(Request) how to get new brushes for GIMP

ok, i really am hoping theres a way to get brushes for GIMP, i just got the program officially (as in not using my brothers) and i want some new brushes.

My recommendation to you is you do a search on Google for GIMP brushes. :D If that doesn't rouse any results that you prefer, I would recommend going onto DeviantArt.com as they hold a lot of brushes as well.

And still if that doesn't work, many many brush makers upload the image form of their brushes so other users like GIMP and PSP specifically, can take the images and transform into brushes in their respective programs.

Try those, and if you have problems finding those even, don't hesitate to PM me. This seems like an Uploads question to me, and that's my homebase. =D I would be more than happy to help you. :)

I can just suggest to do a search on Deviant Art, with the keyword: Gimpbrushes
*installation instructions: extract to "C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\brushes
It worked perfectly for me.

fencepost converted a lot of PS brushes to gimp. Most can be found at deviantart.

YES! I FELLOW GIMP USER! Okay, i have the perfect page for you. I found a Deviantart page that has maybe over 20 or 30 Gimp Brush sets. and alot of tutorials. So i hope it helps cause it helped my alot! o.O

In the AW forum there were a lot of tutorials for Gimp at one time, but I'm not sure if there were brushes posted. It may be worth a look.
