Cruor on the Danube
"Danube so blue, so bright and blue, through vale and field you flow so calm,
our Vienna greets you, you silver stream through all the lands you merry the heart
with your beautiful shores.

Far from the Black Forest you hurry to the sea giving your blessing to everything.
Eastward you flow, welcoming your brothers,
A picture of peace for all time!

Old castles looking down from high,
greet you smiling from their steep and craggy hilltops,
and the mountains' vistas mirror in your dancing waves."

What beauty lies there now? Danube so blue is now a crimson stream, the lethargic flow is now an unrelenting dangerous current which will threaten to engulf you in a watery grave.
Tranquility? A word that'll never be used again to describe the Danube.
Now an image of carnage for eternity, the old castles now wistfully regarding you as a once great figment of the past of which is now tainted. Your opaque colour impeding their reflections.
Dismal.

Cruor on the Danube is set in the Carpathian region in Europe set back in the 1700s. Over the past few centuries, vampiric entities and homosapiens alike have coincided into a mutal relationship, as years went by they lived harmoniously amongst one another. Until one day a malignant deity arises and kills seven each of the two races, which resulted in a hostilic fray among the nations.

A handful of vampires and humans have paired with one another to investigate on this sudden turn of events and the massacre. As the onslaught continues the two races separated and now live on either side of the Danube River.

Since the vampires have abstained from drinking blood in order to sacrifice their special abilities as to not frighten the humans while they were still in a truce, they are at the moment in a weakened condition but now that there is a war many have resorted back to the traditional customs. Albeit they have supernatural powers (with limitations) they are not without weaknesses, such as sunlight, silver and bloodloss.

The humans have very low technologic weaponry, only simplistic guns with silver bullets, swords, scythes, bows and arrows et cetera. Each manufactured with silver to ensure further protection and better opposition. Now it's up to both races to realize that neither of them attacked one another and that it was the bizarre creature residing in the now murky Danube river (which was once immaculate and tranquil) that assasinated their kin.

Vampire prowess:

Longevity: All vampires are graced with a life-span far longer than any human. As enfants the rate of aging compared to humans is fairly equivalent but once past adolescence the process of aging is much slower and are able to mantain their physical peaks for centuries.

Shape-shifting: The ability to change one's original form to that of another person or animal.

Element manipulation: The ability to harness and manipulate a single element. ( Earth, fire, water, lightning and air. ) Use of this ability is limited for it takes up a tremendous amount of energy.

[ *Note*: Vampires cannot heal instantly. ]

She currently resides with her brother on the vampire side of the Danube river. Alae is agaisnt the hostilities of the ongoing war and suspects an ominous being is behind the entire battle.

Flah's characters:
Name: Corinne d'Allemagne
Age: 250 ( Appears as 16 )
Gender: Female
Race: Vampire
Weapon: N/A
Abilities: Longevity and shape-shifting.
Appearance: Corinne has a short auricomous bob of hair normally don with a white ribbon in the back and usually sports an equally snow white summer dress. Her complexion a livid hue along with abnormal vermillion coloured optics due to blindness.
Personality: Tenacious, audacious and with a dangerous temper, Corinne appears to be a veil of innocence but in her persistence she is capable of driving anyone insane, most especially her elder brother. Regardless of her disability of sight, Corinne's other senses are extremely acute which enable her to go about on her own accords.
Background/brief history: D'Allemagne has been one of the longest standing clans in the Carpathian region. However only three are still living with Corinne's elder brother the scion and Corinne second in line. Corinne was raised by her brother after the bereavement of their parents during the First War of humans versus vampires. She was not born as a blind but during the First War the same humans that attacked her parents set Corinne's cradle aflame. Her brother managed to rescue her but not reverse the affects of the flames which resulted in her disability.

Name: Marius d'Allemagne

Personality: Marius is a law unto himself, as scion of d'Allemagne he wields great power not many dare to challenge his abilities. At times he can be overly domineering, essentially toward his younger sister Corinne. His omnipresent concern for his sister's well-being only encourages his act of apathy and utter dictorial manner.
Background/brief history: Marius received his duties as scion of d'Allemagne at a young age during the First War. After witnessing his parent's and other relative's dying bodies thrown into a conflaguration of carnage he had become emotionless toward everyone other than his kin, his hatred for humans is paramount. Frequently he finds himself in consecutive stress on account of his sister's audacity and sincerity toward the humans even after learning that it was them which left her in a state of blindness.

