I was considering using this for the contest (if it were accepted), but decided against it. Still attached though ^^;;
The girl is the lovely Reki from Haibane Renmei. The Haibane generally have white wings. Reki's turn black for reasons explained in the anime. She doesn't understand it, and uses several means to stop/slow it. Thus the specific use of color here.
I'm fond of the way the images meshed here, but, as always, the designer is always most blind to the real problems. I'd love some input ^^
Thank you in advance.

Okay, I'll give that a go... I like the tiny bit of shadow on the colored areas, because I like the depth it gives. How is it without anything around the rest of her?
Oh, and thank you to everyone who's responded ^_~ You're too kind.
I really like it...
I love the series too

It looks great :3
Though the light colors seem sort of odd or out of place for this anime :3

Though the light colors seem sort of odd or out of place for this anime :3 have to agree with Nokizaru ^.^ brownish/grayish would look better, but, since its winter...

It's really cool and pretty, but yeah... it's cool to have the wings standing out... but maybe not brown. Maybe a darker blue. But not too dark.

I personally like the reason for having the brown wings; it goes with the story.

I did that purposely to make her wings and that feather stand out as much as possible. It's all about the meaning behind the wall ^_~
Thanks for all the comments ^^ Now, do ya'll prefer the first (with a hint of shadow), or the second (without)? I'm pretty torn.
