Avast, you scurvy dogs! In 1705, the golden age of piracy. Many pirates came to the Caribbean after the end of the War of the Spanish Succession. They all seemed to flood to Port Royal and Tortuga. This is where we begin, the great Turtle Island, Tortuga, in a race for the the great enigmatic city of Atlantis where boundless undiscovered treasures remain hidden from the world. Will the great mystical Atlantis be able to be located? What monsters and obstacles lie between the pirates and the long lost treasure of Atlantis? However, there's one little problem... the captains. They were once great allies, but now they're not so close anymore, in fact they're racing agaisnt eachother to see who will get to Atlantis first. And you as a filthy and greedy ol' pirate obviously would like a share of the loot. So it's up to you to choose your captain to lead you along to get that treasure!

Before you sign up, remember there is no magic, no super fantastic talking animals, you can't have special abilities (ie: advanced vision, telekinesis etc). You cannot be a captain, it's first come- first pick. If the rank you want has been chosen already, my apologies but tough luck.

**Just because you cannot be a captain, you can always rebel and try to become the new captain of whatever ship you choose. But folks, let's not have everyone wanting to be captain every other post and make sure it's at reasonable times. By that I mean, at appropriate situations, don't just randomly say " I wanna be captain!" when we're looking at a map or something. You may also want to discuss this with your other fellow pirates, can you sense the conspiracy?!

Name: Captain Josephine Lamort
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Weapon: Cutlass and pistol.
Appearance: Lithe form, fiery scarlet hair, contrastingly icy blue eyes and with all the charm and beauty that could stop a man in his tracks. Josephine wears a black leather tricorne hat with an exotic bird feather, silver hoop earrings, blue cotton bandana, black doublet with a beige puff sleeve shirt on the inside with sanguine hued leggings and atramentous leather boots.
Personality: Captain Lamort is a tough sassy female who manages her ship with an iron fist, many fear her vehement persona as she is often assertive and holds a high air of authority. She's quite infamously known for her cranky smart mouth, prone to excessive violence behavior and not to mention her extremely hot temper. Often does Captain Lamort use her innocently sweet and pulchritudinous appearance as a mask to often ruse men into giving her clues when in search for treasure or for money.

Bio: Born to a poverish family in France, Captain Lamort was sold as a skivvy in Tortuga where she met and worked with her fellow knave James Armen. There they grew up together and what started off as childhood friendship eventually led to a more serious relationship. A relationship that wasn't exactly a successful one, they constantly quarreled over ridiculous matters and usually had different opinions on everything; nonetheless they stuck together. For years they worked aboard the Ceridwen's Pride Ship en masse, where eventually James was appointed the new captain of the ship. At this Josephine was astonished for she would have thought that she'd inherit their Captain's ship on account of her leadership abilities. Thus the couple broke off the relationship and went their separate ways. After about a year, Josephine had established her own ship called l'Etoile de Mort.

Name: James Amren
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Weapon: Cutlass and Array of concealed Knives.
Appearance: Captain Amren stands at a respectable 6’0 and has a well-built body toned by his life long sailing of the seas. His seemingly kind dark brown eyes and clean-shaven face give him an uncommon look for someone in his profession. Keeping his garb reactively simple, he sports a white medieval like shirt underneath his black pirate-like vest, a set of matching black pants and a pair of tough leather boots that are each adorned with a matching boot knife.
A worn baldric across his chest and a gray bandana across his brow, in which his spiky short black hair peaks over, complete his outfit. He is said to have a captain’s coat and cavalier style hat of the same design, though he is never seen wearing them.
Personality: Personality wise, Capt. Amren is the carefree or laid back type of person. Being rather indifferent about things he often comes off as rather unmotivated, to the point of being somewhat lazy. However, once treasure or something of interest is involved, few can match the Captain’s determination and focus of the matter at hand. Though not as forceful or intimidating as a typical pirate captain, his wit and intellect keep him a step ahead of those who’d doubt his ability.

