we can say we received a pass from the vengeful sea tyrant herself!"
Shouted James as made sure to keep his crew calm and collected, knowing he himself needed that frame of mind if he was going to deal with Josephine.
"I'm bringing the Curse to a shouting distance, we'll settle this matter like civilized sea fairing folk...so keep yer mouths closed and let your captain do the talking"
With a hearty laugh James guided the Ceridwen's Curse to a safe distance, where he hoped he wouldn't have to come face to face...or more importantly face to fist with his graciously accommodating friend.

" That's it! " With that he held up the newly drawn out map and course in his hands, smiling slightly at his work, the work of the Lord himself stemming from his hands. He rolled it up and tied it into a leather case, before kissing the top of it. " James is going- " He was interrupted when he felt the ship's sudden rocking back and forth. He heard the metal colliding with the water and the splash of water against her side.
Taking hold of his leather'd map and his forehead, he sighed gently at the crash which stirred the room. He started to wonder what exactly was going on out there that caused such a splash, one that sounded like the hit of a cannon plummeting through the ocean surface.
Jai'in reached the outer deck with his yellow eyes so narrow at everything, starting to watch the other crew members do their jobs as the captain shouted for them to all keep their mouth shut. That wasn't a problem for him, but it was his duty to tell the captain of his success. Though as his navigator and friend he stood to the man's left rear, slipping the leather wrapped map in between his form and the buckles that held his clothes together near his left side.
His eyes at that point drew about the form of a ship, and he then realized where the crash came from. ' That's nice, might we be killing under His will tonight? Rather not, but can't be helped if it wont be. ' Holy Man had brought his left hand over to the cutlass sheathed in black leather, said hand ready to draw either the sword of the pistol at his waist.

Kitten rolled her eyes at the cabin boy and pushed herself lazily from the wheel. The buzz of the rum was kicking in. It was merely a buzz so she wasn't quite drunk yet. The captain had shouted her next order that was questionable but this was not the time for inquiry. Instead, Kitten hopped over the wooden rails to the deck and ran to the anchor. With the help of another sailor, they tossed the anchor off the side of the ship. It plunged into the deep sea and Kitten turned and yelled, "Anchor's dropped cap'ain!"
Turning back to face the other ship she wondered if they would fire back. She didn't even know why the captain wanted to fire and miss the ship either but, again, she would not ask. She merely glared across the dark waters at the enemy ship, anticipating anything thrown back at them.

It's a long leap but you'll catch me, right..?
Probably not.
Captain Josephine was leaning forward upon the boom of the top sail of the mizzen mast, the rope securely snaked around her arm for support. She knew he would come, unless he decided to attack her in return... although the chances of him doing that were slim to none. As the Ceridwen's Curse approached their vicinity she couldn't help but dread the sudden inquiry that popped into mind; it was a good idea but asking him the question was the dilemma. Her pride was at stake but so was her ship, no crew or momentary awkward sentiments? She'd opp for the former over the latter. Once the Ceridwen's curse had fully stopped, it was positioned juxtapose the Etoile de Mer with approximately twenty meters of sea inbetween. Perfect.
"Do not attack without my command. Do not follow me."
Was her final command before gripping the rope tighter, she tugged slightly on the endless coils in an attempt to calculate how much was needed for her next move. Satisfied, Lamort swung onto the deck of the other ship, a vision of an exotic firebird, fiery tendrils billowing in the dawn's cool wind as the lapels of her doublet fluttered in apothic fury...almost like her heart. With fortune on her side, or it may have just been her well calculated maneuver, Lamort managed to land sturdily upon the wooden flooring of the ship and right in front of her former shipmate. Lucky her...
A somewhat arrogant smirk formed on her lips whilst staring somewhat apathetically toward Captain James, her icy-hued eyes averting their gaze from his form to fully speculate her surroundings. The Ceridwen's Pride, rather the Ceridwen's Curse hadn't changes significantly over the year of her leaving... A slight pang of morose remembrance consumed her suddenly, she would have to act now before she said something she'd regret.
"Hello...James."
Malignant amusement flooded those stormy eyes, a mischievous expression slightly evident upon her elegant face.
"Quit looking so shocked, I'm not here to kill you..."
She looked down suddenly, a wistful sigh escaping as she ran her long fingers over the wooden steering wheel; it brought back so many memories. Josephine looked up again, the familiar fire back in her eyes.
"You're not planning on making me walk the plank are you?"
A sultry pout, how sinful and those glacial eyes...what thoughts were burning in their horrific hellfire behind them? Josephine, what are you thinking?
"Also...what the bloody hell are you doing following my ship?! I highly doubt that it's just a coincidence we're going the same way."
A couple of incoherent french insults, a few scorching looks and one punch later, Captain Lamort composed herself. It would be unwise to beat up the captain of a ship she didn't own for all hell may break loose. Not that it swayed her, afterall if anything she'd make Lucifer and Davy Jones sit if she had to. Oh, kitty-kat.

Jacob's right hand brushed the handle of his pistol as he watched the captain of the other ship swing over and land in front of their captain. He, like everyone else, was curious as what would happen next. He spotted two pirates talking to each other and saw them place some money on a barrel. 'Betting on what will happen between the two...how amusing.' Jacob continued watching and had moved a little closer to listen, it probably wasn't his place, but he was curious.

Once he saw it, it was obvious to him. Roger chastised himself for not seeing it sooner, but just as soon snatched out a clean peice of parchment and started sketching out a corrected map. One of the beauties of working with these maps is that he'd developed a cartographer's eyes and hands, doubly so on these rolling ships.
He of course made an allowance for the missing section of the map, noting it for future drawing. Then, he felt the ship slow and stop beneath him, just on this side of not gentle. Then, he hear cannon-fire, something that he admittedly was not entirely used to yet. He put a few finishing touches on the map and slid it into one of the shallow drawers in his table.
He ran up on deck just as Josephine swung across to the other ship... the Ceridwen's Curse. Roger's large eyes squinted behind his spectacles as he peered across, watching the lass interacting with the other ship's captain. Or at least he looked like a captain, he had the air about him, certain.

Lady was as surprised as anyone when Captain Lamort landed on the ship. She kept her moouth closed though. She didn't understand the bad blood between these two but she was smart enough not to interfere. A few of the hands started muttering softly. Lady crossed the deck quickly. She slipped between them. James simply stood still, his eyes giving off a look of a slight amazement as Josephine made her grand entrance on to his ship. Oh she was one for flashy antics, that was for sure. James' miscalculation had put him in this unnerving and awkard spot, and thus he had to deal with his brash adversary once again...which also meant taking another wayward punch.
"Ah, my dear Josephine...I knew you'd return to our beloved ship one day, though I hadn't imagined you'd be in such a foul mood. And how could you even think that I'd make someone as genuine and kind as yourself walk the plank?...Oh what a mind you have"
Said James as he gave her a half-hearted courtly bow and proceeded to move in closer to Josephine, close enough to have met eye to eye if he wasn't taller than her.
"Hmm, there lies a more imperative question my dear dear friend...why was I able to catch you? Are you really that lost without your former sidekick?"
James' voice had turned to a soft slightly cynical tone, causing him to move in closer to a whisper distance.
"But, being the fine gentleman that I am I shall supply an answer to your question...You can call my following you a product of a slight miscalculation on my part.
Said James as he opted to walk past Josephine, ending their close proximity, and proceeded to stroll about the ship with his hands behind his back...trying to be, well like a "captain".
"Oh you see it was a grand plan, simple yet brilliant...why take on the risk that my shoddy map could provide, when I could simply follow the holder of the original. However, your lack of quickness on these waters put a damper on my plan...or it seems both our plans eh?"
"So my dear friend, did you swing over just to flex your muscle or fury for that matter? Or do you wish to continue our little reunion?...I'm sure both our crews would love to hear the stories of the many times I saved the great Captain Lamort's life."
Said James as he made sure to put a good enough distance between himself and Josephine, not wanting any chance for more visible brusing.

Reed leaned against the decks railing as his eyes followed Captain Lamort's swiftly executed manuveur that agily brought her to the deck of the enemy ship. The quiet shipmate shook his head slightly, patly in disbelief and partly in awe, his long jet black hair swayed slowly with his movement. He closed his eyes as he mused over what could possibly be going through Lamort's mind as she enacted this.. rather unusual battle tactic. Reed couldn't understand how placing yourself on the enemy ship alone was a good idea in any right.. unless you trusted your enemy would bring you no harm.. or of course you were planning on offering a deal that couldn't be refused..
Reed climbed onto the deck's railing and swung his feet over the side, sitting atop it as his eyes trailed the ship alongside of him. He watched silently and calmly, while the rest of the ship was on edge. Reed curiously awaited to see what would happen next..

Here and back again
I hate reunions, don't you?
Captain Lamort carefully observed Captain Amren as he strolled about the ship whilst talking which was something he did often she recalled. Remaining on the top deck, Josephine leaned forward agaisnt the helm, arms resting on the wheel as long nails raked across the hardwood, threatening to leave tiny lacerations in their wake. Blah, blah, blah, blah, bl- what?
"I'm sure both our crews would love to hear the stories of the many times I saved the great Captain Lamort's life."
A burst of laughter erupted upon hearing this, her low mellifluous voice carrying throughout the dawn's air. Captain Lamort then pushed herself from the wheel, ambling over to James with a haughty glare, a hand on her hip as the other withdrew her cutlass and pointed it toward him. Its tip playing right beneath his chin before it descended lower to his throat and then even lower to his... heart.
"That's funny, since I'm sure your crew would love to know that they have a sissy for a captain."
With the cutlass still pointed at his chest, she contemplated for a moment. She could always simply ask James to accompany her on her journey to Atlantis. Even with her ruined map, with his notable intellect or what was left of it at least and from their past experiences together on working with maps even more messed up than her current one it was surely something he could agree to.
"Anyway, you're wasting your time following me...since my map is missing a piece. Although, we could always collaborate and work something out. For old time's sake perhaps? Actually no, I hate you too much for that... But Atlantis has too much to offer for you to refuse, so why not dear James?"
Lowering her sword, she strutted around the other Captain, circling him in fact at a languid pace, her fire hair swaying from side to side beneath her tricorne hat as the exotic bird feather atop it bobbed along. Snaking a hand across his back she stopped to lean against him for a moment, her arm resting on his shoulder as a hand lifted up slightly to examine her nails before she continued to move around him.
"Once you've reached your decision, just come over to my ship and tell me. Feel free to bring along a companion if you find it necessary or if you're scared. Think about it."
Then suddenly a question popped into her mind, why did she need him when she had her crew? Should he reject her offer, it wouldn't have made much of a difference seeing her trusty navigator would most likely be able to work something out. Why Josephine? She continued on contemplating before realizing that she could always just leave James behind if they were to work together. A good means for a sort of revenge she supposed. Lovely.
Pausing right before the opposing captain, she looked at him, flames dancing in her eyes before she spontaneously kissed him. After what seemed like minutes even though it was mere seconds, Josephine pulled away from him then slapped him across the face. A red hand imprint beginning to form on the cheek of Captain Amren.
"Consider it a reminder of who you're dealing with."
With this, Captain Josephine ran back to the top deck, hopped onto the barrel, gripped onto a lengthy rope then swung back onto her vessel. A look of satisfaction visible on her countenance and she landed back onto the deck. The party's over, oh you heartbreaker.
OOC: Buwahaha. Sorry Fionn, you just made it too easy for me. lol.