Any questions? PM me, I won't bite like Marius. Also, please do not use any futuristic equipment, this is the 18th century.

Name: Fredrick Hohenstaufen IV

Age: 17

Gender:Male

Race: Human

Weapon: Longsword (Steel)

Appearance: His eyes a deep brown and gaze out, large and imperious, from a measure face. He wears his hair of middle length, just dancing in front of his eyes in gentle wisps. A vague look often inhabits his eyes, stretching backwards, and sideways but seldom forward, obviously marking him the victim of an occupied mind. Dust hangs on his cloths as, like most of travelers, he is loathe to bath and cleans himself only seldom, perferring a brief shake when he gets up in the morning from some leafy bed to washing himself in a river. He wears the clothes of a pilgrim, a wander though his expression hardly ever waxes devout.

Personality: A sharp tongue and a scathing wit mark him more the descendant of Fredrick II than his of his more famous forefather, Fredrick I, aka "Barbarossa". Like his more royal relation, he bears a large amount of cynicism and scepticism towards religion and God but also shows the pragmatism to make use of holy water when he knows it works. Very much the medieval man, he is in many ways an anachronism.

He constantly feels an ache for the nobility his family once possessed but seems content with his apostolic wanderings. Seldom affected by the emotions of others, he can at times seem cold and will easily refuse to give charity. Bearing the intellect of the second Fredrick his insight into situations can be startling, especially given his lack of sensibility towards sugar-coating and taboo subjects. Perfectly willing to accuse a preacher of theft if the evidence points him towards it.

Background/brief history: Descend from the formerly-noble-now-barely-above-peasant Hohenstaufen family Fredrick was named after both his great-grandfather and his two more distant, but more famous, ancestors. He grew up in a a small town and was forced to pick up the art of the sword at a young age, more because the family like to use it to prove they were nobles in face of the fact that by any other standard they most certainly were not. However, his first love was books and learning. He learned of his ancestors and took Fredrick II as his role model, studying hard and becoming ever more cynical, sarcastic, and spiteful than even this most infamous of rulers.

Later when the family financial crisis threatened to take away from him his freedom to learn and act on his own volition (and after several choice words in front of company- his using the quote from Fredrick II " There are three men who deceived the world: Jesus, Moses, and Muhammad" at a dinner earned him both the chagrin of his parents and the loathing of everyone else) he ran away from home to start a life as a pilgrim/wanderer. He places little weight in the deaths of the 7 humans and vampires, not caring whether it was racial warfare or someone else, but rather thinking the whole chaos surrounding it a poor joke and worthy only of contempt.

For all his seeming confidence and cynicism he harbors, deep down, an idealism that has been thwarted to often by family and station and a sense of restlessness, as though his fingers and mind were meant for some grand purpose that currently escapes him. Occasionally, he waxes into vulnerable and melancholic moods which invert his personality.

Sample of RP skill:
Fredrick sighed gently into the smoke of the alehouse. What a strange stir this was. Blood was on the air but that did not mean he understood the whys and wherefores. There was hushed talk about the deaths of men and vampires and many spoke, in tones to hushed to hear but to obvious to be anything else, of all the many sins that they thought the could attribute to those of the opposite race. Fredrick sighed again, what a pathetic lot this human race was! If God did exist, which Fredrick, to his discredit, doubted, then surely he had sinned in making man! Such creatures of ignorance!

Not that vampires were better, just not present to show there many failings.

Fredrick stood gently from his stool. Pushing away the food that had been so graciously offered to him for a pittance, his pilgrims clothes, rarely seen in recent years, still caring the wait of safe passage wherever they went. A slip of a girl came by to take his things and flashed him a smile which he dutifully ignored. Such things were for men and vampires. He was a philosopher, a thinker... he had to separate himself from these flesh wrapped sins as best he could.

