Im one for the more faster, more manuveurable Gundams and MSs.

First one that comes to mind is Char Aznable's Red Comet. I just love using it in the "Battle Assault" games because of how quick it moves. Plus, of course, in the anime, it just seems to glide so fast across the sky in battle; and in space how it can zig-zag so effortlessly darting back and forth. I like the red, but Id give it my own black and green theme. Maybe call it Emerald Comet or something like that.

Next I thought maybe the Acguy. Don't laugh.... I think its cool how fast it moves in the games as well. Its so small that it can get under most high attacks. That and its kinda cute, like it needs the attention that it deserves.^^ Its useful in the anime too in small, surprise confrontations. I believe its amphibious, so thats always a plus.

Im a little curious about piloting the "Ball". Just something about it wants me to just go joyriding in it.:laugh:

For a Gundam...oh baby, Ive got to start with Death Scythe. Id prefer the winged versions to the first non-wing type. Duo makes good use of its maneuvering capabilities. And that sickle is just what sets it all off. I like staff-like weapons, so you understand why it would attract me to D.Scythe. Id want to definately get my hands on the controls of that Gundam.:cool:

Id want to pilot the first Original Gundam. I want to pilot the Gundam that started it all. Maybe get the feeling that Amoro Ray got when he sat in it for the first time.

I'd love to pilot the GAT-X252 Forbidden. With energy shields to protect and a massive plasma cannon that curves it would be quite awesome. Not to mention it has a freakin' scythe. With two rail runs to round it out it is a very interesting suit indeed. Its a pity its not nuclear powered though.

I also want to pilot the Freedom because it gave the finishing blow to the Destroy Gundam, which eventually self-destructed.

As it is my favorite, and has been for a while, I would have to choose the ZGMF-X1OA Freedom Gundam.

My reason behind this choice isn't necessarily because of its power, or how it came off as one of the more popular mobile suits of the Gundam series. If I had to give a reason, it would be because of how it was presented during the Gundam Seed series, and how it came to be something of a "savior". At least, that's how I came to see it through my perspective.

Not entirely true, the Devil Gundam only became so because the DG cells were damaged when it crash landed on Earth. But if you wanna pilot the "safe" version of this, go for Ultimate Gundam, that's Devil Gundam before it got corrupted, evil and rapes the crap outta you.

As for me, I'd personally love to have a go in God Gundam with the Mobile Trace System, if I were all Gar and a martial artist.

Then for power, I would choose either Turn A or Turn X, Turn A if loaded with nukes and fully operational (meaning Moonlight Butterfly, teleportation, regeneration and I-field). Turn X effectively allows me to do the "Shining Finger" or "Burning Finger" and a "bits style" attack without being a Newtype.

If I was a Zeon grunt, I'd like the Zaku II 06 Kai (colony), the Gelgoog Canon type (space), the Dom Trophen (for land battles) and the Hygogg (for land/sea battefields).

As to why so many people insist on using Uber Gundams.. Which they probably won't ever get, and if do won't know how to pilot...

Tsk, tsk. The GM and Zaku are superb Mobile Suits, sure the plot armour is crap, and hey, I'm assuming when you talk about "getting shot down" you mean in the face of a Gundam - which one should expect.

The point being, those MS are specifically cannon fodder in the series, which realistically shouldn't happen.

The MS both have different advantages and criticsms, they have different armour, different weaponry, weight ratios and power output.

I love Gundam, and Ive honestly watched every series, completely (save the new one released in Japan not too long ago...the name escapes me at the moment but yea...) and I honestly can say that those two series are my least favorite and most hated out of all of the gundams. I even liked G Gundam better, and G Gundam was somewhat out there for a gundam series!

Honestly, the only reason people like SEED is because its filled with explosions and crap loads of drama. The older series (like the original, Zeta and 8th MS Team) are overlooked a lot because there is a lot more of the military strategy and command put into it, giving it that realistic feel and making the story even deeper. Wing, while Im not a big fan of it, did have more elements of "Realism" than SEED did and it gets the higher grade simply due to that. Wing executed the drama well and from time to time made you feel like you could possibly be there. SEED, however, failed to do that for me.

in terms of capabilities, heavy arms custom, full armor gundam, and the zaku (purely for the adaptability factor)

SEED and SEED Destiny was made for an entire new generation of young people who had never seen the Original Gundam or Z Gundam ect. They were made to bring back the Gundam boom. And if you ask me, it worked.