Reed raised a brow at Josephine's sudden kiss.. Well, if that wasn't sealing the deal, he didn't know what was. And so it had been as he had anticipated, her intention was to offer the captain a proposal. Now if only she'd share with the crew just what it was she was getting them into.
Reed leapt off the rail, then straightened himself in the presence of their captain. He didn't know what was going on here between these two, but he was determined to find out and, possibly use it to his advantage. He would make a great name for himself yet.
"So...." He tilted his head towards the opposing captain and continued speaking in his usual slow, confident matter. "Care to share what that was all about Lady Captain?"

"Consider it a reminder of who you're dealing with."
Oh and what a reminder it was, a reminder of Josephine's ability to seduce and use abuse to get things done. However, for a moment it was even more so a reminder of a time when those words meant something else...a time when playful good-natured feelings replaced all else. During that time was when he had parted lips with Josephine Lamort for the first time...ah, how time had a way of catching up with itself.
"Consider it a reminder of who you're dealing with." James sat quietly on the edge of the Ceridwen's Pride, still somewhat in awe of that happened and the words that had followed. All he could do was simply smile at his most trusted friend, as he watched her gaze at the setting sun, the last of the day's light seeming to burn away.
"A reminder I shall not forget...or atleast until we return to Tortuga again"
Laughed James as he swung his dangling legs back on board and knocked the shoddy hat off his mates head, letting her fiery locks blow wildly with the wind.
"Come along, we've almost reached our destination...we'll see if we can't do something about that wretched thing you call a hat"
"Bloody...hell"
Muttered James, as he let his mind wander back to the present as the sting of that blasted hand was across his face again. He then watched as Josephine made her equally grand exit to her own ship, leaving him to consider her offer?...demand?...request?...hmm perhaps inquiry fit the best.
Her words hadn't done anything to him, much like his words to her and thus he didn't really care how his crew would react to Josephine's remark on his...deficiency of toughness.
"Well lads that went rather well wouldn't you say?"
Said James as he tried to softly rub the red hue off of his pre-bruised cheek.
Pausing for a moment he looked across his ship and then surveyed his crew, noticing some of them with looks of confusion.
"It seems the great Captain Josephine Lamort requires my services...or more importantly the map we have. Therefore, I find it in our best interest for the time being to halt our advancement and see what we can gather...mutual benefit you know"
"Lady, I leave you to tend to the ship while I'm across the way. And Jai'in gather your things, as you will be joining me on our venture of diplomacy"
Said James as made his way to the entrance to the lower decks to gather some things from his quarters. A small grin crossed James' face on his way down, for he knew Josephine needed him this time...and oh how satisfying it was to know all the inner debating she would be going through.

Was their a connection? Then worst then the kiss she asked for his help. Even allowed him to bring one of his comrades. Most likely his first mate.
Chris leaned back on the helm as the dear seductive captain returned. Reed was first to ask what was going on. Chris supported him for the first time. "And while your at it you can tell up why we need his help anyway. For all we know he could have the other piece of the map. They could just be following us intel we get close and then kill us and continue to Atlantis." Chris really didn't like being followed and if they followed them to Atlantis then they may want to split the booty. Then on top of that they would have to split the rest of what they had with the crew. That was less money that he would recieve. Chris didn't like that fact at all. If necessary he would kill them all. Only leaving the people he needed alive.

Holy...bloody...hell? Merde! Oh, Josephine what have you done? As the captain of the Etoile de Mer finally returned she made her way over to the center of the ship, a hand raised in the air to gather the crew's attention.
"As all of you are wondering, rather the majority of you are wondering as to why I boarded the enemy ship is simple. I negociated with the captain of that ship to help us on our way to Atlantis. We'll be combining our forces for mutual benefits, however we could always just leave them."
Josephine lifted a shoulder in a negligent shrug at this, she didn't really care as to what would become of the Ceridwen's Curse. Her icy eyes then scanned her crew for any signs of sympathy for the other ship.
"If you have a problem with that, say so now."
So, I may send you to the bottom of the sea and make you walk the plank.
"Also, I realize that my rather scandalous behaviour upon the Ceridwen's Curse may have come as a bit of a shock. What's my relationship with their captain? Simple there is none. It was merely a little inveiglement."
Placing a finger on the bottom of her lip, Josephine then tilted her head to the side, a veil of scarlet flame hair moving along with it.
"My dear Christopher, are you forgetting who your captain is? I'd sooner have his hat than allow him to take mine or any of yours."
She toyed with her cutlass for a bit, creating invisible circles on the wooden floor of the vessel. Would she really do that? ...Probably, if she were lucky.

Reed nodded slowly, a familiar "Hn.." exuded from his lips and nothing more. The man eyed his captain curiously, noting that though she had mentioned there was nothing between her and their nemesis, as she toyed with her cutlass Reed was under the impression that she appeared... anxious? Reed shrugged it off though; if such deeper knowledge of the captain's past was useful later to himself he would look into it. As of now... well, it did appear that Lamort still held the upper hand. He was on the right path so far, and would remain her ally for some time longer, so long as things stayed that way. Reed still didn't favor sharing the glory with all of these men, but he had actually never planned on sharing it in the first place. It was just the problem now of having more competion in the game, though Demon Eyes Reed was not deterred, he would have his victory.

They were about the embark on a surely crazy act, as well as other cutthroats and villainous people to be in their way (people like the people aboard their own ship), he felt it likely they would be impaled and shot. But he was a saved man, so he had no regrets if he were to die at his captains side, because 'He' was always near him.
He prepared any last adjustments to his mapping tools that he kept in the pocket opposite he would the good book, and stood by his captain as he would await the time they'd leap other to the juxtaposing ship.
Just barely audible he spoke to himself, praying a part of the the 23rd Psalm:
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over. "
Indeed they were about to walk through the valley, he was sure that God had other plans for them then their deaths. At his side his Cutlass hung ready, his pistol loaded and locked as well as his dagger stayed hidden. He would be a soldier of God and a warrior of the sea, of his captain.

Small beams from the rising sun had made there way into the small window that adorned the Curse's captain's quarters. The light from the new day's dawn reflected off the various trinkets and treasures of the room, while Captain Amren continued to search around for the few select items he would bring over to the rival ship.
"Ah, here they are...right where he left them"
Said James as he plucked a well made gray captains coat and a matching cavalier hat from behind a withered wooden statue. After brushing off what seemed to be like a never ending amount of dust, James put on both items and proceeded to look at himself in a near by mirror.
"Well James, atleast they look like they belong to you now...I guess it's as good a time as any to both look and play the part"
James' voice had turned somewhat somber, or perhaps it was what accounted for as his normal voice...whichever it was, it wasn't a tone he normally let his crew hear.
Content with his appearance and after letting a deep breath pass, James made his way towards the door and stopped for a moment to gaze at a large portrait that hung behind his desk. It was of an older man, who seemed to be wearing a similar if not the same coat and hat that James was. With a quick nod of his head to the picture, James walked back up to the main deck of the ship to address his crew.
"Well now lads, Jai'in and I leave to attend this meeting of mutual diplomacy. Stand firm as I'd request we keep things calm and steady...I hardly feel like fighting a battle at such an early point of the day"
Called James as he raised a hand for attenion and gave the crew a long bow.
"However, if something should by chance happen to your dear captain...remember me as the cut-throat, no-nonsense, scurvy sea tyrant that I was"
With that James turned his attention to the rival vessel and then to his navigator who was ready to go as well.
"Jai'in my good man, I've decided to opt for the one way on one way off approach"
Said James as he cut a rope with a small dagger from his belt and tugged it firmly to test the strength. He then wrapped the roped tightly around his forearm and wrapped his other arm around the waist of the divine navigator.
"While I do not doubt your ability my friend, If something should happen I'd request you take his line back over to the ship. I need you back on that ship no matter what, but fret not for I will surely find my own way back over."
Then without any further words James dashed off towards the edge of the ship and then leapt off, being mindful to keep a tight grip on Jai'in. While it wasn't nearly as graceful as Josephine's entrance, it did its job as both men's feet landed solidly on the deck of the Etoile de Mer.
"That went rather well, didn't clip the side of the boat this time"
Laughed James as he let go of Jai'in and made sure his own effects were fastened on his belt. After a quick look around, he focused his attention of the crew before him.
"Well, well...Ahoy there! Captain James Amren at your service lads!"
Exclaimed James, his eyes having an uncommon spark to them as he gave the rival crew a sweeping bow with his hat.

Harth continued to play softly on his flute, he was used to being completely ignored, the music he played was never appreciated by anyone but his captain. He stopped playing and has his hand on his cutless, he was on guard just incase the other captain tried anything funny. He was willing to die for his captain, for she did save his life. He drew his cutlass, the poison on the tip of the blade dripped off slowly. He gave a smirk and swung it swiftly, he was warming up for any upcoming battle.

OOC: thanks for letting me join, hope i can get along with at least a few of these nasty pirates...
Thomas felt like he was floating. He could feel the sun on his face, which hurt. It took him awhile to realise this and he simply decided to shrug it off. He layed still not wanting the blissful feeling to dissapitate.
But there it was again, the pain in his cheek. Thomas wasn't a stupid young man but it still took him a few good minutes before he gave up trying to stay in paridise and feel his cheek, only when he tried to lift his hand up to help with the inspection, it wouldn't move.
He didn't want to open his eyes and he tried to convince himself he was nice and warm in an upstairs room in his favourite tavern with the morning light shining in through the old curtains...
He tried to lift his hand up again but it wouldn't agree to his plans. This time he got frustrated and he knew it was time to wake up. He yawned long and hard before finally opening his eyes, afterwards he wished he didn't.
Thomas could only stare in wonder at the little boat he was... well strapped to. His hands were bound by thick ropes to the iron holes used for the oars. He now knew why his face hurt, reminders of last night came flooding back. he cursed loudly before looking outside of his little boat.
It was only because of 5 years living by his instincts and wits that he didn't scream out like a little girl.
He was floating between 2 ships and not just any ships, what looked like pirate ships. Thomas cursed again as the little boat was lightly thrown against the side of one of the much larger ships.
He calmed himself down and wondered what to do next, obviously he'd lost in last nights barfight. His rapier was lying on the floor of the rowing boat, only without the hilt and he could feel the bulge of his money bag missing.
He thought he heard voices, then was sure he saw something jump from one ship to another.
He smiled to himself, at least he knew people were up on deck, well that meant there was nothing else for it,
"HELP!!!"

Kitten heard someone call from the water. She cocked her head over the side of the ship where she stood and saw a man in a random boat that floated between the two ships. Kitten snickered. What were the chances. She waved her fingers down at the stranger with a smirk as if to taunt him, silently saying that she was going to make no move to assist him for now. "Cap'ain, dun' mean t' interrupt but we have a man bound t' a boat overboard! You wan' t' bring 'im aboard or leave 'im drifting?" she called to Josephine. Personally, Kitten could care less. She found it amusing that the man was bound but she was also a little curious to why he was in the first place. Still, she did not move until her captain gave her the order.