Bio: Most likely born in some port of England, James Amren was the son of a poor fisherman and his sickly wife. After his mother’s death, James’ father did his best to raise his son but sadly also passed when his vessel was lost in a storm. Somehow James’ then found his way to the bustling port of Tortuga, where he met his soon to be companion Josephine Lamort. Being alone they found they could rely on one another and soon found themselves as crew members aboard the Ceridwen’s Pride. From that point on their close friendship grew into something more, what that was neither of them could seem to figure out. As well as things seemed they soon were cut short by their captain’s mortal wounding in battle in which he declared their beloved ship was now James’. This surprised both friends, as James’ was always the “sidekick” to Josephine following her lead and offering his own abilities to their combined effectiveness. The arguments that followed were no longer in good humor, as they called into question each other’s loyalty. Therefore, the companions parted ways and haven’t spoken at length since. Shortly afterward, James’ renamed the Ceridwen’s Pride to the Ceridwen’s Curse signifying both what the ship had done and what it could do to any that stood in its way.

Name: Christopher Mose AKA Port Royal's Runaway Devil
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Weapon: A large array of throwing knives that are hidden all over his body. Boot blades in both shoes. Blades that come out of his sleeves. Twin gunpowder guns. Holds up to three bullets at one time.
Appearance: He wears nice royal clothes that he was born with. They are brown like his short hair that he wears both down and spiked. His shoes are brown and very expensive. He wears a white dress shirt under the suit. He also has light brown eyes that help him charm the ladies.
Personality: A very loyal man he Kills anyone he has to. He is quick to fight like his captain and has a bad side when it comes to splitting loot. He does hold his captains drea in his hands and hopes to help her get what she wants.

Bio: Born in Port Royal's Rich district, Christopher did things to get in trouble. His father would free him by the time he was caught. He hated that and grew up on stories of pirates and their journeys. He them set out and joined a pirate ship. After killing everyone on the ship he made his way to the pirate center of the world. Tartoga(sorry if i spelled it wrong.) That is where he went Josephine Lamort. He joined her and became her first mate and second in command. He will never leave her side because she is different then the other captains. She is a women and is feared. He likes that.

Shiver me timbers, welcome aboard laddy. Although, I do have a small issue with your weapons. Rather the amount of daggers you carry, let's try and not get carried away here. You can't possibly have hundreds of daggers. If you can fix that, that would be great.

Hollow Ichigo, I have a small request as well. Guns back then couldn't hold that many bullets, in fact as deadly as they were they took a long time to reload. Some could shoot more than one bullet, but it was all at the same time. So having two guns is perfectly fine but they cannot fire continuously for seven shots.

I've been waiting for a Pirates of the Carribean RP! YEAH! *clears throat* here goes absolutley everything

Name: Catherina Cothel AKA Lady (most people don't know her true name)
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Weapon: cutlass (in plain sight) and pistol (hidden underneath a heavy coat)
Appearance: Lady has wild cloud of dark curls that she keeps stuffed underneath an old straw hat. She wears a fitted blue tunic with a black vest then a heavy overcoat that looks as if it's seen better days. She has a pair of breeches (not quite sure if that's the right time-period correct me if I'm wrong) and old men's boots. The way she hides her body and hair lady has been mistaken for a guy more than once.
Personality: On the surface Lady seems carefree and seems to be one egg short of a dozen. But if provoked Lady shows her ruthless, cold and calculating side. At times it's hard to see where her loyalty lies...that is if she possesses any.

Bio: Catherina was born to an English family they weren't by and means rich but they weren't quite poor either. Her father only came to visit occassionally, each time he brought back ill-gotten gold and gifts to his only daughter and wife. But being a pirate he couldn't stand by his wife and duaghter for long he disappeared one day Catherina's mother eventually got remarried to a fisherman only to dy a few months later in childbirth. No one is quite certain what happened in the years in between but eventually Lady met up with Captain Amren and she circumspectly promised to help him with his goal.

