Hmmm how many here know about READ OR DIE

I just want to know what you guys think bout this one i realy like it coz it makes me Laugh hehe and it's very unique to me :laugh:
Yomiko Readman
She lives an incredible life as a secret agent with superpowers, but spends most of her time buried under a mountain of books. The bibliophile's posterchild, she's so enraptured in her reading that she's oblivious to everything around her: bustling pedestrians, speeding cars, and a 20-foot giant grasshopper hopping through traffic. When the oversized insect steals a precious book out of her hands, however, Readman's powers come into play. She becomes, simply, The Paper.
As her codename suggests, Readman commands power over all things paper. She can shape loose pieces into an impenetrable shield, throw them like daggers, even fashion a parachute. In an anime world dominated by giant robots, gun-slinging mavericks, and sword-wielding demon killers, The Paper makes for the most delightful, if not unlikely, of superheroes: a young woman whose library card is one of her greatest weapons.

Ironically I have read about RoD but I have never seen it, although the concept of "Paper Witches" seems interesting, I shall have to find out where to get it so I can in fact watch it...

yes its very interesting specialy the way they plot the story i realy dont want to be a spoiler but miss deep will betray yomiko readman ^^b but then again it's a clone its very mixed up but its very catchy and nice sense of story

i know about it actually my sister liked it to and bought it on dvd. it is really funny especially with the paper plane and how she would die for her books.it really cool i suggest that you ppl buy it or go over a friends house and watch it then buy it.hehe

I just started watching it, on at 1 in the morning. It seems like a very good anime, but I didn't like how the first episode started, but all in all..hmm...bout 8/10. I'm not a very good rater but that seems good enough.

I love Read or Die! It's my fav anime. I have to say though, I liked the OAV better than the TV series( but i still love both). I'd give the OAV 10/10 and the TV series 9.5/10

R.O.D. is frickin awesome. right after i saw it i ran to the library and checked out like 20 books. i love the movie and the show is awesome. i especially love episode 11 and 12. it has the coolest action music. everyone should check this anime out. you will have a new respect for books.

The series opens with an attack upon the White House by a mysterious man of awesome powers. It turns out, though, that what he was really looking for was the Library of Congress! Meanwhile, Tokyo substitute teacher Yomiko Readman is a young woman who cannot stop reading books. She goes into bookstores that have her face on the wall ('Our #1 Customer') While in some exclusive bookstore (Members Only) she finds an original copy of an extremely rare book entitled Immortal Beloved. While reading it a strange man riding a giant grasshopper shows up and steals it! Yomiko gets very angry and spontaneously generates a giant string of paper which she hurls at the mantis, locking it to the ground! Confused, another man walks up to her and says, 'Oh it's you, Agent Paper'.

This animation is great ^_^ Especially the OVAs, I'd give them a 9/10 ^_^
The TV series isn't as good as the OVAs, it has lost all of it's charm, but it's still good, I'd say a 7.5/10

I just finished the TV series and was really happy I saw the OVA first. It really upped the "What the hell is going on?" factor by seeing some familiar characters from the OVA acting a little unusual. The series did explain the back story of the OVA fairly well, but I'd still say definantly watch the OVA first. The first 2 volumes of the series were kinda slow but still entertaining. Once it hit volume 3 it took off! I'd say if you were interested in the series don't quit before volume 3 :)

Black and dark blue can be hard to differ. If you awnt my attention, actually make the text readable. The aniem is pretty good. I wouldn't put it in my top ten, but it's a worthy read if your stuck in a library full of math books.

I have heard mention of it when I saught after something new. When I got my Vampire Romance Manga, I saw an advertisement for it... I wasn't quite sure if I would like it so I didn't think much of it... now I'm starting to consider getting it and see what its about... I guess curiosity Killed the Cat...
