Hey everyone! Your fresh new mod Thornwillow here to bring you some fun tutorials so you all can make your very own brush sets and well ... donate them to us! http://www.animegalleries.net/bbs/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Uploads doesn't really get a lot of attention right now, but I am hoping to change that.
So come one and come all! Upload your brush sets please and I made a tutorial for you to make that easier. It is below. Now it's very basic, but hopefully it'll help most of you who had no idea.
Also, if there is any typos or something is unclear, please please please let me know so I can fix the tutorial. That's why I save my PSDs. So enjoy! ^_^

I did a simple brush, just to see how to do it. Here it is:

Thanks for the tutorial, I will post a better brush next time.
(Note: BW stands for BlackWolf)
EDIT: Here is a paintbrush I made using a picture of a gyroid from Animal Crossing:

I know you use Adobe Photoshop Maru, so to answer your question ... (and anyone else who is curious)
I would assume you have a Zipping program of some sort. Whether it be Winzip or Winrar. What you do is after you create your brush in photoshop, it saves it, by default, in the brush presets folder. You can find it in the following location, depending if you run an XP version of windows --
Brush Preset Path
My Computer --> Local Disk [C:] --> Program Files --> Adobe --> Photoshop CS/CS2/7 (whichever folder of the version you currently use) --> Presets --> Brushes.
Then you just look for your .abr file format set of brushes and open it in your zipping program. Zip the file up and you can upload it through AF's 'Manage Attachments' option. Which is what Ookami did for hers.
If you still have problems with that, you can always upload your brushes your DeviantArt and link them in the post here. So hopefully that helps. ^_^

If you want to learn how to draw manga 'stuff', then I recommend doing a search on Google, or search engine of your choice, to help find tutorials on drawing manga. This section of AF is for uploads only, and we only provide resources to the graphic designers of AnimeForum.

Funny thing is...I used basically all of the same steps, and managed to learn how to make brushes in Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8... O.o;

The tutorial was designed for people to use it in photoshop, yes because that is the only program I typically use. But as Chimes said above you, he followed the same steps and made brushes in PSP, so I guess it's possible to follow the same principal steps and make brushes in other programs.
I'm only familiar with Photoshop Interface. :)

Or you could just save the image as .gbr file. Just put it as shown. Except you might want to save it to one of your brush directories...mine just happens to be in My Pictures. ^_^

I didn't see this covered anywhere, but how do you make a brush set for someone to download (e.g. like making a brush set downloadable on a graphics site). I feel really lame asking this question, so no flames from the peanut gallery, plz. Kthnx.
