The Arena
Yup it's another one of my RPs and it's obviously approved...However, this time I won't be very strict on who joins. Plus it won't be very hard to RP in this one or create characters since it is so open ended. I hope you enjoy this RP as much as I had fun creating it...dive into THE ARENA!
History of RP
The year is 2121. The world has been oddly peaceful for 10 years now or just about. The countries still live in complete distrust and every country’s ability to annihilate every other country in an instant has led the way to a weird kind of peace. War is peace. As weaponry reached its peak humans finally realized that these same weapons are worthless when faced with their exact opposite, so peace rules this world. For now.
Now that countries are unable to show their superiority on the battlefield international competitions have grown to represent everything that cannot be demonstrated by arms anymore, power and strength. Countries put their honor and strength on the line in every international competition of every kind. Every sport, every chance. Athletes are regarded as war heroes of old and every victory brings in fame forever but the opposite is also true, every failure is catastrophic for both the country and the athlete. Many athletes were murdered violently due to failure.
Peace is in itself an irony. When countries are shaken by war peace seems to rule at home. When there is peace abroad people seem to fight amongst themselves…funny isn’t it?
A new sport has shaken every country in the world and is starting to represent the peak of a country’s strength. This new sport is officially called the VDM (virtual death match) but it was quickly renamed by the general populace, it’s is called The Arena. A virtual arena is created for the sake of virtual fights. Fighters are incorporated into the virtual arena by the basis of pods called virtual sleepers. These pods send information directly to your brain which gives the sensation that everything is real. The pods then capture your own response which causes your character in the game to react accordingly. Different degrees of the game exist. Degree 1 is basically the easiest and most common degree for most people. All pain felt in the game is processed and not sent to the brain to make sure the user feels no pain from the game. Degree 2 is used for most competitions. Users will feel most minor pains like cuts, scraps and hits. Not only do users feel cramped after hits even after they exit the pods but during the fight the punches to the face feel very real however, cut off limbs feel like hard punches etc.
Degree 3 is used in international competitions and represents the legal limit for the game. Every pain is calculated and transmitted directly to the user. A cut off limb feels like a cut off limb. However if the pod feels you are about to die you are knocked out unconscious before this happens to save your life. Any instant death situations like having your head cut off is blocked and knocks you out. Degree 3 is ONLY used in international competitions where medical staff is omnipresent.
Degree 4 is the last degree possible and is illegal everywhere. This was created in the underground and is basically the Arena but without any restraints. ANYTHING that happens in the game is sent directly back to the body. Death in the game represents death in real life. In real life usually it results from nervous shock from too much pain because obviously your head isn’t really cut off in real life but your brain interprets it as such. They say the mind is the body and it’s very true when regarding the Arena.
It is about time for the 4th annual VDM international tournament. As a result a rich investor named Alonso Pietra has decided to host his own invitational tournament a few months prior not only to discover new talents but to be put honestly as a very obvious publicity stunt. Fighters from across the globe in what is to be the biggest VDM tournament since the international tournament. On the line: 1 million dollars and a seat in this year’s international tournament. Also as a special permission by the VDMF (virtual death match federation) Alonso was given official permission to host his tournament in a 3rd degree environment.
For months now millions of candidates have sent their application to attempt to get one of the very scarce seats in this prestigious tournament but very few will actually make it. The criteria aren’t simply strength. Anybody can make it, Alonso more then anything wants a good show and made sure that conflicting personalities and interesting battles would take place. This is after all more for the show then anything else.
Mechanics of the RP
Okay…this RP is going to be VERY different from ANY other RP I’ve seen on this site. I tend to like and try new things on this site. Monotony bores meJ. It will also be very different then my recent attempts at RPs because I will be EXTREMELY lenient in who joins. Pretty much anybody no matter how good their rping is will be able to join. What’s the catch you ask? There’s none, I swear *wink*. Okay I lied, everybody will be able to join no matter the level of RP however, like I said things are going to be different in here so leave your old RPing at the door and dive right into this new adventure.
