Let see now... since it will be directed by Mr. Fukuda and how the disappointed of SEED Destiny outcome and its redundant Final PLUS it's, I think it's another scheme to miked out the Gundam TV franchise especially CE era. Yet, there's not much story development after Destiny to go around with and I reckon it gonna use the same story template all over again.

Unless they introduce a new face as a new main character or take the series to a different perspective, it's gonna be mecha-beat-the-crap-out-themselves, SEED-vs.-Newtype and Natural-vs.-Coordinator affair.

Probably. I heard that they're re-using characters in the Seed movie, so they probably won't make the movie in another perspective.

Pun intended. Would be nice if they make the Gundam storyline more darker and changed their focus group to more mature audiences. For once, making a Gundam series not just in the sake of marketing franchise and just to please the mediocre audience and rating?

That's an idea. Do you mean a darker storyline as in, well, something much more serious, and not just a superhero story (like Gundam Seed Destiny)? Then maybe a more mature movie overall?

What I had in mind is, make the main character an anti-hero or the main character age is like 20++ and deal problems and dilemmas faces by an adult. Most of the Gundam series make their main character in age between 15 -18 years old and most of them either enrage with hormones and emotional unstable at first. I think it have been over -used and they REALLY need to come out something fresh.

I like SEED better than Destiny as it has values and reflects the problems any teenager has. Friendship torn by war and ideology, manipulating someone for your personal agenda and such. As for Destiny, the first half of the series is ok, but when they put Kira in, it becomes a conflict of who will be the main character, also Shinn character development sort similar to Anakin Skywalker turned into Darth Vader. And the poor kid being used by Gilbert as a tool to achieve his hidden agenda and Rey acknowledge Shinn's action as the RIGHT one and protecting him from other point of views that might deviant Shinn from Rey's preferred path.

I would like to join in the gundam destiny discussion but it has not come to america yet. Anyway they should make a story more military and not make the gundams to dressed up. More like a better version of the 08th gundam series.

Oh yeah are they going to make another gundam series that isn't the Seed or Destiny?

I've heard rumors 'bout they gonna make the third CE installment entitle, "Eternity" back in 2004 after they finished airing Destiny in Japan. Not much info after that since they been busy with Stargazer and production of the SEED the movie (not to be mistaken with SEED Special).

Yeah, I need to watch more on UC timeline Gundam as it's where all the Gundam began. Only two titles I've watched, Char's Counterattack and Gundam F-91. I prefer Char's Counterattack better.

Hmm... I searched "Gundam Seed Eternity" on Google, and some sites said that the rumor was fake.
Even if Eternity existed, the producers probably wouldn't have time to work on it right now, seeing as you pointed out earlier, they're focusing on the Gundam Seed movie.

Oh ya... not forgetting the production of Seed Stargazer & Astray.

I heard from a friend that T.M. Revolution would be in the main VA cast in Astray as Miguel...

Well anyway... Seed movie, Stargazer (only 1-3 still), Astray (coming soon)... I guess they do have plenty of script writers to plan out the story for C.E. ever since Seed stirs up the Gundam 'fever'.

If you ask me SeeD just give something that was missed from the other Gundam series. After Gundam Wing the next series looked pale in comparison with the previous series. Although SeeD is dubbed "The Ultimate Copy Cat" of the Gundam Franchise, I think it's still innovative and brings out the essence of what a gundam series should be. PLAIN KILLING SPREE WEEEEEEEE...!!!

Like what Tomino always wanted... remember V Gundam... Hmmm... so many killings....

Normally, I would say that it is a re-hash of the series (ala Zeta movies) but I am not sure. All I personally hope for coming out of the movie is that there is not some crushing death of a main character. For me, it would be disastrous if, like, Lacus or Kira died, after surviving 2 separate wars. As for future Gundam series, I can see them doing something like they did with the UC timeline (Gundam, then Zeta, then ZZ) so it will likely be set a few years after Destiny, maybe Kira finally gets to live peaceful life with Lacus, and Shinn gets to mentor the new protagonist (just entirely my thoughts, though).

Are you sure it is the next chapter of CE Universe? Can you prove it to us with at least official news of it? It's a 50-50 chance that it will turn to emotional unstable teenage bishies piloting 100-foot accidentally found/stolen/abandoned experimental mecha affair or otherwise.

Then again, Mainstream audience like series with typical genre and plot with a bit of twist because they can able to digest and follow story through; Gundam Franchise is not excluded.

Dont think so...
They still can make Einstein relativity theory as the reson, but you must make something better then any gundam flagship. it must pluged with light speed buster and device and device wich can change us feom a partikel form to wave form wich make it possible to do a time jump. even it was hard top create and the tour wont be save anymore
light speed can hange the time, shape, potition, and well if tere isnt any savety device our body wont return to our original form in other world we will become a wave and cant return to partikel form....

If they gonna make two or more different timeline interact, they gonna do sort like this film (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Generations), I reckoned.

