Rau le Cruzet is a?

I'm a bit confused about this particular character (lets include Rey za Barrell as well) because he is on the Coordinators' side, but he admitted that he is a clone of Mu la Flaga's father which is a natural. I dont know if he is classified as a coordinator but since he is a clone of a natural, wouldn't that make him a natural as well?

The difference between Coordinators and Naturals is that Coordinators have their genes operated before birth.

Cloning is made known as against the law of nature at the very beginning before 'Genetic technologies' - if you'd remembered watching Flaga's father approaching the Professor talking about it.

When cloning is 'prohibited', scientist of course would try other ways to 'overcome' that law, which 'Genetic Technologies' gave the solution and so on the story goes by...

What I'm trying to say is that, Cloning is an overall process which also touches human genes and it is the 'mother' of 'Genetic Technologies'. So to answer whether Cruzet is a Coordinator? Yes he is, because his genes were also operated before 'birth' or the 'process'.

He is a coordinator. For some reason, I always believed he's a coordinator even he's a clone of Mu La Flaga's father. I also agree with Namles84 because coordinators have their genes operated before birth.

I really think Rau is a coordinator. I watched GS and saw that coordinators have their genes operated before birth. Though Kira and Cagalli are siblings and come from the same parents, Kira was the one whose genes was operated before he was born while Cagalli was not operated on her genes so she became a Natural and Kira a coordinator. So when Rau's genes were operated, he became a coordinator.

well if you ask me, he isnt a coordinator, even amidst the fact that it was genetic engineering that "made" him. why, because of the simple fact that clones are exact copies of the original, whatever it is. his talents must be from the original (so i take it that mu's father is a really talented natural), the only flaw about cloning at that time (as explained by rey) is the clone's body ages more rapidly than normal.

hmm.. He's a coordinator, he admits himself as a coordinator. and even though he's a clone it was said in an episode to clone and improve himself better than Mu. He's a 100% coordinator.

Mu is a coordinator. he was cloned and was also genetically changed to be a coordinator.

Looks like I'm going against the tide here, but I think that Rau is a Natural. After all, he was a clone of Mu's father, and Mu (and his father) were both Naturals. Rau definitely isn't a normal Natural, though; his skills as a Newtype make him almost on par with Coordinators.

The Key differences between Naturals and a Clone is:
- Naturals are born naturally and has parents and they are not 'copies' of their parents (even they may pick up habits of their parents that does not mean they are clones). Naturals are also 'created' through the union of the male and female reproductive cells.

- Clones are operated before birth or in other words, they are indeed not born naturally even it has a 'parent', cuz the term 'parent' here, refers to a copy of the original and clones requires a 'vessel' to replicate itself.


If to say that Cruzet whether a Natural or a Coordinator, the first question is:
- "Does he has a father or mother?"
(He don't have a father or mother, that was what he said and what Mu said to Ramius about Cruse's heritage)

- "Is he born naturally?"
(He might be born out of the womb, but the anime only show that he was born in the facility where Kira and Cagali was born *refer to the Episode when Mu was chasing Cruset into the facility inside the abandoned coloney)

- "Is he created through the union between the male and female reproductive cell?"
(He is a 'copy' of Mu la Flaga's father)

- "Is his genes operated?"
(If you realize in the anime, Cruze grew older faster than Naturals because of the key cell, Testrones [Wrong spelling, but thats roughly how it is pronounce. My apologize.], is shorter than Naturals, which is way he is taking medicine to 'tame' that problem.

To bring close up, the answer of the debate were all shown in the anime. You just need to listen to what the characters said.
