That last set you made is nice, but a lil squished together. The text is hard to read, espessially because it's effects on it.
Also; don't make sigs big in height, it just takes up a lot of space.
Anyways, I hope to see more! ^.^

Blue on the purple has a nice effect. It kinda looks bubbly and dark and the same time. I like it and the one above it gives me a good solution to whenever I feel like I need a hug.

You need to work with your extractions ... cuz most of chars in your sigs have all jagged lines.
Also, some signatures also have a bad quality image used o_o;

You can see such awesome improvements in every new sig you make!

I like the last 2 the most. :)

Any advice I could give would be:

-Choose backround colors that are of a similar shade to the image you are putting in the foreground-so they do not clash so much.

-Try and stay away from primary color backgrounds

-Always use high quality images in your sigs. No grainy, blurred, or, stretched images should be used. [Very important in overall appearance]

-Try and soften any rough edges. Everything should flow seamlessly.

That is about it! :D

I think you are already on your way to perfecting these effects anyway.

Pretty good. not much commentry I could give, considering my complete lack of skill in the visual arts, however I will say that your ability with the basic paint program is impressive and put to good use

my only problem is sometimes the font is hard to red either because it doesn't contrast enough with the background or its just bad font for its size

Wow pretty, the misty look and the glow go great together. It reminds me of remote viewing off of Psy Ops, but it's darker so it has a more mystic feel to it. It looks really cool.

About the one with the blue bg and the fog: I'd use another color for the border, maybe a reddish or pink color, like the dress from the character. That should work much better with the blue bg.

Your last one (the bright reddish / pink one) is really nice. It looks different than most normal sigs. But everything in it has very sharp borders (the chara and the lens flare effects). It looks a bit as if the contrast of a tv screen is set to high. Maybe try a blur filter on it on a very low setting or go over the edges with a blur brush.

Anyway, just my :twocents:.

By all means, I'm no expert on the matter. That's just what I would try. There are tons of people here who make much, much, much better walls, sigs and so on than me. I've not made many works myself that I am really satisfied with.

1st sig: Suggestion was to change border color to that similar of the dress.

The red border works much better. The new color still doesn't harmonize with the rest perfectly though. But I can't think of what could work better.

The pink one looks way better with the filter you used. With the sharp borders it looked somehow unfinished, but that's fixed now. I really like that one. The unique colourful style is really something.

The avy is quite nice.

On the sigs, I think you overdo it a tad with the blur effect on the text, it's a bit hard to read. And the rageling one could maybe use one or two more elements in it, maybe a few brush strokes or shapes ... but not to much.
Other than that, quite nice.

Politically incorrect but lovely, the background mixed with the image itself gives it a dark and depressing feel which I'm pretty sure is what your were going for. I see you've also used the transperent thingy on the edges.

He originally wanted Itaci's "Little World" as I call it, as a BG but I didn't like how it looked so I made a BG using the colors red and black instead so I could compramise.

I don't think you should have two people off on both ends. It doesn't look that good. The bg is really good though. The text font is not the best and the color seems a little too bright. The extractions don't seem to belong with the bg though. They sorta seem as if they were cut out of something else and glued onto another.

2nd to newest one:
The hanging girl extraction and image is of good quality. The background and the text don't go very well together though.

They look nice, all three of them.

I think the 3D effect on the avies is a bit strong though. I'd make the "sides" of the pyramide stump smaller, so that it doesn't overlap that much of the charas' faces. On the sig, the size is ok.
And I think that the color of the text is maybe a bit strong. Especially on the sig, I'd used a color more along the line of what's already used in it.

Nice concept.

The items in the bg have a very sharp border once again. That contrasts with the chara image, which is a bit blurred. How do you create them?
And I'm not sure that the black bg is a perfect idea with that source image. I'd have tried an image of a starlit night-sky for example.

Other than that, it looks good.

Hi Aura,

the Avy looks good. The transparency is a nice idea. The chara could use a bit cleaner extraction though. Nothing else to criticise there.

The sig isn't perfect yet. I think it is much too overloaded with contrasting pieces and themes. For starters, I'd drop one of the bg effects. I'd keep the orange one, it works better with the chara. To diversify it a bit you could add some effects to it. For example apply the cloud layer in the right as a layer mask to it, giving it varying transparency.
The effect around the chara looks a bit odd imo. I think you should tinker a bit more with it.
Lastly, I'd made the chara a tad bigger. (About so that the top of his hair barely touches the inner frame)
So, it's a nice start but could use some work still.

I couldn't decide what effects to use so I made a base sig and then used different effects on it.

Of the 3 variants of the sig you posted yesterday, I like the first best.
The filter on the second is nice, but I don't think such filters work well on the main chara. I usually only use them on the bg, keeping the main chara mainly undisturbed.
The colour and style of the third one don't match my taste.

Of your newest set, the avy is quite nice. The chara and text are a bit too crisp and sharp once again though.
The sig is nice too, but I'd have made the chara a tad brighter.

Yey! I'm finally here to comment ya, my friend!

Well, after looking around your thread, I noticed that your style changed. I noticed it mostly on the avies since your past avies have quite the same style; such as the part where you round the stock up with white and leave the center transparent for the image to be seen.

Yes, these changes fit well and they made your sets better. I like them overall.

Now, now. I'll focus my comments on the latest. THe one for FMA997. First off, the quality is fine but not that excellent. The colors match the image and I like the effect you gave it. The BG is simple but I love the color blending and the style.

Maybe you could try giving effects to the avatar that it may not look like just cut out from the sig. Maybe give it a little more dark effect or whatever you like. You know, stretch out your imagination!

The text on both the sig and avi are readable and fine but I'm not so in with the text placement and font as well as the color. But in any case, the color is fine. You might as well try to give life to the text so that it will not look dry and almost like it serves no purpose. Give it a little life and so.

Again I repeat, the quality is fine, the size of the image is fine, the style is good and the effects on the image is nice, the BG is simple but great, but, experiment more and give your graphics more life and so. But overall, I think your sets are great!

The style is really good and I love your design. The font quite fits the theme and I love the colors. The stock might be quite pixilated, though. But I'm not really sure if you did it on purpose. Other than that, effects, lighting, colors and blending are great!
