Hello i need some recommendations.

of course it has to have romance in it =]. But what i'm looking for is a beautiful film. Something like school rumble, ouran high school host club, aishiteruze baby, suzuka etc. Mostly looks. For some reason i find it hard to watch a anime with awful looking characters even if the story line is is DA bomb.[example]-Inuyasha (Their hair style gotta go. I did not dare to watch), Saikano(the dude looks weird and not hot) etc.

I know you've probably never heard of these anime, but they are VERY GOOD, and quite cute as well. These two are definitely at the top of my favorites list! Now I'm not gonna give you the summaries, because I don't want to ruin anything. But these two animes are BRILLIANT. They don't have fighting mechas or superpowers, and they're not TOO romantic, like hentai or anything. They're just beautiful stories. PERFECT!

Hotori: Tada Saiwai wo Koinegau- This is only 40 minutes long. You can watch it on YouTube.

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora- This is only 6 episodes long. You can watch it on YouTube.

So I loved Ouran High School Host club, adored Fruits baskets, and full moon. I was wondering if you guys can recommend other shows in this genre that are possibly similar to these in style of animation.

Maybe even unlicensed ones that I may be able to find fansubs? but always looking for suggestions for the next dvd purchase

Well, I really enjoyed Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, and Utawarerumono.
The connection between Sakura, and Syaoran in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles was presented beautifully, and for Utawarerumono the connection between Eruruu, and Hakuoro was very touching as well.- Both are Fantasy/Romance/Drama-like animes, and I would highly recommend them to anyone, for they are great series! Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles is a bit long, but has a great story line! Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles has 52 episodes, where as Utawarerumono is a bit shorter, with only 26 episodes.

If you like shounen-ai then go find Loveless or Gravitation at the nearest store near you!....Or you can just go to Youtube. There's also one called Earthian but I'm not sure if it's romance, but it's shounen-ai so I'm pretty sure it is. But I recomend all!

No one has mentioned Alice19th. I think that's pretty interesting. Typical love triangles, sisters turning on each other over a guy, the guy who doesn't get the girl because she's busy drooling over her sister's boyfriend and has a picture of him secretly. What's not to love? (Rhetoric.)

I like school-life romance anime's, can be a harem.

The one's i've seen so far are IChigo 100%, Suzuka, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Shuffle and im am right now watching Kanon2006. I loved Shuffle! and Suzuka, they were my 2 favorites so can some1 give me a list of anime's that are similar to it ?

And also....is Kanon relly good? cuz all the females look like 10 year olds...with big SHINEY eyes..and they supose to be in highschool.

Chobits, Onegai Teacher, Onegai Twins, Da Capo were all school anime in the characters attended school. They don't only focus on the school though.

Maburaho takes place in a special magic school, definately not normal though.

Kare Kano might be what you're looking for.

I was gonna recommend Air if you hadn't seen it, but in no way can it's ending be construed as happy... maybe you could consider it hopeful at best. Still for anyone that hasn't seen Air I would highly recommend it... I found the story it told very moving and not like any manga or anime I had come across before.

I need recommendations as well, I've watched a couple of shounen-ai animes - such as; Loveless, Gravitation, FAKE. I'm looking along the lines of deep, well-plotted shounen-ai that isn't excused as a slashable and is well rounded. I don't enjoy pointless yaoi either.

Tsubasa RESERVoir Chronicle is a must read. The manga is full of the angst relationships between each member of the feather-hunting team. Fai and Kurogane are in constant pain with one and other, yet the romance between Sakura and Syaoran is just heart-breaking.

If you like action between main characters and what not, I suggest Paradise Kiss and Nana.

I wasnt sure if i liked the animation style at first, but I grew to really like it - and the great thing is - no filler episodes.

Maison Ikkoku is a good one, Viz finally finished the DVD box sets.
It is probably as a complete romance as you will find from the meeting, love triangle both ways, misunderstandings and some good comedy, as well as a decent closing to the series. It is 96 episodes but it is worth watching.
Also Kimagure Orange Road is a good one as well.

Final Approach is a pretty good short. I think there are 13 episodes. Each are like 15 minutes

Zero no Tsukaima: has its share of action and drama, but still a happy ending

Shakugan no Shana: not as dark as you would think it would be, great, great story

Yoake Mae yori Ruri Iro na: YESS! An anime with a happy ending! Good drawing, nice storyline, its also funny. MUST WATCH. Pairing is Moon princess & Human highschooler. Set in future


Zero no Tsukaima and Shakugan no Shana both have the male and female leads voiced by corresponding actors XD

Edit: Maburaho and Elemental Gelade are pretty good as well

Tokio: Ayashi no Ceres (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceres,_Celestial_Legend) is pretty horribly depressing. Both the anime and manga are. The manga runs only a few volumes, but the anime runs twenty-four episodes. The entire thing is actually one large, tragic love story.