Personality: A bit of a clumzy girl but loyal to her captain and the first mate. Can be childish at moments but also can be very seriuous if she needs to be.

Bio: None is really sure how scrawny came on the ship. some say she was sold to the captain others say she was found abandoned on the street by him. Only a few know she was a gypsy child who was given to the captain by her grandmother in order to save her from a possible death. it's unclear how her grandmother mannaged to pursuit the captain to take her along though not she herself knows.

Gender: Male

Weapon: 2 Cutlasses which he always carries on his person. He's created his own style of fighting using both blades and is revered for his artistic like technique and flawless movement. Reed finds no need for a gun, and does not carry one, although he is somewhat skilled in hand to hand combat should the need arise.

Appearance: Average height, tan skin, long black hair that spikes out untamely. He has one bright green eye and one icy blue eye, which are his most pronounced features. Personality: Quiet and eerily calm, he keeps a cool head in the most desperate of situations. Reed is all business, all the time, and is not known to show emotions. He rarely speaks unless spoken to or only if he feels it is necessary. Reed's main focus is himself and himself only. He hardly ever goes out of his way for others, and usually only if it is in his own best interest. He's definately a cutthroat pirate and shows a sadistic and cruel side when immersed in battle. Reed has already made a name for himself as a prized fighter despite his young age, and is well known throughout Tortuga.

Bio: Reed was born the son of a wealthy millitary captain. His mother was the daughter of a rich aristocrat herself. During one of his father's voyages, he failed miserably and lost a multitude of his men, and was also accused of treachery. With his father's career in ruin, Reed's family name of Rackham fell to shame. His father William, having lost all respect from his peers, shot himself. His mother, no longer living a privelaged life, committed suicide as well through poisoning. Reed, at the age of 17, was scorned as an outcast and left his home to join a passing pirate crew. Eventually he arrived at Tortuga, where he grew to be an average businessman and was often recruited to various ships as a hired hand because of his admirable fighting ability. His latest venture led him to the famed L'Etoile de Mort, where he signed on as part of the crew in hopes of furthering his reputation. Because he is so mysterious, there are few who know Reed's true history, and he'd prefer to keep it this way.

Name: Roger Blaine

Gender: Male
Weapon: A dueling pistol and dagger
Appearance: A stout man of average height, with an owlish face and two bright grey eyes set behind spectacles. He usually wears travel-worn middle class clothes, most notably a brown coat stuffed with maps, pens, charts, and papers.
Personality: Roger is a very calm and removed from his surroundings. When consulting the maps, they hold his focus completely. When off duty, he doesn't drink, fight, or gamble. He has an air of approachable kindness to him that you don't often see in pirates. When playing the doctor, though, he becomes cranky, especially when he patients won't do as he says.

Rank: Navigator, occaisonal doctor
Bio: Roger doesn't speak much of his past, though it's evident he was born into a wealthy family and was awarded the oppritunity to study quite often. He knows several languages, how to read maps, sea charts, wind diagrams, and just about anything else that comes across his worktable. He's learned in the Bible and ancient myths. He's studied ancient battles, both on land and sea. In short, he's a renaissance man in every arena except combat. He's a poor shot at anything moving and slow to use his dagger. It's his mental skills that earned him a place aboard the L'Etoile de Mort, and he's proven his worth again and again.

Pistol: Yes, an ordinary single paroled polished and stained run of the mill pistol. He keeps it at his belt near the front.

Personality: Strong willed, mysterious, quiet. Intelligent in his ways and calm, calculating. He speaks only when there is a true point, or when he says his prayers. He is a religious man, even though he's a pirate. Many would call him a sissy for his manner of gentlemen like ideology. But under all that he too has a sense of adventure.

