I was bored... so i made a review, well i made a quick review cause this anime really did catch my attention in everyway and has become my fav!

Anime series - Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
Other titles - The Eternity You Wish For
Episodes - 14
Genre - Drama, love/romance

Brief Intro:
Narumi Takayuki is a third year high school student, who doesn't study very much for the college entrance exams. However, he is wasting his days neither studying nor being able to find anything else interesting to do.

But one of his friends, Hayase Mizuki sets him up to go out with her best friend Suzumiya Haruka. So they begin to date, fall in love, but on fateful day as Huraka was waiting to Takayuki she was the victim of a car accident...

Short Review:
Finished watching entire series of it... i am left absolutly speechless by how great this was. The story was absolutly beautiful, i havn't been emotionaly moved and touched by a story this deep since Saikano, maybe i'm just a bit softy at heart but it was so beautiful it brought me to tears.

As always with me i wanna know more, i want to know more about how Hayase and Takayuki relationship was going. But it isn't much of an issue and doesn't affect anything, simply curiousity. Character development was simply amazing, each character brought there own significant part to the story which does play a big role in the overall plot line. This is one anime that revolves around character relations and that's what makes it a great anime.

Excelently presented, it could be called perfert, a work of art in my opinion. There is nothing i can realy fault about this, though it may not be to everyones taste as there's no action or mechs or bloodshed or anything like that, it's about the story and characters themselves.

10/10 - I rarely rate things 10 but this is deserving of such a high mark. I love it, and highly recomend it.

Yes i admit, they are... attractive in some ways for anime characters. But yes... i am a fan, the story and characters development of Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien is fricken amazing! And as said in my review is only for a selective taste. i.e good taste

You can say my name if you want it doesn't bother me ^_^ But i kinda know why you don't like her. But since you said you saw it all don't you still get it why i like that character!? Everything she gave up, all the hardships she went through, that is somewhat admirable, she thought that it was all a waste but in the end it did pay off, was a happy ending although not much of one, won't spoil for others ^^;

If you gonna watch it again you should look up Akane Maniax: Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien Gaiden. It's a sequal of the after effects of everything that took place from the KGNE, looking at how Akane, the younger sister deals with the break up since she liked him and treated him like a brother. And the introduction of a new and annoying character. 3 Part OVA with only the first 2 parts out so far.

I've seen Kimi ga nozomu Eien and I must say... I love it ^_^ I didn't think I would seen as I'm more of a hack'n'slash kinda girl lol but it was actually really good...
The animation is beautiful, the story is interesting although drawn out in some parts and I love most of the characters... I hated Mitsuki Hayase with a vengence! for a while lol... but at the end I was happy for her ^_^
Akane was my fave character... I don't really know why, I just liked her lol... probably 'cos we both hated Hayase to begin with lol. It suprised me ^_^ and I'm glad I bought it, I totally recommend it lol.

Hmm, since you mention it like that it reminds me of a certain other unrealistic character (Tohru Honda - Fruits Baskets). Suppose that is a factor, but she brings a certain character type to the story, whilst Mitsuki is the more sporty up front person, come to think of it, there's a few that fall into that catagory, Akane, Daikuji...

Nah, not Akane, she's like, the too overly energetic character, they overly use those types in animes much like the Haruka type. Though much prefer Akane to Haruka anyway.

I never could see that in her.She seemed so depressed as the story progressed, and she was always siding with her sister instead of reason (THAT really stood out to me)

Well I only saw Akane as the energetic type, so she falls into that catagory for me. Given that the depression did stand out, i'm sure she cares for her sister en all but she is caring too much on the matter, Takayuki is a grown man who can see whom he wishes, he did wait for Haruka for a year or so, so it's only natural he would find and seek comfort in someone else. It was all down to her childish-ness.

Akane Maniax - KGNE 3 part OVA series... and is complete and utter crap, awaiting for the release of the last part, only reason I am getting them is due to KGNE being my fav anime and this OVA is related to it.

There are characters like Inuyasha that are static and fall under a steryotype, and trhen there are characters like Meroko that c]fall under one, but are complex and dynamic regardness

The OVA is set a few years after, Akane is now in Highschool, the very same Haruka, Mizuki, and Takayuki went to, she is now the swimming coach. It's kinda sad how she used to admire and idolize Mizuki in the past but despises her now.

That's the general idea with characters though, the old stereotyping, all animes consist of certain character types though some abuse that to a stupid level by making them more extreme to that type.

Far from soapy, more like comedy. Hard to say without actually you seeing it, but if you do watch it, prepare to be shocks, disgusted, annoyed and several other negative emotions that will flood into you.

But it's the things that do set them appart that makes them unique, that much you already know.

i kinda have a love/hate feeling for this anime...i loved going into it..but then mitsuki kinda got on my nerves as i started watching more and more of it...which led me to stop watching the series for quite awhile...but then i finally decided to finish it off...since i don't like leaving anything half watched...i'm glad i did decide to finish it though...i think the ending was a great way to tie up the series...and at the end i didn't mind mitsuki as much...

So if you never seen Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, you shouldn't watch Akane Maniax because it spoils a lot about the ending of Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien. Well at least that's what I heard, or read. :D

In my opinion, I think this anime has one of the best character development out of any other series that I've seen. Another positive factor is how realistic this anime was (it could've very well have been made with real actors). I think that and the fantastic voice cast really emphasized the dramatic aspect.

It's one of those that'll really reach out to you and perhaps even make you shed some tears. I highly recommend it.

The OVA continuation, Akane Maniax, however, takes place in the complete opposite spectrum. While the emotional aspect still exists with Akane's feelings towards characters from Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, the very annoying main character and all the mechs and crap just kind of ruin the original mood. I still think that people should watch the 3 episode OVA just to touch on the complete series of Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien.

Well... i love this anime... love/hate it at the same time...
I understand that, better than you can possibly imagine.
I was really into this anime when I first watched it. The first and second episode full of crystal clean happiness, and then, hard hitting drama and addictive melancholy until the very end. And the end itself was dissapointing for me, since I was hoping it wouldn't end like it did, some luck ^^ But it was really one intense trip, and few are the animes that leave such a remembrance.

But i do love this anime, it will be in my top for a long long time aka forever ~ So i also recomend it for anyone, anywhere.

EDIT: About the spin-off's, they're just plain ecchi x comedy (althou the comedy is superb, not really Kimi Ga material if you know what i mean) They should have made a sequel instead, or atleast an alternative ending.
