View Full Version : The Bounto Arc
I just want to throw it out there that I love this arc.
I especially liked the Nova + Chad (Another favorite character) + Ururu trio. I am annoyed that Rangiku was in it though.
The arc had a lot of depth to it for one. There was the history of the Bounto which re-exposed us to how corrupt some of the operations that Soul Society has are.
I think the very end of the bounto arc where all the bounto were being picked apart was better than the soul society arc in my opinion.
As someone who reads the manga, I gotta say that I 'm not liking the arrancar arc so much because it's a bit childish. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone though. The bounto arc counteracted some of the annoying parts of the arancar arc so far.

The plot was a complete re-hash of the Soul Society Arc with a few changes. It dragged on a lot, even for filler.
The animation steadily decreased throughout.
The three new mod souls were useless and annoying as all hell. A watch that flashed when a bounto was near could have replaced all three.
Nameless' appearance was completely useless and was nothing more than fanservice, in a sense.
Most of what happened in the arc was completely fanservice.
The fact that the three new mod souls are continue to appear is annoying as all hell.
Really, it wasn't that bad, but I found it extremely annoying most of the time.

I completley agree with what you just said there, I found the Bounto part to be pretty boring, but just like any other anime, it was expected after the main story that they have left us hanging for awhile with fillers.

The Bounto Arc was interesting... I for one thought it was better than the soul society arc. The Bounto arc was different but had some similar things to the soul society arc...

I agree with you entirely. While the Bounto did somewhat interest me at the start, that liking gradually diminished as it progressed on. Towards the close of it, the arc seemed to be nothing more than a wasted attempt to recreate the excitment of the Soul Society Arc with very few changes. The final confrontation between Kariya and Ichigo was practically a repeat of the battle with Byakuya, again, with FEW changes. I don't know what was going through the minds of the people responsible for the creation of this poor excuse of a Bleach arc, but I was sorely disappointed in it.
In my opinion, Bleach would have been better without. Even for a filler, it was just....pathetic.

I agree. I had a similar experience.
The bounto all had different abilities and dolls that made them unique. It was just like each zanpakuto had a different ability. A handfull of the characters had in-depth personalities.
The three mod-souls weren't any more annoying than Kon and Rukia's mod soul.
The word "fan sevice" is a dysphemism for "entertainment" which is the PURPOSE of anime (filler or not)
If you didn't like the Bounto arc than I don't see you enjoying bleach. I'll tell you this: the arrancar arc that follows it has much more annoying characters in it than the mod-souls could ever match.

to me the bounto arc was like a cold shower...during every single episode i hoped that the situation would change...the story was prety dull, the motion of the story line was incredibly slow(it made me bang my head against the keyboard more often than i usually do :banghead: ) ...all in all it left a bitter taste to me... and i've had such high expectations...i thanked the lord when it ended...anyways the last Arc is interesting.

I also thought so. Though I did like the Mod souls :3.
I was at the point to where I was going to stop watching and wait for more episodes to come out.