Lady was more than a little surprised to watch the two of them. She simply nodded at Captain Arwen's request that she take charge. She blinked at Scrawny's question. "I can hardly doubt it" SHe muttered to herself whipping another wayward strand of black hair away from her eyes. She was ready as soon as Captain Amren touched down.

Bienvenue a l'Enfer
Welcome to Hell
Now that the main cast is present, please proceed to center stage. It's your shining moment, so make it a good one damn it.- Oh, and break a leg.
Captain Josephine Lamort was pacing about the ship rather impatiently as she anticipated for the arrival of the oncoming guest or guests. Finally wearing herself out, she simply leaned agaisnt the tall substantial length of the mast, examining her long and sharp fingernails. Careful, she might just scratch your eyes out.
While Captain James and some other bizarrely dressed fellow boarded almost clumsily onto the ship, Josephine rolled her eyes in a somewhat irritable manner. Amateur. As James introduced himself and bowed, a small dagger whizzed from nowhere and landed just before his feet. It was Josephine who threw it, but where the heck did she get that knife?
"Welcome to the Etoile de Mer. I trust you're through with these unnecessary niceties?"
She smiled, rather smugly as she folded her arms across her chest and pushed herself off of the mast that was supporting her, approaching rather slow yet surely. Like a lioness coming in for the kill, claws outstretched and headed straight for the jugular. Josephine then opened her mouth the say something but pursed her lips as she was then cut off by the sound of one of her crewmembers.
"Cap'ain, dun' mean t' interrupt but we have a man bound t' a boat overboard! You wan' t' bring 'im aboard or leave 'im drifting?"
A contemptuous grin.
"Oh really? Well, don't bring him aboard I'm sure he'll fit in quite nicely with the Ceridwen's Curse, like the pathetic stowaway he is. Isn't that right, James?"
Josephine advanced toward the two guests, pausing right before the adversary captain to bend over and pick up the frightful blade she threw just moments ago. It was a magnifecent thing, a seven inch chisel blade with all the precision to perfectly lacerate anything it came into contact with. She examined it for a moment, a sort of fond look in her eyes before they changed into a malignant expression as she averted her gaze back to James, casting aside the knife like a common child's toy.
"Let's get down to business. So, who's this you brought along?"
OOC: Sorry it took so long to get a post up. Exams are still going on and my new sem is about to start.

"Through with these unnecessary niceties?...Oh no no my dear Josephine, I'm not one to go out of his way to create a false sense of sincerity on an enemy vessel, Heavens No"
Said James contorting his face to a look of shock, as he put his hands out in front of him and waved them about in a dismissing manner, his hat in hand swaying with the movements.
"You obviously need my assistance enough to leave my ship and myself intact for the moment, so why go through the trouble of making things uneasy hmm?"
Shifting his eyes to the well crafted knife leaving it's place next to his feet, James placed his hat back on and turned his head to where Josephine had done the same.
"Ah, the Ceridwen's Curse, just rolls of your tounge does it not my old friend...Alliteration you know."
Said James as his eyes found themselves wandering back to his ship, rather than the poor soul that was in question. However, after a moment of taking his ships ghostly beauty James peered over the ship and down below to the lad.
"Well, I hadn't planned on taking on another crew member...However, I can't simply leave the lad there...and stowaways often make for some of the hardest workers, especially once they're caught doing so"
James eyed Josephine for a moment and tilted his head slightly. His eyes were almost piercing, as if trying to relay a deeper meaning to his previous statement.
With that James pulled back a section of his coat, pulled out a small knife and then proceeded to toss his up in the air a few times seemingly judging the weight. Then with a sharp swing of his arm and a quick flick of the wrist James threw the knife towards his own ship. The small knife whistled through the air before slicing through a random rope that was fastened against the ship. The quite impressive feat of precision and skill had caused the rope to drop down close to the lap of the stranded lad.
"The line be cast lad, pull yourself up to the Ceridwen's Curse and her awaiting arms!"
Shouted James as gave a wave to the stranded lad and then gave another wave to his crew, signaling it was ok to let him aboard.
"Hmm lets see now, Ah yes getting down to business...well this fine lad here is Jai'in, my navigator"
Said James as he focused his eyes back onto Josephine and presented his shipmate with a sweep of the hand. He made no noticable recognition of the disregarded knife, other than giving a small smirk to the rival captain.
"What of your crew? Can they speak or have their tounges been removed to keep them subordiante"

Reed raised a brow in silence. This, Captain James Amren of the Ceridwen's curse was certainly.. quite the character. Listening carefully he heard key words that alluded to a relationship between the two of some kind, whether they be kin, or more or less then that, Reed had no way of knowing. But the words 'old friend' were not thrown around carelessly like leaves tumbling through a wayward breeze. Such notations surely hinted at something more, even if it was just a chance passing, it was obvious to a scrutinizing eye that the twosome had effected eachother deeply.
"What of your crew? Can they speak or have their tounges been removed to keep them subordiante"
Reed shot Captain Amren a cautious look that most likely spoke for itself, although he chose to accompany it with words. his unique eyes first scanned the captain and then his mate that he had chosen to accompany him before he spoke slowly and emphathetically, "Don't mistake our silence for weakness, Sir Captain. Many times it is the silent man that is to be most feared. You wouldn't do well to underestimate our crew." Reed mainly spoke for himself, he hadn't taken much of an interest with the rest of his comrades. After all, in the end everyone was to be competition.
Reed hinted at a smirk but remained motionless, curious to see how Captain Amren was to respond, and just how things would play out after their union with the enemy ship. It was a peculiar circumstance indeed..

Chris was amazed at his words. Speaking so freely not thinking of the reactions that one would have. Careless he was. If it wasn't for the Captain herself Chris would quickly ranshack his ship. Kill his crew and pink his boat sending it to the bottom of the sea. Their he and his forsaken crew could speak with Davy Jones. Only to be cast into a pit of torment. However that was only how he thought.
"Bold words for a man that is out classed by a FEMALE captain. You should watch your tounge. Or I will cut it out and sell it to the dark deep sea."
Chris shook his head and bowed. He wasn't this rude but he didn't trust many people. "Hello my name his Christopher Moses. First Mate to this lovely ship. Nice to meet you." Darn it all. He didn't want to work this man. However if he helped them get to Atlantis then the most he could do was to be nice and fake a smile.........for now.

Harth stopped playing and looked at the captain from his annoying tounge comment. "I don't think that was really called for." He said putting his flute to his lips and played softly. Harth didn't want anything to do with the annoying captains comments. He simply spoke and then went on to what he was doing, but watching him closly as to see if he was going to do anything funny. But so far the captain didn't do anything funny. I guess the captain is a little trust worthy. "Hmph..."

"Bold words for a man that is out classed by a FEMALE captain. You should watch your tounge. Or I will cut it out and sell it to the dark deep sea."
The sturdy and swift navigator heard such words, and with the sight of the opposing captain upon him he wasn't really sure what kind of hogwash of an alliance would be made. They were all pirates, and were all out to sea for their own goals. But at the same time they were placed together, as if by Gods own hand they were pushed this way from the beginning. Though he steaded himself with the hand over the hilt of his cutlass, and he would speak in a more somewhat deep yet serious and latently-power voice.
" And so, Mr. Moses, Is the fact that she is female make her any less in worth from the start? We are all God's children and equal by his creation. Though a man may head a house hold, the woman is the one to bare the agony of birth. Me'thinks your Captain, the lovely blade you have leading you wouldn't appreciate such under-confidence. Me'thinks you'd best start sizing people up by every factor, and not solely their gender. "
The navigators purple hair swept in the wind somewhat as the morning sun emanated it's rays upon the two ships, one could espy the glittering of the shining open hearts down the guard of his blade twinkling in the shining sun. Both ships were quite beautiful, all under the hand of the divine and all mighty. He'd then remain silent from then, he said all he had to say and made a slight bow, keeping around his captain near and ready for anything, his other hand spread out on the Good Book in his pocket.

Lady had noticed the little boat earlier but she hadn't expected the captain to take on a new man. This was interesting. She gave another annoyed flick at a curl. Lady wouldn't part with her hat and with the wind toppling it off she supposed that dealing with her wild mane was a little better. Several of the crew grumbled a bit. "You'd best not be grumbling when the captain returns" Lady warned. She graced them with one of her lopsided smiles again it wasn't turly warm but Lady wasn't inclined to truly be happy.
She wondered what was going on on the other ship. She could hear voices teh actual conversation was too low for her to grab words. Oh well, at least she hadn't been dragged over there...she would've been mad. It wasn't as if she was needed there anyways. So Lady was completely content to remain on Ceridwen's Curse and await whoever was in the rowboat.

Thomas could here the threats and loud squabblings of the pirates and he was suitably (sp) impressed at the male captains knife throwing skills, although he had to wonder at his intelligence.
The rope was just long enough to curl up slightly at the bottom of his little boat and Thomas watched it slide from side to side in motion with the waves. He kicked at the rope with his foot before looking up with a sour expression,
"Errm, incase the good captain was unable to see from up there my hands are bound and i'm not exceptionally good at climbing with my feet, anybody care to help?"
He gave a small smile and hoped it would help get some of the pirates to budge, although from the look on one particular womans face it looked like he wasn't going anywhere soon.

Chris grinned and stepped closer to the religous man. Truly with man was of a noble family. Speaking the way he did. Not missing a beat. Did he sense i wif of intelligence? Was this man more then he seemed? Like a cold, dark prison. Chris couldn't pick his brain. This was a man that Christopher would truly enjoy speaking with. And possibly fighting. Afterward killing.
"I see that you a holy man. Traveling with Pirates. The filthe of the sea......" He grinned and stepped closer. "Why is that? Do you like so many others find it amusing to watch and learn what we pirates do and are? What we fight and kill for......?" Chris got closer close enough to grab his arm. "Always thinking and convicting us to death after you gain our trust......" Chris was now face to face with the man. Lucky for him Chris loved to stay clean and washed everyday. His breath was fresh and clothes clean. However his hands still stank with blood of day's past. His eyes like the daggers hidden around his body. Watching and trying to test this mans integraty. His voice still calm ,low and poetic. "Or is it that you are one of the few that truly enjoy sailing behind a true captain?"
Chris looked at the holy man with a grin. Not thinking about the many guns that could be pointed at him right now. Just enjoying himself. What would this man do? Speak about his class of people. Ask why he didn't try and speak about his gender attacks. Nevertheless he like to be challenged. This man would serve that purpose. To test Chris's own intelligence. To fuel his ego. His divine will. His life and everything that it stands or may stand for.

Lady glanced over the side of the boat. SHe immediatelly noticed he was tied down. Lady sighed. She could jump over the side but she'd have to swim to get to him. Or she could take the rope down and hoope it didn't slide out of the boat. Neither option was sounding great right now. Lady thought about forcing a deckhand to do it then nixed the idea, she needed to stay in good graces with the crew.
"Whatchya gonna do, Lady?" A crewmember asked.
Lady thought for a few minutes. "I guess I'm going for a little swim" Lady's father had insisted that his daughter learn how to swim. He must've recognized the pirate gene and not wanted her to be unable to swim in case she got thrown overboard or something. She was relatively strong swimmer but by no means the best. She shoved her overcoat at the hand. No sense in weighing herself down. Lady figured the rope would be pulled out of the boat by her weight and either way she'd end up wet so she was going to get it over with now. She took a deep breath and plunged off the side all the while cursing herself for not getting someone else to do it.