RANK SYSTEM:
Yes you read right, there’s going to a ranking system and you also probably guessed right, it’s going to be based off rping skills. HUZAH! Upon sign-up everybody will be given a rank from 1 to 7 by me. Anybody that has a problem with their given ranking because I am but a lowly human will have every right possible to PM me with their reasons why they think they were judged unfairly. Obviously the pickle in that system was judging me because I do plan on participating in this. Well as arrogant as this sounds I’m giving myself the rank of 7. That’s what I get for starting the damn thing but if anybody believes I don’t deserve that rank then please argue I will be more then pleased to review your complaints.
The rank system represents how high a character is ranked at the world level in the VDM league. However, I would not instate a rank system and not let you better your situation. This said, the leveling up system. It works with somewhat of an experience system like all RPGs but slightly different in that it’s constant. When you defeat an opponent (human controlled, NPCs don’t count for now, I’ll explain NPCs in a later section) you gain “experience” equal to that players rank. When you reach your own rank in experience you rank up and carry over the experience you won that was extra. For example if I’m a rank 7 character and I defeat 3 consecutive rank 3 characters I will rank up to rank 8 and will have already 2 “experience.” I don’t like calling it experience hence the quotation marks :P.
Ranks will also be used to punish or reward. For example if I give somebody a high rank and they end up RPing really badly for a while then I might rank them down. Usually this does not happen but it has happened that people made insane sign-ups that didn’t match their RPing. Everyone has off days but don’t make them too often. The same goes for if I ranked you too low and you end up being a lot better. Also if you don’t obey rules after a few warnings I might rank you down before suspending you and/or banning you.
Now, what do ranks really precisely do? That’s hard to say really…ranks in RP leave things so vague but basically a higher ranked character in theory is supposed to be stronger. This usually ends up happening unconsciously in RPs already where better RPers usually end up fairing better then worst RPers. The difference is that better RPers now will have advantages in their powers and character creation. How to incorporate ranks in your character creation will be explained later on in the sample character.
Last thing concerning ranks. I have RPed with a lot of people in my time on here. I will obviously use these past experiences as a starting point. Just to situate yourself on how highly I consider a rank 6 or 7 Rper, besides myself I know of only 2 other rank 7 RPers on AF currently (that I have RPed with). One of which has stopped RPing for the time being. I know 3 rank 6 RPers once again one of which has stopped RPing. I’m not going to say who these people are nor will I say you can’t change my view of you if I have already RPed with you but it was just to put things in perspective so don’t expect many high ranks (6 or 7) at first but that doesn’t mean you can’t rank up.
LIMIT SYSTEM:
WOW RANKS AND SOMETHING ELSE!!! You’re crazy inc0gnit0, you must be. Well of course I am and this is why I’m implementing a second way of calculating what you can do in RP, aren’t I just nuts in the head? Here’s the deal. Limit is going to be a percentage value that every character is going to have. Every characters limit will represent something different but in the end it means the same thing. At 0% you can’t use your character’s specialties and at 100% he can cast the most devastating of his techniques. It will also give a quite accurate gauge of how powerful certain techniques really are. For example the limit percentage for my character will represent the percentage of moisture in the air. However, it can easily represent a million things like mana, stamina, ki, chi, energy particles available, etc. Because this is a percentage everyone will basically have the same limit amount however stronger ranked characters will have either stronger attacks that drain the limit faster then normal or will be able to cast more then lower ranked characters. Limit will obviously replenish itself however, that will depend on what your limit represents. For some people a change in scenery will replenish their limit practically fully as for other refilling their limit will take time. If you need help on how to structure your limit regeneration feel free to contact me. Actually feel free to contact me for any questions on anything.
