Live Action DBZ Movie

I heard a rumor a while back that there was going to be a live action Dragonball Z movie. But it wasn't true, unfortunatly. Anyway I heard from a friend that there already was a L.A.(Live Action) movie, a really old one in japanese. If anyone has any info about this "possible" L.A. DBZ movie please post it.

the L.A DBZ movie from along time ago is called "Dragon Pearls" and it follows a kid called Monkey Boy "Goku" it is loosley related to dbz but not completely and as for the new one I think it has been scrapped, Fox had the rights to it back in 02 but I;ve heard nothing else about it since then... but maybe its a hidden script thats just waiting to be casted. never know...

Yeah, there was even a trailer in '03, but really short, and vague. Haven't heard nothing since.

I've been hearing about this rumor for such a long time. They even had it to where they had the actors picked out for the different characters already. I heard that they were going to use Jet Li as Vegeta and Leo DiCaprio as Trunks. >_< I'm glad that the rumor isn't true, though. It just wouldn't look right.

There was supposed to be a dbz movie released in 2006 and it was gonna have special effects done by george lucas. Because him and fox are buddies but i dont know if there gonna make it but they did sign a contract to. And it was gonna be awesome! But they might not do it but if they are it should be released next year or so.

This could possibly be the single worst idea in history. There are soooooo many reasons why. Let's look at a few shall we.

1) Character proportions - Almost no one in DBZ looks like a regular person. They are all diesel, ripped & buff. What actors are you gonna cast? Even chibi Gohan is diesel.

The effects will never look right. They won't be able to do the fight scenes justice. Even if they can't they just wont. These production companies are not gonna believe in this project to give it the kind of funds it will need to be successful.

The only one I heard of was the Live Action moive was from Hong Kong. They didn't have copyright's either, so it wasn't actually DBZ, but it was really close. Goku was called "Monkey Boy" and such.