Thomas allowed a little smile to play across his lips when he saw a female pirate jump over to help him. And it could have been the speed that she was falling at or maybe the light reflecting from the water but he swore underneath all of the outwards anger he could see a beautiful angel diving to his rescue, then she splashed water down his back...
He tried to remember his gentlemanly manners however trying to help her onboard seemed tricky when tied down and it only made the boat sway harder.
Thomas gave up trying to be honourable and quit from his usual approach to seeing a female as that almost always ended up in a red handprint on his cheek, or sometimes worst...
And he reminded himself that this woman was all the hope he had of being freed. So in the end he settled for a pitiful,
"So hows your day been?"...

"Out classed you say? My, My what a mouth on you lad...and a first mate no less?"
Said James seemingly suprised as he wedged his arm between his navigator and the first mate Moses. He then placed his hand lightly onto the chest of the first mate and slowly eased him back away a good distance from Jai'in.
"I very much so enjoy having a tounge, so I retract my previous statement...for indeed the crew of the Etoile de Mer can speak, with much vigor that is for sure...my sincerest apologies."
James then removed his hand from the first mate's chest and gave those aboard the ship a low bow.
"Don't mistake our silence for weakness, Sir Captain. Many times it is the silent man that is to be most feared. You wouldn't do well to underestimate our crew."
After his peasant-like bow of subservience, James shifted his gaze to the other crew member that had spoken up as well. The man look rather familiar and had a certain air about him. Slowly returned to an upright position, James strode over to the tough looking lad and proceeded to place his arm around him.
"Ah right you are lad, a very wise statement...It is the silent man who often gets the last laugh no? That is if he lets one pass beyond his lips...Hmm, perhaps the silent man getting the last smirk would better serve our matter of perception"
Said James in a moderatley hushed tone, as he leaned in a little closer the the man's ear, also catching a glimpse of the man's eyes.
"I wouldn't do well indeed to underestimate this crew. However, some concern me less than others. Those who are easily angered do themsevles a grand diservice...and bloody hell are they a pain in the knickers."
James tried to discretley point over to the direction of the First mate and then Josephine as well, giving the man under his arm a friendly nudge as he did so. Content with his smoothing things over approach, James decided it was best to return his focus to the matter of diplomacy at hand.
"Well lad I enjoyed our small chat, I never though I'd converse with Demon Eyes Reed himself...a shame those eyes aren't watching my back."
Said James as he took his arm off of the man and gave a hearty laugh before returning to his position next to his navigator.
"Josephine, I must say you've nearly out done yourself with this lively crew...it must be the mark of a great captain to keep all of them working contently under you and without so much as a hint of displeasure...truly a remarkable feat, truly"

"Uh huh, moving on shall we?"
..My my, what a witch.
Josephine merely motioned for the opposing Captain to remain silent for a moment and follow her as she rather hastily returned to the helm, hands on the wheels and ready to sail. As she awaited for the two to bound up the stairs she took into accordance on how this would work out, what dangers lay before them as they would make their way to the forbidden land of Atlantis. Would they reach their destination or would they fall before they could even catch a glimpse?
" All right lads, no time to chit chat! Lift the anchor and set sail!"
Turning over to the Captain and his navigator she speculated them briefly before stepping aside from the steering wheel to allow Captain Amren to take the wheel.
"Well, it's your calls for now along with your navigator. If he requires any assistance feel free to call upon my own navigator, Roger Blaine. I'm merely here to supervise now."
Crossing her arms over her chest, Josephine sported a rather haughty glare, handing the reins to someone else was aggravating let alone that pathetic lad. But she would pay no mind to her emotions...for now. She'd allow him the satisfaction and glory of being today's saviour because his shining moment would only last for so long before once again Captain Lamort will rise to power with one of her clever vendettas. The overall outcome was legions away but she could already taste the intoxicating and twisted sense of victory.

Lady climbed into the boat and replied. "Not as bad as yours has been it seems" She studied the thick rope. Then Lady sighed. She was glad that she'd thought to bring her cutlass even though it had been a real pain to drag through the water. Lady was already exhausted and just the thought of climbing up the side of the ship made her groan. She wedged the long weapon under the rope and after a few minutes had freed his left hand. With a little more struggling she cut the rope on his right hand too.
Lady sat back for a minute then leaned down and grabbed the rope at the bottom. "Might as well get going" She said. She offered the rope to him first mostly because she wanted to put off her climb for as long as possible. Being able to swim didn't necessarily mean that dragging her cutlass and herself through the water was any picnic.

Nay'er did he move upon the approach of Moses, he needed not to for he was indeed below him by means of moral and respectable stature. He hadn't answered his first question and didn't deserve any more of his words. His words were better then any petty bit of demeaning slur he could spawn from the foul recesses of his mind. When his Captain stepped in he was rather relieved, he was glad he didn't have to bloody blade in self defense against the crude, rude man. Though his Captain's actions made him slightly more tense, he could remember how the way he acted as such got them into fights in the past.
It seemed though, that before any other thoughts could be pondered, that the female captain beckoned them up where the wheel was. Surely he followed his captain, sternly keeping his composure, with quite the bit of ease. He knew that if they were supposed to die then they'd have been dead already. As such he kept himself to where he was needed, no more and no less awaiting the words of his own captain to tell him what he needed.

Lady never missed a beat. She gave him a fake smile and shoved her cutlass in his direction. "Then if you really don't mind why don't you haul that up for me?" She pretended to ignore his last comment. Though she stowed it away for future reference. Her normally loose clothes were clinging to her skin and the sooner she could get her coat back the better. She let him take the rope and decided to tell him one last thing "My name's Lady" It sounded normal but she had just let him know she'd heard his comment. Lady crawled up after him when he got close enough to the deck. The climb was no picnic under normal circumstances and right now Lady wished she could grow wings and flly up onto the deck.
When she finally finished the climb some of the hands were staring most of them had probably though she was built like a block. She grabbed her coat from the deckhand she'd left it with and shrugged it on checking to make sure her other weapon was there when no one was paying attention. Now she needed her cutlass back.

Thomas found the climb quite hard, the cutlass held between his teeth didn't exactly help, however he had offered and didn't complain. He reached up and pulled himself onto the ship, looking around he noticed a few stern faces while some smiled mockingly and many others couldn't even care.
His saviour, now known to be called only 'Lady' was now onboard and had shrugged on her coat.
He walked over and cheekily placed the cutlass back into his mouth,
"A deadly, shining rose for my saviour." he said falling onto one knee. He just hoped she didn't take it off him and run him through...

"Well, it's your calls for now along with your navigator"
With a raise of his eyebrow James gave an "as you wish" motion and proceeded to accept Josephine's offer of the temporary captaincy of the Etoile. Running his hand across and over the wheel, James' eyes gazed out at the sea around them as if he was expecting something to reveal itself to him.
After a few moments of the said action James turned around to face those aboard the ship.
"Well Jai'in my good man let us accept this gracious offer or request rather and provide our sea-fairing brethren our superior navigation abilities."
Said James as he motioned for the navigator to join him at the wheel, while managing to give Josephine a smile that was laced with an obvious swagger of sorts.
"We shall set a course similar to that of our intended one...however adjustments must be made as we will be encountering some unexpected factors. The primary factor being not having the luxury of the Curse's legendary handling, what a shame"
Letting his eyes wander away from Josephine and the crew, for obvious reasons now, James focused on his own ship.
Upon seeing the new stowaway was aboard the ship James gave a loud whistle to catch his Firstmate's attention. He then gave a series of hand motions and signals that kept him from having to yell across to the ship. James used the signing quite effectivley when giving directional commands and orders when he simply lacked the will or energy to yell them out.
This series of signs directed Lady and the rest of the crew to stay the course and to follow the other ship's movements.
"Well lad's, you heard the Old lass, lift the anchor and set the sails!"
Called James as he turned to his "current crew" and confidently pointed towards the horizon, his hands then finding their place on wheel.

Lady rolled her eyes ignoring his comment again. When she got her cutlass back she heard a whistle. She turned slightly because it possible he wouldn't yell. When he signed to follow the other ships movements Lady simply turned around and relayed the order. "And you might as well be put to work too" She said to the stowaway. Not a single person was going to do nothing on her watch, so long as they were in the shape to do something useful. Lady motioned one of the hands over. "Put 'im to work" She said.
"Why am I elected to babysit?" He grumbled.
Lady pretended shock. "You mean it's not an honor? I thought it was a compliment to your skills when I chose you. However, if you truly feel that way maybe I can..."
"Never mind" The hand said quickly. He looked a little hostile but Lady knew the right buttons to push.
"Good" Lady walked way to keep an eye everything else. She stood at the wheel for two reasons it was easiet to see the crew and someone had to keep the boat from getting off course and the task usually fell to her when the captain was gone.

Thomas had the cutlass swiftly removed before the captain who had saved him started to whistle and make hand signs. The crew moved fast enough and Thomas smiled as the gruff looking man was put in his place by Lady.
He turned to look at Thomas and gave a lopsided smile,
"My names Old Jack but you can call me just plain Jack." He smiled again, "Ha well i haven't seen a young lad with such a deathwish as when old One-ear Billy tried to get a bit too cosy with the barmaid a couple of months back in that nice little port town."
All the while he had been leading Thomas over to a door in the ship,
A pirate that was tying two peices of old rope together grunted,
"No need to bore the little girl with that old story, his life will be hard enough soon!"
Thomas only raised an eyebrow at this but Jack lent in and started to whisper. The man suddenly looked a lot less like he wanted to make Thomas' life hell and more like he'd just heard his favourite brothel had been burnt down.
The old pirate led Thomas down a rickety few stairs before opening a small door on his left,
"You'll be helping in here for now, learn to cook and do whatever young Slim here tells you too."
Thomas looked at the young lad who was currently wiping a rag around a dirty cup. The kid nodded before turning back to his cup.
Jack went to walk out but Thomas called out,
"By the way, what did you say to that pirate?"
The man laughed, Nothing much, i just said you were Lady's favourite."
Thomas gave a small chuckle but the old mans face suddenly dropped,
"But don't play with her young 'un, you could end up losing an eye, or a more valuble comodity (sp)."
He walked out and left Thomas to get to know his new friend, thinking about how precious every part of his body currently felt...

OOC; Apoligies for my absence, busy+computer trouble ><;
BIC; Reed eyed Captain Amren curiously after the man had abondoned him and returned to speak with Josephine. At first he had felt uncomfortable with someone so close, somewhat threatened even, such being his nature. The only time a man stepped into his circle was when he was to meet a sudden death by one of Reed's cutlasses. Reed was never one in the company of merriment and brotherhood. But as the captain spoke Reed felt a rather unusual command of respect for the man. Whether it had been Amren's recognition of him or the words he spoke that Reed echoed as well, the young man was uncertain. But he knew it had been some time since he had held even a shred of respect for a man, and this captain had earned that shred so easily too. Odd indeed.. Reed shrugged off a slightly bewildered gaze and again refocused on the two captains, who were once more immersed in conversation.
Reed uttered no more words, simply listened and watched carefully, calculatingly. The movements of these two would certainly decide his own plans in the future.

