Hellsing is a good anime and good manga to read to past time I am a huge fan of it but the manga is about ten volumes of it and they are going to make the OVA.

I think the OVA is called Hellsing: Ultimate and it's going to follow the plot of the manga instead. I can't wait for it to come out!

I've seen all the episodes and own some of the manga.I am in love with Alucard.He's so mean and yet cares at the same time.Hellsing is the most violant anime in the world, I read that in a summary last year.

I love Hellsing, its....very...very nice....I love the art...though it kills my hand to draw it...storyline, characters...for the most part....Integra can be pretty...annoying...and Ceres...is...a pitiful excuse for a vampire...but other than that....I did really wish though...that Rip Van Winkle would have been the one villian to survive...she was too cool to die...but..atleast I get some consolation in the fact that she had the coolest death

It ROCKS! It' my fav thing coming a tie with Naruto.
Alucard is the hottest. I'm in love with him (aswell as Kakashi). I am really good at drawing the manga - I'm asking for the whole series for xmas.
I think, in the manga, that Seras should get together with Pip. That would be sooo cool.

Yes, I agree, they should have made it longer. But they are bringing out the "Hellsing: Ultimate" OVA, which is based on the manga story. The first episode comes out on the 7th of December... there are going to be about 20 episodes in all, I think.

Also, forget what I said about being in love with Alucard and Kakashi. I was confuzed... Shikamaru is the only one for me.

Do any of you guys think that there is some romantic feeling between Alucard and Integra? Just a thought, but it could be possible.

I've just started watching Hellsing yesterday....Watched until episode 5.I don't think anything is going on between Integra and Alucard, but there is a possiblity of something going on between Alucard and Seras... Anyways, Hellsing is one of the best vampire anime there is..and yes, Alucard is so cool!! I love his evil snare. ^___^

Wait 'till you watch the rest *wink*. Then you'll see. I've read the manga, and trust me, there is NOTHING going on between Alucard and Seras. No way.

Hum... i've watched the anime already.. but i don't know about the manga is it better than the anime?... i hope it is just like fullmetal alchemist.. manga is better than anime..hum, i mean... almost all mangas are way better than its anime...

Yeah, I like the manga better than the anime... the manga actually has a proper plot, not like the weird storyline the anime follows.

I loved the anime, and I've read pretty far into the manga. I'm glad they're making the OVA; they left much out in the anime. And yes, Alucard is hot. I love his hair; it's much prettier than any girls' hair in the series. ^^

And the relationship between Alucard and Integra? I think it is quite a complex relationship; I think they care for each other, but not in a romantic sense. And Seras and Alucard? Well, I think she cares much more for him than he does for her; she loves him in the way a student would a teacher. He just cares for her general well-being and how she can be useful to the Hellsing Organization.

If I ever go to a convention, I'd love to go as Integra. It would be painfully easy; just some round glasses, a green business suit and I'll dye my hair blonde. ^^ Simple!

Ok, I have ANOTHER question - in Hellsing vol. 4, Alucard has a dream. In it... well, I'll quote.

Alucard has a stake through his heart and he is lying down, all beaten up. This person who's face we don't see (maybe Van Hellsing?) comes up to him.
Alucard: So I lost.
Mystery guy: That's RIGHT. You lost. No night-mare lasts FOREVER. Both your castle und fife *note: and wife* are gone. You loyal servents are dead und gone too. Even her mark from the Eucharist Vafer *note: wafer* has vanished. She'll NEVER belong to you.
*clenches his fist and punches Alucard* You've got nothing left now, count! MISERABLE NO LIFE KING! Everything you had ist now GONE!
*Alucard wakes up*
Alucard: *blood running out of his eyes* A DREAM. Me?! Dreaming...?! How RIDICULOUS.

Sooooo... this must be a dream from when he was Count Dracula, right? But what I want to know is why when he wakes up he has blood coming from his eyes, like tears... is that how he cries?

Hellsing is one of the best Animes that I have ever seen and I hope the OVA is going to be awsome to. Sometimes things get wrecked, i hope this doesnt happen.

I find it Ironic that Alucard is a reverse name of Dracula, though he is a vampire or undead type, he seem a good vampire with bad, unhuman attitude.

oddly enough there is a fanfaction on the web where D is the son of dracula. alurcard made his mother pregnant but did not have the time to turn her. something with people seeking her or something. i don't remember the title though.

Yeah, Hellsing is one of my favorite anime series out there. I watched the original series a while back and it was one of the first series that I was able to complete. However, I recently saw the Hellsing 1 OVA - "Digest for Fleaks" and I enjoyed it more than the original series. Since it's just a sample of the actual OVA, I expect the OVA series to be REALLY good.

Hellsing... After I saw it I had a complicated impresson. From one side - unbelievably charismatic main character Alucard, pretty interesting plot, very pleasant music and... the battles were nice too. But...
From the other side damnly poor and ugly main character's enemy (Inkognito). Looks like someone of the developers saw him in a... drunk delirium. And in general "bad guys" look like some sort psychopaths.
But the general impression of course was pretty good.

