I really disliked Lyserg.
He backstabbed and then thought he could go crawling back to Yoh and the gang.
Sure at the start i felt sorry for him..Hao killed his parents and all, (lol Hao's still my favourite character) but after that and how much he went on about it..he got pathetic.
and i'll have to agree with Kiss of Death, i didnt like Tamao either, she was a pointless and annoying character, now the iron maiden jeanne i thought she was cool, she may of been a hypocrite but a cool one.
and to Kiss: i thnk you mean Lucas the priest..not sure but i think it was him.

The anime totally gives the wrong image of the X-Laws and Jeane. Iron Maiden Jeanne is NOT a hypocrite... she's pure hearted and well meaning, it's all Marco's fault. He's the manipulating bastard. He took this lil' girl and made her into the 'savior' of his organisation. All the X-Laws are ex-military type who discovered their shaman powers by being near death during war situation but Marco...Marco was a car salesman!

In fact all the angels are actually the ghosts of CARS! It's true! Marco's michael is a ferrari!

I really hate Lyserg and this is why:

1. When we first met him, he tricked Ryu into taking him to Yoh and co. where he attacked them without any warning.

2. After Yoh straightened him out and was kind enough to offer him a place in his team, Lyserg acted like Yoh didn't know what he was doing. Always questioning his decisions, being so impatient to find Hao and defeat him. Storming off, ect.

3. THE BACKSTABBING!!!! He betrayed ALL of them!!

So yah, he's dead to me.

Poor Lyserg just doesn't know how to handle friends. Yoh is a very destabilizing person that can make anybody's mental barrier just collapse or melt away. By the end of the serie almost everybody but Hao is friend with Yoh :p. That ability is what makes Yoh the only one capable of defeating Hao because to truly 'defeat' Hao you have to save him from himself and break away all his pent up hatred and sadness.

So you can understand Lyserg not quite 'getting' the guy. He just thought he'd accomplish his goal much faster while being with the X-Laws than with Yoh's disjointed group. You can'T blame the guy for being seduced by structure... he lost his family...and he's british XD

I don't hate any Shaman King character, but I'll tell you this: when Ryu began to develop what appeared to be a crush on Lyserg, that really freaked me out. It's not that I have a vendetta against yaoi, but for some reason, my mind went all Whoa!

In the anime (Japanese with English-subtitles), I think the guy said something like this:

Darn, this is a coed bath, but there's only guys here. Well, there's Lyserg *blushes*

I personally dislike wooden sword ryu, faust viii and tao ren. why? faust is totally scary, with that doctor coat. ryu is just plain irritating, with that elvis presley look. ren is simply too selfish and proud, always him being number one and controling the group (team ren). chocolove is not my fave character either, but at least the reaction of the group to his jokes (e.g. ren poking his nose in episode 39) is very funny. lily five is whom i dislike also.

Since my last post I've found out that Lyserg isn't that much of a sissy or a backstabber, at least not in the manga and he also didn't get rid of his ghost like in the anime.
So he isn't that bad, now I know how he really is(manga) I think I'd go with Ren. K it's his personality but I just don't really like him is to "macho", never want's to show his emotions. Just because your a guy it doesn't mean you can't show your emotions once in a wile.:rolleyes:

Hmm, I despise Lyserg and Manta.
I dislike Lyserg because he seems like a weakling (like everyone else here said). He seems to be getting attention with his oh-so-tragic past in the manga and that annoys me because he didn't seem to show much emotion at all about his parents' death (except in the flashback itself)
I also dislike Manta because he's annoying. He constantly freaks out and says something stupid. As good as a friend he is to Yoh, I just think that Yoh would be so much better off without looking out for Manta, aka that time during the battle with Faust. Manta also seems to get pretty emotional and that just gets to me.