IC:
Here it comes
Please keep your hands and legs within the ship at all times
The L'Etoile de Mort's captain stood in retinence behind her fellow Captain, observing fastidiously every movement that was occuring upon her ship. That's right, it was still her ship regardless that another person at the moment was in command. A heavy sigh surpassed her lips as she looked out to the horizon, a rising sun, rebelled agaisnt the former midnight sea of sky as sanguine rays stretched for countless miles in a damask wave. Though the beautiful slithers of light faded away as a forboding group of ashen clouds vervely polluted the heavens. Almost as quickly as the clouds appeared in the sky, it began to rain, though from the severity of the water descending upon the two ships it'd be better called a waterfall- a big waterfall. As the ships struggled on, the waves crashed onto the decks, violently rocking their vessels. Then suddenly, the world began to spin, they were caught in a maelstrom...at least that's what it appeared to be...
A great sickly beast immersed from the ocean, its behemoth form taking up a third of the sky, obsidian skin with eyes that reflected the very essense of death was creating this collosal tempest with the mere flick of its tail. A monster had risen from hell itself, practically challenging the L'Etoile de Mort, and Captain Josephine welcomed it. Whilst the rest of the crew stood in awe of the creature's vast form, she had already retrieved a little something...
She whistled.
"All right folks, it's time to play!"
Then turned over to James.
"You wouldn't happen to have some bright idea, would you dearest? No? Didn't think so yet."
Harpoon at hand, Josephine swung over to the top of the mizzen mast. Looking into Death's eyes. This was going to be a hell of a difficult task and secretly, she was afraid for who in their right mind wouldn't be? For now, she waited for them to get closer to it, the Leviathan. Josephine had heard many stories about this old sea-tale monster, though she'd never believed in it, afterall she'd never encountered it before...until today.
Was this the end? Hell no.

James had watched the series of events unfold and was rather unfazed until the hellish sea titan arose from the sea. Dark ominous skies and storms often brought foul tidings, but he did not expect such a thing to occur.
Shaking the inherent human awe and amazement, James quickly spun the wheel to take evasive action.
"Ready the cannons lads, hell has looked upon you and you've looked upon it...no need for further introductions, let us get acquainted!"
Called James as another wall of water washed over both ships' decks, his voice remaining calm and collected. However, inwardly James was truly wondering if he could keep up his captainly swagger, for as much calculating and planning that went on in his mind...strong pangs of fear were ready to take over if he faltered.
Nonetheless, he wouldn't allow himself to be outdone by one Josephine Lamort, as that would be a fate even worse than facing hell's sea beast with only a cutlass at hand.
Being mindful that his ship was in danger as well, James signaled to his firstmate to follow his lead. He had enough confidence in her skills to leave her to guide his beloved ship...or perhaps he was confident that his teachings of manning the helm to his firstmate were an effective alternative to him being there.
With that out of the way, James spun the wheel once more and brought his current ship towards the beast at what seemed to be a precise angle...brilliantly keeping both ships suprisingly close and away from direct contact at the same time.
"Ah that's the way lads, keep her firm and fast!...Bypass the foreplay lads, we fire on my command!"
Called James as he held the wheel tightly with one hand, while his other shielded his eyes from the rain as he tried to lock onto Josephine.
"Oy, Josephine rather hasty using that harpoon eh?...perhaps you can seduce that thing if you put on that lovely outfit you used on that young lad back in Tortuga!...surely there's some way of working this out!"
As much ill will James harbored towards his former companion, apart of him was worried for her safety much to his current persona's dismay.
Timing was everything now, the cannon shots would serve as some distraction until he could enact his strategy for all their safety...and oh was it a good one.

OOC: Cool so its back on, well school works getting at me at the minute, what with failing the exam and stuff, so posts should be less frequent, but i hope not.
Thomas stared in amazement at the little boy as he carried on washing the pots.
"Errr... Slim? I've just been on deck and... Well i think the pots should be left till later."
Slim nodded before walking over to the cupboard in the corner and opening the rotted doors.
As Thomas slapped his hat onto the wall in a pitiful display, trying to forcibly remove the seemingly gallons of water caught in it, he watched Slim (who only just managed to reach up to Thomas' higher torso) reach into the dark space and retrieve the biggest crossbow he had ever seen.
He held in the laughter as the small kid didn't look in the mood and Slim dragged the heavy mechanism past Thomas onto the deck.
Thomas stood in shock and crossed himself, he had never been a religous person, and even went as far as the mock the saints by praying to Saint Guinefort. He was a dog that had saved a child when it had been attacked by a snake, only to be slain by his master as he was wrongly accused of the attack. When the master realised the truth and that Guinefort had saved his child they made a shrine for him. Thomas carried a dried up dogs paw on a chain around his neck but would praying to a dog save him now? Maybe this was something for one of the greater saints.
Thomas ran up onto the deck and was instantly drenched, looking up at the monster before him he cursed before kissing the paw and sighing... So this was the life of a pirate...?

Kitten stared wide-eyed and followed the creature's head as it rose out of the water as if it were raising out of Hell itself. It only took a blink to snap her out of his daze and she threw herself into action. Although she was small and probably couldn't do much until the captain ordered her to do so, she knew that something had to be done to buy time. She saw that the other ship had people preparing to fire cannons and she had no other choice but to prepare the Etoile de Mort's cannons as well. "Someone help me on the cannons!" She shouted to anyone who was in earshot. The roaring seas were so loud she could hardly hear herself but she did get assistance. She ran to the cannons and started getting them ready with haste. "Get someone t' the lower deck t' tend t' the ones down 'ere!" She knew she was in no position to shout orders but she also knew that there was no time to waste. A distraction was the only thing she could possibly accomplish at the moment.

Chris stood firm and level-headed as the beast appeared. He stood looking at it only too grin and look at his captain who was smiling as well.
"Prepare all cannons for fire. Get ready for a hell of a fight boy's today may be are last day of sailing." Chris grinned and stood by his captain waiting for the order. He only looked over at the other ship to check what they were doing. Preparing to fire as they were.

Lady would not have been more surprised if the water itself had dropped from the earth. Sweet Lord.... Lady regained her compsure suprisingly quickly. She watched the other ship for Captain Amren's orders. Then executed them with a natural swiftness she hoped would hide her fright from the others on board. She'd never seen anything remotely like the Leviathan and it made her more than just scared it terrified her. "Ready the cannons!" She said prodding the petriefied crew into motion. She had to be stong for the whole crew now it seemed. What a bunch of wusses. She refrianed from taking that thought any further for fear it show her things that she wasn't quite ready to face yet.

Sink or Swim
Hold on to your hats
The cacophonous symphony of cannon fire, a gaggle of shouts and orders echoed throughout the entire vicinity. Water thundered down from the sky which was a large impediment for any chance of escaping from the great monstrosity that inhabited the sea. It seemed impervious to all the weaponry that was being used against it, cannon balls were flung back at the ships with a mere flick of its hideous tail, the hail of bullets emitting from the side guns of the ship deflected off the sickly flesh like water being splashed on a boulder- a very large boulder...a mountain in comparison. How such a beast could navigate through the seas without being detected was an enigma. The stories and tales that revolved around this creature were infinite, rumors that it could take the form of any sea animal or even person was apparently the key to how it remained inconspicuous.
A caterwaul cast out from the abyss like mouth of the beast as it suddenly descended back into the waters. The rain slowly letting up as the danger dispersed...or had it? A few chuckles and anxous laughs of relief could be heard among the crew of both ships in the utter retinence of this sudden outcome. There was a sudden gurgle in the dark water, the l'Etoile de Mort began to rock violently, fortune was theother ship for lagging slightly behind them. Then it happened... the Leviathan rocketed from the depths of the Caribbean sea its target...the ship.
"Holy..."
Josephine composed herself.
"All right folks, you either abandon ship or you can be a sissy about it and stay paralysed with fear and stay aboard like a moron. I suggest you all do the former over the latter. If we survive, drinks all around. Now amscray."
As the behemoth sea beast descended from the air, it collided with the L'Etoile de Mort, shattering the entire structure of ship until all that was left were wooden splinters. Its passengers were tossed about into the sea, clinging to the remains of the once magnificent ship to stay afloat or they hastily swam toward the Ceridwen's Curse. The Leviathan thrashing about in its triumph, primordial instinct of a predator's success before once more it disappeared back into the water. A final screech was heard, gone.
Captain Josephine examined the collateral damage, there was no way in hell that her ship could be restored. What a mess this was. Swimming over to where Captain James had been thrown overboard, whipping her arm across the water in a violent splash to his facade. She had lost her ship, possibly some of her crew and the creature in responsible had vanished. If there was one thing that Captain Lamort felt at that instant was anger, a whole slew of horrific fury.
"Still alive I see? What a shame."

Reed was eerily calm throughout the whole ordeal. Whether it be he had tangled with many a sea monster throughout his fighting days, or just his eerie persona that was his norm. (it being the latter) He did a horrid job at helping to 'defend the ship.' In fact, the omniscious fighter-for-hire did nothing more then remain at the rear of the ship, dodging a few stray cannonballs that had been sent wildly back in their direction. And when the beast crashed into the vessel, he effectively manuevered not only out of the creature's path but happened to remain on a large chunk of the ship that was still afloat. Cooly he stood perched upon it, being the only one as far as he could see not splashing about in the sea.
He sighed, what an ironic twist of fate that they'd be left with just one ship to sail upon.. and two captains. Two captains who happened to be at eachother's throats every chance they got. "What kind of a mess did I get myself in to.." He muttered aloud to himself.

Kitten resurfaced with a scowl darkening her features. She just now realized she would have rather gone down with the ship than to jump overboard and sail on another. It was too late to complain and suicide was the easy way out. She might as well suffer with the rest of the crew. She looked about her. There was only the crew, James's ship, and the vast sea. No means of escape then. Kitten thought to herself as she swam toward the ship. It was going to be a long journey.

Lady fought as best she could under the circumstances. She felt no great loss when the L'Etoile de Mort went down under the beast's fury. But Lady wasn't sure she wanted on those other crew members on Ceridwen's Curse. Especially the other Captain the harmony that Lady usually found with the sea was lacking right now. Shoving her battered hat down on he head she waited for the next great disaster. To her that's what it was a series of great disasters.
Some of the crew was muttering about the new guy claiming he'd summoned something. Lady could've put that to rest easily but decided to let the supertisous (sp?) ones have their way. It was no great loss to her if Thomas heard it or not.