The actual running length for each episode in Stargazer is 17 minutes. Like Astray MSV, Stargazer serve as both EAF part of story in Destiny as well sort of promo for the new side-story manga: Gundam SEED C.E.73 DELTA ASTRAY.

Basically, it tells the events happens during the aftermath of the fall of Junius Seven on EAF side, events before the Berlin massacre aka protecting landship carrying Destroy Gundam (with brief cameo of Neo and the surviving Extended pilots) and EAF attempts to acquired Stargazer.

The first two episodes is quite ok since the cast of characters doesn't includes Anakin-esque both emotional and sense of justice aspects and all are in adult ages. It also includes a 5 mins flashback of what made the main character (Sven) to be in the Stargazer. Few things I'm annoyed with this series: yes, it short but at least it has some flow in the storyline. The ending it's a bit cliffhanger, since we don't know what really happened to both of the main characters (Yes, it involved a Natural and a Coordinator).

My final say, it's a good story, just the ending is a bit typical.

hmm a gundam seed movie? when is it coming out? i liked seed but destiny was really bland, like a bad excuse for a sequel. It lacked depth and a good storyline... more like fan service for GS =( Hopefully in the movie they could stop re-using fight scenes, character faces (most of the main characters have the same face with different hairstyles), and most importantly... not have kira steal the limelight AGAIN.

The GSD movie supposed to be out this year or next. Kira, Athuran, and Shin are FAITH members in the movie. According to Houko Kuwashima, Stellar (and Fllay's) seiyuu, Stellar will have a role somehow.

Nah not too complicated at all.. And it's generally known that you should watch every episode, or at least read an episode summery.

It's more a matter of knowing such and such events that've happened in the previous episode.

Typically, in this great shounen (mostly) mecha saga, the protagonist will triumph over the antagonist in the end; regardless whatever the faction he/she aligned to (mostly, the one with white-blue-red-a bit of yellow Gundam colour scheme if there are more than one Gundam present in the series). What's matter most is what's in the between. It can be adaption of previous series or total new one.

However, most of today's long series anime have episodes dedicate on a character or re-cap, which some of them can be skip and you wouldn't missing anything if miss an episode or two. As for politics, use your imagination to fill in the blanks and most probably they will return to the topic in many episodes to come (it will be a challenge for those who are just for the mecha/girls/boys/etc, not the whole package).

i haven't seen every gundam series but the ones i have seen are awesome, well with the exception of that lame excuse of a show sd gundam force which was a mere kids show. but the ones i do like and the only other ones i've seen are gundam wing, g gundam, gundam 8th ms team, gundam seed, gundam seed destiny, and the movie gundam wing: endless waltz. i've seen parts of the original series but not enough to form an accurate judgment on it.

There are so many different gundam series it makes me wonder which was the first one. Was it g gundam??? I've seen gundam wing, endless walts, parts of gundam seed and currently following the new Gundam 00 (double 0) which is going pretty good so far...

So about my question???
Gundam has lots of different universes that have less to nothing in plot relation with eachother while within the same timeline, the series form a sort of "history".

Original Timeline: Universal Century (UC)
The UC is the largest, 1st and original timeline, it has the most series and sidestories and probably makes most sense. A large deal of UC serie are targetted towards a mature audience and is always kept track of by old school fans.

-Mobile Suit Gundam (1st Gundam)
-Z Gundam
-ZZ Gundam
-Char's Counterattack
-Victory Gundam
-Guyndam F91
-0080: War in the Pocket
-0083: Stardust Memories
-The 8th MS Team
-Z Gundam: A New Translation
-MS IgLoo (The Hidden One Year War/Apocalypse 0079)

The UC also holds a truckload of mangas with sidestories as well as novels.

The other stuff: Alternate Universes (AU)
AUs are all the other universes people made up for Gundam, they mostly live a hype for a few years and then get dropped. Nonetheless, the AU holds a lot of popular series, as it got into cartoon network and all. Most people and beginners have started with an AU.

Future Century:

-New Mobile Report Gundam Wing
-Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz

After War:

-Gundam X

Cosmic Era:

The Correct Century is kind of special, Turn A Gundam is supposed to have the essence of all Gundams, some timelines note it to happen thousands of years after the Universal Century (being the only AU connected with it in some way), well, see for yourself.

I'm not trying to discredit Red Phantoms or something because the background of his thoughts is correct, but U.C. doesn't necessarily happen after AD.

In fact, old UC timelines say that UC started at the year 2045/46 as the first space colony is constructed, in that manner UC 0079 (~1st Gundam) would be ~AD 2175. On the other hand, 00 seems rather far behind on technology, even though its AD 2307 Beam weapons count as new technology and in the beginning GN dispersion is something unsuspected, whereas in U.C. 0079 Minovsky dispersion already belongs to everyday life.

This again shows that two different Gundam timelines should not be considered linking to eachother and possibly that very old UC timelines trying to link it to AD shouldn't be trusted, ESPECIALLY not as attempt to link it to Gundam 00

Honestly, I'm purist in terms of timeline. I dislike the idea of linking two series with different timeline just for the sake of it has Gundam in it. Unless the series production clearer state it it has connection (official news material/statement), I can accept it.