I had never seen Gundam before in my life and I wasn't really interested all all untill I saw Gundam SEED. The first thing that caught my eye about SEED wasn't the mecha. It was the characters, the storyline, the GREAT cast... For me, it was new, and I loved it. But around the time that it finished airing, I heard that alot of the storyline was taken from an older series of Gundam. So I looked that up and I was lead to the Original Gundam. And it absolutely blew me away. And in the time that took for Sunrize to get SEED Destiny up and running I had watched most of the old Gundam series, and had fallen even more in love. But now, not only with the characters and the storyline, but the mecha as well. Then SEED Destiny came out, with the characters that I had fallen in love with in SEED, and new characters, new mecha, new suprises (Ikeda Shuichi), and not to mention the beauty of the art. And it didn't really let me down,even though I kinda could tell what was going to happen. I was even fine with the ending. I don't know... Maybe I'm just weird that way.

But all in all; I love Gundam SEED, because it's the Gundam series that introduced me to the world of Gundam. And I think alot of people feel the same way.

Anyway my favorite mobile suits are:
Char's sazabi, Char's Zaku, Justice, Blitz (I love how they reused it's arm in the Ashtray manga because I loved that Gundam), Gouf Ignited, Lunamaria's Zaku, and Acguy (I swear the Acguy are the cutest things in the entire Gundam world!!)

no no I understand your view completely and thats fine because you actually acknowledge the "flaws" that I pointed out. I simply dislike SEED and SEED Destiny because they really arent a "new" series so much as a remake and I prefer the original. I just think the original was done better, it gave more of a feel that the Earth Federation was actually fighting a losing battle, in my opinion.

But I really do understand your view point. For instance Ill always hold a certain love for 8th MS Team because that was the series that really got me hooked on Gundam. I mean sure, I watched parts of the orignal before that, but 8th MS was the first one I watched all the way through, and I loved it. So yea, I understand where you are coming from.

seed, seed destiny are a little out there for me (mechs were cool though). i mean the ending of seed and seed destiny were the same. epic battle+unnecessary use of weapons of mass destruction+kira crying (ok forgot if he cried after destiny but it comes to mind) = lame. wing got me hooked so i like wing but UC timeline always and forever will own all other timelines.

The original Freedom. For one, it's not a huge over kill like Strike-Freedom is. In the Strike-Freedom Kira just flies around hardly trying.... What a great fight....~_~

I think the original Freedom looks better to. The Strike-Freedom is flashy with the gold.... It's just.... Bleh.... It's like throwing bling all over a car... Just bleh....

The Freedom in Seed was also still a huge tactical advantage, almost as much as the Strike-Freedom. For the mobile-suits it was up against it was just as good. I'm not saying the the Strike-Freedom is just a worthless pile of crap. It brings to the table a good helping of power. Just don't like it's overkill status....

The answer to this question is so simple. I would pilot the most hardcore mobile weapon ever produced by the Gundam series' legacy. Being the only one of it's kind in the plethora of mecha mammoths, it stands alone but tall. I would pilot the legendary RB-79 Ball. Because if your enemy is too busy laughing at the thing they're fighting, they won't notice the grandiose cannon aimed right at their cockpit until it's too late.

But aside from that Deus Machina of unmentionable destructive power. I would have to go with. . . Hmm. . . The RX-110 Gabthley. I mean despite it's unsightly appearance, it had the potential to be a deadly weapon, especially if in the hands of a skilled pilot instead of some rookies and a revenge-driven moron. I saw great potential for the Gabthley. It's Feyadeen rifle had the firepower of a warship's main bow cannon at the time, yet it's speed was nearly unmatched by any other unit, Gundam or not. I believe that if I were to pilot a Gabthley that was fitted to fight in the other Gundam epochs, I could tear down every "super Gundam" to date. Because for all their power, the Gundams of late are nothing but over-glorified action figures.