DEATHS:
Okay it’s a known fact. After we put a lot of effort and time into a character we hate to see him/her die. People would do anything not to have their characters killed and I’ve seen very few characters killed off in RP which I’ve always found regrettable. It’s unrealistic in the worlds we create that characters don’t die except for obviously lowly enemy soldiers. However, in here this issue is lessened. Basically if your character dies in The Arena not only are you not REALLY dead but you will get to play that character again. If you die in the Arena of the invitational tournament where we will all begin then you will be kicked out of the tournament and won’t be able to win the prize but your real (the human controlling the character) will still be free to RP outside of the arena with NPCs and any other characters that will die. Not only that but in this world you can go around and fight other people with your character to rank him up. Now I will instate limits as to how much you can level up through NPCs because it would be very easy to constantly level up by constantly posting close fights between you and NPCs of the same rank as you but I’ll post those limits and extra information concerning that after someone actually dies if it ever happens.
DIPLOMACY:
In the Arena it’s a free-for-all. Only one wins the prize and you have to be the last one standing. However, I have never seen any RP and I don’t think it would be successful anyway where characters have spent the whole RP on their own. Therefore alliances even if temporary will be made and I suggest you do so. For example lower ranked characters will have a way better time dealing with a higher ranked character if they join up and then deal with each other later. I really suggest teaming up. Diplomacy will be as important in this game as actual brute strength. When to back-stab and ally but most importantly with who will be very important. However, as a result of the cut-throat nature of the game don’t expect very long friendships. Just a warning.
POST STRUCTURE:
Concerning the nature of this RP chances are things might get a bit confusing so to keep things organized EVERY post will need the following information: Name of character, current limit percentage left, rank and location then at the very end of your post your remaining limit percentage left. Most of these are pretty straight forward. As for location it can be pretty vague but there will be a basic map with different areas so if you can’t be more precise just say what section you’re in. Also if you have multiple characters (which I will be accepting for like one of the first time) they must be color coded and the information must be present for both characters.
This should be pretty much it for the intricacies in this RP. The rest is pretty much classic Rping protocols that will involve a lot of fighting. Therefore a special warning to avoid God modding and lucy lueing. God moding is any action in which you control your opponent’s character for any reason. Lucy lueing is when you act as an invincible untouchable where nothing hits you and you either dodge everything or are unaffected by everything. In a battle prone RP it is important to respect those two fundamentals and sanctions will be implemented if you are caught (and you will lol).
Sample Character Sheet
Like I said previously there will be a post and then a modification after you receive your rank. I will show a sample of a before and an after.

Future ranks tree: (based off your expected rank write what you plan to be the power-up for the next 3-5 ranks. Know that every time you are at 1 level of passing your future power-ups you will be asked to post your next 3-5 power-ups in the sign-up thread).
Other: (anything else you would like to mention)
AFTER
Not a big difference now that I think about it. All you have to remove is expected rank and replace it by rank based off what rank I gave you. And if the rank is not the same as the one you gave yourself then you will need to do the appropriate modifications to your rank tree and maybe your future rank tree depending if I gave you higher or lower. You may also modify your character extensively if I give you a rank that makes your character not what you wanted him to be. Basically there will be two approvals. Only after you get both approvals can you RP in the RPG thread. After the first one you will be given a rank. Then you will repost your character based off this official rank and I will approve it again. If you have problems with the rank I gave you, you better tell me before you re-apply your character. After that it’s too late.
Sample Character (mine):
This is my character after being modified. If you need additional info concerning the first sign-up PM me.
The Human controller:
Name: Derek Trudeau
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Nationality: Canada, Quebec
Personality:
Cold. This is the one word that best describes Derek now. He is a cold calculating individual whose only purpose in life seems to become the best at what he does. Derek is a solitaire, Derek finds that too often others fall low of his expectations and he rather do things himself. He believes that if he tries hard enough he can succeed in anything he puts his mind to. To him this resolve, this determination is all he has left. His strength now lies in his mind since his body was crippled. Since his tragic accident Derek was never the same. He used to be so chearful and now he became so cold. Looking at the world with a very cynical view.