In other note, the 2nd Season of Gundam 00 is already aired in Japan. My first impression of the first episode of the 2nd Season? Uncertain.

Looks like they using Zeta Gundam formula, A-LAW is like Titans reincarnation in AD timeline and Kataron is sort like AEUG minus the Gundam. We don't know where Celestial Beings stands; either upholding principles of Aeolia Schenberg (I see Neo-Zeon here) or siding with either one of the faction most probably with Kataron.

The ending credits animation just almost killed the whole suspense and thrill of the series, since it giving hint of what's to come. Well, thank you, Mr. Director. Also, they burrowed the idea of a dead character on end of the last season of being miraculously survived and alive in the next season from previous Gundam. Sort like every Gundam series must have one of such character I guessing there two groups who love this; one who support Feldt Grace X Lockon Stratos pairing and Lockon fangirls (boys). However, it good to learn what had happen to all the characters in the last season. One of the of surprise is justify the connection between Saji and Louise in first Season into the 2nd.

I've a mixed feeling of how the 2nd Season plot will flow. I hope it have the enough Gundam politics and intrigue also more character development to keep me entertain. Mecha brawl and romance just the side show that includes in the whole package.

Wing was acutally one of my favorite series, i thought it had a VERY unique cast of gundams and weapons, and the plot line was just fine.

0083 is good too, youll enjoy that i think

SEED is a good one, but not so much SEED Destiny, abunch of the main characters really pissed me off :p

00 is probably my new favorite gundam series, it really has a unique plot line as well and the tactics and plot turns are fantastic, great set of characters as well :D

wing is based on the fight between the earth and some opposing colonies, the colonist sent gundams to potentially protect them and take over the earth, but plans change and the gundams end up fighting for the good of the universe as a whole more so. Also they were called gundams because they were built from a material called Gundamiam Alloy which was a very strong metal created in space far away so it was very rare.

seed and seed destiny are about the war between regular humans or "naturals" (the earth alliance), and coordinators (superior "test tube" humans, who are naturally better in almost every way.)(ZAFT) one of the coordinators accidentally joins up the the human side in order to protect his friends (because he has no bias) and in the proccess end up fighting a very good friend of his from his childhood. the term gundam in this series is based on the operating system used to control the mobile suits which generally stands for General Unilateral Neuro - Link Dispersive Autonomic Maneuver

A question, my brother told me that Gundam Seed Destiny will have a continuation and it's Gundam Seed Genesis. He also told me that Athrun and Luna Maria's sister (I forgot her name) will have children. I got a copy of that picture where Athrun had children with Luna's sister. Is GS Genesis real? Because I just found a forum named Gundam Seed Genesis.

I'd really like Athrun and Cagalli together but it seems not possible. T-T

That would be the death of Gundam.

It's already had to deal with the horrible G, Wing, SEED, SEED Destiny, and now 00, further and further pushing itself away from Real Mecha as Gundam practically defined it. If aliens were thrown into the mix, it just wouldn't be Gundam anymore.

What I'd like to see out of Gundam is for it to go back to it's roots, and maybe expand upon the UC timeline.

No more unnecessarily whiny(Seed), emo(Wing), or hyper-homoerotic(00) characters. I'd love to see it go back to being the epic military drama that it was, not a drama with a bit of military here and there.

He'll I'd even stand for a Kidou Senshi Gundam remake(in terms of animation and effects. I think producers would be cruxified if they altered the story), since they already re-made Casshern and the Mazinger remake is about to begin airing.

Yes, seed was whiny. Yes, wing was emo. But then again all freakin Gundam have their emo whiny moments, even in the older one.
You always know what Gundam will bring you men in weird mask and strange moments. Even uncomfortable ones.

I'm joking but in one episode they say:
Aleljuah says Marie, Lyle says Anew, Teira says Veda, and Setsuna says Gundam...in a sense they are comparing Gundam and Veda to the two people lovers. I thought it was hilarious.

Personally, I think Gundam 00 was the better of any Gundam series. Gundam 00 was the best.

Its Stellar in a dog costume (poking fun at her unit). There's also Destroy gundam version of her.

(Amuro looks different here because he evolved into Nu Amuro in order to face the Destroy Stellar army together with Bright, Bright tells him to go on and fights the Destroys alone. He wins, fear the Brightslap)

SO after watching the complete series to gundam X there is a part toward the end where just can tell the creators just stopped. i read about this on line and i just need to know why they did that . Can anyone help me does anyone know what im talking ab out ?

Yes that's true. What happened was for one reason or another Gundam X was moved from a good primary time slot to a dodgy Sunday morning 6AM timeslot. When that occurred, the ratings plummeted, so unfortunately the series was canned so the writers had to wrap up the series a good 10 episodes early. So the final few episodes are a tad rushed. It's a real shame as the series is actually very good.
