i just bought the first manga to see if it was a good manga and... yess! it was an amazing book and i just can't wait to get the next book. but i will say that the graphic scenes are a little... graphic. :)

Chobits is an excellent manga. It was one of my favorites(though I'm a guy). I enjoyed it and i must say that Chii is really cute:) !! I wish i had Hideki's dumb luck!!!! Hope you enjoy the rest!!! The anime is also good too!!!!:D

The Chobits anime isn't as good as the manga(like most animes). I'm not spoiling anything, but... the anime stays partially loyal to the manga and all the episodes are mixed up. Some things that happen in book 1 don't happen till disk 4!! The good part is that the anime gives a better introduction to who Hideki is and why he is in Tokyo. Don't get me wrong, I love the anime, but the manga's 5x better!!! Plus, 3/4 of the anime seems to focus on Chi doing cute things and learn. And the anime has less details(starts out slow and speeds toward the finish)and Ends badly. But don't take my word for it!!!! I recommend the anime, not just for the characters but for the awesome music!!!! Hope you enjoy it if you ever buy it and watch it!!!!:D

I love Chobits, it carries a deeper meaning to me that makes it somewhat different from just being another anime with cute girls that invoke lust in men.

I have watched the anime series but I have not read the manga as of yet. But that will change very soon; I ordered the complete manga set today, I hope that it will arrive in time and in good condition.

Actually it's aimed at girls, Newtype USA Issue 3 2003 is the proof. It had an intervew with the staff of Chobits. Here's what someone on another site said: "The sexuality is meant to be realistic but not explicit, and yes, the anime is meant to have more background and depth than the manga did... http://animeboards.com/images/smilies/smile.gif".

I got my Chobits Your Eyes Only Artbook today(a few hours ago it was yesterday!)!!!! I love it! Chii is awesome^^!!!!

And yeah, the anime is good, I hope you like it as much as I did, but still, it dosen't explain as much as the manga did. Reading the manga, you'll feel it's more mysterious and have that mystery feeling, and Chii's alot more mysterious in the manga too. In the anime, 3/4 is pure fun! I just needed Plum(Sumomo in the anime) for comic relief! And in the anime, Chii acts cuter and less mysterious! And the manga answers alot more questions, trust me!:laugh:

I have the whole manga set. Even though Chii is nude at least once in each book, I have to say that -for the most part- the situations Hideki and Chii got into were hilarious. The point of all the smut they had in there was mostly to form Hideki's -virgin- character. Poor guy.

And obviously, since the manga was aimed at men, CLAMP had to make it as detailed as possible. Just in case -some of them- weren't interested in the plot.

I don't want to spoil anything, but the ending in the manga is not what you'd expect if you have read volumes 1-5. Volumes 6-8 takes on a different atmosphere. And the ending in the anime is totally different from the manga. Plus, the anime came out at the same time the manga was still being drawn, and ended before the manga's completion, that's why the endings are so different.

You know, the American Dub for Chobits which is Crispin Freeman(Hideki Motosuwa), sounds nothing like his Japanese counterpart Tomokazu Sugita(Hideki Motosuwa)! But...Rie Tanaka(Japanese seiyu for Chii) sounds almost exactly the same as Michelle Ruff(American voice for Chii)! The other voice actors sound completely different from each other!

the english version of chobits is the best english dub of anything i've seen, maybe its because i watched it before the jap one, but i still think the voices are pretty good.

Chii is sooo cute!! My friend always say that if chii didn't have those ears, she would have been cuter. I guess I agree a bit there but that's where her charm is.
The voice acting of the japanese version sure is great!! Tomokazu Sugita for Hideki and Rie Tanaka for Chii, they did a great job. I haven't watched the english dub though.

I found it particularly funny when Hideki comes home and rolls all over the floor, crying because of what happened. That was plain hilarious, and when Chii calls him, "Hentai, Hideki Hentai!" That means, "pervert" I think. She just repeats it, and it was just plain cute. That whole episode is an anime classic!

I just watched the first episode of Chobits. This is really good. Pretty funny.

I can't believe crispen freeman voices Hideki. I already decided he was my favorite voice actor after watching hellsing and blood+. After those two really dark and series and badass roles it's really wierd hearing him as Hideki. He's pretty dynamic.

Yah, the manga and anime just flipped 180 degrees. In volume 4 in the manga and then episode 14 in the anime, after the beach episode I think. It's such a funny and sad series! I just wish that they had come out with a sequel to both the anime and manga!:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: *sigh* Maybe one day. Maybe one day.

It truly is impossible to hate Chii. She is cute and innocent at the beginning, but if you look REAAAALLY closely at her actions later in the series PSYCHOLOGICALLY, she becomes a very caring, strong person.

Oh yes, I've been wanting to say this for a while: CLAMP has a habit of intermingling their works (Chobits <-> Angelic Layer, Tsubasa Chronicles <-> Everything else) and I noticed that they are always still canon. If you watch just the first two eps of Tsubasa Chronicles (maybe 4? idk) you not only see Chii for 15 seconds as another person (not a robot), but it is later stated that all the people who seem similar from different worlds all originate from the same soul. Doesn't that infer that Chii has a soul? She might be more "human" than thought before.
