Why is thread so dead now DB and DBZ were great and still are animes(its another thing for DBGT), but i think we should keep this anime alive even if the creators are not.

It's a sad repetitive series that should have been over a long time ago. Yet, they are still making new episodes with pretty much the same thing happening over and over again. It was good up until the Cell Saga, which is when it should have been over.

Okay we'll agree to disagree

well the series is ok uptil the buu saga.gt was a bit of a waste..actually mr. toriyama didnt have much/any control over thr dbgt series...so the lack of plot and loopholes...the db series are not repititive just action packed....its been going strong for around 20 years...much more than most of the anime/manga series of the same timeline then...

it was good
it is old
the problems with tv are caused by people like you who cant let go of the fact that the show has reached its creative limit and needs to end before it becomes something of the likes of inuyasha
which is another good show until you realize everything is filler except every 15th episode
why do you think animes like trigun and cowboy bebop(yes i have very limited anime acess) are so good?
they were well planned and executed as was FLCL
most us shows are great but they go past their limit and then become bitter to me and anyone else who has brain cells to rub together

and the most likely reason that the forum for DB is dieing is because the majority of members have already discussed DB to their liking and have moved on with their own memories of DB

I'm sleepy so I'll keep it blunt...

Dragonball was charming.

Dragonball Z was pretty good until the Cell-ish era. Buu saga kind of dragged on. Good for a pure dosage of classic (if somewhat corny) fighting.

Dragonabal GT ... no comment.

The shows like die because viewers move on and generations find their own favored "classics". The threads slow down because all that's left to say about the series has been said tenfold.

If it's truly a classic and a memory, it will step aside but still remain a legend.

Then again maybe the show isn't anyone's cup of tea lately.

That is because Akira Toriyama was not involved with the production of DBGT. At that point, it was only fanservice.

The show was a legend, let's face it. It dragged on a lot and would become fairly predicable at times, but I still say its a decent show. The original Dragon Ball was better, but DBZ was good in its own right.
But the series is over a decade old at this point, so there really isn't much left to say about it.

My only complaint is how long it's been going on now. Right at the end of the Cell Saga was when the series should have ended, since it presented a perfect ending of the entire series. "Gohan kills the monster that was destined to kill all of his comrades in the near future, and Goku gave his life to assist him to the end." That would have been a perfect ending, but then they made the Buu series.

I never said the show was bad. Well, okay, I did say DBGT was bad, but only indirectly as I explained to Souhi that the creator of DB and DBZ was not involved in DBGT, and that caused a lot to be lost from the series.

Other than that, I really liked DB and DBZ, and I too believe that it should have ended after the Cell Saga. I think the Buu Saga I have a feeling that was made without much input from Toriyama, making it more of a precursor to DBGT.
Though I've grown out of the series, I still find it commendable. Even though I no longer watch the series, I still play the games (got Budokai Tenkaichi 2 for the Wii...just beat the Dead Zone Saga earlier tonight). If I found I box set of the series, it would be a definite grab, just to watch through the series again.

Dragonball is generally a bad anime. Any show, anime or not, that makes you wait a good three hours for the climax of the fight, is just so boring. People got distracted while waiting for said fight to finish, so they stopped watching it.

That would explain a lot. DBGT seems like a completely different show altogether.

And don't get me wrong either, Dragonball is one of my favorite shows to this day. DBZ is great too. It got me through grade school. Big explosions and noises, bad guy always gets defeated, cheesy humor etc. We can agree it was legendary, but at this point old and tired.

It'll always have place in this fanboy's heart. Let it fade away gracefully.

I don't think any anime good or bad can fade away gracefully when it's been dubbed to death and lost all meaning in an english translation. I think that for an anime to die gracefully, it should never be brought to the US.

I never liked shows that had guys bursting with muscle smacking each other across the screen while their hair sticks up, puzzling to any Physics scientists "how does it stay straight up yet he is flying across the screen to land a punch on that green dude?" they ask in wonder as the scratch their heads.

LOL it;s simple it's called Sci-fi/ Fantasy

but yeah i gotta admit i was a die hard DB/DBZ fan dbgt was ehh. not the best. got me through middle school and by the time I hit highschool i started looking into newer anime. I use to always watch teh oldschool anime (Mazinger Z, Megaman, Astro boy, Dragon Ball, and Sailor moon) then eventually moved on to Zoids, Cowboy bebob, etc. i mean dragon ball was great for a whow at it;s time but like said earlier. just gotta let it go everithing hits their creative limit. I can honestly see naruto go a bit longer but i don;t think it will last that much longer. (wonder if he is EVER going to do something with Hinata) but fsdnkjnkjasdkjbakj a yeah my .02 cents.

I think that was ostly DBZ and onwards. Dragonball had more plot to it, rather than just filelr fights.

the db series are a lot older than most of the anime series....the fact of the matter is that 15 years ago people wanted to see the action that is potrayed in db series relatively more....but I dont agree to the dragging of the dbz series...though dbgt was a bit of a waste since there was no concrete plot in the series...the buu series is quite good...it is integral as it showed vegets'a softer side...
and b.t.w.....Dragonball z is still till today one of the world's most popular series.....its fan following is much greater than most mordern day anime....remarkable acheivement for a series which is around about 15 years old...
