I watched the first two episodes and I think it's different than the movie, making it an anime that holds up well on its own--Which I assume was on purpose. Other then a few hints here and there, there isn't any mention of events that happened in the movie. Moreover, the drawing style is different--less dark and gothic in my opinion--I see the style getting darker as the plot develops, though.

Overall, I can see myself really getting into this series. I loved the movie but always felt is was an anime series that just happened to only have one episode. I can't wait for more! So far, 5 episodes have been released.

I heard about blood+ on theotaku.com
its supposed to be seperate from the movie....and its actually pretty good. I was never really into that specific genre...but this ones pretty good.

I have been watching Blood+ since it first aired in November. There are 14 episodes so far, but releases have stopped because it was licensed, even though there is going to be 50 episodes.
Blood+ is hardly related to Blood:The Last Vampire. The character Saya, and her purpose are the same, but the plot and style of the anime are completely different. It has quickely shot up to my #2 favorite anime series. I find it to be rather grasping.
The movie was made years ago. It was very short, and left viewers asking a lot of questions. Therefore, even though it has been a while, the producers decided to make a series, using the general theme of Blood:The Last Vampire. The result was Blood+.

Blood+ is good. Pretty gorey but not very sacry . Just the one with the kids is pretty freaky. I hate how they changed the opening. The first opening was the best.

I thought both Hyde's "Seaon's Call" and Hitomi Takahashi's "Aozora no Namida" were both very good openings, but I like "Seaon's Call" better than "Aozora"...Go Hyde!...
The animation for the second theme is amazing though! It is some of the best animation I have seen, especially without going into real CG like FF:Advent Children.
Episodes 17 was rather....awkward...not the relationship between Saya and Haji, but rather the fact that an old woman's head got squeezed to the point that it burst. Anyway, off to watch 18.

Okie well i've just finished watching episode 24.

I can't believe Saya actually did the blood transfusion to Riku. I mean, now the poor kid is gonna lead a very weird life.Does that mean now Riku is one of Sayas' Cheveliar? Will some parts of his body change like a Chiroptera later on, like what had happened to Hagi's hand?

The 3rd opening song sounds great!! It's called "Colours of The Heart". And it's sang by UVERworld!! Yay one of my favourite groups! xD The third opening song will appear in episode 26. :D
