recommendations for anime similar to FMA?

FMA is pretty unique. There are some just as good, but not similar. Blood+ is pretty good(if a bit gory), and Trinity Blood is... interesting. Huh, I just noticed the word "blood" shows up a whole lot in anime.... weird. Anyway, Eureka 7 is good too, and made by the same people as FMA

Hmmm I have to agree with everyone but you should look for some good action / adventure anime series.

I would recommend that you look into Kenshin or Naruto.

I can't think of any anime similar to FMA...

I would recommend that you watch :
-Bleach (shounen, supernatural)
-Fate/Stay Night (supernatural, action, thriller, fantasy, romance)
-Black Cat (adventure, sci-fi, bounty hunter, shounen)
-Gun x Sword (action, adventure)

If you're looking for action with a bit of drama and comedy, you should look for Cowboy Bebop. Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo its also a good choice.

I second Bebop and would like to add Chrono Crusade to the ever growing list. :)

Nothing that I can think of is very similar to FMA. That is a one of a kind masterpiece in my opinion. It's really a story driven anime that also has a great balance of action, comedy and suspense.

Trigun is kinda similar...they both wear red coats and have blond hair ;)

The enemies have a similar appeal to them. I did say they were not the same but I'm not going to sit here and argue with you about it. she/he can check it out if they want to.
