As I've stated in several posts, for seven years now I've been working on what I hoped would be a massive expansion story to Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon. And while initially inspired by the dub, it quickly took a turn to resemble the original version. As I worked on it, I devoured anything and everything I could find about Sailormoon. As this project as grown from a simple 2 season addition to a story spanning 8 shows over 24 seasons, it's taken on a life of it's own. It was no longer an expansion story but has become a revisioning that evolved from the original mature feel created by Naoko Takeuchi in her manga. Kame wo Tenshi Sailormoon is the main story that involves the girls created by Naoko-sensei and spans 10 seasons while adding in a few more guys, nastier villains, sub-plots that run so deep you don't see them untill they break forth and become a crisis. I could go on, but I've come up with a nice description of it:

Kame o Tenshi is a melodramatic war story wrapped up as an action adventure around a magical romance. Beliefs will be questioned, governments will topple as espionage and conspiracies run rampant, friendships will be shattered, and love will be tested as the drums of war march ever onwards. But even as the auguries of destruction ravage our world, there is soft lullaby of rebirth that sings throughout the galaxy as those born to be the light of hope see the father of all evil dangle existence in its darkest hour.

Besides a storyline full of twists and turns, I've got other changes in mind. Music that is scored not mixed. The animation will be of the highest quality. Backgrounds that will make your jaw drop, careful though. Though, look at those pretty backgrounds too much and you’ll miss characters that are airbrushed to perfection. Of course for such high-end animation it'll all have to be done on computers and designed to look like cell animation. As for the English version, since it's being written in English first, a poor translation will not be a possibility to be concerned with. Plus I'll be looking into the possibility of the Japanese seiyuu recording the English version.

I post this looking for some feedback as to your thoughts about this teaser I've given. And if you are thinking this is just some stunt, think again. I've been looking into everything I need to do to get this made. I know with whom I need to talk to. I know with whom I need to negotiate with. And I know who might stand in my way and how to get around them. I've worked too long and too hard..with too many migraines involved..to be stopped. Sadly, since I don't even have it, I can't give you a date to expect it out. Sorry.

Also if you just view this without leaving any feedback, that doesn't help me. So PLEASE, I implore you, leave some sort of feeback. Thank you.

okay that was a short teaser. I'll give you an arc-by-arc synopsis.

Revelations Arc- It is a war that has raged for over a million years. A queen bent on conquering everything leaves a wake of destruction and tyranny behind her. With 4 young men staying ahead of her armies to find home, knowing home will be the first and final line in this war. And to save the world, history must be rewritten with 4 young men lost to time upon the destruction of Silver Millennium fighting along the Sailor Senshi.

Alliance Arc- The war continues as Sailor Moon’s leadership is usurped by her brother. As the members of his court continue their attempts to forge a unified global military as alliances once secret begin to come to light.

Phoenix Arc- With his powers gone, Apollo, brother of the Serenity, struggles to deal with the loss of his other self. Knowing her greatest obstacle is gone, the conquering queen steps up her attacks. Sailor Moon struggles to maintain the war her brother so skillfully led, but it is a struggle that threatens to tear everything apart as the world falls to evil.

Rising Light Arc- Cut off from the rest of the world, with only Japan left in their control and the Senshi losing their powers one by one, the war changes from saving the planet to sheer survival. But there is a glimmer of hope that remains. To find the powers that predate the Senshi, powers so dangerous they were to remain hidden away for all of time.

Arc of the Angels- Forced off Earth, the war must continue from the Moon. And continue it does. With Apollo in command again, the alliances made over 1.6 million yrs will be called upon to take Earth back. And while Earth is taken back, things are in shambles. In the wake of the war, the Senshi, now known as the Silver Angels, take the lead in rebuilding Earth while defending against those factions that refuse to give up.

Diablo Arc- An old enemy returns out of the ashes of the dark queens palace on the planet of darkness. With the ability to rebuild the forces by using Earth’s population as raw materials, Apollo takes the fight to the Black Earth, leaving the Earth they protected to be defended by the United Global Defense Force. But the UGDF soon finds backup from the Angels.

Dark Reflections Arc- The Angels have returned home after a fearsome fight to find themselves facing down themselves. As the world struggles to figure out who is real and who are the imposters, the Angels soon find themselves public enemy number one, as a shrewd politician takes the reigns of the world unified by the Angels.

