Alright, I'm rather content with the right half of the wallpaper, but the left half (the starfield) Seems lacking in something. Any ideas? Anyone?
Note: A majority of the starfield is one layer because of some...creation difficulties.

Adding Samus's starship on the left side wouldn't be a bad idea.

starfield is too busy and intense. Go look at real pictures of space, it needs to be randomized with large empty places.

Its too uniformly cluttered. Not a bad start!

Alright, now that I had time to actually get to the wallpaper.

Tried to find a decent 2-D stock of Samus' Gunship, but they were all too small.

As for the stars, Is this better? I just left the Nebula clouds and blurred them a bit, and removed a bunch of stars. From there I took Minako's advice and just...Followed it differently. Since creating an actual Nebula in a computer program is incredibly difficult, I took bits and peices from a photo of an actual nebula and intergrated it into my nebula. Basically making a new nebula. I also duplicated my original nebula first and played around with some distortion filters.

So this is what I have now. Still needs something. Also, should keep the nebula blending infront of Samus, or remove it?

take off the white layer stars, they look wierd

what tut did you use for the starfield. Take a look at Greg Martin's tutorial if you get a chance. He also has one for making a nebula

Really, since when do video games and realism match up? The first one was just fine, even if there's too many stars. It doesn't have to be a realistic depiction of what actual space looks like. I liked the first one more since the space wasn't bleeding into Samus. I actually think it's great.