(OOC: If this bio is long and convoluted remember: You brought it on yourself for having a historical RP bwehehe)

Her eyes wondered over to a decorated flask that sat on a nearby table. She stared at it, trying to resist her urge for it, though it was aparent that it was becomming harder and harder for her to do. Name: Ciaran O'Callum
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Weapon: Basket-Hilt Broadsword. The caged "basket" of the pommel of the sword is made of a bright sterling silver with A dark green velvelt material interior lining. The blade itself is one of a normal strong steel.

Appearance: Stands around 6'0 and is of a sturdy build. His dark brown hued hair unkemptly hangs nearly past his ears and slightly infront of his emerald green eyes, giving the impression of someone either in need of a trim or one who simply doesn't care. A somber, withdrawn, expression and slightly overgrown beard, hide his naturally handsome face.
His attire consists of unassuming brown pants, a rather faded green medieval style cloth shirt that resides under his thigh length and equally faded brown overcoat.

Personality: Once a cheerful and loving character, Ciaran's current personality is a parallel to his appearance. His seems rather withdrawn, distant and disinterested in his life. Though rather melancholy, when he does pull himself together, one can notice his intellect, wisdom and the remnants of what he used to be like.

Background/brief history: Ciaran was once a scholar, doctor and scientist. In actuality, he was one of the greatest young minds in Ireland. Managing to somehow ascend beyond a simple farmer's life and amongst some ridicule attend an English university, he achieved a happy life even at his early age. His eventual marriage to his beloved Alexa, a young English girl he courted while in England, made him even happier and the eventual birth of his two daughters gave him an ideal existence in the world.
However, all that would change, leaving his once ideal life in shambles. Once he concluded his studies, Ciaran and Alexa became strong advocates of Peace between the vampiric and human races. Knowing the peaceful history, the aimed to, against some discontent, restore that understanding between the two races.
All was well, progress was being made and the name O'Callum became a trusted name amongst those who shared the view of peace, both humans and vampire alike.
Then on a rather unassuming day, came the end of the happiness. A small gathering of both vampires and humans opposing one another quickly flared into a large mob and then into a massive outbreak of blood, violence and death.
Needless to say, Ciaran tried to peacefully combat the situation, taking up arms to defend the innocent. During the chaos, houses were set fire and destroyed as the outbreak ensued. Unknown to him, his wife who he'd told to flee with the children to the next town, chose not to abandon her husband. Sadly, his house was seemingly targeted and was quickly set fire, the house collapsing before Alexa could exit with the children.
After armed guards helped stop the violence much later, Ciaran returned home, horrified to find his family had perished in the fire.
Thus, the year or so that followed had been one of grief, depression and alcohol as the once engimatic advocate for peace, became nothing more than a wandering shell of a man.
He now follows whatever path is before him, wherever it may take him as he awaits the day when he will be rid of his now meaniningless life.
Sample of RP skill: "My dear Alexa...my beloved...my dear daughters" Mumbled Ciaran, his head awkwardly resting on a table amongst a assortment of ale tankards. His drunken groans seemingly pestered some of the tavern's patron's to the point of throwing their bread as to wake him up, as he replayed those events, those horrid events in his mind.

actually specify more... are you going with folksloric vampires, i.e. straight from folklore which: can't enter houses without being invited, damaged by crucifixes and holy water, fully undead - i.e. have no pulse and cold skin-, pass on vampirism though biting, can over power those of the opposite sex with eye contact, etc etc

or the pop culture vampires which are pretty much superhumans that have to eat blood and have a few extra weakness...

Name: Anthony Tatwine
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Weapon: Double sided Axe. Heavily battle-scarred and silver lined. (chips and scratches, that sort of thing.)
Appearance: Built heavy and was born heavy, Anthony has been likened to one of the great bears that make the forests their playing ground. In line with his personality, he has the overall look of a wildman. His long dishevelled jet black hair and tattered tunic go to completing this look. Never seen without his enormous axe slung behind his back. From time to time he likes to air out the armor his father left for him after the formers demise from an unfortunate gambling misunderstanding.
Personality: Suffers from a "hero" persona, meaning that he lives on an attack first, ask questions later, desperate last stand principle. First to the fight and last to retreat (In the battlefield and off. Pubs suffer the same fate as well.) his name alone has almost become synonymous to reckless bravery in the places he frequents.
Background/brief history: Anthony was born to a relatively well off family. They weren't peasants but they really weren't much of a nobility either. Raised by a father who terribly blows every single deed his done out of proportion and a mother who never really contradicted anything his father said, Anthony grew up believing that his father was a real hero and this is what compelled him to aspire to do the same. Though sometimes he may be a little rash and insensitive, everything he does is for what he believes is right and just. At the age of thirteen he left his father's house to make his own way into the world, eventually residing in a small cabin he built himself on the outskirts of town.