Zero no Tsukaima is pretty fitting. It has a real story, but the characters tend to flirt a bit more.

Shakugan no Shana is pretty depressing at times, but it has a happy ending.

hey. to all those looking for a romantic comedy anime, here are a few that i have watched:

fushigi yuugi (more on the romantic side though but still funny!)
ouran high school host club (very funny! =])
school rumble (more funny than romantic... but still very cute!)
kare kano/ his and her circumstances (just a perfect balance of humour and romance, i think!! :))

Yep, I'd recommend Kare Kano as well. It has you rolling on the floor holding your sides one minute (its so funny) and then reaching for the kleenex the next because its so beautifully, heartwarmingly romantic.

There's a moderate amount of angst involved too with one character having a pretty dark twisted background/childhood.

There is a lovemaking scene in it but its completely abstracted (which I think works better) but the lead up to the love scene is so strongly charged with emotions and love and pheromones its wonderful.

ehh happy ending? do you like animes with adventure and romance? i got a few...

- Elemental gelade, its a good story, but it sounds kinda weird... you will get use to it. It has romance, action, adventure, and comedy all together... 26 episodes. I recommend this one! oh and it has a happy ending

- Fushigi Yuugi, this one is one of the feudal type animes, its in feudal China Its not the kinda drawing i like, but the story is good... there may be really depressing times in this anime, but it has a happy ending.

- Romeo x Juliet, this one is still is on going... if you're not the kinda person to wait for each episodes to go on Veoh.com then wait until the series is over then watch it! i recommend this one! not so sure about the ending yet.. but it seems like its gonna be happy!

- Tsubasa Chronicle, is more on the adventure side... there is romance though... i think this ones on its third season?? well anyways its a good story, there are characters from Chobits, Cardcaptor Sakura, and xxxholic. If you look this anime up in Animenewsnetwork.com to see what its about and stuff you have to look up Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE. Its 52+ episodes.. the + is showing that the series is not done yet. This one is good too! Since it is ongoing im not so sure about the ending... it seems like it will be happy!

Ah! My Goddess was really good. The romance between Belldandy and Keiichi was rather shallow but some of the episodes were so cute! Especially between Skuld and Sentaro, and between little Urd and Shohei.

The best romance is probably Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien. The best part was when Akane read aloud the fairy tale, it made me want to cry.

Romance anime...I've seen little that do much for me. Love Hina MANGA was aight, Ichigo 100% manga was great, but the anime counterparts weren't so good...


I hate romance anime where there's no definitive ending, like...no make out scene or whatever and you're left with like "are they together are they not?" feeling. It ticks me off and I hate anime like that. So please, if you reccomend one to me, get me one with a good ending.

Good definate endings? I got a few.

Gift ~eternal rainbow~ - Set in a town where an eternal rainbow hangs over it's denizens and grants them the gift of magic in which when two hearts are one, anything the Giver wishes for will come to pass. Haruhiko Amami faces an emotional struggle when his non-related foster sister Riko Fukumine returns to his town after many years of seperation. A tangle of crushes and hopes also serve to compound matters further. This can depressing at times... but it has a happy ending and they get together before the end. Its 12 episodes long.

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora - During the winter, Yuichi was hospitalized due to hepatitis. Randomly he would try to escape from the hospital but would get beat up by the nurse. One day, he happened to meet Rika, a girl of his age, in the next building. He was fascinated by her beauty, but she was very selfish girl. Although she led him by the nose, he began to be attracted by her. However, when Rika told him about her illness, he knew why she acted so selfish; she didn't have long to live. This definatey has a happy ending, and it shows a great picture at the end... you will know what im talking about when you finish watching. sadly, its only 6 episodes long, but worth it.

Okusama wa Joshikousei - Asami Onohara is a seventeen-year old high-school student with a secret which has not been revealed to anyone: She is already married. Her husband, Kyosuke Ichimaru, is a Physics teacher in the same high school as her. However, even though they are officially a married couple, Asami's father forbids them to have any sexual contact until after Asami has graduated. Asami has to hide the fact that she is married to Kyosuke while trying desperately to further their relationship, and it does not help when there are so many interferences and obstacles from her father and other third parties. Yes, happy ending. 26 episodes.