History:
Derek was once the hope of an entire people. At 18 years of age Derek was already considered the best hockey player of all time. For many years Quebec slowly fell. Once the proud carrier of many hockey names Quebec slowly lost its seat as one of the best hockey places in the world. Then Derek changed that. Entering the NHL at 18 and breaking all the rookie records Derek was already set for what people could only see as an epic journey of record breaking and success. Derek had always lived for hockey, he breathed the sport. Nothing else really mattered to him and besides his intensive training sessions, his games outside every night and his professional career Derek thought of little more.
Then the summer between his first and second year in the NHL Derek’s life changed forever. While en route to a daily training session which his parents had decided to come along it happened. The roads were icy in northern Quebec and a treacherous wind pushed the small family van off the road and down into the Saint-Laurence river. The water was icy cold. On contact Derek was propelled out of the van by the broken window to his side. Having hit his head pretty hard Derek fell into unconcious to wake up many days later. When he woke up it was obvious that his life would change forever.
His father, mother and sister had perished in the crash having been stuck in the van for way too long to be saved. His right arm and one of his legs had had to be cut because it had frozen over. His hockey career was over, his family was dead. Luckily for Derek even at this young age he was more then wealthy enough to take care of himself without work for the rest of his life, but his life was empty and void of meaning. His whole life he had known 2 things. His family who had supported him throughout his career and hockey and now he wouldn’t be able to see or do either. Since that day Derek’s blue eyed gaze was never the same, it became cold, cold as the ice that had frozen his limbs.
Not being able to compete in the sport of his dreams Derek found something else where he could exercise his talents. The Arena was a way for Derek to show off his skills even though his actual body prevented him from doing many physical prowesses. Void of anythign else Derek concentrated his entire being into this new goal and quickly became very good. Beating everyone in the small city he had moved to alone. Then moving from city to city to beat the best everywhere. He quickly made a name for himself in Quebec however, Quebec wasn’t known for its strong Arena fighters and Derek wanted to test his limits. That’s when he was contacted to participate in an important invitational tournament with theprize being to participate in the worlds. Derek quickly grasped this chance.
Appearance:
His hair is short and brown and his eyes are of a cold blue. Derek is quite short measuring 5”6 but his body used to be extremely powerful after a life of training for the NHL. However since his leg and arm were cut off he stopped training and his body is slowly losing its power but since the accident happened not too long ago he is still quite capable of beating most people in arm wrestling. Derek always goes around in a plain white t-shirt and military camo pants (the blue and white kind for winter camouflage). Derek usually stays where its cold and wears his black coat that has many pockets and a good. He also practically always has his gloves and black boots. He obviously has fake limbs to replace his arm and leg and Derek goes around with a cane as a result.
The character in The Arena:
Name: Derek Coldheart
Rank: 7
Age: 19
Personality: no real difference, slightly more arrogant in the arena though because he can actually back himself up with his power. In real life he had to get used to the cripple treatment.
Appearance: The main difference is that he always has his ski goggles with fur on his forehead and has clip on skates and his sword attached to his belt.
Weapons: Aisu soshaku is japanese for ice bite. It’s the source of Derek’s power. The sword lets him manipulate the water particles and decrease their temperature which is the source of his power. Like ice Derek can move Aisu soshaku telekenetically to bring it back to his hand or just to swing around while he does other things. The sword is a long katana practically the same height as Derek. The sheath is teal and dark purple in color with a bright saphire at its extremity. 2 long and blue coton ropes fall from the sheath as a decoration or they can be used to spin Aisu Soshaku if need be. The blade seems to be constantly frozen with a coat of ice covering the flat of the blade. Aisu Soshaku’s sheath is quite simple but strong and can be used to block swords. The sheath is attached at Derek’s side on his belt.