Much to James' dismay, his plan to use the beast's own force against it to gain an advantage failed as the beast countered by utterly destroying Josephine's ship. Instead James found himself slowly falling to the bottom of the ocean, as the shear force from the beast's retreat began to pull him down.
"Oh how fitting, just when I add another ship to my fleet, some monster of legend decides to wake up and ruin everything"
Thought James as he rolled his eyes and let a stream of bubbles escape his mouth. Noticing that the water was filled with debris from the formerly known L'etoile de Mort, he was some what pleased to know his own ship was still intact, though there was still the fact of the ship less crew that was pretty much at his mercy.
Figuring he should figure the rest out amongst breathable conditions, James began to swim up towards the surface...however too slowly for his liking as he was running out of air.
While trying not to panic or struggle to much James managed to notice a hand that was moving back and forth across the water above him and without another thought James quickly grabbed the wayward hand using it to pull him above.
"Oh..Bloody...Hell...my...thanks to...you lad"
Gasped James as he broke the surface of the water and tried to adjust his eyes. However after what seemed to be too much adjustment, James noticed he was still holding the slender, delicate, slightly waterlogged hand of one Josephine Lamort.
"*Ack!* Ahem...Well, it seems not even a creature of biblical proportions can sink you for good, my dear Josephine."
James quickly released her hand and quickly pushed away any faint embarrassed or "blushed" feelings away that young adolescents feel in such an awkward situation.
Turning his gaze towards his ship James had to decide what to do with the stranded lot of pirates at this metaphorical doorstep.
"Alright Lads, cast our lines out to this stranded lot...we won't be leaving anyone out here to welcome back that creature when it decides to return!"
Shouted James to his own crew and signaled them to toss out the ships lines.

Sharing is Difficult
For five year olds...
Captain Josephine arched a brow as her adversary's ashen face flooded with sudden colour, red as the fire in her eye. What a disgusting display of hormonal prepubescent nonsense, it aggravated her. Or so she would have liked it to, instead she merely scoffed and grabbed a hold of the rope that was cast toward them, wrapping an arm around the other Captain's waist whilst. Her eyes narrowed slightly, giving the full impression of a person who had just been sentenced to a life of prison or a depressed teenager that's obsessed with the colour black and was being forced to draw rainbows. Though as they were pulled up and onto the ship, she smiled somewhat arrogantly before releasing him and examined who was still left of their crew.
"Well James, it seems that your crew is all fine and well. A pity you're still alive though."
Stepping over to the side of the Ceridwen's Curse, she examined the waters, observing who was still left from the L'Etoile de Mort.
"Ah Reed, glad to see you're still amongst the living and you as well Kitten. Let's try to get along with the Ceridwen's Curse crew but if they do wrong to you first, kill 'em. I think that's fair, don't you?"
Shrugging negligently at her remark, she turned her heel and walked past James, shouldering him in the process purposely as she headed toward the wheel. Even aboard someone else's ship she still took on the role as a leader, without a care in the world who it belonged to or if the opposing crew disagreed, she'd teach them. Running delicate fingers across the design of the handles she noticed how much rougher the wood was in comparison of that of the l'Etoile de Mort. A magnificent ship, one that she would never get back.
"So James, shall I whip your crew into shape while you're on standby or will you actually do something for once and make use of your pathetic existence, dear?"
A smile formed, a very malevolent one as the crack of a whip was heard at her side.
Oh so she wasn't kidding about whipping them into shape?
Frightening.

Lady was still helping dripping L'Etiole de Mort crew members out of the water (or actually casting ropes and making sure they were climbing) when Josephine arrived. Why does she get to steer... The very childish very angry thought settled in Lady's head her already dark blue eyes darkened until they were very nearly black. But Lady held her tongue. The whip was either a joke (which Lady doubted) or the other Captain was very evil. She looked carefully at the deck automatically assessing the new-comers. Not that it will matter Captain Mine will probably have her first mate running things... Lady thought knowing that the thought was still very childish.

James regretfully went along for the ride as he was pulled up to his ship while having to hold on to his former mate's slender waist. A lack of control or focus on his part had made things even more uncomfortable, yet Captain James Amren knew he could fall back on his ability to keep things manageable enough due to his unusual seemingly ever changing personality skill.
"Ah my dear, a pity indeed that I am still alive...I had intentions of simply sinking to the bottom of the sea and I very well could have if your splashing about hadn't triggered my natural survival instincts"
Said James in a lofty reflective tone of voice as he steadied himself on the ship and sort of half-paced around the wheel.
"However, such is the case and I am very well here to stay...much to you and your crew's dismay I'd venture...over taking this ship isn't going to be that simple"
Then without hesitation James quickly unsheathed his cutlass and pointed it at Josephine's throat, the blade close enough that if the very blade could breath even the slightest of an exhale would be felt.
"Ah my formerly dear dearest of friends, you'd be wise to remember I allowed you and your crew amnesty on my ship, I could have very well done as you would have and left you all to re-introduce yourselves to that beast"
Said James as he added some bite to his still rather reflective voice and slowly guided the blade down the other Captain's body as one would pass their finger above a potential course on a map.
"But, the fact remains that I am not you and in light of that will grant your crew safe passage to the next port...therein we can settle how things will further transpire"
After giving a wry grin and nod of some sense of assurance James placed his cutlass back into the baldric than hung across his chest.
"Well now lads and lasses, let us make the best of a horrible situation, yes? The Curse will guide us to safety and from there things can be put back to more agreeable terms"
Called James as he addressed the entire crew as the sails unfurled and started to carry the survivors away from the wood strewn waters.
"Feel free to take orders from your previous Captains, but know that any orders of significance will pass through me...and be sure to keep that fact at heart lads...or else my feelings will be oh so hurt"
James then smiled and gave a deep bow while sweeping his cavalier hat across his chest, before plopping it snugly upon his head. Such an action didn't seem out of his ordinary overly charismatic nature, however his eyes gleamed with a sense of some inner fire...signaling perhaps that quip or not, not heeding his warnings would cause someone to be burned.

Kitten grinned at her captain's remark, "Ay, wouldn' dare hesitate," she said to almost no one in particular but herself. She flipped her hair to her front and began twisting the water from her long black locks. She removed her bandana in the process and dumped the water splashing around in her goggles out.
Coming back up she glared around the cursed ship which they have ben thrust apon without any other choice but death. She then made her way to a woman who was tossing ropes for the rest of the crew to climb aboard. She looked down into the sea to see who was left and saw Reed drifting casually over to the ship. He always remained so calm, it annoyed her yet she thought it was better than running about like a chicken with it's head cut off. She actually found this current scene quite amusing somehow.

Reed smirked at Josephine's words to her remaining crew. He had to marvel at her ability to still remain arrogant and commanding even now, after her ship was sunk and her crew's forces were cut in half.
Reed caught sight of the rope being cast. The still somewhat dry Reed raced across the floating debris bobbing in the sea and caught the rope. Twisting it around his arm he scaled the side of the ship effortlessly. Standing on the rail he noticed Kitty staring at him. He closed his eyes and shrugged slightly, then continued to stroll along the ship's railing.
He found himself close enough to the captains to overhear their conversation. His expression grew serious. Getting off at next port wasn't in his plans. He crossed his arms thoughtfully. That wouldn't work at all. Seemed a switching of sides was in order.. Amren had the ship, the crew, he'd be continuing on the journey. While Josephine had earned Reed's respect, that meant nothing when weighed against his ambition. Time to join the right side.

Say What?
Yeah, I thought so
Captain Josephine was slightly shocked at the sudden flamboyancy not to mention a sense of resoluteness of her once dear companion, nonetheless it did not phase her the least bit. With a roll of her eyes, she cracked the whip in the air, the black leather serpent striking out in a lightning quick movement to split Captain Amren's hat. A conflaguration in her eyes, as intense as the look James had given her. Just returning the favour. Shrugging a shoulder she began to amble across the ship as in deep contemplation, thoughts really were best conceived through walking...or whilst you're deliciously drunk. However since there was a shortage of the latter, she'd settle for the former. The clicking of her boots against the wooden panels left a sort of eerie atmosphere in the already awkward silence of the Ceridwen's Curse. The situation was rather difficult, very little options were available to her. She could fight, risk losing her only two crew members, she could obey...no that wasn't an option, or she could run and make another come back. Tempting, but it's been done before. Though she could...
" How clumbsy of me. "
Heading towards the edge of the boat, she veered her fiery gaze toward her two remaining crew mates. They'd understand that it wasn't abandonment, but another trick up her sleeve. Hopefully, they wouldn't think of abandonning her in a twist. However, if she could build a crew with scratch, surely she could do it again? In any case, she gave Kitten and Reed a wink before hopping onto the ledge of the ship, grabbing hold of a rope as she spotted a port off in the distance that the ship would be nearing. Looking back a final, she gave sort of salute.
" Oh, I wouldn't dream of starting up something so ghastly on your ship. Afterall, it's out of your hospitality that my crew is even permitted to stay aboard. As for myself, I have no intentions of staying or even compromising with the likes of you. So take those feelings of yours and allow them to transpire down your throat. Don't worry though, I won't break your heart a second time. Well lads, peace... or shall I say war? No worries, I'll be back for my crew though and being the kind and benevolent person you are James, surely you wouldn't deny them shelter? Afterall, it's me who you must loathe. Kitten, Reed take care in the meanwhile. "
With that, Josephine swung on the rope and dived into the ocean. Her entire form disappearing from sight, the only remnant proving that she had jumped was her tricorne captain's hat that floated aimlessly on the water. Would she return?
With all of hell by her side.

OOC: So I noticed only four people excluding little old me remain. I want an honest answer from everyone, did you still genuinely want to continue? Or is it more of a compelled to finish what you've started feeling? I understand that the RPG's been slowly dying again and our story hasn't been really moving, which of course I'm trying to fix however I can't entirely turn this around with not knowing if people are still interested. So yes, no? Also, the last post was kinda weird, apologies on that. And for the people who are still remaining, you're all awesome. Kitten blinked as she watched Josephine wink and dive off the ship. She dropped her bandana and goggles and ran to the side, leaning over the railing to peer into the water. Only her hat was afloat. Kitten, bit the inside of her lip and yelled, "You'd better come back soon cap'ain! You'd better!" She didn't know what she was yelling for. Josephine was long gone probably. She was just shocked that her captain would leave her like that. Despite what she yelled, she trusted her captain to keep her word but she couldnt restrain from saying something, anything. She felt like a complete moron.
Kitten would do as she was told and stay on the ship but she wasn't so sure Reed would be as patient as to continue to be loyal to Captain Josephine because she seemingly abandoned them. He always seemed to have his eyes more set on his own goal more and was merely allowing Josephine lead him to what he wanted. No matter how long she was apart of same crew as him, she didn't trust him one bit and she wouldn't be surprised if he switched sides. Though, she wouldn't let it go so easily.
Turning on her heal, she silently walked back to her items and picked them back up. She adjusted the goggles on her head after wrapping the bandana around the top of her black locks. She placed her hand on her hip, walking to the captain of the current ship. "Captain James was it?" She almost sneered, "May I introduce myself, seeing as we will be occupying the same ship for a while. I am called "Kitten", not "Kitty" or any other demeaning names that you could come up with. Kitten. Show me respect and I will do well to make the same attempt." She held her hand out her other hand for him to shake.