When he was out in the woods one day, he happened to chance upon a vampire named Lewis Eoric bound to a tree and being tortured and ridiculed by a group of 5 ragged peasants gleefully rejoicing at a successful catch. Not caring that it was a vampire that he was going to save, Anthony rushed in and scattered the group, killing everyone in the process.

After this encounter, both he and Lewis decided to forge an alliance of sorts. A small but symbolic gesture in a troubled society.
Sample of RP skill: "Are you alright?" Anthony asked the pale faced vampire. "How did a vampire even fall prey to such a weak band of individuals?" Slowly, he cut the cords that were cruelly biting into the vampire's skin and, when he fell to the ground in a faint, hoisted him up his back. Glancing around the dead bodies, Anthony felt a small pang of remorse at the needless loss of life. Times sure are getting chaotic, he thought to himself as he started for the trip back to his shack.

Name: Lewis Eoric
Age: 98 (Looks 17)
Gender: Male
Race: Vampire
Abilities: Longevity and shape-shifting
Appearance: The tousled hair and overall laid back appearance his clothing style exudes sometimes leads people to think that he is not a vampire and is just your average boy. What gives the game away is his pale skin and, if you ever get close enough to actually look into them, the way his eyes seem to be able to peer into your very soul and expose the various traits that make you tick.
Personality: One of the more recent additions to the vampire lineage (he is considered a kid in his society) he tends to be slightly less mature than the others of his species. However, he is intelligent enough to best a good number of them in a battle of wits. Unfortunately, he tends to be arrogant because of this.
Background/brief history: Born to one of the more influential vampire families, Lewis had never really experienced much hardship in his life and as a result grew up with the false belief that nothing could hurt him. The fact that he was noticeably more intelligent than a majority of his clan, barring his father and a few of his uncles, did not help. On his 98th year of existence, he decided to cross the river that separated the vampires from the humans. Severely underestimating the intelligence of humans, he was trapped and tortured by a gang of peasants. He would have probably died if the warrior Anthony had not intervened and saved him. Ashamed at how easily he had been captured, Lewis decided not to return to his old home. To repay the debt he owed to Anthony, he decided to stay with him and help him in his affairs. It is a sign of his old arrogance that he sometimes jokingly refers to their partnership as "Myself as the brains and with you as the brawn, nothing can stand up to us."
Sample of RP skill: The embarrassment of this all. To be captured and trapped by a bunch of unruly apes. Pah! What would the clan say of they see me like this?

Lewis berated himself again and again as the humans jeered in front of him. If only they had no religous artifacts, he would have morphed into a wolf and slaughtered them all. As he slowly lost his grip on consciousness, the last thing he saw was what seemed like a bear come barrelling out of the woods.

A little bit of the former and latter. To elaborate more, vampires aren't "superhumans" persay with a few extra weaknesses. Moreso humans that require to drink blood, blessed with long life and have the ability to shape-shift or manipulate elements. They don't have greater physical strength than humans, unless they shape-shift into some form of animal that would normally be stronger than your average human. They can't read minds, they have reflections and pulses et cetera et cetera. They pretty much have the same weaknesses as humans with the addition of silver and sunlight however they have better immunity to illnesses such as colds, flu, fever and the like. Also, those of the opposite sex would be more susceptible to the vampire with eye contact but wouldn't be completely overpowered.