Other Equipment: Derek always has a pair of sky goggles on his forhead surrounded by fur to protect his eyes when he starts creatign blizzards. Attached to the back of his belt he has also a pair of clip on skates so that he can skate around when he creates his ice age.
Limit: the limit represents the percentage of water remaining in Derek’s environment. The more there is, more his attacks are powerful and more he can cast. His ultimate attacks usually strip the environment dry and leave him defenceless afterwards. In places clsoe to large bodies of water and/or waterfalls Derek is truly dangerous because he can practically go all out without any restrictions.
Magic: Derek can manipulate the water present in the atmosphere and in the soil and freeze them to create devastating attacks involving ice. Derek’s manipulation of ice is extreme, complexe and very unpredictable.
Rank tree:
1. Ability to isolate then decrease the temperature of water present in the atmosphere and soil to create ice in small quantity.
2. Ability to isolate and decrease the temperature of water present in the atmosphere and soil at a distance and keep them at a decreased temperature for a quick future freeze.
3. Ability to move any ice larger then a marble and smaller then a large desk telekenetically.
4. Ability to sense and manipulate water particles to move them around as you see fit.
5. Ability to send Aisu soshaku underground to abuse the moisture present underground.
6. Ability to shatter any ice into as many small sharp shards as possible (slightly bigger then marbles in size).
7. mastered Buro-kun yaiba buriza-do and Amatsu Aisu Ryu (only in extremely water heavy places).
Future ranks tree:
8. ability to combine oxygen and hydrogen in the air to form water particles and mastery of Hateshiganai Aisu kangoku
9. Ability to modify cold fronts and mix them with already present hot fronts to create sudden storms.
10. Can send Aisu Soshaku much deeper into the ground to access underground bodies of water at over 300 feet of depth and create geysers that Derek can access to strengthen his attacks or use to attack from the underground.
Other:
Japanese translations Derek learnt to describe his attacks
Aisu soshaku (ice bite) = sword
Buro-kun yaiba buriza-do (shattered blade blizzard)
Amatsu Aisu Ryu (imperial ice dragon)
Botsu (rise)
Hateshiganai Aisu kangoku (eternal ice prison)
Aisu Nendai (ice age)
RP sample :
[COLOR=#ffff00]RP sample : (this RP sample is long even by my standards. All my posts will not be like this. It’s just that I thought it would be easier to portray Derek’s powers, personality, etc. in a post like this then put every insignificant detail in his sign-up sheet)
Cold. Do I feel cold? Such a stupid question. Does snow feel cold? Of course not. I am constantly frozen yet at the same time I will never feel cold again. My heart, my soul, my body is constantly gripped by a dark cold that will never go away, a cold only near-death experiences can give. A cold caused by almost freezing to death. Nothing will ever feel cold anymore, everything is warmer then my body now, I am frozen solid and will remain such for the rest of my life. My name is Derek, Derek Coldheart and my life wasn’t always this way…
« Is that all you got weakling? » Derek had a smirk on as he watched his opponent struggle with his simple attacks. He had attacked him with ice projectiles from different angles and had already managed to cut his right arm quite severely. « If that’s everything then how do you expect to beat me? »
« Shutup! I’ll show you! » The kid who looked about 16 rammed his hands into the ground. A huge shockwave followed as a huge snake of rock errupted from the ground behind him. Derek smirked as he put his goggles over his eyes. The battlefield was a small rocky plain with cliffs all around. There was unfortunately no exterior source of water so Derek would have to finish this in one false swoop. « You ready Derek? Ready for my ultimate attack? »
Derek’s smirk didn’t disapear, he hadn’t even unsheathed Aisu Soshaku yet and this kid was already talking trash to him. Also he didn’t really like the fact that this kid, this worthless fighter was addressing him by his name as if they knew each other. I’ll have to crush him to a pulp for that thought Derek. “Charge!” The kid seemed very confidant as the huge snake of rock rushed towards Derek in the intent of finishing the job. “pfft…” Derek unsheathed Aisu Soshaku and threw it in the air before slapping his palms together. The sword slowly lowered into the ground at his feet before disappearing into the soil as though it were water. Derek then dived quickly sideways to avoid getting torn to pieces. However, the kid didn’t seem impressed as he quickly directed the snake back at him. Once again the snake missed and bit a bite full of dirt instead. Derek turned to face the kid, his smirk still illuminating his otherwise cold face.