James eyed his former companion for a moment, only to watch her jump over the side of the ship to a watery "escape" it would seem. He had listened to her words carefully but believed not a word, as he knew her far better than to take her words at face value...there was always something more behind them unfortunately.
"Oh what grand plan are you contemplating my dear friend?...thinking rather than acting for once now is it? That doesn't set well, indeed it does not"
Said James to himself as he stared off the ship rather distracted, while tossing aside his now damaged hat to a nearby post...luckily the rather large split gave it some character.
Being somewhat distracted or in a "reflectively preoccupied" state, James hadn't made notice to the Lamort crew member that stood in front of him. His gaze shifted over and down to where the young lady was standing.
"Well now, I most surely though Captain Lamort left the ship just now but it seems she's still here and in front of me no less."
Said James with a hint if sarcasm as he looked over the lass who seemed full of fire much like her captain and then proceeded to give a rather bold laugh.
"Oh just joking I assure you, Kitten is it?"
Grasping her offered hand James gave it a firm shake, surprised by the strength the young lady's hand gave back.
"Ah with a handshake like that and a firm belief in what you desire, you'll have my respect I promise you that Kitten...though I am not much for these secretive names I'd much rather us someone's given name, however to each his own I suppose"
Said James as he released Kitten's hand and gave her a nod with his signature charismatic smile. He then turned to the rest of the crew and was pleased to see everything running smoothly for the most part.
"As the oh so content Captain Lamort stated, I have promised you all safe passage to the next port where we can settle things and being a man of my word and what constitutes as a code around these parts, I will honor my words. We will reach the next port soon enough so help out where you can and let us make the best of things no?"
With that James took the wheel and directed towards the next port, which would hopefully provide a place to sort things out...and at the very least, be without any slumbering sea creatures that happen to feel like waking up.

Kitten gave the hand a nice firm shake, showing that she was not to be triffled with. She was not flattered that he had compared her to her captain but she was not ashamed either. She was content that he had agreed to showing her respect and did not falter when he smiled. The man was indeed handsome, but she's seen plenty pretty faces in the brothel. She refused to be swooned by any man. She didn't think that James's smile was an attempt at anything but she was still paranoid none-the-less.
Turning on her heel, she walked in Reed's direction and stopped beside him. "I'm warning you, betray captain Josephine and I shall gouge your eyes out and toss them into Davey Jones Locker." With that, she walked off to see if anyone else from their ship had survived.

Reed raised a brow as Josephine leaped off of the ship. Indeed he had caught that wink she had directed at her remaining crewmates, but Reed showed no recognition of it in his expression or mannerisms. He merely closed his eyes and turned face as she dissapeared into the sea, his placid expression as constant as always. It seemed nothing could unnerve this young man and his resolve. Reed's hunger to succeed was far too great, as was his confidence in his abilities.
When Kitten approached him, her words made him wonder if he had been too careless. He didnt fear the girl, despite her obvious fighting prowess he still believed himself superior in combat. What did concern him however, was that if he was no longer cautious he would not be able to play both sides...
He narrowed his eyes at the girl coldly, but did not offer a worded response. He nearly felt the need to snicker at her ideals of "loyalty". Foolish girl.. If she, or any if them truly knew what he was capable of..

Somewhere Beyond the Sea
Somewhere, waiting for me
My lover stands on golden sand and watches the ships that go sailin'. Captain Josephine stood over on the docks of La Port de Marion as she watched the other ships load and unload, sail away and sail in. How she managed to get there in less than a day after jumping off the Ceridwen's Curse was a mystery to even that to herself. Pacing about the wooden panels of the docks, she took a swig of rum. God knows she needed a drink. Things were finally lighting up and going her way once more, with just moments of emerging from the water after a long and agonizing swim- not that she'd ever admit for it to be a difficult feat, she had walked into the tavern to find two other captains fighting one another to take charge over one crew. Lucky for Josephine, she ended their quarrel rather diplomatically and took charge of the crew herself.
"Prepare to set sail, boys."
As her newly found crew were in a frenzied haste to follow Captain's orders, Josephine hopped onto the deck and swung over to the mizzen mast. Looking out into the horizon she awaited for the Ceridwen's Curse. Though would they be able to get to this port? Josephone contemplated for a moment, then a smiled formed... Oh, they'd come this way for sure... Can you say fireworks? She hollered over to a tall lanky fellow who seemed just about finished with his work load, "Light me up."
Can you say fireworks?
Kaboom.

OOC: "If I could fly like birds on high, Then straight to her arms I'd go sailing."
"Hmm, you wouldn't be plotting to try and take my ship, would you Reed?"
Said James quite inquisitively as he some how seemed to instantly appear next to the formerly stranded Lamort crew member, which was primarily made possible by the young man's slightly distracted state.
James then twisted his neck so that his face was right in front of Reed's.
"I knew it!...Raise the alarm, toss this traitorous mutineer into the brig...."
Said James as he unsheathed his cutlass and waved it about over his head before raising to an angle that could strike down.
"Or, perhaps the sharks will have at ye, Hmph, to think I wouldn't notice your scheming appearance...You...You...Ha..Hahaha"
With that James burst into laughter as if he had heard the greatest joke or had seen the most marvelous of humorous spectacles.
"Oh, how random of sorts would that have been eh?...To be paranoid seems to only make things worse now doesn't it"
Said James as he nonchalantly sheathed his cutlass and gave Reed a hearty slap to the shoulder, giving him an equally robust grin"
"Ah, I've known some captains who are as such when they see such secretive encounters of crew members...not enough rum if you ask me."
Whether James was trying to break his temporary crew member's pursed appearance or to simply keep him guessing perhaps, he had succeeded in once again making the nearby crew scratch their heads in wonder.
"Well then, Lady take the helm and bring us into that lovely looking port"
Said James as he abruptly transitioned into an order, pointing towards the fast coming port in the distance.
"See that we take caution, for I am sure my waterlogged guest captain will not be greeting us with open arms and a smile"
James then pulled up two crates next to the side of the ship and sat down on one of them, letting his head rest against the railing, the other for Reed if he felt like sitting.
Oh surely Josephine would have something awaiting them, however seeing as she has jumped on her own accord...at least his face would be free of any more potential bruises.

"Sure, captain" Lady replied. She bounded up and took the wheel. The crew was still unsure how to act with Kitten and Reed in their midst. They stiffly went about their duties. Lady noticed it unconsciously she bit the inside of her cheek. She knew they were uncomfortable but what bothered her is they weren't as efficient as usual. The port neared. Lady eased in with a practiced smoothness.

Kitten knew not to underestimate Reed. If captain Josephine had let him on board her ship then he must have some fighting ability to substitute for his lack of speech. She was on her toes. Here on this ship, he trusted no one. She was well aware that Josephine had something up her sleeve, Kitten was just weary of the amount of time it would take for her captain to make her move. She made her way to the railings and calmly waited for the ship to arrive at the port.

Reed's expression faltered and he nearly fell over in surprise, James seemed to come from nowhere just as he was in the middle of brooding thought and.. with accusations.. could he be so easily read? Reed's fingers grazed the worn handle of his cutlass, his expression tense with anticipation. His blue and green eye lighted with focus, his heart raced as.. as.. Captain Amren burst into laughter.
Reed nearly fell over in comical fashion due to shock. Regaining his composure he cleared his throat uncertainly, a weak attempt at covering up his guilty actions. As James continued in his speech Reed couldn't hold back the grin that appeared on his otherwise solemn features. This man was definately.. something else. He would keep Reed on his toes, that was for certain. It was nearly impossible to know what he was thinking.. although Reed could assume that he was far more intelligent and tactful then he allowed those around him to believe. Reed felt an unusual, and still slight, admiration for this man.. that maybe Captain Amren would be able to earn his respect.. maybe. Respect was something hard fought when coming from Reed.
He took a seat on the offered crate and allowed a brief sigh to escape from his lips. The events of the day were certainly out of the ordinary.. there was no telling what would come in the future for him or this crew.
"So.." he began aloud without turning towards Amren, "I wonder, what are your plans once me make port?"

OOC: Hmm, disregard the above post please. You the whole not following the rules didn't sign up and all that jazz.
"Ah my plans eh?...Well I can tell you I certainly plan on not getting anywhere near that Captain of yours, last time I left a port after bumping into her, her fist found its way bumping into my face"
Said James as he laughed slightly and shifted his eyes to Reed without lifting his head from his relaxed position on the railing. He hadn't noticed, nor would have given much attention to, Reed's reaction to his previous statement.
"Ha, well to answer your question in another way, I had simply planned on letting the "guests" of my ship off to rejoin their captain and to restock my own ship before setting out once again."
James then sat up and placed his elbows on his knees while his hands fidgeted with the gray bandanna across his brow.
"And as for what follows, I am unsure of...I still possess my map and that gives me the advantage I suppose, however knowing your captain she'll find some way of getting me to create a copy or something of the sort"
Said James as his voice lacked any sort of humor instead taking on what some would take as normal.
"Nonetheless, I am prepared for many a scenario...preparation which I sadly can not divulge to you my good man...I have to have some leverage that keeps me captain of my own ship eh?"
With that James paused before letting a wry or perhaps slightly devious smile that someone in control of things would have, cross his face.
"Alright lads, time to make final preparations before we reach the port ahead"
Called James as he brought himself to a standing position before opting to simply return to sitting down.
As he looked towards he nearing port he wondered indeed what would his plans be and for that fact, what had Josephine planned.

Welcome to Death
Free hangings by the guillotine, limited time only!
Captain Lamort narrowed her perceiving and cold eyes as she veered through the rather expensive looking refracting telescope in her hands. Insatiable eyes of a beast searching for its prey observed the vast horizon for the Ceridwen's Curse, her prey. It was dusk, the fireworks long finished and the sanguine rays of the rising sun began to wash away the dreary blackness of the night's sky. Cool winds breezing gently as a light salty mist emerged from the sea, refreshing to the skin. Josephine was still out on the docks as she awaited for the ship to arrive, gracefully long fingers tapping on the contraption she sat upon. It was a behemoth gadget, a simple iron beast slightly rusted by the waters, there was many of them in fact... Several of these metallic monsters lined up like cattle. Canons. Josephine had arranged for them to set off one after the other even if she were to light them all at the same time, the trick was the length of the rope behind behind them. Each had a calculated measure to ensure they would fire even with only one person to light them.
Of course, she had a crew, two dozen men on the new ship she had won from another captain. A stout and licentious minded fellow who instantaneously was captivated by Josephine's fiery beauty, thinking her to be nothing more than another one of those simple-minded cavern girls. Of course, Josehine was far more clever than that. She had challenged him to a drinking contest, whoever could drink the most shots of vodka would win. The stakes? They were never really discussed, the fat man was too absorbed with winning and perhaps scoring a night with the opposing female, he had completely forgotten to arrange anything. Once the competition started, the stout Captain was already so bloody intoxicated he collasped within his first three shots. Taking advantage of the opportune moment, Josephine drew her sword and killed the man, his first mate, and four other captains who were spectating the event. With five captains gone, where could their respective crews go? Why with Josephine no doubt.
Now as she awaited for the Ceridwen's curse to draw nearer, she ordered for her new ship, The Bloody Maiden (quite suiting for someone like Josephine), to meet up with the other ship as it came toward the docks. They were certainly in for a surprise. Another half hour passed before the opposing ship had finally arrived, The Bloody Maiden seemed to suddenly appear from the mist itself as it trailed behind the Ceridwen's Curse as it inched to port. After lighting up the canons which would commence fire in a few minutes, Captain Lamort jumped onto another nearby ship conveniently parked adjacent to her and took hold of a rope by the mast, swining aboard the Ceridwen's curse.
There was a fog by the port, lucky for Josephine, which disabled them from seeing the canons about to explode and her own lithe being swining onto their ship. With silent efficiency, Josephine landed by, James, just the person she was hoping to see, and withdrew a jeweled dagger, carefully approaching from behind his person. She snaked an arm around his neck and inclined his head slightly to the size, exposing his bare throat to the dagger within her other hand. Their position almost looked like an amorous one, save the blade by his throat. Her lips just over his ear as she whispered not so sweet words with her mellifluous voice.
"Hello, James. Miss me, love?"
The Bloody Maiden fired their own canons toward the Ceridwen's Curse as soon as the sound from the first canon upon the docks resonated cacophonously as it fired. The sudden explosions would have muffled Josephine's greeting, if she hadn't been so close to Captain James.
"You're cornered, darling. So, what will it be?"

