Reason for hating Sesshomaru

Alright. I have heard this around other forums and some around here. Some people say he's cruel and unfeeling. Not true. If he was, I'd highly doubt he'd let Rin-Chan follow him with Jakken and.. his Ah-Un or whatever it's called.

Now. Thing I want to know. What is your perspective on this Lord of the West? .. Or East. Whichever. o_O And don't say one word posts. It's annoying. And if it is done, It'll be ignored.

Give a decent reason to why you think what he is.

Now. What I'll say about him. First off, he's not cold or unfeeling. He allows Rin-Chan to follow him around. Second off.. he doesn't honestly and truly hate his brother. It's just more of a disliking towards the Hanyou. Hating is another thing. =)

I don't hate him but I don't love him.
If you watch him throughout the series you realize he evolves towards a more caring person/demon/ thing.
I don't love him because there are times when he's just basically mean and cold-hearted.
He's just one of those characters that isn't evil and isn't truly good.

So yes, Sesshomaru tried to kill Inuyasha but you are not taking into account how many times he has saved Inyasha and his friends sorry behinds.

I think Sesshomaru is a character every manga/anime needs. If he wasn't there, it just wouldn't be as good. I mean he's there sometimes hating Inu Yasha, but sometimes saving his life. And I think he's pretty cool. And he has a story. He's not like some random side character with no past or story. He makes Inu Yasha flow. And him being Inu Yasha's brother makes the plot even more interesting. So if Sesshomaru wasn't there, the whole manga/anime would be missing a big chunk.

there is no reason to hate sesshoumaru after he ran to rin's aid so many times in a row, yes he said he hated humans but he's changed a lot so he parctically one of the good guys

But I still don't understand why he picket up that brat and why does he need that low-life demon...they only slow him down anyway he would be better off by himself.
He reminds me of Fou-Lu from "Breath of Fire 4" which I think is equal to Sesshoumaru..

I didn't like Sess to begin with. But he grew on me as time went on. I don't think he's completely cold, especially after the whole thing with Rin.

I can see why some people hate him, because he's frustrating in one regard - his response is often silence. So it's difficult to know what he's thinking and that can make him seem more cold or heartless.

But he does care about Rin and Jakken, and even, I think, Inuyasha to some degrees as the series goes on.

I think he's an interesting character. I agree with the people who've said that such characters are generally the best crafted ones - I'm usually a fan of the villain or the anti-hero for this reason. I don't think I ever follow an all out hero - they have to be a flawed hero to be interesting to me.

I don't know that Sess is a hero, but he's still pretty cool and he has principles, whether you agree with them or not.

I'm not going to say that I like or hate Sesshomaru--I simply respect him. When I began watching Inuyasha I will admit that he was my least favorite character (until Naraku came into the picture that is). But after watching episode 35, when Rin came into the picture I saw a somewhat different Sesshomaru. I mean, he still has his cold demeanor, but deep down we know that there's compassion growing in his heart. I'm sure that all these feelings of compassion are new to him, but I believe that possibly one day, he will come to accept these feelings as a part of himself.

I love how intelligent and calm he is, even in the heat of battle, he barely looks flustered. Well, for the most part, there have been times he's gone all demon-maniacal, but on the whole, he's so... smooth and cool. I also love how he cares for Rin... He was able to overlook her humanness, or maybe even embrace it, since it seemed to soften him towards Kagome, Miroku, and Sango. It's nice to see a character grow and change like that, even when they were way cool in the first place. ;)

Indeed. He's more calm than most of the characters. Even though Inuyasha IS his " half " brother, as their mothers' were different, he as a harsh temper. Both are a type of youkai, but even so their temperments can be different.

When Inuyasha gets' stressed, he acts out and yells; telling someone to shut up, or hitting Shippou over the head.

Sesshomaru on the other hand is different. He just stays quiet, thinking over what to do about it, ot just ignores it. <3

And yes. Even though Rin is a human, he cares. It's why he allows her to stay with him. She did something for him, and he did something for her. Fairs fair.