“Feel my Aisu Nendai (ice age) kid!”
“You’re what?”
“MY ICE AGE!” Then Derek placed his palm on the ground and out of nowhere the ground froze over. About a foot of ice covered the whole battlefield. The kid’s snake of rock became stuck in the ice and even the kid’s feet seemed stuck in the ice that had surged out of nowhere. A little chuckle escaped from Derek as he slowly stood back up. The kid had at least managed to get his feet free but his snake of rock was stuck there for a while. “You’re a fool Derek you lost your sword! You’re defenseless!” He then charged at Derek with a smile on his face as if he had finally found a way of defeating him. Novices…The kids expression was priceless when Derek blocked his sword with a sword made completely of ice that had surged form the ground next to him. “What kind of fighter would I be if I left myself that defenseless…be gone…” Derek then hit the kid on the sternum with his palm which sent him coughing backwards.
Derek then planted the sword back into the ice and then yelled: “Botsu! Or for you… RISE!!! Feel the calm before the storm, feel the sinking feeling of defeat!” hundreds of Aisu Soshaku replicas made of ice were formed all over the battlefield. Derek picked up two of them and charged at the kid. He barely managed to block the assault before the swords made of ice broke in two and Derek was forced to replace them by two more. The kid finally managed to jump back and regroup after Derek had stabbed him in the side. The kid’s hot blood fell on the cold ice covering everything around them. “It’s time…” Derek threw the swords he was holding to the ground then clapped his hands together. “Buro-kun yaiba buriza-do…” All the sword replicas immediately shattered into thousands of little fragments all around the battlefield.
The kid finally realizing the predicament he was in erected a dome of solid soil around him managing barely to reach the soil through the ice right as Derek ordered all those tiny shards to close in on their foe. The barrier saved his life but many shards found their way through and cut the kid at various areas. The shock also broke down the barrier but the kid was still standing. Bleeding hard and panting but standing. Derek smirked. “You’re still standing…congratulations!” The kid smirked. “Is that all you got?”
Derek laughed. “Actually no!” Derek then closed his fists hard and all the ice covering the battlefield shattered into tiny shard shards that once again covered the whole battlefield. The kid’s exclamation of surprise was lost in the loud rush of this man made blizzard coming to kill their foe. Once again the kid erected a barrier but it broke pretty quickly and he was slashed to pieces. When the dust settled Derek was surprised to see the kid once again standing. His whole body was covered in blood and Derek wasn’t sure he could actually move but he was standing. Stubborn… “look kid just give up…”
The kid managed to struggle a smirk on his face that was otherwise contorted in pain. “Why would I do that? You’ve got nothing left. I figured out how your attacks work. You freeze the water present in the atmosphere however; you can’t actually create water or turn your ice back into water. I also noticed that once the shards break too small you can’t control them anymore. You froze all of the water at your disposition for this final attack. You’ve got nothing left.”
“You are completely right that’s how my attacks work however, you made one slight miscalculation. Aisu Soshaku which is currently underground had been at work while you tried to survive my deadly blizzard. The whole time it’s been underground it’s been moving water particles above ground and decreasing their temperature. Where are those water particles you ask? Let’s find out now shall we! Botsu Aisu Soshaku!” Aisu Soshaku then dived right out of the ground into Derek’s hand as a path of ice formed between Derek and the kid. The kid’s legs were also caught in ice. “I didn’t even use my skates…too bad…” Derek then ran along the path of ice and jumped high his sword over his head ready to slash the kid in half. However, right before his hit actually came all the ice around him, the path and the one surrounding the kids legs shattered into a cloud of ice. The kid surprised didn’t manage to block Derek’s attack and was cut in half. As the shards of ice settled Derek looked back at the bloody mess. “Game-over kid.”