Yikes, you know a lot! I'll tell you everything I know about the 13mm Anti-freak combat pistol Jackal:

It's 39cm long, weighs 16kg, and has a six-round magazine. It's uses customized 13mm armour-peircing explosive rounds. The rounds are cased in macedonium silver and have blessed mercury tips. The gunpoweder is is Marvells chemicals cartridge N.N.A.9.

I don't know much about Joshua... read about it in the first volume, but I can't remember.

I own the entire first season, and I can say it is very good. It is definately worth watching although the languge leaves something to be desired in later episodes. As long as you don't ming that and you love vampires it's great.

Hellsing is one of the most impressive and unforgettable shows in the anime industry. Of course I prefer the manga version of it because I love reading. :D

Alucard is a pretty hot fictional character. Seras Victoria is such a cutie!

I have seen the entire box set and I liked it up until the last few episodes. Wasn't the demon that Alucard battled called Sett? Isn't that the major evil god from the Conan the barbarian books? Apart from that, it's a really great series. Walter was deadly with a cheese wire! My favourite character is Victoria Celes. I liked how we got to watch her coming to grips with being a vampire.

I'm also read manga "the dawn", then i'm a bit shock on Alucard's apperance... it's sooo girlie... *i feel a bit heart broke* (and walter's just like bishounen >_<)

If you've noticed, the difference in names is more how they pronounce it. The japanese don't use a solid "r"... it's like a cross between "r" and "l', which is why we get "Alucard" and "Arucard". I'm pretty sure it was meant to be Alucard though, because it's "Dracula" backwards.

The closest translation to the way they pronounce it is actually Aakaado, believe it or not.

i just got done watching this anime.
i'm really into vampires and such so i knew i would like it but i really fell in love with this onei thought it was a really cool story and the chars where very cool.
but there is one thing that has been bothering me and i read this whole thread hoping someone would have posted this already and i saw nothing so maybe i just missed something but my roommate said the same as me
when "police girl" was turned into a vamp. she was told by walter the dude with the monicol eyeglass he said stay out of the sun and blah blah blah...yet later on i see her in the sun many times? how the hell is that if she is a vamp how is she able to walk in sunlight? did anyone else see this cuz it bugged the hell out of me:(

did i miss something or is that just cuz she did not drink her masters blood so she is not full vamp? i'm lost.... anyone know?

I don't know any other vampire animes other than the ones you stated (and Hellsing, fo course).

No, volume 8 is not out yet. And Alucard doesn't say that sunlight isn't a vampire's enemy. He says:
Besides, for me, sunlight isn't some great enemy. I just hate it.
So he's only referring to himself, not vampires on the whole. However, in the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, Dracula can go out in the sun. What he can't do is use his powers in the daytime. So he can't transform, fly, whatever.

But Alucard is meant to have been genetically modified by the Hellsings to make him even more powerful. So even though we don't know which "truth" the manga follows (vampires can't go in the sun or vampires can't use their powers in the sun)... whichever it is, Alucard can do both (wheeee, go Alucard!).

I think that the voice acting is one of the best I've ever seen (Besides Fruits Basket, that was heaven)

And I absolutley adore the manga, the style is different, and all the men are like..gangly. o-O That's the only way I can describe it.

I also love the music on the anime. I can't believe they used Mr. Big & their song Shine as the ending theme.
It went well with it, but you wouldn't really expect it to be on there if you heard it before you watched the anime.

I do, however, think that they rushed the anime quiet abit, other then that it was great.

The choice of the ending theme worked quite well IMO and I rather liked the bit with Celas and Integra being reflected in the glasses though I'm not sure who the eyes they show belong too, seem a tad to female to be Alucard's.

I only recently watched the first series on DVD and loved it though I was disappointed with Ingonito, a rather lack luster villian if only a minion really. Presently I have the first four issues of the manga and I must say I like it more, especialy with INtegra not being nearly as mannish ( little Austin Powers lingo there :) ) looking and I love Celas.

Subbed. There is no comparison. Alucard's voice, in Japanese, is heaven. Pure freaking heaven. I could listen to him talk all day. :love:

Did you know that the guy who does Alucard's voice in the sub is the same voice actor who does Baki in Naruto? Baki is Temari, Gaara, and Kankuro's sensei, by the way.

Hmmmm I'll have to watch the series again with the english subbing so I can compare the voices. Now Alucard's english voice I recognized the other night when I was watching Eureka 7 as that of Holland the leader of the Gecko Nation group.

Though as far as japanese voices go I worship Ryoko's from Tenchi Muyo, I'be purchased a bunch of the series musical cd's even though I can't understand a word of it I love her voice.

Right now after finaly seeing OVA 1-2 and dropping by my local comic store and picking up Manga #7 I'm on a definte Hellsing high .

Gotta say Seras Victoria makes a glorious vampire.

If you can definatley get the Manga it's worth it especialy versus the TV series which turned INtegra into a rather mannish robot IMO.