Rebellion Arc- With the governments of the world looking for the Angels and those that support them the Angels can only lay low and survive while trying to prove they aren’t the monsters the new government portrays them as. While evil continues to attack the Earth, led by an unknown enemy.

Incarnate Arc- I've said too much already. Sorry, but these must remain top secret.

Hellgate Arc- Too many things would be revealed with a synopsis.

Apocalyptica Arc- Didn't you see what I typed for Incarnate?

The Dead Wars- Okay fine I'll give you something, "Nobody talks about Fight Club".

Thanks.
The biggest hurdle that I see, isn't the one the one being pointed out by most at another forum. Their all bringing up Naoko Takeuchi. Yes, she is the creator. But she's also a businesswoman. With the revenue potential of this story, it's hard to say no to it.
Besides, I know if I were in her place and someone came to me after taking an idea that has developed a cult following and put in half as much work and effort into relaunching what I created, I'd be honored. And that would give them points right there towards me saying yes, let's do this.

Anyhow the biggest hurdle I see, is getting over the damage done by DiC and Cloverway and dispelling the "little girl's show" image. Even in Japan this will be a bit of an issue considering that I step up the intened age group a bit. Though I'm aiming for a TV-14 rating... There will undoubtedly be eps that will have to be edited to get it there or else I'll just accept a TV-M(ature) rating.

They pulled episodes because Sammy hit Luna or Usagi spanked ChibiUsa.
I cant remember Sammy's japanese name o__o

My only small irk with it is the idea of Serenity having a brother. In the first series, Serenity...wait, are we talking about the original Serenity, or Neo Queen Serenity? If this is about Usagi's mother (thus making Apollo her uncle) then it sounds fantastic. If its Usagi's brother (and would this be Sammy's 'reawakining?') then it wont go with the original series. Serenity sends off her daughter, the prince of the earth, and the senshi to earth (along with the guardian cats and Baryls army). Serenity appeared to Sailor Moon several times, and I think she wouldve mentioned a brother during one of those occasions...or Usagi herself wouldve wondered what happened to this brother of hers (seeing as how she remembered everything when she awoke as Princess Serenity in season 1).
But like I said before, if this is to be Usagi's uncle (and her mother's brother) then it would be really interesting to watch.
And its going to be TEN seasons??? Jeeze!!! Id watch all of it though ^___^
Btw, when you say youre going to add characters, does this include other senshi?

The retcon nicely brings Princess Serenity's broither into the picture. In the end it becoems clear why Queen Serenity, Luna, and Artimis never revealed his existance to the girls.

And yes I add Senshi, they aren't Sailor Senshi, but they are Senshi. As events turn into the Second Sailor War, Senshi from all over the universe begin appearing..and that's all I can say about the last four arcs. Because I've pulled out all the stops. Where the series had been driven by the war with the Black Earth, it soon changes into being driven by the characters' personalities, growth, and origins.

And yes, ten seasons. I've got 12 arcs planned within those 10 seasons. With additional arcs in series that parallel the main series.

As for eps getting pulled, that was because it was dubbed as a family show. This isn't going to be a kids show, so less will get pulled, if any.

ooooo, now Im itching to see why his idenity was hidden.
And I understand about the senshi thing. There was new senshi introduced in Sailor Stars, whom I think didnt get enough screen time, but ce-la-vie.
Do we get any insight on these new characters? Or even a number as to how many more there will be?

Sorry for my excitement. Ive been a big fan of the show for years, and the ending of it kinda depressed me. I wanted more!!! So its great to hear that there might be 10 more seasons. It would also be fantastic to see the girls develop more and more into the future selves portrayed in the R series. I loved seeing them older, but it was for such a short time!

It also sucked to see 5 seasons of Sailor Moon and find out they all only aged two years

I add 5 new heroes, all guys, plus new villains, lots and lots of new villains.
With a rich history to the fight between good an evil thrown in.

One of the core points of Sailor Moon is that its a group of all female heroes. That was a statement. They were women who fought for their planet, not women who were only some pathetic sidekicks or women who cried for the big brave strong man to save the day. Im not saying that your team of guys would put the senshi in that position, Im saying that Sailor Moon showcased butt kicking girls, and let the man take the back burner. I feel that adding a team of guys to Sailor Moon to fight alongside the senshi would completely destroy that "statement" that Sailor Moon has built and earned a reputation for.