"Oh, well I wouldn't say I missed you my dear, I'd being inclined rather to say..."
Said James as he found himself in a rather precarious position, though no trace of nervousness was in his voice as a knife to the throat seemed a customary greeting he received quite often for some reason.
However, upon shifting his eyes to the scene around them whether it was some form or terror or a great admiration for such a trap, he was left speechless.
"Bloody hell Josephine what have you done?"
James thought as his mind quickly raced to devise his next course of action. Firstly he needed to get free, his fiery former companion seemed past simple insults and jabs, for once he'd need to get serious...or somewhere in the vicinity. Somewhat regretting his decision to have sat down once again as Josephine had an advantage over his movement, James was still confident he could make do.
"Well love, I hope you know I do this only as a last resort...my apologies"
Said James as his voice returned to its oddly charismatic tone before ending with what seemed as some true sincerity.
With that James quickly turned his head in a calculated angle causing the blade to make its mark upon his cheek and then proceeded to whip his head backwards, the back of his head making contact with Josephine's forehead...freeing him from her hold.
After a quick roll James brought himself to his feet with his cutlass drawn, his face now bleeding rather steadily yet his eyes remained attached to his opponent.
"Alright lads, our lovely friend Captain Lamort wants to test our limits it seems...well then, continue to the port with haste, I promised we'd dock and we bloody hell well will even if we have no ship to tie up at the end"
James then pointed his blade towards the captain and gave an odd smile as if he'd willing signed away his life yet was somehow able to be content about it.
"Come Josephine...you've made it rightly apparent insults just won't settle things this time"

Unbeknownst to the crew only a short distance away was a massive Navy vessel cutting it was through the chopping seas to their location. At the helm stood a man dressed in what seemed as overly formal garb. His eyes squinted as he noticed the clouds of smoke that were forming around the area outside the port.
A scheming smile crossed his young face and he gave a motion with his hand, causing his crew to scurry about as they seemed to unfurl an unending amount of sails. Things were going to get even more interesting, very soon.

Kitten was surprised to see her captain back in the flesh so soon but was enraged when she saw captain James aiming his weapon at Josephine. Her blood boiled as she swiftly whipped out her pistol to blow off the man's hand.

She pulled the trigger, but nothing happened.

Frustrated with her firearm, she looked at it and gave it a shake. Little black droplets of water flung out of the barrel. Kitten cursed loudly and threw it down with brute force. The water had completely rendered her gun useless.
With that she took her ax from it's pouch and charged at James, ready to stop on the command of Captain Josephine.

Three daggers hit the deck before Captain James's feet. Christopher walked from his personal captains room with rum in his hand. He looked at his beloved captain and nodded to her.
"Happy to see you well and alive captain." Chris throw a dagger stopping Kitten from throwing away her life. This man was skilled and by the looks of it was ready to kill if needed. Christopher however was the same. He would kill for his captain.
"So.....how we going to do this mate?" Slowly slipped from his mouth as he throw both his pistols down and drew two cutless. He pointed one as James and another at Reed. Two people he didn't trust.
"With them or with us Reed. Make your choose and make the right one." Chris shook his head shaking away the rum induced headache he had. He had climbed on to the ship after their's was destroyed and found a nice place to sleep and eat before he went into James's room taking some rum, money and taking a few maps. All in a days work. Chris was a great First Mate after all. What better way to great his captain and her new ship then with rum and maps. Ah......

Lady felt infruriated, not on James account. She was only as loyal as she felt like being and at the present she thought that the captain could take care of himself. She was only mad because they were being fired upon. In truth Ceridwen's Curse wasn't Lady's but she tended to it like a mother hen. She was going to get this ship to port if it killed her. She looked around at the crew. "Keep going" She said keeping hold of the wheel as if it were child and she was afraid it would suddenly stolen from her arms. In truth Lady did sort of consider Ceridwen's Curse her child, of course if she wanted to organize an uprising there had better well be a ship to take control of.

Kitten skidded to a hault as the dagger landed in front of her. She glared up at Chris though the look was not directed at him. She began to try and control her breathing through clenched teeth. She straightened up and bent down with ease to snatch up the dagger. Chris seemed to be talking to Reed at the moment. Now that Josephine was back, her concern was no longer Reed. She stormed forth and stopped beside Chris, raising her rusted iron ax to point it at James. "I would highly advise you to lower your weapon, seeing as you are a gentlemen and should not be threatening the life of a lady." Kitten said to the captain of Cerudwen's Curse with a hint of sarcasm on the last bit.

Battle Royale
The maximum of hatred for the minimum of reason.
"You shouldn't make promises that you can't keep, James."
Captain Lamort brought her free hand to her mouth to stifle a yawn before whipping the dagger toward Captain Amren. The blade flew just beyond the top of head to slightly graze across his bandana as she bolted forward to tackle him onto the ground like a feral animal. Grabbing James by the collar with one arm she pressed down his arm that held his cutlass, her lips quirked slightly in a half smirk. It was an awkward position yet again, but effective, Josephine had to stall for time before her crew arrived. Whilst holding James by the neck, Josephine couldn't help but stare into his eyes, a momentary look of discombobulation was evident upon her facade before making a disgusted sound and to allow his head drop back down with a thud. The female captain's eyes seemed to glow malevolently in vehement passion while she withdrew a pistol from within her black dublet and aimed it betwixt the eyes she had just been looking into.
"Any last words?"
As if on cue, the crew of the Bloody Maiden had reached the Ceridwen's Curse, crew members swinging onto the opposing ship with weapons at hand. The canons continued to fire along with the triple guns, set to destroy the entirety of the ship. It was sheer pandamonium, scurvy dogs running about like wild beasts with the primordial instinct of killing. Blades turned against blades, pistols pointed at one another while others merely shuffled on the floor to knock eachother out. There was a maelstrom of debris and wood as the canonfire resumed; total chaos achieved. All that was left was to retrieve the map and kill off all adversaries. It would be all over in due time.

Captain Amren couldn't do much to stop his fellow captain's hastened assault and keeping an eye on the opposing crew made the situation even more taxing.
Previous experiences would remind him to keep calm but thoughts did only so much in reality, especially when one's head was bounced off the hard wooden deck of a ship.
Nevertheless for some odd reason seeing the icy blue gaze of those eyes falter for a brief moment before quickly turning back to their vicious state made the estranged predicament almost tolerable.
"Last words eh?...well my dear I'd much rather divulge them to someone who'd appreciate them or better yet be worthy of hearing such a legendary linguistic parting glass"
Said James as he narrowed his eyes to a slight squint, while keeping a wry grin on his face.
"And I most surely keep my promises, for I am able to understand the significance of doing so...unlike those who've taken an easy way out by discarding such an ability"
James' expression changed slightly to a more serious one, bordering close to anger though one wouldn't think his face ever used that emotion.
"However Josephine, I must commend you on your talent of creating one bloody hell of a brawl...insight chaos to divert attention away from you eliminating the slightly sullied yet undeniably more talented captain"
Laughed James as he returned to a more familiar state before quickly forcing Josephine backward, the jolt causing the pistol to fire into the air.
"Oh what a pity, if you weren't so intent on drawing out the suspense of my potential demise my dear, you would have saved yourself the trouble of having to cross blades.
With a swift movement of his hand across his boot James whistled a dagger towards Josephine, the unadorned blade cutting across the rival captain's leg.
Cutlass in hand James readied himself for a calculated strike, though was slightly distracted by a ship that seemed to be heading their way a little bit to quickly.
"Hmph, More friends of your's Lamort?" Whined James as he gave her a raised eyebrow and a forcibly pained look.

Let's Dance
Right off the plank
Taking the slight distraction to her advantage, Josephine quickly swung her uninjured leg right across James' face before swinging it again to knock the cutlass from his grasp. Quickly rolling to the side, she retrieved the cutlass and withdrew her own, a slight pained expression to her face from the laceration on her leg, nonetheless it only seemed to fuel her fury even more.
"Oh, any enemies of my enemy are certainly my friends. However, I have no idea who these nice people are."
Immediately, Captain Lamort pointed one of the cutlasses she held toward James as she took a slightly staggered step forward. Once she was within a close enough range, she tapped his jaw with the end of the blade before dropping it and sent out a balled fist for his face instead to knock him down to the ground. Momentarily, she waved her hand slightly as it stung slightly from the extreme force of the punch and examined it. Josephine let out a bit of scoff as she glared at the opposing Captain beneath her.
"You made me break a nail."
Females. As more and more other pirates boarded the Ceridwen's Curse, Josephine quickly examined the lot. The other ship had managed to get past the Bloody Maiden and was now right beside the Ceridwen's Curse, a strange silhouette could be seen by the helm, a tricorne hat upon the figure's head indicating that that person was the captain. There was a blow from the cannons that zoomed just a foot above Captain Lamort and within a blink of an eye the figure disappeared from the opposing ship and had swung right before her and James. This newly arrived Captain withdrew a rifle and fired, his voice raised above the cacophonous symphony of fighting.
"What's this? A party and I received no invitation? And what's worse, my two best friends didn't invite me?"

"Not the face, not the face..." Pleaded James inwardly as his face was once again bearing the full brunt of his former companions assault. Injuring Josephine at this current point in time seemed to be turning into a severe miscalculation on his part. Not only was she mad, the devilish woman was in pain which only heightened her drive to hurt him. And because of those factors his face was indeed struck not once, but twice and with two different body parts.
Luckily for him Josephine still seemed to be toying with him which meant as painful as it was, a fist to the face was far better than a slit of his throat.
"My...apologies my dear Josephine, I explicitly remember telling you once that those nails would only get in the way"
Said James a bit hazy, his mouth tasting of blood from the beating it had just taken. He groggily pulled himself to a knee and searched for his cutlass. After a quick sweep of his hand across the deck he retrieved the cutlass only to find another figure on the deck once he came to a standing position.
"Well for once I agree with you my former friend, these others are not your friends...especially not this one"
James peered across at the well dressed and adorned man standing before Josephine and him. It didn't take long for James' expression to change to one of actual disgust and anger once he realized who the man was. However this showing of how he probably felt inside was quickly gone as he simply reverted back to his cheeky "normal" facade.
"Well, bloody hell look who it is Josephine, our old shipmate Percy Talbot...I expected you'd be rotting in a shabby port somewhere"
Called James as he seemed to be almost forcing his usual sense of humor.
"But here you are, with the Navy of all things...my my, where has the time gone?"
