I'm just curios to know if someone here is reading the novel of Full Metal Panic where the anime FMP series, fumoffu and the second raid was adopted. For a novel, I'd say that it's pretty decent and the more it goes through the more it get's better and intensier. I can't just get enough of it. Whenever a new chapter is released and translated, it'll make my day.

Why? Warning! Spoilers ahead!
If TSR which was based from the book "End of Day by Day" by Shouji Gatou was that great which I think is..the next book "A Dance Very Merry Christmas" (wherein the main setting is during Christmas eve on a giant cruise ship called Pacific Christmas, bigger than tuatha de danaan submarine)doubles in terms of thrill, suspense, romance and all. hmm...it kinda remembers me of titanic..randomness!! xD

And much more that it triples in the next book "Continuing On My Own" in which drama romance and suspense/thrill is combined very effectively. Sousoke is becoming freakin' bold here on his feellings to Kaname in gestures and words. He did mention that he is willing to give up everything, his past and current status to live with her, just the two of them on a land far away where no one knows them. And not to mention the part wherein Kaname and Sousoke we're being chased by Humanoid ArmSlaves' and in order for them to survive, Sousoke was forced with no choice left but to kill a civilian, leave a severely wounded child on the street just to protect and save Kaname even when he's beat-up badly(whenever I read that part, it shivers me).Sosuke's all troubled here, still doing all the he can even losing his partner, almost dying. But in the end, he's left nothing but himself as Kaname was forced to make a decision in order to save Sousoke and her School and friends. And it's all Mr. Long haired-good-looking-but extremely evil fault, the guy who stole a kiss on Kaname on episode 9 of TSR. His intentions? enough spoiling! My bad!

This isn't even a summary. Just the part which I feel like spoiling. There's too many details. It's really awesome. So, I suggest if I did manage to get you on this, read the novel. Send me a PM if you want to know where and how to get the novel, the english translation or perhaps I'll post the links? when someone replies.

^^

PS The novel is still ongoing and sadly for me who can't read Japanese, I'm two books behind. I'm waiting for the english translations. And regarding the anime, well unlike Fruits Basket, there's a big possibility of a follow-up season, but it would take like a year or two after the last season.

Nyahaha..So, you've been reading this too. So, you did consider my recommendation last summer. ^_^
Btw, im in your house now. lol Don't ask why, but allow me to use and sneak stuffs in your PC. I'll wait for you here.

As for Full Metal Panic Novels, Yes! I like it alot; it's very good in terms of suspense and thrill plus it has a good blend of romance and comedy and that's why I recommend it to you. My opinion on "Continuing in my Own", well, like you said it's great, it focuses on the romance aspect pretty well. It's quite a good progress seeing that Sousoke finally realized after almost 9 months together how special Kaname is for him and the girl changed him in a way that he feels valued and accepted despite how cruel his life was. Hmm..most romantic part was when Sousoke reaches for Kaname's hand and hold it firmly while walking like they wouldn't want to let go as they enter Kaname's apartment. If only the bastard villain didn't interrupt. It would have been the night!...nevermind...And the sad part and i mean depressing was the face off then the parting. In short COMO was rather romantic yet tragic, but considerably great.

I think there are only 1 or 2 books to go after "Burning One Man Force" and "Tsudou Make My Day"(unfortunately, I couldn't read the stuff yet with the same reason as yours) before it ends as what the author stated in a note in DVMC which I think is pretty reasonable and would be better as far as the length and progress of the story. Too many things had already happened mostly tragic in the late part and the best way to end it is by a happy ending. Come on, gimme a break of a tragic and sad ending. I've had enough of that from most stories nowadays and I'm sick of it already. It's nice to experience an ending like the old times. Happy ending!

PS > Let me post the link for you of the site which has english translations of the FMP novels. www.boku-tachi.net (http://www.boku-tachi.net/)

I never honestly considered that anime to be a romance one... but opinions are opinions, I suppose.

Not pure romance, a sub-genre. It is actually a mixture of Adventure, Comedy, Romance, Drama, Mecha, Military, Science fiction, Shounen. Only that in the first FMP anime, romance aspect didn't weigh that much to the plot while the 2nd Sequel Fumoffu was more or all for humour and some romance, a compilation of funny short stories from the novel and some extras, I suppose. And as far as romance is concern, the 3rd sequel, The Second Raid is a good justice to how extent is the romance side of the story as it influences the characters will and turn-out of events in the story and it goes further as the story progresses, but still the whole mecha action suspense thing is still intact with the storyline and as well advances.