Name: Mercy Kittle
Age: 134 (looks 16)
Gender: Female
Race: Vampire
Abilities: Longevity and shape-shifting
Appearance: About 5'8" she often uses every inch of her stature to initimidate. She has long, black hair and equally dark eyes against her pale skin make her look almost stereotypical, but that's about where her closeness to stereotype ends. She wears light colored dresses that require yards and yards of tape and hoops.
Personality: Mercy is nothing like your normal vampire. Oh sure she drinks blood and possesses power but from her unusual name to her even more unusual behavior Mercy is odd to both socities. She never talks and seems to be more into staring into space than anyting. She rarely uses her power and even more rarely succumbs to bloodlust. Mercy also seems to enjoy intimidating everyone mortal or vampire.
Background/brief history: Mercy laughs in the face of normal. Or so her parents say. It seems very strange that Mercy has such an ordinary vampire family. One would expect them to be as strange as her. Her mother has avery odd impulse to name her child something out of the ordinary, Mercy is what came out. Her childhood was as normal as could be but from the begginin her family noticed the oddness that was her. They desperately tried to get her to drink more saying: "Its more unhealthy than you know" but all their coaxing and threatening seemed to make Mercy more obstinate. Finally Mercy's family gave up on her they let Mercy be Mercy and never tried to explain her behavior to anyone.
Sample of RP skill:
Mecy resisted the impulse to feed, it was strong but she didn't care. "No" She said quietly and truned away from the glass.
Mercy's mother sighed and gave the glass to her father. "Mercy, please, it is unhealthy to deprive yourself of this so much. This blood came in only small amounts it did not hurt the giver"
"Actually, I don't care if it killed the giver. I'm not drinking it for another reason"
"Dear, just drink, when was the last time you fed?"
"I don't remember now" Mercy said staunchly. "But I don't need it" Mercy pushed her mother and walked out the door.

Name: Bledel Froscaut
Age: 130 (appears 16)
Gender: Female
Race: Vampire
Weapon: N/A
Abilities: Longevity and Element Manipulation (Water)
Appearance: Around 5'3 in height, Bledel is often mistaken for a boy because of her personality. Although she has waist-length black straight hair, she hides it under a beret. She normally wears under her crimson overcoat, a white blouse and a black pleated skirt. Under her considerably long eye-lashes are brown eyes that stand out more than any features of her face.

Personality: Bledel is the tough type. She hates being protected at most. She is picky when it comes to blood, therefore, she doesn't drink that much. Although she finds it odd why, that how little or more she drinks blood, this has never affected her energy. As long as she is able to bring blood onto her taste buds, she is okay. Although considered tough, she is very sociable and communicates a lot. She tends to be tactless at times and is not afraid of speaking her mind.

Background/brief history: Bledel is raised under a roof full of nurture. Although thankful of how her parents treat her, she constantly feel there is something that she doesn't know. That they are caring for her too much. She is an only child, and the fact that they are not that well off didn't make it easier. Their family belongs to the middle-class and therefore treated likewise. Her personality grew from playing with mainly boys in the neighborhood. Beyond her boyish actions hides a suspicious and fragile understanding of what is going on with their world. Her parents let her be, for the fear of losing her, they let her do what she wants, provided it is safe and acceptable.

Sample of RP skill:

"Your parents are not that good, do you know that?" she heard someone whisper. She looked around, expecting to see the interpolator who dares bother her serenity. Everyday, she sits at the edge of the alley like this. Serene. What else could she do? She barely understands the chaos laid out in front of her, and now this voice..

"NO!" she shouted at the top of her lungs. Attempting to block off the next sentence the voice might create, she dashed off the direction towards her home. "NO No NO No NO! STOP it! SHUT the hell UP!!"

Running along the deserted alley towards her home, Bledel ruffled her hat finally taking it off. Amidst this chaotic event something trivial like this refuses to leave her thoughts. No..Shut up.., she thought.

and she fainted.

While approval is still up to Flah Blah, I'd advise however, against the cursing. Abbreviated cursing is still considered cursing under the Rpg Rules guidelines.
Using a phrase such as "She cursed under her breath" or "Trying to keep from uttering a regrettable phrase, she simply bit down on her lip" Would still allude to the act of "cursing" without actually doing so.
A "damn" here and there is usually ok, but excessive use is frowned upon.
It's best to be creative in expressing one's anger...this is after all an rpg lol.

