I am wondering if anyone here has any ideas as to what's up with Mia Campbell, the Lacus look-alike. Personally, I think she will be a way to bring Lacus, and as a result Kira back into the fray. I am also wondering at what point he, meaning Kira, will make his return with his awesome Freedom Gundam. It is obvious that he will be back, just a matter of time.

No she doesn't. She IS however rescued from a an unwanted marriage to a jacka** by Kira in Freedom. Freedom reappears in episode 13, Cagalli is saved by it in episode 14, and thats as far as the show has come online.

I should know, I've got all of the fourteen episodes the've shown so far :D
I think that Mia is esentially just a tool of propaganda by the chairman of ZAFT. He may seem like a good guy, but I have a serious feeling he may be up to something himself. I really don't think he would just up and give Athuran Saviour without motives larger than "unless we go astray" nonsense. I really don't trust him.

I agree that the chairman is up to something, I think he is planning to manipulate Asuran just like Asuran's father did.

I agree completely. The Chairman just seems too perfect. He seems to have all the answers and is too accomendating. He seems to be an observer who watches everything going on and then makes his very calculated move. You can just tell he is plotting something big.
And what is it with showing him all big in the background with Neo and Rei in the foreground in the opening credits? I think he had something to do with that as well. Like perhaps Neo is Mwu's clone or Mwu himself. There is ALWAYS a way to bring back a "dead" character in anime. Whatever it is I don't trust the chairman one bit. He knows too much and is using that information to his advantage.

I only got into this quite recently and i love it. Tamaki Nami has done an excelent job on the first ending theme and i loved it. I only have the first 17 eps of this and am already drawn into it's compelling story. I also like how Kira, Athrun and the others have a well known reputation among the others. The look and emotion of them when they realise who they are and the look when they see the Freedom return to the battlefield! The episode i like best from the ones i've seen so far is probally the 10th, you can just feel the emotion in that one, when Athrun finally accepts his name and when at the end he realises that he has the power and will use it... Savior. His reunion with the Savior is just such a momentous occasion.

The old SEED crew is already back. They almost took over the Destiny crew. I like the old crew but this is Gundam SEED Destiny not Gundam SEED. The latest episode involved Kira and Archangel diving into a battle between Orb & EA VS ZAFT and basically screwed everyone up.

And it was one of the best episodes so far IMO
Also, while the old SEED crew are still in it, most are completely different. Kira is now 10 times cooler then he was in SEED. It seems he has finally chosen a path for himself and can control his emotions and power. Lacus has a new look now :P but he character is also different, a lot more mature then she was in SEED (or atleast she shows her maturity better now). Ahtrun is now filling the role Kira filled in the origional, the whole "I dont know my path and Im all confused so I will keep fighting even though I dont like fighting cuz its about all I can do" Although he was like that at the end of SEED too. Cagali is now a lot more annoying though, all talk and no action. I mean Lacus and Kira say many of the same things she does but they actually try to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
While Destiny is seperate from the orgional, it is still its sequal. I think Kira and crew should get more screen time then they have been getting. Episode 23 was a good start ^___^
Kira & Freedom >>>>>>>>> Everyone else :P

Lacus and Waltfeld is said to go to PLANT to ask the Chairman about the assasination attempt on Lacus in later episodes. If so, they finally lost it.

Just seen episode 24.... Wow. It's another powerful episode. It is a must. Interesting and rich plots. Long awaited reunion. Shocking discoveries. Deep reflections. And the storyline becoming more and more dark and complex. It's sort of a marriage between Gundam SEED episode 39 and 44~45. I'm not going to be the one to spoil things further. But... I'm now even more interested in how things are going to turn out. Episodes like this makes the incredibly sudden death of Heine (who was introduced for more than ten episode's worth of openings but lasted less than five episodes...)

Having skimmed through that and episode 25, I am starting to think Luna will be heading to the Archangel in the near future. She seemed deeply effected by what Kira said. I am curious to see how things will play out with Lacus meeting Gillbert, and how Kira will get his new Gundam. I hope something gets Shinn straightened out soon, because I don't like his attitude. Also, Athrun seems deeply stupid, for not realizing that Kira would need a good reason to fight.

