Dose the manga explain more than the anime?

i would say the anime explains more...but thats just my opinion and ive only read a bit of the manga

Manga compared to the anime (in short)

manga definatly explores the whole 'Chobits' fiction with much more detail, I thought the anime (though ok) failed to translate the whole mythology of Persocons greatly and instead went for a more light-hearted up-beat tempo, which Kinda works and I enjoy (who wants a carbon copy eh?)

the manga is more serious and the relationships between the characters and their persocons is much more indepth and emotional despite being only 8 volumes. chii's character development is more diverse than the anime's and we see the story unfold more so from Hideki's side, which works well. the anime can be slow at times but the manga has a consistant pace

iv only read volume one of chobits so is a presacom a lower modle then a chobit are they the same thing???

Chobits are a very advanced model of Persacons. Basicaly the only two built were done by the original husband and wife team that invented the persacons, they couldn't have children so they built a pair of daughters and made them so they could fall in love with someone and be happy, what all decent parents want for their kids. :)

Hi guys, relatively new here and i actually saw alot of people saying that chobits was good. I haven't read a Romance Manga before but was just wondering if this would be a good place to start. Like are these just like hey i like you and thats it or what? I wanted to know more about this Chobits before buying it cause i don't go to the library. Chobits is an average-length manga.

As for the story, it's the ONLY Clamp creation that was humanly possible for me to watch every episode of, so that says something ^^ It's also the only romance story that I really liked. I loved the storybook persona of Chobits, and the underlying question of humanity and what it possibly means adds depth.

It's a pretty good anime, though Hideki's way too much of a pervert for some people's tastes.

I'd have to say Chii, Kotoko, and Dita are my favorite characters.

--One thing to point out though is: Why in the hell would they use THAT place for Chii's activation. -Sick.. *edit*.

I myself have seen around nine episodes of the anime and it's really good stuff. Hideki seems to be an accidental pervert more then less.

As for the switch being 'there' if you've heard ahead in the story you can kinda guess the drama that can result form that.

If that switch is every hit again she looses all of who she has been, like a reset button. Saying this, Hideki could never have 'that' kind of relationship with her. It's actually pretty interesting to see how far love can go without the 'fornication'.

The whole story seems to catch my eye, the questions it forms, the world it's in and just the plot line itself really brings me into it.

Not to mention it's funny... REALLY funny. ^^

I herd a lot of good stuff about the show and was thinking about watch and reading it.I only have a book store where i live to buy my Graphic Novel and a best buy that sells anime dvd. I dont think best buy that show so i mite have to get it off the internet.Should i read the novels first or watch the show?

You can do either tthough there are a few differences between the manga and the anime. I enjoyed both of them equally well and recommend them both.

I think it left a lot out about the history of the chibots project. Like, why was Chii just abandoned not far from her creators house? And what was that disk for that Hideki dropped? And what the hell was the point of Jima and Dita? To stop "that program" in Chii? They were so elusive that I was always pissed when I didn't learn anything new about them.

I liked Chii just because she was so innocent, you can really say that she truly loved Hideki. But, I hated Sumomo the most. The voice...and the whistle...unghgh. Yumi and Ueda were nice characters too.

Yeah, that's the weird thing. It just seems too coincidental, that Chii was left like, a few blocks from the place of her creation. I thought that maybe the landlady (I forgot her name sorry) left her there on purpose so she would be reactivated by someone who truly cared for her, thus finding the person only for her.

I feel so supieror ive seen all the anime and read the manga. I know what happens and all the answers to the whys. I love Freya by the way her clothes are awesome! But's its CLAMP the author and the way he/she draws is what i admire the most.

The only really major storyline difference to me really was the ending and what was the *program* within Chi and what would activate it. Both versions it was installed by the man who created both Freya then Chi as a result of Freya's basicaly shutting down from emotional anguish over her being inlove with her *Father* and not wanting to hurt her *Mother* whom she loved as well. IN the manga if Chi failed to find the *one just for her* then she would release a program that would render all persocoms unable to distinguish between one human or another, no one would be special to them and they'd be reduced to mere machines to spare them from emotions they couldn;t handle. Pretty plain why Jima and Dita were out to stop her though for slightly different reasons from one another. In the anime no one alive knew what sort of failsafe program had been installed into Chi and thus is was just safer all around to stop it from happening then find out what it was only after it was too late if harmful. In this case the program appeared to IMO unlock the full emotional capacity of all the persocoms since Chi had found that humans and persocoms could love one another. Just my two cents.

I recently finished watching Chobits on YouTube and I have to say CLAMPS done it again. It was very well made with logical explanations to the story. I really liked it not to mention it was INCREDIBALY FUNNY!! Although Hideki is a pervert, porn-lover he has respect for Chii which is hard to find with guys with that personality. What definetly caught me off guard was when Shinbo and his teacher were kissing under the rain (very cute scene :3) I totally didn't expect that.

What I didn't like were the 2 o 3 recaps that they included completly worthless. Chii is very cute and I love how she always says "Chii". I don't like when Hideki pets Chii on the head. I'm like she not a freakin' god-damned dog! That upsets me, also when Fye did it in Tsubasa.

I have to admit the character identities where very well hidden till the end of the anime. That book gave me the creeps at times. It's strange how they explain the love between persocoms and humans like Ueda and his persocom wife (SO SAD!!! I CRYED!!) I love Freya's dress. Is it me or that name is definetly not Japanese because I've never heard it before.

Freya is the name of a Norse Goddess and Chi originaly was named Elda so neither of the Chobits had Japanses names more like Scandanavian, but then considering how much of a character their Dad was from Angelic Layer it's no surprise there.

As for Hideki's perviness he actually never did try to do anything inappropriate with any of the other girls he had met and ended up giving all of his new friends good advice in regards to their relationships.

I saw the show originaly on Youtube as well then downloaded a much better quality English Subtitled version and loved rewatching it on a larger screen.

Interestingly enough, it's not exactly shown where Hideki found Chi in the manga, although he gripes about having to lug her back to his apartment. The disk was indeed Chi's, or rather Elda's, memories. Her mother created it in the hope that, if Chi couldn't find her special someone, they could go back to their previous life.

In the manga, it's explained that Zima is the national data bank, and Dita the one to protect him. Together, they are to stop any threat to national security. They know what the program is in the manga, because Ichigo had already done a test run with it, which they promptly went after, due to how powerful it was already with only a portion of the program.