Kuchiyose Mizu: I'm going to have to say no, unless you can edit your character to something more suitable. As for your RPG sample, I don't think it was done with enough clarity. To you perhaps it makes perfect sense but not for everyone else. So if you could fix that up as well, everything should be a-okay.

ooc: God I hate that cursing rule. Some situations can't be expressed with a poopey u know. I won't oh toodles my dad got killed but whatever. Also Fionn love the House sig, also a big fan of the Doc. I don't personally like the restrictions imposed on the character creation but I'll do my best, I don't get why vampires can't wield weapons lol. I don't have time to spell check so there might be typos sorry.

IC: Name: Chrenos Tetric
Age: 41
Gender: Male
Race: human
Weapon: A customized sword that has been wielded by Chrenos since his childhood. It had once belonged to his dad but was now his. The sword looks like a katana with a very sturdy hilt to be used in combat. However at the end of the katanas hilt there is a chain that can be attached to both the end of his hilt and to a bracelet on his right hand. The chain is quite long and when it isn't attached anywhere he either uses it by smacking his enemies with it or he rolls it around his arm. The sword who has been mastered by the Tetric family for generations is known as Argentum, the Silver Edge. The blade and chain are all made of part silver and was used during the war between vampires and humans long before his birth.

Appearance: Chrenos is 41 years old and it's starting to show in his appearance. His short spikey in nature hair is covered with gray areas. Silver eyes combined with the now silvery looking hair give him a freaky appearance that always got him much trouble as a child. With eyes the color of the moon people thought he would curse them forever. Chrenos has a long scar that goes from his forehead, over his left eye and down all the way to his chin and a broken nose that suggests a very eventful, battle-prone life. Chrenos is relatively small measuring 5"7 but his body was trained and built-up through a life of battle.

He has often over-powered men twice his size and he is quite proud of his strength. Chrenos never wears any armour, he's the kind of fighter that will use his speed to his advantage and doesn't need anything obstructing him. Usually going around in a dark tunic. Sometimes he can be seen with a cloak and a hood when he sneaks around or if he doesn't want to be recognized. However his sword is so unique it has become signature of his presence and its reveal immediately reveals his identity. The sword is usually by his side on a belt with a quick release mechanism for quick release of the sheath. Chrenos uses his sheath as well when fighting so a quick way to release the sheath was very important.

Personality: Chrenos is very confidant. Whether it be in wit or in strength he believes he is better then anyone until prooven otherwise. Arrogant and stubborn people say he will never admit he is wrong or defeated but that isn't true. He is stubborn in what he believes in and will defend these ideologies very fervently and it takes a true argument to make him rethink what he thinks. Chrenos is not stupid, far from it. Having attended very good school sdue to the influencial nature of his family he has been well educated and has always found a lot of pride in what he knows and likes to read and learn more. As much as he likes to duel with the blade he likes to debate with the mind.

Chrenos is a very logical person. Maybe too logical. His life of diciplined training and learning has led him to have very logical takes on everything. He doesn't believe in religion or emotions believing they are the enemies of logic and reason. Chrenos say all emotions but one can be controlled if you put your mind to it. This uncontrollable emotion according to him is anger, most primal and useful of emotions. Some people crumble under anger, Chrenos channels it. When Chrenos is truly angered he becomes even more dangerous however it has only happened twice in his life that he was truly angered. Otherwise Chrenos isn't easily angered, usually finding a laugh at other peoples expense.

Chrenos is said to have a very sarcastic sense of humor. He hates idiots and weaklings. He believes that everybody should at least be able to defend themselves both in body and mind at least a bit. Failure to do so is a waste of the potential that human beings posess. Chrenos has always hated the vampire race even during times of peace. He never trusted them. Whether it comes form the fact that his family has always fought them or for some other reaosn it matters not. CHrenos can't stand vampires and just can't wait until an all out confrontation allows him to hunt them once again.

Background/brief history: Son of a rich and powerful ex-commander of the british army Chrenos was raised with a silver spoon in his mouth. Educated in the most prestigious schools and trained with the best. CHrenos quickly honed both his body and mind. Becoming very skilled with the sword at a very young age his father decided he would wield Argentum sooner hten anybody in the family. Sent in the guard at the age of 17 under special permission he quickly prooved himself as a competent soldier but mostly smart soldier. At the age of 21 he became an officer and sicne then Chrenos grew in the ranks at an alarming speed.