Things are really getting interesting. I wish more people here was interested in Gundam SEED or Destiny. Oh well... I need to vent my stress... so I think I'll just ramble on a bit about Gundam SEED Destiny.
Episode 26 turned out to be interesting. Shinn breaks just about couple dozen regulations by hightailing back into Minerva with Stella without permission or anything and gets a serious scolding by his captain. Stella's origins become more known to the Minerva crew and leaves Shinn shocked into silence when Stella goes nuts and doesn't remember him. Later, when things get quiet Shinn visits Stella and when Stella remembers him seemed to be ready to cry. Shinn and Stella shares a quiet moment with each other as does Kira and Lacus underwater. Lacus decides to go to PLANT and quietly convinces Kira to let her despite his initial objections. So how does Lacus get to PLANT? Why by impersonating a celebrity and hijaking a spaceship! Lacus pulls another crazy stunt by impersonating Mia as Lacus who was already impersonating Lacus... I wonder if it felt weird for Lacus to impersonate herself...
Anyway, Mia is annoyed when nobody came to greet her, people were already clustered around Lacus and Andy is disguise http://animegalleries.net/bbs/images/smilies/smile.gif. Lacus and Andy nearly gets shot down by some MS called Bibi (?) and some GAZuOOT. Of course, Kira comes in and makes the ZAFT pilots look like total amatuers by disabling all of them within 30 seconds and flying by the control tower where Mia is and scares the hell out of her and breaking all the windows at the tower. I'm not sure if Kira intended to do that deliberately but who cares?
Kira is still worried but Lacus prevents Kira from following her to PLANT and they share another cute moments that communicated intense love and care with just a few words and looks.
It contained one of the most romantic developments in Destiny so far. http://animegalleries.net/bbs/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Mia didn't notice Lacus yet and they barely missed each other.
The new 3rd opening was interesting... It seems a upgraded Freedom or something takes the center stage at the opening scenes and I don't think it's Destiny Gundam. Mu (or a clone of him or whatever) is somewhat officially confirmed more or less. Destiny is unshadowed a few new MS is shown at the end of the opening.
The ending? A rather slow paced, soft, and gentle song which featured many of the characters from Gundam SEED as well who played some role so dead people are also shown there. At the very end there are two scenes with the Minerva mobile suits Impulse, Destiny, and some Gundam which doesn't look like Saviour (does that mean Athrun will blow up his Gundam AGAIN?). The very last scene shows Cagalli's Strike Rouge, Bartfields Murasame, and a new Freedom.
Also, from what I could tell from the preview of episode 27 Lacus and Bartfield might be boarding the ZAFT ship in which Yzak is command in.
That's all I have to say.

If you want to get into spoilers and stuff, I recommend checking out the Gundam SEED Destiny thread at the Kaizoku-Fansubs forum. I have heard many rumors there and I will share them:
If you are talking about the black MS, I have heard that it is called Knight Justice, and it is assumed Athrun will be the pilot. Personally, I would like to see Luna get it, but what do I know :D
There IS an upgraded Freedom (not sure if it is Freedom II, nu-Freedom, or S-Freedom) but Kira is the pilot (and that is the one at the beginning, apparently meaning that Shinn is being pushed aside in favor of Kira).
According to another rumor, before reaching PLANT, Lacus and Andy are intercepted by the Eternal, which was their pink ship from SEED if you remember.
I was only able to skim through 26 so far, and that scene at the end with Lacus and Kira was terribly touching, and Kira is again showing his enormous skills at piloting with his 30 second outburst :p
I just hope nothing bad happens to Lacus or Kira at the end of the series. Hopefully Miriallia will come back soon, and according to yet another rumor, someone else is joining Archangel (my money is on Luna) and either Stellar or Neo is going to be the pilot of the Destroy (the big Gundam shown in the background at end of the opening). Shinn's Destiny Gundam (the one with the red wings and light coming off them towards the end of the opening) is totally cool, but I don't think he deserves an upgrade.
There is also a rumor that Cagalli is going to die at some point in the series, which I hope is not true. All I know for sure is that the new Freedom is going to kick some major butt. Kira is da man and Lacus is one of my favorite anime girls all time. (Sorry for so many spoilers, but if you're gonna go part, might as well go all the way :p) And again, props for the information goes to the GPC at Kaizoku-Fansubs forum (link here http://www.kaizoku-fansubs.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=3116&forum=5&post_id=#forumpost)

Episode 28 is the awesomeness!! Anyone who thinks Heero or someone is the best Gundam pilot, they should see this epidoe. Kira absolutely CRUSHES Athrun, with minimal effort. No Gundam pilot wins so easily over a nearly-equal pilot that I can think of (except maybe Amuro over Char in Char's Counterattack) This reinforces my opinion that Kira is the greatest Gundam pilot ever. I hope he kicks Shinn's butt soon. :p

Watch double posting. I wouldn't want this thread to be closed because of that.
I have to say episode 29 is one of the most brutal episode in Destiny where both sides is involved in serious dirt fighting. Sting barely escapes with his life. Auel is sunk by Shinn. Athrun's Gundam is shredded into pieces by Kira. Luna is seriously hurt. The entire Orb force is decimated in a suicide attack. Minerva has more holes than Swiss cheese...
I have to say Auel's death was rather unexpected. Now Neo is left with only Sting and Stellar (later) to use. Unless new pilots are introduced Neo's special force is rather weakened.
One interesting note. Somebody finally avoided getting his or her body part cut off by Kira. Shinn went into SEED mode and dodged Kira's attack. I wonder how the two would do if Kira was also in SEED mode at the time. Kira has certainly grown strong enough to take on enemies without SEED mode. He simply took out Sting without seemingly much effort. Still, Shinn is not one to be underestimated. But I wish he'd just grow up.
We have to deal with another annoying filler episode though possibly better than the previous ones. Here we finally get to know more about the Dullindal as well as his past relationship with Raww Le Klueze. Within a month expect to see the titanic Destroy Gundam piloted by you know who.