The simulation ended and Derek found himself once again lying down with a plastic helmet covering his face. Derek was forced into a sitting position by the folding of the bed/chair. The plastic helmet rose off his head and Derek took a few seconds to get used to the light and noise surrounding him. The large screen he was now facing had the huge golden letters “VICTORY” on it and a picture of the character he had just used. Derek pushed himself on his feet grabbing his cane to support his fake leg. The kid he had just defeated looked just like the guy that was now standing in front of him with his hand held out. Derek looked at the hand and pushed it away as he wobbled away. Derek ignored the voices behind him and walked on. He had fought enough today, none of those weaklings were ever a match for him. He needed to find someone stronger…her needed to feel the cold sting of a blade finally managing to make it to his body.
His bed felt dry and useless. He knew he wouldn’t get any sleep tonight either. For the past few months he’s been forced to take pills to sleep but this chemical rest wasn’t what Derek called sleep, it was rest that his body required but it wasn’t sleep. Derek swallowed the two small pills and lied down on his bed as the pills took effect and he fell into the dark abyss of his nightmares.
It’s cold…all I can feel is cold. I can’t breath it’s as if the cold has already frozen my lungs and they have ceased to function. I know this is stupid and it’s just that the water surrounding me is preventing me from breathing but it’s all I can think of. It’s dark all around. I’m not sure if I’m right side up or upside down. I can’t make out any direction, any light or any noise. The only sense still working is my sense of touch…my sense of feel…the sense that’s telling me the only thing I can feel is this cold grip. I can’t see Mary…I can’t see dad, I can’t see mom. I don’t even know what happened. One second I was reading the latest edition of Hebdo Hockey and the next second I find myself in this world of cold and darkness. Is this hell? Am I dead? How did it happen? All I can remember is this cold. I know…I will never be warm again…what is this?
That’s always his last thought before he wakes up. He’s had this nightmare practically every night since the accident. He just keeps on reliving that scene over and over again. When he wakes up is when he knows he falls unconscious and he knows that the what’s this is the arm of a cop that saved his life but every night he wonders what that long gloved tentacle-like thing is and only when he wakes up does he remember what it was. It’s a freaky sensation when you wake-up and realize you know more awake then when actually in the nightmare even though the situation is the same. It’s as if I get totally immersed in the situation and am brought back a few months back, as if I am actually reliving the accident. It’s a terrifying thought.
I go on and on. Day after day showing off my superiority in this new discipline of mine. Living off the money of my former life hoping to become once again the best in something. I look at my crippled body and swear at everything it will never be able to accomplish. I swear at my rotten luck and at everything I will never know as a result. I swear for the sake of swearing. My life seems to go on for only one reason and that is to crush weaker fighters. When will this stupid and utterly useless cycle end? I don’t even know why I bother trying to succeed in this now. I know full well that things out of my control can easily rip me of that dream too. But I continue fighting. I continue fighting because it’s all I know now…all my new life is made of and unfortunately my past life is now unreachable. Damned cold.
COLOR]
I feel it should be mentioned. There is a lot of ommited information in this post concerning the RP. These things are ommited by purpose. Important things that are ommited include the actual map of The Arena where the invitational tournament will be held, the nature of monsters that you will encounter in the arena (I don't actually talk about this by my first post in the RP will clarify that) and the planned real life plot. So that people don't get discouraged when they die I feel its important to mention the invitational tournament is simply a prelude to something much bigger. It's only there so everyone can get used to the intricate system of my RP but that is in no way the main plot.
