shaman king new season

hi everybody(new guy:D),

I just watched SK for the 5 time or sow and I still can't get inuf of it,
This is because I hate cliffhangers and I want to know what happens next.
That's why I want to ask you WHY they arn't making a new season of SK when it has a great succes in other country's(like Belgium where I'm from,Italy,...)?
It mayby a little bit late but I want to be shure that there is nothing we can do to get SK back on tv:help2:.

ummm well, it depends how much success it has been getting, i'd say if it where famous maybe some people could care to protest to make another series, it could be possible, i'd want it to come back in series two aswell, so yep it'll be big if it comes back, i'd love to watch it, plus i think they did mention in the end of sk that they where going to hold another shaman tournament, when they saw the deistiny star again after beating zeek

yes manta(morti) said in the end that the destinnystar was back and then you could see that the oraclebell went back on.
So there is potential for a new season but if it's true what I've read then they stopped because the ratings for the manga started to drop and they desided to cancel it, but I think there is a little bit hope because SK is still in the top 50 of most watches anime.
This is really stupid and that shows how stupid the mentalitie is in Japan.
Why not just make a few manga but then a few good ones instead of jumping from one serie to another when the viewingratings drop.
How can I make this clear to those guy's in Japan:banghead::banghead:because I can't read japanese.

Edit: found a top 100 of the most watched anime in Japane(don't know if it's that reliable):
shaman king is n° 47 so I think there is a little bit of hope if they would ask other country's what they like.

i wish they would put something about the shaman fight, till the end where someone becomes shaman king. somehow i also wish there was a "funbari no uta" in the anime like the manga. Hey, might as well put Hana in as well! go forward in time would be the best.

the biggest probleme isn't that takei won't listen but that if there would be a new season it needs to have more fans in Japan before they can really make somthing out of it and the only way they can do that is by making more publicity for SK. And after Sk gets some new fans in Japan they'll continue and then it will go further then Japan.
So the biggest probleme isn't Takei but ShonenJump the com. where he works for.;)

that hiroyuki-san (creator of shaman king) had annouuced that he will publish shaman king manga volume 32 by the end of this year. hooray for the return of sk but it doesn't mean anime will continue......

Next week, Takei will have a message in Weekly Shonen Jump! The section his message will be under is the "Go!Go!SQ!" which is a section about the new manga magazine, Jump SQ (released monthly starting in Nov.). His message could just be "support" for the new magazine, BUT there will be an illustration by Takei as well (as far as the orginal rumor-news says). And rule of thumb is (and even more so if it's noted in advance)...

New drawings almost always mean a new series!

And by new series, it could mean Shaman King comes back! Or it could be something new! It could be a one shot, or it could be a brand new series. Either way, it will VERY likely mean that it will be in JumpSQ and NOT Weekly Shonen Jump. This means, if it's any more than a oneshot chapter, it will be monthly chapter releases.

So, I'd like to annouce at this time, or just re-confirm, if Takei releases anything in JumpSQ (oneshot, SK, or something new), Mankin-Trad will try it's hardest to scanlate what ever it is.

Just like with Jyuki Ningen Jumbor, we will work hard next week to both raw scans and translations for the one page message (ok, half page message, somebody else is making a comment too). Also, if it is Shaman King coming back, yes, we will finish up all 32 volumes of Shaman King manga BEFORE it gets released (assuming it follows my prediction as stated below). So check out this site for anything Takei, since we keep you updated!

(Oh, and here's just my hunch, not fact, but I'm normally not off by very much. I believe it will be Shaman King returning, but it won't start until the 2nd or more likely the 3rd issue, the January issue.)

(Also, this clearly isn't the project I have talked about in the last news post, so yes, these are two different things. But with this new, soon to be annouced annoucement, Mankin-Trad will be up to 4.5 manga series scanlated (the .5 from Funbari No Uta).)

this was a reply to the question when SK V33 was going to be released.

Q1 - Can you explain why SK suddenly got cut even if he had over 30 volumes?
Takei: It's mostly fatigue. This particular serie really evolved since his early volumes and the continuous efforts that I put on my manga "drained" me if I could say that.

Q2 - We have heard about a suspension pure and simple based on "money issues". So that rumour was false?
Takei : Well, it's a lot more complicated : a magazine like Weekly Shonen Jump, the fans are the one who decide. The book sales were still really ok, but the wish of the readers are really the law about the content of the mag. Shaman King had been followed very closely by fans, so the link created between the author and the fans was very strong. This have a lots of good sides, on the other hand, it's also sometimes hard! Slowly, I lost the capacity to follow their wishes.

Q3 - You are talking about the massive fans mail and the voting card that we find on pre-publicated( well I don't know the word to say that the mag is the first publication before the volume) magazine?
Takei : Yes, Shaman King have thousand of readers, so you can imagine the direct influence they have on the serie. If they interest for one serie fade, so it publication got threatened even with sale of 22 millions copies.

Q4 - If we pick your two mangas that we have in France, Shaman King and Butsu Zone, both have shamanism (and by extension a lots of shapes for spirituality from the whole) and some buddhism. Is that your leitmotiv in manga?
Takei (answer shortended and summerized, by BadS since the first part isn't important): I don't really draw spiritual manga, I stay a shonen author, but it's important for me to insert some messages and to make the reader think.
Takei says that he used some new ideas and that's what made SK famous (his originality in fact) but the same reader who did that.. also want to put this back in a "classic shonen" and this particular thing drained a lot during the publication.
He closed his answer with : If we have limited talent, it's quite easy to get in the jump. Be able to stay in it, that's a totally different story. He did manage to pass through six years...

Q5 - You have worked hard on Jumbor Barutronica, haven't you?Takei : I was in shape yes, so I definitely put a lot of energy into this one-shot and I was very strict.

Kang Zeng Bang mean "Complete edition." Basically this means reprints, but Shaman King is going to change that...

To summerize all this info here are the key facts (that have been confirmed):
- Shaman King is being reprinted starting in March 2008.
- There will be 27 reprinted volumes
- Each volume will cost 1000yen
- 2 volumes will be released each month
- The new chapters will be printed in these reprinted volumes (so the numbering scheme will not match, so there won't be a volume 33)

Here's some more info that wasn't mentioned, but assumed (and since we've been right with all this info before, just take our word for it, we know what we are talking about):
- All 32 manga volumes will be compressed. So there will be more chapters per volume, not less chapters. Instead of 8 chapters a volume, there may be 10 or 11 or 12. It is also possible that some of the extras will be removed.
- It's possible that new extras could be added.
- Each volume will have a "clear plastic cover." This means, that there will probably be an "overlay" design that will add to the cover image.
- As with all reprint volumes, there are new artwork for the cover images
- It's very possible that color pages will be in these reprints. It happened with Kenshin, it will happen here.
- Even though they didn't say it, new Shaman King chapters will start in JumpSQ in March. With this, they can do some cross promoteing. There will still be at least 1 volumes length of new SK chapters, but by the time they are ready for printing, the reprint volumes would have caught up.