Bio: Jai'in is the son of a French woman and a Spanish pirate, he was raised though by the Spanish Guard and knights of the Spanish crown because his father was always out at sea and he lived near a castle where several guards patrolled about. His father died in a raid of a small island town where the British were waiting for them. When news of his father's death came he was only a young lad. His mother married one of the guards of the Spanish kingdom and from him he learned how to fence and dagger fight and as cruel and unusual a fighting style for a Guardsman or otherwise 'Musketeer' as the French might call him, his step father taught him the ways of fighting with both Cutlass and dagger.

But he taught him more then just ways of defending himself through steel, he taught him the code of a gentleman and the code of a more 'Knightly' principle. Although his mother was executed when the Crown found out she had a child with pirate's blood. This was when he was about sixteen. Though a few of his father's old friends had taken him in after finding him at sea in a small boat, quite a chance find just passing by the Spanish town. He had attempted to make a break for it but winded up starved. Though from there on he lived his life as a pirate, and it had become the life for him just as the 'song' says. But he still relishes the code of 'Chivalry' like proportions, because he saw the actions of the Spanish crown as to go against the very beliefs they held.

He found his way onto Jame's Amren's ship after a small bar room brawl in Tortuga. He had stayed the blade of a stray drunkards strike from a crew members back, defecting it up into the ceiling by sure luck. From then on he was assigned as 'Navigator' because of his way of figuring around maps and currents. These skills which he learned from years of sailing with his father's old comrades.

He wears a long sleeved white shirt under a black overcoat and dark brown pants and black boots, topped off with a black cavalier hat with a small white and black feather. He has six small hoops, 3 on both ears, all on his cartilage and has a silver cross earring on his left earlobe.

Personality: A kind, caring person, he tries avoiding unnecessary fights. He’s a happy kind of person and rarely has negative thoughts, and is often seen smiling.

Bio: Ever since he was a little kid, he had wanted to be a pirate, being told stories about the adventures his father had once gone on with his crew, and stories about his grandfather, and his great-grandfather, trailing back to a 10 year generation of pirates. Jacob loved pretending to be a captain of his own pirate ship, playing around with his friends. But at the age of 15, his dream of being a pirate vanished after a small pirate crew that raided the village killed his family. Everyone expected him to change his mind about becoming a pirate, but his want to become a pirate, grew much stronger. But now, he wanted to become one to show the people he came across that there are good pirates, ones that don’t want to fight, raid villages and kill for no apparent reason. He had joined James Amren’s ship because he loved adventures, and the one this captain was on, sounded like the stories his father used to tell him.

Personality: Harth is a gentalmen at heart, he doesn't believe in mindless killing so he only strikes when he has to. He has great posture and likes to keep things clean, he is also a wonderful cook. Harth can entertain people by playing his flute while the seas are calm.

Bio: Harth loved pirates ever since he was a boy, he always heard stories from his mother and father about the great adventures pirates went on, and of course the story of various famous pirates. But he was also told to be weary of the Blood thristy pirates who only cared about killing and looting from villagers. Ironically, he was kidnapped by those types of pirates when his village was attack by pirates. He was forced to cook and play music along with that he learned to use the cutless. for the pirates for many days and many nights, eventually he was able to escape from the pirate ship. He floated for 14 months, living off of nothing but raw fish and sea gulls, until a ship vessel found him...the captain was none other than Captain Josephine Lamort, she offered him a position as the Cabin boy, he accepted but also became the ships musician. He also modified his weapon with some snake venom he stole from the other ship, and put a little on the end of his cutless, and then forever called him self Poison Snake.

Please adjust the following
1) Even though it's a bio, please take the Jack Sparrow reference out. No characters from "that PotC" are in this Rpg, in fact they don't even exist as this Rpg only shares the name not the storyline.

2) While it's no huge deal, I'd ask you to change your bio when mentioning Captain Amren. It's ok to mention him, but try not to make him doing something he wouldn't normally do (i.e. Attack another ship). He would however extend an offer to someone if he was the victor in a provoked battle.

