[contest] Spring Contest - until April 3rd

It's that time again for a wallpaper contest. yay yay! And who knows? Even I may enter. ;)

Apparently it is spring, but it's still really cold here. So, let's pretend that the weather is warm and that spring is here. What do you think of when you hear the word "spring"? Cute bunnies? Peeps? Hayfever and allergies? When I hear spring I think of sakura (cherry blossoms). For our spring contest, your goal is to make a wallpaper with sakura. It can be a tree, blossoms, floating petals, whatever! Also, sakura are pink, so the blossoms and petals must be pink. To summarize:

What: Spring Contest!
Theme: sakura/cherry blossoms
When: starts today, closes on April 3rd. Voting to follow soon after

Rules:
-Wallpaper must be atleast 1024x768. Widescreen walls are ok!
-Don't forget to sign your wallpaper!
-It must be a new wallpaper; one made for this contest. Do not use old wallpapers, please!
-There must be a significant amount of sakura. It's the theme, after all!
-The sakura must be pink! The rest of your wallpaper can be any color.
-No collabs; do the wall yourself. Asking for help is totally ok, though!

When you finish your wall, put it in this thread. Please keep the spam to a minimum. This isn't a thread for cretiques of any kind; good or bad. Thanks!

Well, I actually wanted to wait a few more days to see if creativity strikes again, but I think my wallpaper is finished anyway.

I really liked the contest idea. In my childhood, our street had a row of cherry trees and the many pink and white blossoms have always meant to me that spring is at its fullest and summer not that far of. (And today it has SNOWED, for crying out loud http://animeforum.com/images/smilies/dry.gif)

By the way, quite a number of cherry trees have white blossoms. But I have to agree with you, pink is the much more well known color for them.

I hope some of you like my wp. I also made one with pink borders at the top and bottom instead of white, but that made it look much to saturated.

Well here is my wallpaper...I hope you enjoy it.

Keeping to my style I made it alittle darker than most would expect for a spring wallpaper. I made it soo there was an emptiness in the background for the feeling of a loneliness...Because most people associate love with this season I wanted to make things alittle twisted and..so on and so on....also i wanted a reflecting concept because its hard to find pictures that I really wanted...so i made it so that I can get away with alot of things by distorting it and giving it a river reflection look

If you want the character, then there's no problem ... just ...you took out also the fence. I can give you both images, Lain and the original BG (with the fence) if you want .... just don't extract dirrectly from other wallpapers next time ;)

Well here it is my final entry putting all my patients to the test but i managed to pull it off...well just like my earlier entry I made it with a darker theme though keeping to the sakura drops. hope you like it and I didnt rip anything this time I SWEAR!

hi there, this is my sakuratwist on my ergo proxy wall...
i´m not sure if it complies to the rules given, but the ergo etc wall came out when i started a sakurawall for this very contest so i guess it´s ok...
(if it´s not allowed, sorry for wasting your time ^^°)
...however i also put some more sakura related (and other) stuff in there ^^



p.s. i know the poem lacks (among other qualities)yuugen...but since this is not a poetry contest it´ll be alright guess :P

Far be it for me to complain, but... I thought Pooky said that the wallpaper had to be ENTIRELY NEW for the contest. I mean, I think the wallpaper is killer lava, but IMHO it's a little on the cheating side. You've already dedicated a thread to the wall without the sakrua. I personally do not see how adding sakura blossoms to the wall makes it a unique wallpaper.
