I have always loved Hiei's character. He, just after yusuke, has had the best character develpoment. Noble, strong willed, and loyal. True, Kurama is the token gentleman, but he was too gentle given his demonic past. I never felt like his stroy rang true in the way that Hiei's does. Bitter, untrusting, cold, and distant. Kuwabara and Yusuke are good as well, but they don't command attention the way Hiei does either. Dynamic, powerful, hot headed.

Yeah. Hiei may have not have been part of the creators original cast, but there has neevr been a doubt in my mind that he was by far the best.

i like kurama. He has that kind of softness and gentleness in him that most guys don't have. He's soft-spoken, calm, and he's not arrogant. He's also smart, refined, and talented. And his skills are centered on roses. Who wouldn't fall in love with that? XD

The only thing I don't really like about him I guess...is that he's too serious. Smile a bit, Kurama!!

Younger Toguro. At first glance, he comes across as being your stereotypical card-board villain. This is based primarily on his design, which is that of a muscle bound bad *** sporting dark shades. However, as Yu Yu Hakusho progresses and more is revealed about him, one reaches the conclusion that he is actually an interesting character.

Not unlike most people, Younger Toguro feared growing vulnerable. He dreaded the day when he would be unable to defend himself against the onslaughts of others. A part of him always desired power to prevent this from happening. However, what truly sealed the deal in making him seek power was the slaughter of his students at the hands of the demon, Kiren. Believing they were killed because he lacked strength, Younger Toguro blamed himself for their deaths. In defeating Kiren and winning the Dark Tournament, he wished to be made into the highest class of demon so that he would obtain unimaginable power. However, he later regretted his decision. He sought to be punished for what he had done. Yusuke delivered that punishment. After his defeat, Younger Toguro asked Koenma to sentence him to limbo, where he would suffer excruciating pain for all eternity.

On the whole, I consider Younger Toguro to be a unique character. He desires punishment for a decision he regrets, which is an objective I have never seen an antagonist in a fictional story try to reach before. People often claim Sensui is the best antagonist from Yu Yu Hakusho, but I beg to differ. Sensui is a good character, but he does not hold a candle to Younger Toguro, who is more original, deep, and complex.

Furthermore, Younger Toguro has a heart of gold. It is evident from his love for Genkai and how he cares for his students that he is a kind person willing to go the extra mile for those he holds dear. He is also honorable and will give his opponents clean fights without any strings attached.

Hiei all the way. He was probably one of my first favorite anime characters considering YuYu Hakusho was one of the first animes I ever saw.

Well, I didn't take the time to look through all seven pages, but for me, I'd have to say my top three are:

1. Shinobu Sensui - He's my favorite because 1) he has a very disturbed mind, just like me, 2) he has a very unique fighting style, which I really like, and 3) he has the power of the sacred energy, which is also pretty baller.

2. Full Demon Yusuke (the one at the end of the Chapter Black Saga) - I guess it's pretty weird when your two most favorite characters are pitted against one another. But his long, white hair and tattoos make him look pretty freakin cool, and he was absolutely ruthless when he took out you-know-who.

3. Hiei - I like him because he goes through the most change in the anime... just like I like Vegeta because he goes through the most change in DBZ.

Hiei is great.
Yoko Kurama is better then Kurama but both are awesome.
I just love Jin, not sure why, wish there was more of him.
I like Koenma alot too :p