3) This is completely optional and has no effect on the approval, but I'd ask you to possibly consider joining the other crew simply as a means for balancing out the crew count. Again its completely up to you and staying on Captain Amren's side is no problem. Just for interactions sake we want to try and keep things even.

I usually don't choose girls wear things so revealing but it contributes to her bio but she does have longer dirty-white pants that reach her knees but reveals a bit of her hips through laces. Also, her hair is black.
Personality: Kitten contradicts her name in all sorts of ways. She is rough and acts as if she were one of the men. She seems to have an endless supply of energy, hence she doesn't tire out easily. She sneers, she spits, she drinks, and she's obnoxious but she's very playful. She knows how to read a person quite well and is very logical in her reasoning for doing things. She's not sweet unless you catch her in a random moment, but most of the time she's rowdy and sour with her attitude. Aside from all of this she is very respectful of those who she deems worthy of her respect, but she mainly respects Josphine.

Bio: Kitten was born in England and had lost her parents by the age of nine. She wandered the terrible streets of England for about a year, stealing whatever she could and not following the rules at all. She was finally captured by the cops and was about to be put in an orphanage when a man had come up, as if on cue, to offer her shelter. It turned out that the man owned a brothel in one of the worst parts of the city. His name was Caleb Amgard.

By the age of 13 Kitten was playing her part in the brothel to work off the fees all of the free food and supplies she was given in her four years of living with Caleb. He had given her a certain amount that he wanted her to pay back before he let her go off on her own, but when she had given him the full amount at the age of 16 (she was popular with the customers) he added more charges onto her tab. Out of pure rage Kitten had snuck into his room that night with his servant's boarding axe and chopped his arm clean off from the elbow down. His scream wasn't even heard for there was a sudden ruckus at the harbor.

On her way out of the mansion, Kitten had grabbed a rope and tied it to the wrist of the dispatched limb. She ran through the town waving the arm which sprinkled her frame with blood and continuously yelled, "I shalln't be bought! I shalln't be bought anymore!" This had caught the attention of Captain Josephine Lamort and before Kitten knew it, she was sailing with the pirates.

I find that the most difficult problem with people getting too far ahead in posting is the fact that you get some of those people who like to 'back and forth' post. Usually if that's eliminated things don't get too out of control ^^;

And Shobu, I believe Hollow Ichigo already took that position.

I was just curious though, if someone wanted to try and commandeer a first mate position or navigator position, instead of trying to attain the position of captain, would that also be allowed?

Shobu_Shimizu: Not Accepted. Please adjust the following:
1) As Mia said the First Mate position has already been filled. Please change your rank to Sailor as it is the only rank currently left (on both ships).

Mia: While I'll leave that question up to Flah (letting her handle something for once) I will say it is a very nice idea. Leading me to think that there's no reason why ranks couldn't change throughout the story. A Captain may come into disfavor with someone (i.e send 'em to the brig) and demote them, making someone else that position.
It would also be a possibility for someone to perhaps switch sides. Not an easy feat but Pirates could be persuaded (a bigger cut of the booty) by the other captain. If anything else It could serve as a good test of loyalty and character development.
Therefore in my long-winded "non-answer" answer, I would think it would mainly rely on the timing of the event much like the captain option Flah suggested. So a first post like "Hi you're the first mate?...well its my turn now *stab*" wouldn't work that well.

Personality: John is a good man. One cannot know if he began his pirate life that way, but, after ten years, he has learned valuable lessons. He will not kill or maim unless absolutely necessary. He does not hit women, though provoked enough to do so. He does live by a code, a code that has been modified over ten years. He is happiest when seeking “that horizon.” By himself, he will harm no man, woman, or child. But provoke him or do wrong by him, watch out! John Arwen has a long memory and a keen mind for plans and details.

