Basilisk

Basilisk is a really cool feudal era anime I started watching recently.

Its a good blend of action-drama-romance-tragedy-and a little comedy, plus its got a really cool theme song in my opinion. What does everyone else think about it?

This anime's great. I've been watching the series for a while now. I only got upto episode 18 though, because my DVD player broke all of a sudden.

i don't really go for the theme song. Samurai 7's was better, in my opinion. but i do enjoy the show itself. i've been watching it on Friday nights on IFC. it's awesome, and i can't wait to see what happens!

I haven't actually gotten to see the series as of yet, however my older brother won't shut the crap up about it. He'll call me (he's living with my grandma and going to college), anyway, he'll call me and everytime he does he just has to chime in something to the effect of "oh my god! Have you gotten to see Basilisk, yet?"

Me: "no..." *rolls eyes expectantly*

Him: "oh my god you gotta see it. It totally rocks! in like the first episode there's this fight between this old guy and this old woman and they're like old friends and... *details of the fight I don't remember* and then she dies and she's all like bloody and the guy *does or says something cool, apparently*"

Me(in my head): OH MY GOD!!! SHUT UP!!! YOU ARE SO ANNOYING!!!

I'd like to see it but haven't yet. One of my friends that goes to his older sister's college anime club every once in a while (who I hate for getting to see the first few episodes of Death Note... I'm watching you, Phillip... jerk... *freakishly wide, suspicious eyes*) he told me he's seen the first few episodes of Basilisk and liked it, too... I have such bad, terrible, torturous luck... T_T

Basilisk is great... in fact, I don't have the words to describe. All I can say is: If you want to see real ninjas, drop Naruto and get Basilisk!

Yah it is an awesome show. It is based on a book and a movie, called Shinobi Heart Under Sword I do believe so look that up if you want more after it is over.

I enjoyed this anime very much too. That movie they recently made about the same story is really good too, Shinobi. :] Both are worth a watch if you have not yet.

I think there's a live-action movie for Basilisk, named Shinobi. I've seen Shinobi, but haven't seen a single episode for Basilisk. But I can already say that it's a really good story but a bit Naruto-like in some way. I like it still though ^_^

Its good to see 1 time for me, i would have the mood to watch it again (note that this doesnt mean i didnt like it) resume = its a good serie but not enough to see again.

I love Basilisk! Actually, it has gotten me hook up on anime. A compelling storyline plus tons of super ninja..it doesn't get better than this. Oh! And that song for the intro is awesome. It sounds like japanese pagan rock:D