Chrenos's father died at the respectable age of 73 years old leaving Chrenos alone but not unprepared. His mother having died after giving birth his father had taken very good care of him. Chrenos being the only child inherited of all of his fathers fortune and being in quite a high position at the time himself he was quite well off. The peace with the vampires had always annoyed Chrenos who always distrusted them and made it very open that he didn't like them. He only wanted a war to break out, for the roar of armies to be heard again. But in no way would he personally start a war.

When the first mysterious casualties were found CHrenos knew what it meant but hadn't forseen an event that changed his life forever. Being always so open about his hate for the vampires finally backfired. Aristocrats that were for the longing peace accused him of starting this whole thing. Even though he was no a general under the king's direct orders he was stript of his title and stript of his belongings. Chrenos didn't blame no one really because in the chaos resulting by these casualties people needed to put the blame somewhere and he became a logical scapegoat. However his accusation didn't appease the vampires. Chrenos was forced to fled when soemone tried to assassinate him. He still isn't sure if it was the humans or the vampires that attempted to end his life but it doesn't matter anymore, everyone is his enemy.

Chrenos fled to the countryside where his reputation died and where he could find sanctuary. However they say ones true nature and legcay will always haunt them and Chrenos was no different as he was thrown right back into the struggle with no allies or definite enemies, everyone was his enemies, he couldn't trust anyone. He was a survivor but for how long?

Sample of RP skill: The night was dark and cold. The rain didn't help the chills that were coursing through Chrenos's body but he welcomed the rain none the less. It robbed him of his heat but it erased his footsteps, it erased the chances that he would be caught. He welcomed the rain. He was hiding behind small bushes and was just catching his breath. The road on the otherside of the bush was the road that connected the farms with the city of main city. A dark forest seperated both but it wasn't much of a barrier in his current situation.

Chrenos was a survivor. His father had trained him extremely well in the art of not dieing. Almost as well as the art of killing. Chrenos was panting hard. He had been running for quite some time now and he knew he would need to run for quite some time more. He decided he had rested long enough and decided to get underway. He started running by the roadside. He stayed clear of the main road but always ran parallel to it so that in case someone would approach he could find cover in the bushes that ran on the side of the road. The splashign noise he made as he ran was drowned by the loud melody of raindrops on leaves. Chrenos felt alone but he knew better then to assume that.

Argentum was heavy by his side. With each step it seemed to bring him down. With each step in mud it seemed to sink him in. But no matter how heavy Argentum became Chrenos would never get rid of it. He would die before Argentum is taken from him. Chrenos heard a noise. The snap of a twig. It didn't take long, Chrenos was already hiding in a bush, listening. He needed confirmation that it was an animal, he needed confirmation that he hadn't been tagged, confirmation that he was still safe. Some would say Chrenos grew paranoid since his escape but he would deny that fact. He wasn't paranoid he was being safe and in his current situation who would blame him, who would understand him.

It was just a deer. A deer that reminded Chrenos he hadn't eaten all day. He looked at his rations and realized his still had plenty for a few days but soon he would be runnign out but without a bow and in his current position there was no way he could kill the deer so he decided not to run after the deer. A few seconds later the deer ran off leaving Chrenos once again alone. He decided to take a few bites from his lunch but even though he knew he needed to nourish himself he wasn't feeling all that hungry. He sat there absentmindedly chewing the same piece of breads for minutes on end thinking about what had happened and what would happen.

Inc0gnit0: Accepted. Your username (not character name) is also the name of a friend of mine, he's also a roleplayer like yourself. I also like how your character abhors vampires.

Also, I'm going to wait before posting for a bit. I'm expecting about three more people to join, so the RPG is on a somewhat pause of sorts. However feel free to post for those who haven't yet. Or if you already have feel free to do so as well.

wait... when you say they have a weakness to silver do you mean:
A) they can be cut by silver and by extension are impervious to all other weapons
B) if they get cut by silver they instantly die
C) when cut by silver they take additional physical maladies such as the flesh around the wound burns or it takes longer for blood to clot around the wound, etc etc...

Just C. If a vampire gets wounded by silver, the flesh cauterizes and it will take the blood to clot longer but that's it. No other side-effects, although the area where the vampire has been wounded by silver will also be more prone to infection.

