Ok, after much request from people, I decided to post a tutorial for one of the bgs I do for my signatures. And its very simple to do. ^^
Oh, yea..it's my first time doing the tutorial on this..I would just type it on AF but, I need images for it..and AF doesn't allow to post that many pictures at once. So Comment and post your results. =3

hmm..Try blending your Render a bit more. And if the sig is too dark, put a new layer on top and set it to 'SoftLight'. Then press D, and grab your gradient tool. Drag it across to which way you want. And there ya go. =3

And not bad results.

^^; kind of dark your results. And Im using the old PS7 >_>;;...
To make it lighter/brighter, make a new layer and put the mode to 'Softlight'.
then brush white on it (using any soft brush)
and not bad border, if you want a blended border, make a new layer, press ctrl+Shift and then go to edit>stroke> 1px black. Then set that layer mode to 'Softlight' or 'Overlay'. Simple.

And yea i know there was another way. XD DK just thought the easy way after making this.

O.o not bad, now its not that dark anymore, yet, how come the picture is a bit uh..low quality? Did you save it in a lower jpg file? If the picture is originally like that, I would go to sharpen> sharpen then if its too sharp go to edit>fade shapen. Then grab a blur brush (soft brush), and set the strength to less than 50%. Then start blurring the parts that dont look smooth.

I don't know how to cut the peoples out of the pics and paste them onto other pics like marudashi's sig....http://www.animeforum.com/uploads/_0.jpgsigh i don't think there is a tool on paintshop pro x that allows you to do that...i tried the lasso tool..and that didn't work then i just went to the simple eraser tool i asked people but they won't help me out..sigh..

First, make sure you zoom in a bunch - at least 200% or more. The lasso tool doesn't work too well because it always tries selecting stuff you don't want selected. Eraser works but it's a major pain & the results aren't very smooth. Try one of the other selection tools - I prefer the manual one (point to point) as you have the most control. Then starting at one side of the image, select bits & chunks to delete from the image. You don't have to delete all the way to the edge of the image - just clear a nice space all around. Then you can use the erase tool to get rid of all the remaining stuff. I know a great tutorial - I'll see if I can find it & post a link.

Yea, using the pen tool is the best way in cutting the picture out. I'll see if I can make a tutorial on that (really Easy), or just post a link on it. Also there are pictures that are already cutted out. It has a lot of names like Render and Transparent PNGs. But in graphic sites, it would be called 'Transparent PNGs'. Try using those instead. (i use 'em when I'm too lazy) >_>;

Just click on the small picture to the left of the garbage can on your layer window. If thats confusing, go to Layers> New Layer