Bio/History
John lived a pirate life since he was born, his father was a famous pirate but his mother didn’t enjoy his line of work. Ever since john found out what his father was, he was inspired he always imagined life on the sea so he followed in his fathers footsteps. He learned the basics of pirating, he stole from local merchants and hussled random people on the streets, he learned how to be a successful swordsmen. He learned everything about being a pirate from his father. Around Johns neck he wears a gold pirate Medallion given to him by his father.

1) You need more of a detailed apperance than having He looks like Jack Sparrow. And while it gives an easy visual of your character, you need something more creative than that.
I think changing the description of the appearance, take a look at the other's descriptions or neutral pictures (not being an easily "known character"), of their characters will make a big difference. Because presently your character is just like Jack Sparrow with out actually "being" Jack Sparrow.

I think being able to switch positions is a great idea, but to make it fair let's not always go " I want that rank!" every other post. Also, try and make it fit with what's going on at the current moment. Pirates are big on majority votes, that's how captain's are chosen. So if anything you could all turn agaisnt one character and nominate the other. Though, I'd like to ask that people refrain from doing that all the time as well. In any case though, go for it! Be creative too.

Appearance:Slick back and spiked blonde hair, Emerald green eyes and a white eyepatch on his left eye. A seemingly oversized green overshirt and a tight, silky, white undershirt, both of them are short sleeved.White, form fitting pants and green sandals.

Personality:Raziel is stupid(ish), very nice, likes to help people. But strangely, he is also a little shy sometimes especially around women, ESPECIALLY around women that come on to him. He plays around with his "Knife Yo-yo's" a lot and does fancy tricks with them. If he were ever to lose someone he cared for dearly, he would cry....A lot...yes that's right he's a little crybaby. Also, if he loved somebody, he would do pretty much anything for them.(He would'nt kill himself if the person asked him to unless there is a good reason...doubtful....I love contradicting myself) Anyways, that's about it for his personality.

Bio:Raziel was a normal boy living a normal life with a not so normal crazy mother. He did'nt know when she was going to snap. One day the parents got into an argument about who will keep Raziel for they were going to have a divorce. In the argument, she went overboard and stabbed Raziel's father in the throat. Raziel found out, took his baby sister, and ran. Raziel ran and ran and ran until finally he saw the L'Etoile de Mort setting sail.He rushed towards it and stealthily got on. He saw Josephine and was lovestruck, he was let on as a sailor on the L'Etoile de Mort.

Weapon: Thomas uses a rapier that has been sharpened to a diamond sharp point, only other noticable weapon is his extremely sharp wit
Appearance: Thomas wears black trousers and shin high black boots. He wears a white top, over which is a black waistcoat and over that is a black long sleeved coat. All of his clothes are embroided with thick blue stitching and many linings, pockets and flaps are also deep rich blue. he wears a blue tricorne with the feather of a red parrot placed fashionable on top. he has a handsome face that he keeps well shaven for the ladies. He has a shock of midnight black hair that only just manages to stay trpped under his hat.
Personality: Thomas likes to think of himself as a ladies man. He is loud and loving, trying to make everyone around him laugh, (trying too hard most of the time) He is bored easily and doesn't mind upsetting others to break his boredom. He is overly arrogant due to his skill with his rapier but it is not as good as he would like due to his lack of experience due to age.

Bio: Thomas was born to a wealthy english family who moved to tortuga(sp) to keep watch over some rich land. He ran away when he was 12 and started his life as a natural con-man. with his charming cute early teen looks he wooed rich old ladies, and as he grew up he switched to women of his own age. All this time he was alone and passed time playing cards or fighting in taverns.
Just as the story begins he was caught up in a fight in a tavern down the harbor from the one with james and josephine.
He lost his fight in true Thomas Fonte fashion and was placed in a small rowing boat and kicked out to sea, as a simple and life threatening joke, thats all.
Now as James goes to talk with josephine Thomas' small ship bumps into the cerdiwens curse.
