I can't pick from that list alone. Top 3 without question (although I'm constantly changing my mind on this O_o) :

~ Ishida Uuryu: He dropped a few pegs during this filler arc for being overly dramatic but he shot right back up to the top of my list once I saw his accomplishments in the manga. The thing that really convinced me were his powers during the fight with Mayuri. Awesome.

~ Hitsugaya Toshiro: Bankai amazes me time after time. He fights with style, determination and spirit. Yet he's still so darn young. And his attitude changes are always amusing to behold (especially when he talks to Matsumoto ^^)

~ Urahara Kisuke: The guy behind the scenes and in the foreground simultaneously ^^ Funny and kick butt at the same time. His sword is pretty wicked, and I can't wait to see it's abilities in the next few manga chapters. He's the type of character who always knows much more than he ever lets on (my favorite kind).

Well, I do have a number of favorite characters from this series, to mention my top three is no.3 a tie between REnji and Ishida, no.2 is Kuchiki Rukia and no.1 for me is Kurosaki Ichigo - not just because he's the main character, but due to his will and inetense desire to protect his loved ones. Really Superb! He's a good brother/friend to be. I wish I could be like him in that way; to be able to protect and help my family/friend/and my loved ones out of grief, that's so cool and really awesome.

Eventhough he's not skilled in battle nor good in combat, but among all of those who helped out Ichigo in SS, he's the one who contributed help alot. Without him to heal Ichiho's wound, prolly Ichigo wouldnt have lasted long in consecutive battles. So, I admire him for being brave and fairly helpful. ^_^

For my favorite characters from the anime, it's really a toss up between Gin and Kenpachi. Gin is just so cool 'cause he always has that smile, but he's really evil, so it's kinda creepy in a cool way. Kenpachi is great because he is just so ruthless. Also if he ever got shikai, let alone bankai, he'd be the most powerful captain, hands down.

In the manga, my favorite characters are Shinji, Hiyori, and Isshin. My all-around favorite though is Ulquiorra. It seems like there is still a while to go before their pasts and true power are revealed though. I particularly want to see Ulquiorra and Ichigo fight, especially since Ulquiorra seems really powerful and looks like an inverted form of Ichigo's Bankai.

I didn't read the manga till now, and I didn't reach far with the Anime.
At the moment I've got personal favorites: Rukia, Ichigo and Ishida Uuryu. They amaze me every time with their great powers.

Uryu Ishida's awesome. He can make a bow and arrow, he can destroy Hollows, and he can sew!

1 - Ichigo: I like how he sort of has a split personality. Sometimes he's a human/death god, and when near death his hollow form takes over. His soul slayer is also cool looking, and I like the energy blast he shoots out of it, seems like Goku's Kami wave.

2 - Chad/Sado: He has a cool strength... "summons" his fist weapon, which enables him to punch hard and shoot energy. And he doesn't say much. So he isn't annoying like Orihime.

3 - Nova: Also doesn't say much, and it's cool he can warp people places. Funny when he closes his mask if he doesn't want to be social.

4 - Can't remember the name... The kid the heals people that helped Ichigo and Ganju find the tower Rukia was in. He's funny when he comes to earth, taking more interest in the store, and the microwave.

5 - Renji: Renji has his badass attitude, but he is also often clueless. Like when he tastes coffee

I would say Kuchiki Byakuya because he quiet and polite and his attitude almost related my personality or attitude. But If Hitsugaya Toushiro were on the 10 ten list I would say him, because he is incredbly smart and Courageous.

My two favorite characters are Ichimaru Gin and Orihime Inoue.

Inoue is completely random and adorable. Her powers match her personality so well and her backstory is actually pretty interesting. She's cute and bubbly and overall just a weird little girl and I tend to enjoy those characters more for some reason. I especially enjoy her taste for odd foods and the affection between her and Tatsuki Arisawa.

As for Ichimaru Gin, there aren't too many anime characters that really creep me out and he's at the top of my list now. I can never remember his name when I'm looking at him and end up just calling him 'Foxman'. That grin, his use of slang and that taunting voice (Japanese version) definitely make him a character I enjoy watching. He's now one of my favorite villains of all time.

I also like Mr. Hat 'n' Clogs.. enough said.

Kurosaki Ichigo, plain and simple. While a little rough around the edges, he's a level character on several things I respect. Ichigo is always concerned with ensuring the protection of his loved ones by defending them with his own power, which served to aid in his drive to obtain a much higher level of strength; something that I can somewhat relate to. He wields an amazing Soul Slayer whose powers he has yet to fully awaken, and carries a Hollow Mask of incredible strength and capabilities. Overall, Ichigo not only has the potential to become the strongest character of power, in my eyes, he qualifies as one of the strongest of the heart, despite the fact he tends to hide the softer qualities of his character.
