Well i would say the best swordsman is Gekko Hayate from Naruto.His style is simply flawless unless you have sand armor.I also think Jiraya is one of the best ninjas there ever was.Why?Simply because he can stand to the young ones and still beat them up!I mean he fought against Naruto 4 tailed.Against.......well i don't want to spoil so i wont say.He is fairly old and as older he is the weaker he gets he loses chakra and his power fades.I mean simply look at the 4 Hokage.If he was younger in the fight with Orochimaru he would have beaten him for sure!Also Jiraya keeps up with the young guys and is an equal match for any ninja!Huh now that was long^^ Well anyways thats my opinion.

Ninja I would say Uchiha Itachi because he was leader of Anbu at age of 13. Not Naruto only because naruto has a Nine-Tailed Demon Fox in him and without it he would most likely be dead.

For Samurai it would be Mariya Enshirou from Samurai Champloo(no this isn't blatant fanboyism) If you have seen the way he fights you'd agree. He was probably the strongest samurai in all of japan or possibly the world at the time.
