Naruto: The Latter Days

Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha had been blood rivals for a long time. These two brothers, the last surviving members of the clan charged with the protection of the Sharingan, had ended their feud after the fall of Orochimaru, who had been manipulating Itachi. When Itachi was only a child, Orochimaru had promised him limitless power as long as he would allow Orochimaru to manipulate his mind. Being the greedy fool he was, Itachi accepted the offer. A few days later, after filling him with false chakra, he used Itachi to destroy the entire Uchiha clan and virtually wipe out the Sharingan itself. Itachi was able to keep himself from destroying his little brother, Sasuke Uchiha, but just barely. Orochimaru soon gained complete control of Itachi’s mind and was able to suppress all emotion except hatred within him.

Sakura Haruno, after her squad disbanded and went their separate ways, decided to stay in the Hidden Leaf Village alongside her friend Hinata Hyuga. The whole village lived in peace for a long time until Orochimaru launched another attack against the village. The Fifth Hokage, Lady Tsunade, fought Orochimaru to the best of her ability alongside her advisor Lord Jiraiya the Toad Sage. In the end, Tsunade was able to defeat Orochimaru, but only at the cost of her own life. Since she had not appointed the Sixth Hokage, Lord Jiraiya, who was mentally unstable at the time, took the temporary position of Village Leader. His first act of business was to sell all the young girls of the village into slavery in order to raise more funds for training ground improvements. However, Sakura and Hinata felt something else was going on. The two decided to ask the leader if they could be his first slaves, and when the time was right, they looked through his scrolls. What they found would ruin their lives forever.