Also, just because I want to point this out, if you look you'll notice that a lot of important characters in Sailor Moon are of female gender. The heroes are female. Three out of five of the "boss villains" of each season were female (Queen Beryl, Nehelenia, and Sailor Galaxia). You also may even count Mistress 9 along with them, as her important role in the S season sets her apart from any other non-boss villain. Four out of five of the runner up villains were female (The Four Phantom Sisters, The Witches 5, The Amazon Quartet, and the Sailor Animamates). Almost all of the monsters-of-the-day are female. And two out of the three villains of the movies were female (Snow Queen Kaguya and Queen Badiyanu). A very high majority of notable characters in Sailor Moon are female.

But as for why I dont like the idea of a team of guys, I covered that in my first paragraph.

I've tried to careful craft it so that none of the girls lose any of their thunder. In fact, more often then not the guys are protecting the girls because they know when the whip comes down it's the girls that'll have to save the world. Plus with the exception of one, they aren't focused on as Senshi and in the end it's the girls that end up saving him from what he's had to become.

I also know that not everyone is going to like the changes. But changes happen when a show is relaunched. And if those changes make for a great story, people will be attracted to it. The best example is when the majority of the comics we still have today from the 20's and 30's were revamped in the 50's then again in the 70's and 80's.

Well....it's a good idea and everything, but I don't really think Sailormoon should have a continuation. I think the ending was perfect, and I really can't see anything happening after that point. I also read a long time ago that Naoko was satisfied with the ending, and never planned to continue on with Sailormoon. Good luck though. : )

True as that may be we've had the continuation of the musicals and Pretty Guardian come out since that staement was made. In face Naoko worked on Pretty Guardian.

Here's an excerpt (a duplicate of the excerpt is in Breezy's thread):

The Angels of the Silver Crystal, led by Apollo, with the help of the United Global Defense Force are fighting off a Master Regiment of over 4000 enemy soldiers invading from the occupied Chinese mainland. Everyone is exhausted from the battle and the Angels have taken the brunt of the attacks, and drained as they are they press on. Two Great Shadows and a Master Youma break through and attack Eternal Sailor Moon. Several Youma and low ranking soldiers join the joint strike against her. The other forces can do little to help her as they themselves are inundated with opponents of their own. The power fed to the Youmas from the Black Crystal quickly overtakes her defenses as the radiation from it poisons her body.

Her Eternal Moon Compact begins to crack, with each crack a wall of energy following the contour of the crack shoots out vaporizing any foe caught in it’s destructive path. With each successive crack her body is wracked with pain as pink and silver energy explodes out from her chest in a shower of golden sparks. As energy begins to stream forth she doubles over right before her compact explodes. The shockwave of energy lifts her in the air and throws her backwards as the energy surges through the enemy troops and remaining structures taking out both.

White feathers and golden sparks trail behind her as pink energy ribbons flutter around her as her Eternal Fuku comes apart. She hits the ground mostly naked and bounces 150 feet, tumbling with each bounce, her limbs flailing like limp noodles. She slides to a stop with only a few energy ribbons around her, shattering before her clothes appear, torn and shredded, upon her body. The Angels who saw it pause in shock allowing their opponents, ironically protected from the surge by their own energy fields, to gain the upper hand. Tuxedo Kamen turns to run to his beloved, only to find blood erupt from his shoulder as it is pierced with an energy beam from a Dark Soldier who was out of range of the energy shockwave. Others descend upon the Angels.

Horrified onlookers that couldn’t be evacuated in time look at the broken and beaten Usagi, as the sparkle in her eyes fade with the last few sparks from her compact, as its shine too, fades while the pool of blood around her grows.

One mutters in shock, “My god…she’s only a kid…” He tries to go out but other onlookers hold him back saying it’s too dangerous. He screams, “I’ve got kids older then her, we can’t leave her out there.”

Enemies close in on the dying Usagi. As other onlookers look at Usagi and realize she is just a kid. They rush out, grabbing the weapons of the fallen UGDF soldiers they make their way to Usagi’s body and begin to pull her to safety as the Angels fall back.