Question. Does this mean that in effect, vampires only have a one up on humans with their transforming or elemental skills? Plus with the addition of everything a vampire is weak against, does this mean they're actually weaker than humans?

Well, no. Not really, they're suppose to be "equals." Just because the vampires have more weaknesses and have a limitation to the amount of time they use their powers for, it doesn't really make them weaker. Seeing that the amount of power they hold is enormous. So basically, great amount of power with a time limit. Time limit being approximately five hours of continuous use of energy. Does that make any sense?

Hmm one could look at it like this. For one vampires can live pretty much as long as they want, barring of course death caused by force or some great illness which they are better at combating anyway. Though vampires can be injured by normal material weapons, they can find a way of replenishing that blood loss (i.e. drinking someone/something elses) eventhough the blood loss itself effects them more.
A human isn't effected by sunlight or silver, but blood loss due to a wound will eventually catch up with them, even if in the short run some loss of blood doesn't impede the current action to much, as they cannot simply drink what they've lost to sustain their processes and blood packs/transfusions aren't something 18th century doctors can do...well not easily.
Plus, humans only can live so long and they cannot control elements or shape shift.

So both races are "equal" as each have their own weaknesses and strengths.
Though I can't see why vampires can't use weapons, as long as they are not silver lined or based, they should be able to use a sword or something.
But I think thats another way of looking at the races...maybe?

wait... they are immune to illness... but wounds by silver are more prone to infection... more prone than immune is...?

oh, and are vampires actually affected by crucifixes and holy water? or did you substitute the werewolf based weakness to silver instead of that

KuroTan

I think I get it. I guess in ways, a vampire can find loopholes in the system. Like hiding from the sun so he won't be rendered useless even though it's morning.

I'm trying to make humans and vampires as equal as possible, which is the reason why vampires cannot use weapons.

For the whole immuinty thing. Vampires can get infections when wounded by a silver blade. However in genereal they don't catch diseases such as colds, flu, chicken pox et cetera. Or if wounded by something other than silver, it would heal faster. When wounded by silver, their immunity is disoriented and is removed entirely from the wounded area. Until they are healed.

Vampires only weaknesses are: Sunlight, silver and bloodloss. ( Crucifixes and holy water do not affect them. )

Also refer to Fionn's post.

...why didn't you mention this non-weakness to holy water sooner? now I have to change my profile!

ah well... no biggie... *gets posting scissors*

oh and just a note... weapons made with silver would probably be alloyed with silver, a solid silver weapon would be incredibly malleable and bend easily making it completely nonfunctional as a weapon... so...yeah... just a slight correction...um...I'll be quiet now...

Flah Blah
11-02-2007, 07:31 PM
Wow, I thought I did mention it already when you asked about the type of vampire. I said they were pretty much humans blessed with long life, special powers and had to drink blood with the added weaknesses of sunlight and silver. I don't think I said anything else for weaknesses. So that included holy water and whatever other folklorish weaknesses. Oh, well. Sorry that you misunderstood.

Also, thanks for correcting the part about the weapons being alloyed with silver. Best to sort this all now instead of later. Anything else?

Some good news, I'll finally be getting my laptop by this sunday so I'll be back soon. Also it'd be nice to conclude the character introductions/developpment by then, since we'll be moving on from the raids.
I'm also thoroughly impressed that everyone still posted and I like the direction of where the RPG is going right now. Hooray.

Hollow Ichigo: Still not accepted, sorry. I had a hard time reading your post and also, you're only permitted one element if you're going to use elemental manipulation as your vampiric ability. If you could fix that up, that would be super-duper.

Seikyuu Kiba: Just a small issue, your attire consists of a white tuxedo? Sorry, but tuxedo's didn't show up until the late 19th century. We're in the early 18th but the fingerless gloves still work. Other than that, nice to have you onboard.

Bad news, guys. First off, I'd like to apologize for not posting the next chapter last Sunday when I said I would. However, the RPG will be closing down since I can no longer maintain nor handle one at the moment. Sorry, sorry! I'd also like the thank you guys for your patience with me, I know I take FOREVER to put things up. Anyway, it has been a great experience (even though it's been a short one) roleplaying with you guys. I'll also be leaving AF for a little bit (a month at least) which is another reason why I cannot continue with the RPG. A big thanks to everyone who participated.
