Wraht and Sloth (ANIME)

Alright, so when Sloth was born, she was like insideout demonic thing that somehow crawled on something or whatever... Once she was fed the solidified red water, she was able to gain a humaniod humunculous form. Wrath was different. We see that he looked like a boy from the start even before the red water.

Can someone explain why this is? Is wrath or sloth a special case or what?

Wrath was created when Izumi Curtis attempted to transmute her dead baby on Yock Island. The result was a Homunculus with its typical inhuman appearance when immature. Horrified, Izumi sent it back into the Gate where Wrath remained, aging there in the process. So he was also inhuman looking when he was created.