Okay, here are some of the romance animes i reccomend.
Lovely Complex~Its a must see but its still ongoing so not all of the episodes are out and subbed.
Kodocha~Kodocha is my favorite romance and its a comedy too. Its 102 episodes long but well worth it.
Pita-Ten~Most ppl wouldnt consider this romance but i sure do, and its cute.
Ai Yori Aoshi~the first couple of episodes are romantic but the rest there may be a few romantic scenes here and there but good nonetheless
Midori Days~at first i thought it was a little weird but i liked it, the ending wasn't so great but a good anime overall.
Bokura Ga Ita~GREAT ANIME! it made me cry alot! the artist did kinda get lazy when it came to drawing characters though. watch it, and you'll understand.
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien~This anime rite here, it'll make you cry, angry, and heartbroken. A definite must see, it more of a drama/tragedy romance though.
Please Teacher~I hesitated to watch this anime but im glad i did. you'll really enjoy it.
Please Twins~This is supposedly the sequel to Please Teacher but it has its own plot. Still just as good though.
Girls Bravo~Its more of a hentai romance but it kept me interested.
This Ugly Yet Beautiful World~Very cute and a nice ending, not what i expected the ending to be like, but still nice.
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora~Its only 6 episodes but it has a great plot and you wont be sorry you watched it.
Rizelmine~Its a good 1 too that ppl fail to mention

well I think three really good romance anime's are: sailor moon, ayashi no ceres and fushigi yuugi ^-^ I love Ayashi no Ceres though...the plot of their romance goes trought twista and becomes stronger...hard to explain without spoilers though >.< Yeah those three are in my opinion ^-^

Kamichama Karin- More of a magical Anime but also has Romance in it.

Ultra Maniac- Also Magical but has alotta Romance in it, that is the genre for that Anime it is considered both.

Momette! Lollipop- From what I have seen it is a Romance-ish Anime, it is really cute and funny from the looks of it.

Tusbasa- It has alotta fantasy like things in it, but it has some romance, it really keeps you hooked if you ask me, once you start watching it you relize the romance. That is just my opinion though some others my not think so....

Bokura Ga Ita is nothing on Lovely Complex. LC has better art (Hated BGI's art *shudders* Guys didn't know how to do portrait faces*) it has WAY more comedy than BGI, and it's a completly different plot.

I suggest Milk Crown and all it's sequels to people who like a bit of action with a lot of mush. :3 It's very very cute.

so i finished watching Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and the ending was a little confusing for me at least, so if anyone who has seen this anime could explain the ending further?? cause what i think that happend is that Takayuki becomes the employe of whatever company, Haruka becomes a picture artist or something of the sort but what throws me off is what happends with Mitsuki in the end she is crying..so is she crying because harukas sister became what she could not or because shes no longer going out with Takayuki?? if some one would answer me that i would be happy to read it thx for ur time

aww! im the 101st post... but technically im the 100th post not including piper!! oh and to answer your question, i think that Haruka becomes a children's book writer and drawer, AND she married someone because notice how her last name is now Murakami instead of Suzumiya on the book she made! Mitsuki i think was crying becuase she was happy becuase she was kinda smiling and she still has the ring. i think she was crying cause she saw the book and the newspaper, and was happy for them! My guess is that Mitsuki probably got married to Takayuki or at least live together cause they moved out of the run down apartment. I watched the ending while i was typing this so i think i am mostly right. :)

For tragic romance, Kannazuki no Miko, or Yami to Boshi to Hon no Tabibito. Both are somewhat adult though, so be forewarned.

Kashimashi is an adorable love triangle series, and I actually enjoyed the ending.

AIR has gorgeous art but a sadder ending.

For action with romance, I highly recommend Mai HiME and/or Mai Otome. It's magical girl meets mecha.

Good fantasy series, I've seen others mention some of my faves: Romeo x Juliet, Tsubasa and Fushigi Yuugi. I've only seen a handful of Romeo x Juliet episodes but I'm already hooked!

For magical girl, Ah My Goddess is very sweet. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is wonderfully angsty but still has a great ending. Full Moon wo Sagashite seems along the same lines (it's by the same person) but I haven't seen much of it yet.

For something completely insane but good, try the Utena movie. It's also more adult, but you'll either be scared off by how insane it is or watch it again and again trying to understand it. ;)

And Sailor Moon starts off somewhat childish, but it gets really good in the later seasons and there's definitely romance there.

