right now I have and use ps7 but when it comes to coloring images... well it sucks i need something simple, but alot better than just paint. Something that will give me a profisional look. what is a good program for coloring drawings and sketches before i load it to ps for other things.

photoshop is more than enough for coloring images. In fact, I think its the best. You just have to know how to use it properly

He means he doesn't understand how to use it properly. I made this sig with PS6.

As you can see, you just have to know how to use it. Try searching for good PS tutorials tto get you started. There is a section here that has them.

I actually reccomend Correl painter over photoshop if you want to actually recreate a painting look. As for vectoring and such, theres Adobe Illustrator...Of course, theres always Photoshop, or if you're one of the "WAH PHOTOSHOP COSTS MONEY SO IT'S A CRAPPY PROGRAM" people, get gimp.

Corel Painter is the best for coloring. Most of the brushes are based on real mediums, and look almost photo realistic.

i know how to us ps, i have been for a few years. I just think for painting, and coloring a pic its a little complicated. I use ps7 for every thing. just looking for some thing thats a bit easier and faster.

You could always try OpenCanvas. It's not free though. There's a trial, but if I recall correctly, when you use the trial after it expires you can no longer save (or is it during the trial?). I can't remember, but all the info you need should be here:

I always used Photoshop because of the layers, never tried the other ones.

But Photoshop is way expensive. If you are really good at coloring, you CAN use MS Paint. Or some kind of oketkei.. wait.. okeki... whatever, those free little plug-in's for message boards, that you can color on? You can usually save your work from that.

For a cheaper alternative, have you tried GIMP?

I prefer illustrator, but then again, I don't do coloring. ;) Most programs can color. The only difference is the layout and the feel of the commands. Test out some programs before settling on one.
