I would go with buu's saga. That chunk of bubble gum was a tough fighter!

Well saiyan saga was pretty nice with the whole Vegeta and Goku fight, Frieza saga was waaaay longer than it needed to be, and the end wasn't very satisfying to me. Cell saga was ok, but the whole android thing got weary after a while. Buu saga was unique and kept me entertained. Buu all the way ^^

Freeza. In my opinion, it's where it should've ended - or atleast that's when I stopped enjoying it.

Yes this is when I sort of phased the show out of my life. I came back with Buu but the whole Frieza thing would have been the kind ending i would have prefered.

I know what you mean. Buu had like a dozen forms, half of em forgettable. Still I had to watch that ending ( which was so-so by the way ). No matter how long it went on, and on, and on....

Frieza saga was great, and was pretty much the last of the origional sagas. The rest just piled up the same stuff over and over again, and got really boring.

Good to see some still appreciating the classics notably the Vegeta saga. If you look closely to the drawings and artwork from Vegeta saga to Cell saga then GT you'll notice the progressing methods of animation.

I would say the Baby Saga. That's is when he start's to Transform to Super Sayain 4. Also he get's to fight baby vegita! Now that eposide is the best one in DGT that's my opnioin though.

The freeza saga was obviously the best cause it was super long and dramatic, cause it was the first with a million drawn out battles, over episodes and episodes.

When I saw this topic, I thought you were talking about the original Dragonball! That was my favourite to be honest.

The freeza saga was obviously the best cause it was super long and dramatic, cause it was the first with a million drawn out battles, over episodes and episodes. I liked that saga too but I think I have to agree with Grognar on this one. There were many parts in the story where they couldíve ended the battle but it went on and on until I just watched just to see if itís already over. They couldíve ended the battle with Gokou using the Spirit ball (Genkidama) or when he became Super Saiyan for the 1st time but nooooooo it still went on removing the impression that Gokou becoming a super saiyan made a difference.

When I saw this topic, I thought you were talking about the original Dragonball! That was my favourite to be honest.
Oh yes the very classic one that started it all. Lots of things happened there that paved the way for the other seasons to succeed.

Iím kinda lost on this one. Can anyone remind me what Vegetaís galick gun was? Please tell me which episode so I can look it up.

My favorite is definately the Cell Saga, gotta love SSJ2 Gohan before he became a wimpy bookwormYou know why Cell saga was really unique? Itís the only major battle and saga where Gokou didnít defeat the main villain. This is also the only saga wherein you get to see all the Z fighters in action all at once (against cell jrs) and not see them play the role of spectator we see all the time.

I can't remember if its Vegeta that uses his Galick-gun in the Cell saga .. or Semi-Perfect Cell against Trunks..

Either way, the Freeza saga was my favourite, and it's obvious Akira intended to originally (before the $$$) end it there. The greatest nemesis of the Saiya-Jin is confronted, his power is waay beyond everything else (case in point: Gokuu is deemed incredibly powerful at 160 000 or something while weakest form Freeza is 530 000), the Z Fighters all try and fail miserably against Freeza as he just gets stronger and stronger with each transformation. Vegeta, the prince, dies leaving Gokuu the last full blooded Saiya-jin..

After a hard battle and more deaths, with the Genkidama finally failing, he accomplishes what no other Saiya-jin has and becomes a Super Saiya-jin. Even then it's a tough battle, he wins and spares Freeza who cowardly attacks him and dooms himself.

Even more impressive is that despite his victory, Gokuu was originally intended to die along with planet Namek, the Saiya-jin race finally having gotten it's revenge. Then along came the dough and kablam ... he found a space pod and junk.

Everything after that isn't really original. The series had its lose ends tied up at the conclusion of the Freeza saga.

wow, I never knew that... but when you think of it.. it makes a lot more sence if DBZ would stop at the freeza saga...

I'd have to say The Cell Saga! Cell was a great villian! However, my main reason is that The Cell Sage introduced Android 17 & 18 and I'm a HUGE Android 18 fan! Also I liked Krillin having a larger role in the story!

I liked the Veheta saga the best, mostly because I think that the younger Gohan was the best. I actually haven't seen DBGT so I don't know about those two sagas. I also like Dragonball when Goku was a kid, but it got more interesting when Vegeta showed up and everything.

In my opinion the best DBZ saga was Cell Games. All of the other sagas seemed to be building up to this one. It was the saga that was supposed to officially hand DBZ over to the Gohan Era.

This was the only one were the end was not completely predictable. You just knew that Goku had to be the hero. He was the strongest of earths warriors. He beat Vegita and he beat Freeza. So naturally he would have to be the one to beat Cell. But as the fight went on it looked like he couldnt beat Cell but you just knew that he would find a way to pull out he victory because he always does.

Then he say it. "I can't beat him". GASP!!!!! Goku can't beat him???? WTH!!! Then he turns to Gohan and says "You have to do it". At this point Cell had beaten the crap out of all of the strongest warriors and yet Goku entrusts the fate of he universe to his son who at this point is probably considered the 5th strongest behind Goku, Vegita, Trunks & Piccalo. What a twist. The other fighters didn't even think he had a chance.

Then Gohan doesn't just beat Cell...he dominates his ***. He goes to SS2 (at this point he was the only one that could) and completely wipes the floor with him. This is the saga where he bacame the most powerful Sayajin and should have been the point where DBZ started to focus on him instead of Goku. If they did that they could be having fresh episodes of DBZ even now. Instead they gave it back to Goku & ruined it. Majin Bu was the last decent series after that.

Plus we get to see future Trunks who is still my favorite character.

My favorite saga in the Dragonball saga was the Super 17 saga. Android 17 became my most favorite character when the Android/Cell saga aired in America. Seeing him as Super Hell Fighter 17 and being SSJ4 Son Goku equal really amazed me. He died pretty stupid though, but it was a good saga.

well i think that in each saga was something that transcended its normal lenght and was useless in dragonball but i actually liked all that battles between z fighters which were so amazing that it sometimes even took my breath away. the main story line was great and i would even make some more epizodes of DB if i was akira even if DBGT wasnt all his work .... i am hungry for more but quite a lot of people and fans think it will be too much of dragonball if someone produces more DB ;)