Its a total lovey dovey romance with a lot of sad scenes and a little comedy, but the main focus is love which i love ^_^ Lots of kissing and teenage love triangles is always good too <3

oh god i had to read this a few times lol :) ummm your question is kinda hard to answer... AHH I CANT THINK OF ANY!!!! when u say real life, can there be some magic like Midori no Hibi or the old kind of looking anime like Kare Kano? You might like Welcome to the NHK, but it revolves around college and high school ppl, and you they dont actually kiss and stuff, but tend to flirt around a bit. Maybe REC is good for you, cause its like real life except that it revolves around college graduates. Gift ~eternal rainbow~ has magic but is really good. The ppl in this anime are around high school im pretty sure. There is no "old like" anime style in this, so it looks very smooth. (you might of already seen all of these lol)

Peach Girl...I saw the first 3 episodes...and it just seems liek a typical high school romance...but me saying that without having watched it all has no merit...and is just based on those 3 episodes...and im still considering wether to finish it...it almost seems like Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien or School Days (hoping its without that kind of end lol)...but iono...is it?

o and as far as a reccomendation Georgia...uuuh i dunno what your taste are...but if its based on Peach Girl(which ive only seen the first 5 eps?)...errrrr lol you COULD try Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien its pretty Tragic, with plenty of Drama and Romance...and this is your warning to watch School Days at your discresion...eheh you have been warned -.-, and thats got Drama and Romance too...

and as far as a reccomendation taht I would make jus as a reccomendation...take a look at Kanon(2006) and Air...theyre both short and sweet and great animes to start off...and when your taste for romance anime is honed u can take a look at Zero No Tsukaima and Full Moon Wo Sagashite! they're great romance animes overall!

and that list above us by jplaya has some great romance animes included from the reccomendations i gave you as well!

i just saw an anime called Nanatsuiro Drops and it was kinda like Cardcaptor Sakura except only 12 epsiodes and A LOT more romance... not the ecchi kind of romance but the nice one that doesnt involve sex :) its kinda sad at times but has a nice ending to it :) i would really recommend this one to both boys and girls

Edit: I also just saw Happiness! , this is a like Nanatsuiro Drops except it has less romance and more magic.

After reading this manga. I found myself smiling, and hoping that it doesn't finish at all. It was incredibly sweet. Though the age of the couple is rather complicated.

I'm currently reading this one. And I can't help myself but to enjoy the comedic moments.

I have read this mangas which I recommend. I hope I may be able to help those who wants some recommendation. I know more mangas, especially one shots that only consists of one chapter or one volume. But I'm too lazy to write more, so maybe next time.

I also recommend reading Fruits Basket, Ouran, and Perfect Girl Evolution. They also have Anime adaptation but Manga is still the best since the story is absolutely complete!

Hmm... the series you gave are all very different.

If you liked the drama in Bokura ga Ita, check out Peach Girl. The story is centered around a love triangle- two guys in love with one girl.

If you liked the humor in LoveCom, take a look at Midori no Hibi (Midori Days). This series is very cute and very funny- it's about a boy who wakes up one morning to find a girl has become his right hand.

If you liked the "cuteness" aspects of Aishiteruze Baby, watch Kodomo no Omocha (Kodocha). It's a story about two elementary school kids in love, and it's tons of fun to watch!

I haven't seen Ultra Maniac, but I believe the person who wrote the Ultra Maniac manga also wrote the Marmalade Boy manga, so the art is likely to be similar. Marmalade Boy is heavy on the drama, like Peach Girl, but it's a very cute love story.

Hmm...Do you mind if it's Shoujo?

If you don't mind Shoujo, take a look at Bokura Ga Ita and Peach Girl.

In Bokura Ga Ita, the main couple gets together in a few short episodes. (but I warn you, it's very dramatic).

In Peach Girl, the relationships progress so fast, you won't know what hit you! FYI it's a love triangle story and Momo-chan (the protagonist) spends lots of time developing her relationships with both guys.

After looking at the descriptions of School Days, Bokura Ga Ita and Peach Girl, they all look like love-triangles, which isn't exactly what I'm looking for. I'm thinking more along the lines of Kare Kano with more intimacy and a much better ending ^_^ (Note: I'm about to start the KK manga)

Bokura Ga Ita definitely looks interesting so I'll check it out, but it seems a little different than what I'm looking for currently.

No love triangles? That's a tough one. (Is it just me or are most romance anime love triangle-related?)

I want to reccomend Lovely Complex, (the main couple is very clear) but around half of the series is spent with the main couple "dancing around" each other. Some people REALLY love this one though (probably because there is little drama and no love triangles hehe). The ending is good to boot.

Also, consider Kodomo no Omocha. While the anime is more centered around comedy, the romance story is great. Still, I can't recommend this one with full confidence. Kodocha is about elementary school kids in love, so one-sided kissing is all the "action" you will get to see. (Unless you read the manga) Also, there are love triangle elements, but that comes much later in the series, and only for a bit. The main couple is obvious.

Story
Vampire Knight mostly takes place in Cross Academy, a prestigious private school with an unusual class structure. I would recommend Full Moon o Sagashite (if you haven't already seen it). Here's why:

Kodocha and Full Moon are cute, romantic stories about one girl chasing her dreams. Both contain elements of stardom, unrequited love, and melodrama. Most importantly, each show explores the idea of very young (we're talking elementary school) girls in love. Kodocha's Sana and Full Moon's Mitsuki are very strong protagonists, because they are easily likable: both are hardworking, passionate, and neither girl lets fame go to her head.

Hot Gimmick was pretty good...until the last two volumes. I still recommend this one though- it was quite addictive.

S.A (Special A) is an excellent school romance/comedy manga, and an anime adaptation is being created right now. The anime will be out this year!!

I didn't read all the posts but I noticed no one mentioned Welcome to the NHK. It has romance knitted in there. I would say its a psychological comedy romance show. Also Zegapain has romance in there and its a mecha romance show. Also Honey Clover, its all about love triangles and such and it has a pretty cool art style that is pretty different.

-Dakedo Paradise [a typical story of a girl who applies as a household keeper, since her dad left her alone]
-Punch! [I think this one is still ongoing but, it's pretty good.]
-Yume Kira Dream Shoppe [A shop consisting of a shop owner who grants wishes in exchange something dear to you and a plushie named Alpha.]

I would recommend you all check out H2O footprints in the sand, I was addicted after the first episode! It just keeps you guessing and is still Airing. Also a MUST watch would have to be Spice and Wolf another anime that is still airing anyone and everyone will love it!

If you love dragons, mecha fights, and romance check out Dragonaught the Resonance.

And for those of you who just plain like romance anime with magic mixed in check out Inukami, the romance isnt prominent in the series but when it shows its good.

Also Airing in April will be To-Love-Ru anime! For all those to-love-ru manga fans.

And Aikako I hope your right about the Vampire Knight, I love the manga and would think it amazing to see it as an anime

Anyone wanna tell me about the Step Up Love Story Futari H.? I saw it in the store and it sounded interesting. Young married couple (both virgins) inexperienced at sex keeps trying to make romantic moments and it all goes wrong in embarrassing ways cause of embarassing moments with family, coworkers and all that. Supposed to be a romantic comedy/softcore or something.

Iketeru Futari((ecchi+romance+comedy)only 16x5mins per episodes...but its honto worth watching)
dragonaut the resonance(that heroine is a goddes,even if the story isnt that good,that girl they painted there makes up for it all)

I see... Well then i don't know if i will watch it because the art is a little old and honestly it's not easy for me to see old art like that even if the story is good. I'll think about it, but anyway i am thankfull for your answer.

There is no second season. It was just canceled. I wish they would finish it too but it doesn't look like that is gonna happen. Supposedly budget issues or something but the manga has an ending!!

So I loved Ouran High School Host club, adored Fruits baskets, and full moon. I was wondering if you guys can recommend other shows in this genre that are possibly similar to these in style of animation.

Maybe even unlicensed ones that I may be able to find fansubs? but always looking for suggestions for the next dvd purchase

ultra maniac: nina sakura is a new transfer student who tell's her deepest secret to ayu the school's most popular girl. the secret? she's a witch! because of the newfound friendship ayu's life goes from great to chaotic! as ayu tries to get the man of her dreams nina is bound and determined to use her magic to help only problem: nina is a magic school drop-out! how will this crazy adventure turn out?


i should never do that ^^ but those are pretty much the descriptions of the first books ^^ i love them and i've only read the second one to ultra maniac but the stories are layed out nicely and they don't stray to far from the plot

OK, I just recently watched two great anime series Strawberry PAnic! and Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru. There both from 2006. Any1 who has seen either and knows of a newer show like them and liked them please let me know Iv'e done alot of searching but i just cant seem to find any other anime with Love stories as rich and touching as these.
